This is gonna be a little longer than usual for me, so if you don't want to read, I respect that, but if you do, grab some snacks:
-Cover page: I thought it was really cool that we got to see Coribou fight, and really not too surprising that he's winning against Yarisugi. I wouldn't expect Coribou to be a great fighter, but Yarisugi seems like a piece of trash. Sorry Yarisugi.
-The flashback: It was really nice to see Caeser in his younger days (with stupid short hair), and him being fired was friggin' priceless. The Vegapunk silhouette was sweet, and we can sort of see his hat. And the explosion: woof. Caeser gets fired, blows up the lab, blames it on Vegapunk. How much more of a dick can he be? And to top it all off, he steals Vegapunk's idea of giantification. Wow, he is just so bad. On terms of crimes and just plain asinine behavior, I think he takes the cake.
-The secret room: So it was Vegapunk's secret room after all, which means he was probably in charge of all that went on at PH. That's interesting to know because that means that even 4 years ago, he was being seen as a grand scientist.
-Sanji and Tashigi: I really like their little back and forth when it comes to him being G5's "enemy", in which, Sanji is totally right. Just because they're marines and he's a pirate, it doesn't mean they have to be enemies, and I think this is really gonna come into play more as the series progresses. Smoker will eventually realize (just like the good-for-nothing G5's have) that even if the Strawhats are pirates, they aren't necessarily enemies. I simply loved this bit, as Oda quietly posed an underlying theme between the pirates and marines.
-The gates closing (and the R66 trap): So Caeser plans to trap everyone in R66 and let Shinokuni in. I can see so many ways that this'll go wrong.
1. Someone will simply close the vents.
2. When Luffy is majestically soaring out of the trash dumps on Momonosuke, he decides to go through the vents because he thinks it'll be quicker, thus causing something to change in the vents and having Shinokuni backfire.
That's such an evil thing to do, but clearly he thinks he can pull it off.
Now, with the gates, it might be quite difficult for Sanji and G5 to escape this one. They hardly have any time before Shinokuni catches up with them, and they've got to get to R66 with everybody else. I'd really love to see how this plays out.
Also, I think someone mentioned that when they show the Zoro + Nami side, there's snow coming in, which leads to the belief that Monet began to attack. I'd say that Mocha unknowingly gave over the candy, Monet threw the dog a bone (gave the candy to the kids), and fired a blizzard in order to escape the Strawhats with the kids in tact. Honestly, I just wanna learn more about Monet, she's so mysterious.
-Momonosuke: God, so many people last week called that Luffy would meet him down in the garbage dumps. Mad props to you guys 'cause that was a sweet prediction. Finally we get to see Momonosuke, the little dragon boy, and he's such a silly looking dragon. I'm not saying silly in a bad way, (because he's really cool looking), I'm saying it as in I didn't expect him to look like that. When Mocha said that he was "a little boy that turned into a dragon", I was expecting him to be a miniature of Vegapunk's dragon. But I'm sure Kinemon will be thrilled to see Luffy soaring out of the trash dump on his son's measly back. :p And pertaining to what I said about the vents, I was thinking that if Luffy rides Momo into them, he could fly through the building, and end up in Caeser's room to finally have his fight. I'd love to see something like that happen.
-Smoker Vs. Vergo: So far, this fight is fantastic. Vergo's attacks only somewhat working, and you can see Smoker's determination to win is really showing through. His Vergo smack down to end this chapter's portion of the fight was superb. Not much more to say about the fight, but I'd like to dabble in each character's coming-to so far.
-Smoker: So far, it seems like he has really improved over the past 2 years. Originally fighting against Law, though he lost, he put up more than a fight, and could have had a higher chance at success if he had known of Law's heart swap and steal techniques. But nonetheless, he is putting up an outstanding fight against Vergo, who seemingly beat Law (though it was totally unfair). I really have high hopes for Smoker, and I would really love to see him win this fight.
-Vergo: It's becoming more evident and much more likely that Vergo doesn't have a DF. He just uses his haki and a bamboo stick, that's all there is to it. BUT, there's the fact that he was able to fracture Sanji's leg, SANJI'S LEG. He fractured the leg of the dude who specializes in kicks and leg movements. That's gotta mean something. And I know it's been say a million times, but there is always the possibility of him being a Pacifista. Well, yes and no, but here's what I think.
-He is seemingly a metal man, but doesn't seem to have any fruit. It can't be a magnet fruit 'cause Kid already has that. So the only fruit possibility in my eyes is metal, but I just don't see it happening.
-Vergo has been with G5 for at least 2 years. Well, he has been there the whole time Smoker and Tashigi have been, and has to have been there for a few years before because the G5 good-for-nothings had already seen him as a parent of sorts.
-By being there that long, it makes it harder to believe that he could be a newer Pacifista because that would mean he had to be made at least 4 years ago, so it would be strange if there weren't anymore of his kind by this point, unless he was a "failed" project. Plus, if he was created that long ago, he might have been created to solely work for Doflamingo, which would explain why there are no more of his kind. And would also show that he was sent straight to working with Caeser at the lab.
-Now, pertaining to Vergo as a character, I see him to be one laid back motherfucker. He practically forgets who he is, and doesn't even know what type of weaponry he specializes in. Besides his idiocy, he is such a lax fighter. You can see his movements to be slow yet speedy, and he never fails to look dissapointed in his opponent's fighting style. He hasn't gotten much character development so far, but if he continues on after this fight, I can see him to grow into one dangerous and frightening foe. Also, going back to the Pacifista idea, if he was one, then maybe there's a bug in his wiring, which is why he forgets everything, and could be another reason for canceling the project (if there was one).
-Law: So he isn't unconscious, which will give him a chance to get his heart back before the end of the fight. Depending on how Smoker and Vergo's fight goes, it will play into what happens to Law. If Vergo wins, Law doesn't get his heart back, and loses an ear. :p If Smoker wins, he retrieves his hear, and he and Smoker frolic away in victory. Oh, and R. I. P. Law's hat, you will be forever missed.
-Franky and the reinforcements: Someone made a comment last week, on which I based a little theory off of, so I feel I should repost it and see what you think:
STP_PS first said: In this chapter we dont see Ceasar at all and we haven
t seen Franky for the past 3 or four chapters. Next thing we know Ceasar captures Franky and takes him to Dressrosa with Baby 5 and Buffalo.
I really love this, and it's totally possible. Franky wasn't able to deal with Caeser's ability the first time around, and I doubt he came up with a plan to if they happen to meet again. Plus, this would bring back the whole idea of Caeser wanting his lazer (or canon? i dont remember), and would also give Luffy a reason to go to Dressrosa. Just an extra little thing to keep the ideas flowing.
