m back from my 4-day computer vacation, and find out that I couldve tied Nami VS Rayleigh.
Son of a bitchThey actually DID tie and both have moved forward in a unique circumstance. Your vote would have won it for (I'm assuming) Rayleigh.
The tie breaking vote was cast after the match to demonstrate that in the future, ties will not happen, to discourage people voting for that exact result, which has become a problem within the last round.

Nami/Rayleigh VS Hiriluk/Hattori (The only match that I don't know yet for who to vote. It's gonna be decided with the campaigns)
Law/Whitebeard VS Robin/Usopp (As I stated last round, since Buggy is out, Usopp is the character that I will support 'till the end. Robin is pretty cool as well so I don't mind voting for her.)
Shakky/Tashigi vs Bon Kurei/Enel (That one is kinda tough. Shakky and Tashigi are cool and I don't like Enel much… But I like Bon Kurei a lot... I like him enough to vote for Enel as well so Bon-chan have chance to go to the next round...)
Crocodile/Zoro VS Shanks/Magellan (Even though I like both Shanks and Magellan, and even if I don't care much about Zoro, I just can't vote against Croco-boy since he's just after Usopp in my fav character list. The only reason I could vote against Croco-boy is if he end up facing Usopp at some part of the tournament…)

Robin/Usopp are the only ones I care about. Nami would be nice to go through too. Magellan too but really don't wanna be voting for Shanks.

Yup. That's why he is back in. However what I said was why was Hattori in there anyways and not all of the others who were eliminated in round 1? He's essentially skipped round 2 and got into round 3. Or was it he had most votes inround 1?
I just hope this tag stuff is where you can vote for any of the four chars and the two highest go through. Kinda unfair to be forced against voting for chars you like because they been paired with chars you hate.

Why is there so much Nami support? I'm not bashing, but what exactly is the rationale?
Hattori is practically an APForums mascot, and everyone loves Hiruluk. So why not them? -
Because Nami is an integral character to the story who people tend to blindly hate on because she's not as "badass" or because she's too "bitchy" or something. There were some nasty comments said this year that are exactly what I mean. (I'm not repeating them)
Basically, the Nami love is there and solid simply because the hate won't go away.

Nami is the character with the 3rd most screentime (or 3rd most important major character if you prefer), has an entire arc dedicated to her, half of which consists of her backstory. AND that was over 500 chapters ago. If you want to list everything she's done since then, be my guest.
And if by "so much Nami support" you mean "practically equal" since the votes for each side is more or less the same when you count the votes of everyone who stated who they were gonna vote for in this thread.
! But really, this is all the reason I need.

I really don't like complaining and all (especially since most of you seem to actually like how this is going down) and I really tried to stay clear from all the Satori stuff, discussions about ties and other "problems" we've had; but I honestly think this tag-team thing is a terrible idea. I mean, isn't this supposed to be a tournament to determine which single character is the most popular? In my opinion teaming characters up totally destroys the purpose of the whole idea behind this tournament.
Also, - and everyone will probably hate me for this - I'd say bringing Hattori back is totally unfair. I do appreciate the efforts Nia (and others) put(s) into campaigning for him, but in the end he was actually defeated fair and square. I would have been cool with bringing back the winner of that "best of the losers" match if it had actually been a normal match between all the actual losers of round 2, but now we have yet another thing that takes away something from the purpose of this tournament.I know many of you folks have been here for years and that you've seen and participated in many of these tournaments, and I guess I can understand that some of you like to change things up a bit to keep it interesting after all those years, but… yeah, I don't know, man. At least we still have this.
I guess I'll just keep voting on these matches, but I don't think I will campaign anymore.
That being said, here are my favs for this round:
Aokiji/Monet VS Doflamingo/Smoker - I like Aokiji and Smoker, but I strongly dislike Monet and Doflamingo. So I guess this is a good example of why characters shouldn't be teamed up… I think I'll be picking Doflamingo and Smoker 'cause I just really don't want to vote for Monet. Sorry, Aokiji.
Nami/Rayleigh VS Hiriluk/Hattori - Hiriluk is cool, but so is Rayleigh; Nami is cooler than both and Hattori shouldn't even be here, so I'm just ignoring him.
Law/Whitebeard VS Robin/Usopp - Easy choice for me. I do like Whitebeard, but I also like Robin. And Usopp is my all time favorite, so I'll be voting for Robin/Usopp. It's a pity they don't stand a chance because that bastard Law being there… :(
Shakky/Tashigi vs Bon Kurei/Enel - This is basically just a vote for Bon Kurei. Sorry, Tashigi.
Crocodile/Zoro VS Shanks/Magellan - Zoro is cool and Croc is probably my favorite villain (I don't really consider Magellan to be a villain) in the series, but I gotta give this one to my man Magellan.
So, yeah. Keep on doing your thing and don't let me spoil your fun. I'll just keep on voting, like I mentioned; and maybe I'll change my mind at some point and start participating more actively again.

I would agree if the tag teams wouldn't look like this. Every team is insane and I doubt anyone can predict the outcome of any of those. Typical for round 3 I guess, tag team or not.
Shakky/Tashigi is unfortunate I guess, but lets be honest here, I think both don't have chances to win the tournament, tag teamed or not :sad:.Anyway, I'm glad that the staff has the balls to try something crazy like this. It will be worth it, pretty sure of that.

And some characters would fare better if they wouldn't face freaking Rayleigh in the first round. Seriously, unless this tournament turns into one gigantic multivote match it doesn't hold any significance concerning popularity. Well, the actual winner of the tournament does say something, but whatever happens in the previous rounds means not much.
That said, I'm confident that the winner of this years tournament won't be handicapped by his / her partner, since they are all monsters (in regards to campaign support & general popularity).

There is nothing in this round that is preventing voters from supporting the character they want to win.
Their partner can have everything to do with that support… or none at all.
A Robin fan or Aokiji fan is still a Robin or Aokiji fan... vote for who you want to win.
Simple right?
Worried how we will conduct the remainder of the tournament? Well... don't worry... cause we're not going to tell you.
And no, we wont be doing a multivote… those are always terrible and awful.
