My guess:

Vergo prevented most of Law's movements by squishing the heart, at least he did everytime during the chapter.

Law can't shamble people with their Haki being active, that's why he didn't shamble Smoker right at the beginning of their fight. He needed to knock him out in order to switch his personality.

If counter shock is anything like a real life defibrillator, it makes sense that the impact isn't as great as if he used it on the torso (like he did against the Yeti Cool brothers). But that was all he could do, if he keeps his distance Vergo crushes his heart, if he draws his sword, Vergo crushes the heart. So what is left? Counter shock when he is in melee range. He could only reach his arm tho.

Fucked up situation in my book.

I like this chapter a lot. Monet is just superb. Vergo vs Law and later vs Smoker, just great. Luffy in one his better performances (if you dont like a manga with an stupid hero, don't read One Piece. I like it!). I only dislike Law recovering his heart so late. Why he should have to wait until this moment? He could taking it back before entering SAD room, and then, entering it with his heart perfectly safe inside his chest.

points about the chapter:

vergo got insane soru skills, and law can't get the upperhand in the fight, vergo just won't let him. i agree with the observation that law's heart is being squeezed several times before the fight was shown…the dude is a mess and he is obviously weakened when shown activating his room.
also, vergo got freakish endurance and haki levels, i cannot say he got high observation haki, but he got super armament haki and he ruined law with it. haki + rokushiki…monster vergo.
i guess its safe or within realm of belief to assume that vergo got the bamboo-bamboo fruit, first, when he gets hit, he just bends his body to decrease the effect of the damage, exactly like the bamboo tree, the things sticking to his face are bamboo's (some bamboos) static/sticky texture? …and his weapon are bamboo sticks.
monet is not paramecia…she is either a yuki-onna mythical zoan or simply a logia snow fruit...she followed law outside by turning into falling snows and going through 10 layers of snow hut easy.
i dont see why some dudes wonder why robin and chopper had hard time stopping the kids and again blaming the 2 year time skip that was supposed to make them stronger…its because obviously they are kids and they wont fight back. its as simple as that.
not really interested in the cover story but maybe coribou saves caribou and they return to dress rosa, if it would really turn out that he is a henchman of doflamingo.
smoker always deliver badass lines. though he is second to zoro….cant wait for the fight vs. vergo.
agree with aohige, luffy will meet momonosuke in the garbage room, momonosuke can still act as a human, talk and think like a human although his physical form is a dragon….i think so. and they will fly out of there (of course, they will move on luffy's time. LOL)
with guys who wonder, i think the SAD room and secret room are two different rooms. SAD room is where the important key is, the secret room is where weird transformations happen, the room that turned momo into a dragon. (maybe the room where ceasar killed a centaur experimenting just for the fun of it? that scene is in the early stages of the arc.)

predictions for next chapter/s

tashigi, sanji and G-5 looking for the exit and unfortunately encountering baby 5 and buffalo, a short scuffle, tashi-sanji would get beaten and baby 5 and buffalo will go fetch monet, cesar and vergo to escape to dress rosa.
zoro will fight monet while the rest of the crew stops the children. clown will appear, suffocating the crew again and leaving the children while informing monet that they should go to dress rosa.
luffy will meet momonosuke in the dumpster.
a short fight between smoker and vergo, it will be cut short and vergo will escape to dress rosa along with the rest doffy's crew.
law will be successful in obtaining the important key.
luffy and momo will fly up and all of the strawhats, law, smoker and tashigi and sanji meets up and decides to confront doflamingo head on at dress rosa, each with their own motives…..

law needs to get his heart back and his crew from doffy (i assume)
smoker needs his heart back as well and to finish vergo.
luffy needs to kidnap ceasar.
kinemon needs to find a cure for momo.

tashigi and G5 will bring the kids home. chopper will cure all the guys affected by shinokuni.
well, the 2 hour limit of law means the lab will self explode. comes franky to the rescue.
this dress rosa final battle ah…i cant point my finger to it but it seems like every strawhat available will have a one on one battle...and this would be a confusing match up since im guessing they would trade opponents here and there...just to throw a guess: (chopper, injured....tashigi out)

doflamingo - first fights law…ends up with luffy.
ceasar clown - first fights with luffy, then smoker…then law (this would be an awesome area and room match)
vergo - first fights law,..ends up with smoker.
cool brothers - ussop and franky
buffalo - brook
mecha sabo - zorro
monet - nico robin
the little girl - nami
okama - sanji
old dude - kinemon (well there are more doflamingo crewmembers who knows.)

im thinking of adding the side-trips i predict the group will have but meh, ill just stick to the doflamingo arc.

*** also, would just like to give my thoughts on guys. who thinks luffy is being jobbed or oda got poor writing skills….

! first, lets not always bring up the 2 year training, the 2 year training is not meant for luffy (strawhats) to not lose anymore, its meant for them to survive the new world, of course they would still have a hard time, but they can at least, be ready for the monsters in new world, dont worry, i think as time goes by they will still be stronger…and its always strawhats' identity to be the underdogs.
! also, the 2 year training doesnt change anyone's quirks or personality, theyre just stronger and they learned new skills but their personality will always be like that, ussop will still be a coward (though he sucks it up), sanji a chivalrous pervert and luffy as a simple minded, fun, adventurous loving brat.
! having observation haki wont mean you can predict everything that would happen, its either luffy hasnt developed it fully yet (or that's the best his obs. haki can progress) or luffy is just being luffy....i choose both....even his armament haki and CoC is not that super strong either yet. it will in due time.
! while zoro is serious about reminding luffy on the "start of new world" i doubt anything would change on their personalities...to me, its zoro's message to the readers indirectly that "shit is about to get real starting now after weak fishman enemies"....of course luffy got his own "serious mode" switch and that's when his friends got in serious hurt. but for now, luffy is the guy who loves adventures, risks and fun and that's why he used a funny gomu gomu UFO after zoro told him a serious line. LOL.
! and i agree about luffy knowing that monet just wanted to stall time and got no killing intent. luffy doesnt attack on a whim, especially when his target is just ceasar, plus he doesnt understand why he needs to kidnap the guy LOL...luffy is just simple minded, lets all remember that, if oda is doing it for plot purposes then isnt it natural? it creates excitement and build-up...luffy directly kicking everyone's ass would not be one piece at all...and eventhough luffy always gets in deep shit because of his own ignorance or impulsiveness, doesnt that make him more human? and by the way, oda does it in a way where it can be justified. so im fine with it.
! as for the current complains ive read, luffy got no time to react really, the dude is dumbfounded being surrounded by 10 layers of snow hut in which he needed an armament induced jet gatling to break one, 10 layers would be hard to break, and i assume monet created it in an instant and then accepted doflamingo's call and entered the snow hut to hug luffy.
! if its the old luffy, he wouldve slept then and there....like falling easily to the traps of ms. goldenweek...at least he is alert enough to create a way out...though its still hilariously dumb LOL. i accept that, luffy acts on impulse.

I liked his character, love it when old characters get brought back, and he was strong enough to take down Sanji at the time. Cool guy.

I suppose it is feasible that Smoker, Tashigi, and Kinemon tag along (actually, I want this to happen) on the next arc considering the Sunny seems to be the only way off Punk Hazard we know of for sure.

if i could give my honest opinion, i dont think it would go directly to dress rosa after this punk hazard arc. you are right about the "emotional" build-up part….luffy got no reason whatsoever to beat up doflamingo, and luffy only beas up people when his friends are emotionally devastated/needs his help directly/indirectly/got hurt...so i can think of 3 scenarios/arcs that would come in between punk hazard and dress rosa of this doflamingo saga (its pretty obvious this will turn into a saga now.)

1. wano-kuni arc: this would be fun, imagine wano-kuni arc with samurais, ninjas, shoguns and dragons...maybe a strawhat will learn ninjutsu? (like ussop acquired dials from skypiea) and zoro (and maybe tashigi) gets new swords and learns how to cut elements???.....emotional build-up could be kinemon asking help from luffy to help momonosuke...its kinda meh to me honestly though. (the emo part, but the wano kuni arc would be rad.)

2. G-5 arc: this is just a scenario ok? so dont give me the evil eye guys. LOL...lets say tashigi returns the children to the hometown, and WG heard of this mess smoker made in punk hazard...and it happened that the one funding the experiments is WG, which is who doflamingo is working for (who clown is working for) and these WG corrupt guys (higher than sengoku as doffy said) ordered the capture and death of smoker and tashigi...so basically tashigi would be jailed, smoker, as proud as he is will accept luffy's help....i think this is a good emotional build-up since its a different angle,..luffy helping his rival save someone....then it all boils down to smoker and luffy deciding to bring down doflamingo.

3. crewmate arc: or the good old save my crewmate....either law's or luffy's crewmate being held at dress rosa.

well I am predicting an all out fight to start soon, but the reinforcements can they come so soon from dressrosa? Even if they come the poison gas will be out for a while I guess so the fight if its on punk hazard has to be done inside lab 3. And I remember law giving 2 hrs time limit for everyone to escape….maybe that time limit depends on after he steals/destroys SAD..so since he could not accomplish his goal maybe there is no set time limit to escape?? And most of the arcs lately have a time limit right? alabasta had the time bomb, skypiea had enel destroying the island and had to be stopped before he destroys, enies lobby..had to stop robin from being taken across the gates of justice, and saboady escape before the admiral arrives, impel down...need to get to ace before he gets taken away..etc etc...so maybe there is some kind of time limit for impending danger here too... and also law might have calculated the reinforcements arrival in 2 hours so maybe thats the reason he wants everyone to set sail before that.

well, smoker-tashigi-law-kinemon and the strawhats: if law feared for the reinforcements arriving in 2hours, why? they will always outnumber the bad guys here and i think law trusts the capabilities of his allies enough to not worry about reinforcements arriving. unless doflamingo goes there personally which i doubt.

"i cannot guarantee you guys' safety after 2 hours"..so it prolly will be a one-shot wipeout kind of attack for law to say that, meaning he cannot protect everyone at the same time….so im guessing its the lab itself self destructing in few minutes after he opens the SAD chambers. or he actually set-up a bomb to explode in 2 hours to prevent clown from going back to this place again after acquiring the important key.

I'm probably the only person who liked this chapter even better than the last one. Last chapter had almost no Monet. This one had lots of Monet being… cool and Vergo being badass. Loved that faux-nice smile on Monet, so evil. I didn't like though that Luffy didn't even try to throw a punch at her, Oda never lets good guys hit pretty women, no matter how evil they are. Hitting ugly women is fine but only evil scum hit pretty women. Vergo's badass beatdown of a Shichibukai was awesome. I didn't expect him to be this strong. This arc has such great villains. Not the single best, but the best set of villains.

Clearly Law was outmatched due to his heart and what not, but hopefully Smoker is able to finish off Vergo, though I don't see Vergo being totally eliminated this quickly. He seems to be more end game right along side Doffy.

Loved Monet, acting just like Caeser, trying to calm them down about the candy. Cool to see she has some kind of snow fruit as well.

And how the hell is Doffy gonna send over reinforcements? Is Dressrosa that close? Or is the 2 hour time limit not gonna apply anymore? Plus, the gas isn't gonna fade from the island anytime soon as far as we know.

I have to say, I've got mixed feelings with this chapter as a whole so far. It just seems like the crew is running into problem after problem and can't really get any sort of advantage. This is just me and I'm all for build, but when the heroes can't seem to catch any kind of breaks or properly hand someone there ass until a certain point it starts to get irritating. I think this arc lacks fodder for the Straw-Hats to beat on cause I'm itching for someone on the vilain side to get their face caved in.

The kids seem more of a distraction than an emotional anchor, especialy since they're giant, super strong and hopped up on drugs. They're kids, but when a kid can bench press a mountain, I think that's about the time when one of them gets decked in the face. As harsh as it sounds, when a kid is dangerously strong and can't be reasoned with, then its time to friggin go night-night PHYSICALLY.

Interesting chapter. Monet's turning out very competent and delightfully evil (and my favorite character of the arc for sure), but I don't think she's going to be able to take on all the SH's she's up against right now. Though given her character, she'll probably turn the giant kids against them to even out the odds. I wonder if Kinemon has any qualms about cutting her like Sanji, because otherwise he's her most natural opponent, since she's probably the one who kidnapped his son in the first place.

And also, to the people complaining about Luffy not 1-shotting her, she does kind of have the element of surprise here. I mean, how many people expected her to try a 1-hit-KO by hugging Luffy? It would have caught anyone off-guard at least, and it worked fast enough to be believable.

Finally, Vergo curbstomping Law, again, was amusing. It wasn't clear if he was unconscious after Vergo was done with him, but it seems likely. Law's not someone you ignore without making sure he's out for the count, particularly when you're going to be fighting someone strong.

IMO, I feel luffy was just trying to show monet that he was stronger than her, so he wouldnt have to hurt her....being that she did tell him that she had to do it because she was afraid of getting killed by Doflamingo....Like it was said before, I believe he doesnt see Monet as a threat, and therefore he is still thinking if he should hurt her or not

The Vergo and Smoker meet up really interests me cause I don't know where it'll go. I don't wanna rag on everyone who wanted this fight (heck I'd like to see it), but I don't see Vergo losing here. What are the odds that Vergo has Smoker's heart too?

Well, he's lying over there, Vergo can just get Smoker's heart if it's with Law.
It would've been more interesting IF Law swaped his heart with Smoker's, then Vergo would've Smoker's heart not Law's… But I guess everyone really wanted this fight.

For the same reason he had to remove a heart from Smoker's chest instead of just swapping it with a rock or something…
It's kinda funny that people used to complain about Law's power begin broken and when it's showed a limitation for it they still complain.

I thought so too, but I didn't get an answer. maybe because it makes too much sense. " I need my heart in a safe spot, better hold it in my hand first, so it could be taken again."

The best answer i can come up with is that he can't just pop it back in like a lego brick. Maybe he can't because his clothes are in the way?
