I hope the panel with dofla hint that he's actually watching the feed.
Chapter 681: "Luffy Vs. Master"
-
-
I'm hoping Doflamingo's fight is a full 5 chapters OR it's 2 fights one of Luffy/Sanji/Zoro getting destroyed (I've made the prediction before that Doflamingo will be the first person to seriously injure Luffy in the New World) and then returning later and beating him with a new triple combo fangasm.
-
@The:
Doflamingo's too good for Sanji, and I like Sanji.
Amen
@The:
I'd love for Oda to troll people. Make it so the Strawhat's never actually fight Doflamingo, instead, he (and his organization) become somewhat of an ally of them.
I don`t think Oda could waste such a promising villain while sleeping peacefully at night ^^
-
So about Vergo's possible ability. He is steel like which appears to be Iron Body since he has already pulled of moves of that category. When it comes to the food sticking to him though… Maybe he is very heavy and dense, or some kind of gravity man. Like a non-black hole, non-darkness version of Teach?
-
I think the sanjis will to not hurt women would not help him at all. If dofla power could be overcame by a strong will it would be useless and hed be weak as hell; nearly anyone worth a duck in one piece has a strong will. It woyld be the same as saying luffy will resist doflas ability to hurt his crew mates because he has a strong will to protect them and hates people who harm their crew. Dumb idea is dumb.
I think you're wrong. I bet the only way to not be controlled is with willpower. I just wonder if he can control df's too
-
Doflamingo will clearly be defeated by Buggy.
Come on, how much foreshadowing do you need. -
Oh, I just mean the characters would find any reason to fight, and that their characters make them a good match to fight each other. So they can throw some good banter or whatever. Really, all Monet needs to do it say "history is for losers," and everything is perfect. That or, prove she has an unbreakable spine–which might happen depending on this new ability.
finding it really difficult to imagine Robin throwing banter around
If this goes down, I'm assuming Robin goes something like "that's my bread-n-butter you're messing with" as Monet is fighting Luffy, and then she blocks so Luffy can run away.
Robin is still too far from Luffy to help
Don't think we've actually ever seen Robin have a proper (for lack of a better word) duel so noone really knows what her bread and butter is…
but a Robin fight is always always always welcomed by me -
What power are you talking about?
Sabaody Park, when he asks Luffy & co what's going on after Luffy took down the World Noble, and nobody answers but he says "hmm, hmm, ok, I got it". I mean, maybe he's just the best detective in the world, idk, but it seems sort of mind-reading to me.

not really sure if observing a bunch of unconscious nobles and deducing that Luffy clocked him is considered a power :ninja:
also not really sure what you're seeing
!
it's more like he noticed Kaimi, the knocked out nobles and put 2 and 2 together…

Franky is gonna have such a great time playing around with sunny and sad
-
Franky is gonna have such a great time playing around with sunny and sad
It would be too funny if Law went into the manufacturing room next chapter and sees that the S.A.D. is gone only to later find out that Franky was there before and used that to upgrade the Sunny.

Didn't think of that! Another funny situation would be if Franky was sitting on top of sad (whatever it is) and having a cup of tea, supaah relaxed style.
-
Doflamingo will clearly be defeated by Buggy.
Come on, how much foreshadowing do you need.Apparently we need a little more :)
-
Buggy will blast Doflamingo with his mighty balls. :ninja:
In the face. :ninja:
Doflamingo will feelprobably not for the first timethe feeling of balls in his face. :ninja: -
Doflamingo will be defeated by Sabo.
-
So Sabo will defeat himself?
-
Sabo lives in the soul of the days preceding a highly anticipated chapter, and he feeds on the lack of more content to discuss from the previous one.
-
Even Akainu lives in fear of the days when Sabo is at his most powerful: after DOUBLE ISSUES.
-
had to double check that I hadn't accidentally ventured into the dumb predictions thread again :ninja:

It's inevitable. Possibly even fate.

Okay, serious question time:
How do acronyms work between translations? I mean, we know the acronym is S.A.D., but was that officially stated by Oda (i.e. In English) or is there a Japanese acronym as well? Does the Japanese language even have acronyms? (seeing as they're basically a function of the written Latin alphabet)
The reason I ask is that it might make more sense if it referred to something already acronymed as S.A.D in the English language rather than something specific to the One Piece universe. The most likelyt choice if that is the case is "Search and Destroy", which refers to a kind of guided missile, which would also likely fit the other things we know about S.A.D.
Just a thought anyway.
-
Doflamingos powers are useless against Buggy.
He can remove the part of his body being controlled.
He can't be cut. -

Good question. In the raw, it says "SAD" with the pronounciation given in the furigana, so no Kanji there. I'm interested in the answer to the rest of the question as well.

I also think it's more likely that the abbreviation refers to English words (e.g. it doesn't make a lot of sense if "D" was for Devil Fruit, like I read here a lot, because Oda wouldn't refer to them that way) since he's given the English pronounciation. So it could be what you stated. Or, what (probably due to all the child experiments etc.) also keeps popping up in my head is the word "drug", but that wouldn't explain all the reactions from Vergo and CC.
-

He can't be cut.We don't know his powers yet though, could be more than just cutting. Also, haki

So maybe its "Some Awesome Drugs" and Law's stumbled on CC's secret LSD factory?
-
Dude.
Y'all should know by now that Sabo is the thing that Law is after.
To cause the utmost havoc. -

To cause the utmost havoc.I disagree… its a dimensional portal that would cause the utmost havoc... by bringing you there

I can see what Law is thinking though, Sabo and Caesar would have KILLER chemistry and get along well. SO even though kidnapping Caesar might seem like a cruel method at first, he'll come around after spending some time with sabo

He can't be cut.If Buggy were hit with haki infused wires or weapons he would die. Only Oda's mercy allowed him to survive against Mihawk (Oda would never kill the future Pirate King, of course :P)
-
I wonder how far Vegapunk got with the Pacifista project before he had to move to another island, or if he did any at all. Seeing the giant skulls in the beginning of the arc makes me think it is a giant failed pacifista experiment or perhaps the host was not willing to take orders and had become too powerfull to control and had to be frozen and Law hopes to revive him. That's my idea anyways.
-

Since haki don't negate the user power nothing say Mihawk can really cut him.
-

Swords can do more than slash, FYI. If Mihawk does a single thrusting attack, Buggy is done for. If Mihawk really wanted to, simply, he could destroy Buggy.
-

Since Buggy's power acts even unconciously he would be "separated" by the slash but he would also feel the pain of being sliced.
He wouldn't die (maybe) but he would be in a hell of his own.
-
If enel put enough haki on his lightning bolts could he harm luffy?
-
If enel put enough haki on his lightning bolts could he harm luffy?
I'd say no. Because he's still attacking with electricity, and rubber is (almost) completely immune to its effects.
-
If enel put enough haki on his lightning bolts could he harm luffy?
Haki is a shield it would cover his ligning and Luffy would only affect by it.
-

But buggy could still just split in half with the thrust's location being his point of splitting, right?
-
@KaW~KaW:

That Vigoroth looks freakin' hilarious.
-
No one can defeat splitting-to-pieces buggy.. By saying can't defeat I mean to catch all the splitting pieces. Lol..
Except maybe a raining meteor or a black hole of dark energy :p -
I came up with the SABO AND DOFLA theory :D back off guys haha
kidding :)
-

Except maybe a raining meteor or a black hole of dark energy :pOr, you know, punching him in the face. His power makes him basically immune to piercing and slashing damage, but he takes punches like anyone else. I think squashing one of his piece would work too, in the same way punching Law's heart does.
-
Even if Oda never explains it, then the obvious answers are 1) Buggy split apart at he last second 2) Mihawk didn't use haki
-
@The:

That is still catagorized as a blade (sharp) attack, they do not work on Buggy. Blunt force does, so Mihawk could simply hit him with the pompel of the sword it would affect him, but the blade will not.
@KaW~KaW:
But buggy could still just split in half with the thrust's location being his point of splitting, right?
You're right, we saw this in Impel Down (think its lv1) when Buggy was running through the Sword Grass, whose blades of grass are so sharp the pierce the feet that try to run on it, that is a thrust action and Buggy says it doesn't affect him because of his DF.
Or, you know, punching him in the face. His power makes him basically immune to piercing and slashing damage, but he takes punches like anyone else. I think squashing one of his piece would work too, in the same way punching Law's heart does.
True, Buggy's power gives him protection against sharp/blade attacks but not agaisnt blunt attacks. Thats why Luffy's fists did hurt him when they landed, or why he was in pain when he got kicked in the nuts. (both back when Luffy & Nami first met him)/
-
If enel put enough haki on his lightning bolts could he harm luffy?
Doesn't work like that. You can't imbue energy-based attacks with Haki. Up until now it was only swords, arrows, punches, etc. that were strenghened with Haki.
-

You can't act like you know how it works. Still lots of grey area.

It could be cool if there was some ''beta'' pacifistas in the laboratory.
-

Nope, Mihawk couldn't even touch Buggy. Haki won't work on a crewmate of Roger.
-
I disagree… its a dimensional portal that would cause the utmost havoc... by bringing you there
-
@Sonic:
Doflamingos powers are useless against Buggy.
He can remove the part of his body being controlled.
He can't be cut.Actually no. Even if he can't control him entirely he would sitll be able to control enough of him to make him useless. Now Nico Robin…against her Dofl's powers would be completely useless. Sure he can still cut her but trying to control someone who at a whim can grow thousands of limbs anywhere they want...no chance.
Which begs the question. Is Dofla one of those kinds of people that Blackbeard talked about? Someone with such a powerful DF that the neglect their physical strength? That would be interesting to see but I doubt it
-
You can't act like you know how it works. Still lots of grey area.
Fact is, Mihawk never used Haki with his flying slashes. Kizaru never used Haki with his lasers. Whitebeard never used Haki with when he quaked the air. Rayleigh also explained that Haki is used to strengthen your weapon.
