! His magesty wants to nearly kill Ichigo but not finish him off, so he can take him back and resurrect him as one of his men.
He slashes at Ichigo's throat, but Ichigo for unknown reason blocks it with Blut Vene, and retaliates with Getsuga Tensho
! Meanwhile as Byakuya lies there dying, he figures Ichigo will do what he asked him to, even though he didn't get any reply
Then his Senbon Zakura dissipates.

I don't know how often Medaka guy drops anything other than medaka. Dude's pretty random.

Just to drop a note regarding ichigos character developement, back then when hueco mundo just began I'd always hoped that this was the arc where ichigo would become the bad guy or at least the antihero. It would have fit with his whole developement of the hollow side and would have given all the other guys some spotlight they trying to deal with him becoming more and more unheroic.

But yeah didn't happen.

I just noticed something really funny about this line. Ever since we found out that the big bad of this arc are going to be Quincies, most of us guessed that Ichigo will somehow get a Quincy power (much like that Fullbring chaos). So it really shouldn't catch us by surprise if it ends up true

I want to say that it's because there's two topics in one thread, but it's just because people love pointing out how badly these series have become time and time again, and so many people read these series as opposed to others.

I would prefer separate threads. So hard sometimes to find the start of conversations, especially after a chapter is released. I'm typically still in bed when a chapter is released so when I wake up I have to back track a few pages lol. And I'm lazy dagnabit.

Ugh I thought Kishi had more sense than to copy what Kubo did (aside from swapping colors). Sigh, I'm sure this is going to inspire other authors that this is a good device for constructing "emotional" scenes.

If i am honest, i kind of liked the Naruto chapter this week, although, like Nobodyman said, the flashback ended a bit too abruptly. It all still leaves a bad taste though because you are constantly reminded that the biggest antagonist in Naruto is just some brat would could not cope with reality, namely his childhood crush being killed.

Pages like that are, at the very least, supposed to be one huge panel (if it's significant) of the character saying the line in highly detailed art. Weekly, monthly, doesn't matter. Or if you're One Piece, you'd take up about maybe 30% of the page when the character says something significant and fill the rest with story progression.
