Anyone wondered if the heart swapped targets retain the same voices? It only just occurred to me, is all.
Chapter 663: CC
-
-
I think this arc is equivalent to Dorry and Borry arc. It will be followed by a trip to Wa no Kuni(Drum Island). And the big bad finish of defeated BiG Mam arc(Alabasta Arc).
-
I never really felt that the Big Mom arc is going to occur anytime soon. I don't see it being connected to the current one.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Anyone wondered if the heart swapped targets retain the same voices? It only just occurred to me, is all.
Anime will probably have voices swapped and altered, similar to the way they did with zombies in Thriller Bark.
So Sanji in Nami's body is going to be voiced by Sanji but trying to sound like Nami.
Alternately the may just leave the voices as they are and make them try to sound like each other, but it would be more confusing.EDIT:
Does anyone understand what Sanji/Nami is reacting to in the fourth panel on page 12? I can't figure it out, the translation must be even worse than I thought. -
Oh,Nami!Almost killing herself by punching her head with giant metal fists…
And it's interesting to know that Franky keeps his shirt open as a choice....
And whats the point of Law taking Smokers heart out.Or is it like a one hit,non-fatal KO attack.

Whiskey Peak is where the Arabasta/Baroque Works saga started (arguably even before that at Laboon). So…yea.

I'd imagine unless their adventures stay at the break neck speed they've been going it would happen either within this arc or tie in to the next since they have that time bomb just sitting around on their ship.
And I'll buy into the theory that Mone is part of Big Mom's crew since she doesn't really seem to be taking orders from Cesar. So I think it could fit fairly well.
-
I hope that nami in franky's body isn't kidnaped by CC over Vegapunk's technology.

Even given all that I think it will be playing out a while. Why rush having them fight an emperor when we haven't even ran into any other supernovas, never-mind anybody new besides Caesar there. It's a half of Grand Line and he is going to go fighting an emeperor right away?
Unless Oda is planning to wrap One Piece up in a hurry (and having Luffy become an emperor sure would push it close) there is no reason for it. Treasure isn't candy so she has no reason to personally go and open every single thing in those bags when they arrive.
Mone could be part of her crew, but what business would she have being there?
Myself, I see it playing out more like Jaya where they ran into Blackbeard but the actual events involving him took all the way till Impel Down to start unfolding. -

You could also say 'Big Mam' arc also started with Luffy's arrival at Fishman Island and interaction with some of the crew of 'Big Mam'. I'm just saying if you break down the arcs, we're at Borry and Dorry(aka Punk Hazard) arc in the 'Big Mam Super Arc'.

Just wanted to point out, it's "Broggy".
And why do some people still say "Big Mam"? Doesn't "Big Mom" make a lot more sense? -
I don't think we'll see the Wano country anytime soon ,if we're making comparisons to the Little Garden arc ,maybe Wano will become how Elbaf became to that arc after the introduction of Giants [[Samurai?]] it was mentioned but since then Oda has really left it all to imagination. The next Islands' could either be Risky Red or Rajiin or Mystoria Island.

HAHAHA! That's perfect!
Great job, Tabasco. -

Wasn't "Big Mam" how Oda wrote her name?
-
As far as our assumptions, Doflamingo wears a pink-feathered boa, Bartholomew Kuma wears a hat with bear ears and paw prints, Buggy the Clown has a red nose and wears clown makeup. See where I am going with this?
Crocodile, Gecko Moriah, the three admirals (Dog/Monkey/Pheasant), Fisher Tiger all come to mind to the contrary.
Obviously it goes both ways; I'm just saying we shouldn't jump to conclusions about him being clown-esque in his appearance. The Pan/satyr theory has far more ground than that right now, considering he has what looks like horns and all of his underlings seem to be sheep/satyrlike in appearance.
-

Initially, after that he changed to 'Mom' afaik. It's not the first time he misspelled and corrected something in English.
-
Wasn't "Big Mam" how Oda wrote her name?
He wrote it "Big Mam" and "Big Mom" on two different occasions, with "Mam" being the most recent.

Sure thing, I am not saying I am right, just explaining the reasoning. Given the way Oda likes to goof off with designs it's probably going to be some kind of clown satyr that wears a toga.
Speaking of others, Cocodile had the whole "captain Hook from Peter Pan" thing going, as well as kept Banana crocs as pets. Can't say about the rest but I wouldn't be surprised if there is some connection there as well, OP characters aren't usually named at random. -
@$abZ:
I hope this arc is less like Thriller Bark and more like the old school epics like Alabasta and Skypiea. Though at the moment this arc has a Thrller Bark feel to it.
I feel like with all the converging parties, weird geographical/atmospheric factors and so on of the New World that pretty basically-structured arcs like Alabasta and Skypiea will be fewer in this half of the manga. That's not to say they'll all be TBesque but I think with all the weirdness we've already seen so far at Punk Hazard we have a decent idea of what the New World has to offer. /couldbetotallywrongthough
I really don't see what the SHs are going to do now. Will Luffy want to get involved in all this?
I think between wanting to find Mononosuke, the possible involvement of Law's crew (if they're somehow being detained or harmed by Clown to ensure Law's cooperation with whatever Clown is doing, Luffy's debt to Law might motivate him to fight on his crew's behalf), and Luffy's unwavering sense of adventure, they're bound to get involved somehow.

There was a pic going around that showed Oda's desk, on it there was a manuscript or something with Wano on the front. It seems like it will happen next. I actually think that this is part of a huge Vegapunk arc, but that is mostly because I think it is about time he is finally introduced.

Law mentions that he too is looking for something/need in something. So far we've seen hybrid people based on mythological creatures. Lower does not seen to have a comfortable relationship with Cesar, so it's likely that Caesar has laws crew hostage in exchange for his abilities, such as splitting and forming animal people and removing the impel down prisoners hearts. This way, Luffy well have the chance to pay back his debt by helping law rescue his crew. If law was truly on cc's side, he would've done more to impede the star hats target than point then towards where they may need to go
-

Law could just crush Smoker's heart with a kairoseki stake, and Smoker would die…

I imagine if Ceasar was directly responsible for something that happened to Law's crew the two would be far more hostile towards each other. As is it seems to be an uneasy alliance (ala Jimbei/Crocodile/Luffy) towards a common end rather than the two being outright enemies.

Is anyone else having a problem with manga reader where none of the pages show up. i want to view this chapter and the one before it but i dont know what is wrong. i need to see law kick some ass. if anyone can help or is having a similar problem please reply or PM me. thanks in advance.
-
CC probably captured the frozen prisoners to experiment on, made a deal with Law to let him use there hearts to become a Shichibukai in return gets use of his medical/DF powers/knowledge to make a better human weapon than the pacifistas/outshine or get back at Vega Punk..Maybe Law tried to leave after he got his position but CC took his crew hostage.

Or, you know, cut it in half with his sword.

US viewers can't us use MangaReader anymore because they blocked all Shonen Jump titles. Go to another site.
-
I think Law is–more than likely--a pretty nice guy. I'll feel pretty sad for him if his crew is being held captive (or is hurt/dead).

Yea i think at this point the first post and upcoming chapter threads should not be linked with mangareader to find the chapter because most cant see it and we wouldnt have people asking about it every other page.
As for the chapter itself it was excellent, saldeath and sadi are a pair id never thought id see together romantically. This has me thinking magellan might show up in the next cover story, im excited at that prospect but at the same time im kinda hoping he doesnt. If he does appear im afraid oda might have him just thrown in jail with the other prisoners or something lame like that, where as id hoped he would be doing something more with his talents (magellan for next admiral or higher government position).
The body switching is throwing everything for a loop at this point, but i gotta admit i do find sanji's enjoyment of it to be excellent.
-
Alright chapter.
I didn't really find any of the jokes funny, but that CC guy seems interesting. -
Can't wait to see how samurai's powers play-out as the arc progresses.Hope he becomes the factor that saves everyone.
What's up with Chopper staying in his kungfu mode. It's almost like Oda wants to keep it like that just as preference
-
Franky probably doesn´t know to change his form and i actually like this better than Franky´s personality in Chopper´s "tanuki" form.
-

Chopper was staying in kung fu form to protect the kids/Nami in case the PH guys/marines came. Once they switched Franky just doesn't know how to use his DF. I agree with Miyamoto, Franky in that form is much better for his personality.
-
I gotta say I really can't wait for this arc to be animated for two reasons:
1. With all of Law's attacks in hard to tell what going on, in the page.
2. I wonder how the seiyuu will handle the body switching. Will their voices be switched or will the seiyuu do the best impersonations of whomever their inhabiting?
O-chan

The way I see it there is no SaldeathxSadie it say that she is in love with the new vice warden and the way she is looking in the mirro i think the new vice warden is Sadie
-
I've got this heavy vibe after reading this chapter that Law is the next Kuma. He's helped Luffy for reasons unexplained, and seems to continue helping him. He also became a Shichibukai. Kuma was completely roboticized, meaning Law could be the Revolutionary's new 'spy'. I'd even believe it if he were Dragon's personal undercover agent, someone even the regular Revolutionaries wouldn't be aware of.
-

Nope, the most recent is "Big Mom"; it's in the self-imagination of Sanji.
-

Hmmm, good point. I just assumed Saldeath was the new vice-warden, but Oda never actually says that. It could be a completely new person entirely who knows.
-
Thanks for the translation, it clears up things a bit.
But why are Brownbeard's lines missing? -

Kuma reluctantly works with Vegapunk. Law reluctantly works with Vegapunk's former partner.

Thaannk you for posting your translation, parts of the others didn't sound right, yours made much more sense/sounded better.

I wonder if Chopper's still got that habit where he attaches to Zoro when faced with danger. That would be lulzy.
And what's up with Sanji!Chopper's body language? It's weird how he's hunched over.
It's nice that Oda romanized Clown's name for us. Maybe it'll become a habit?
-
You know, why was Caesar called "M" before? He already has initials for his name, so what's the point of coming up with "master M" when any knowledgeable marine can connect the dots just by looking at his castle?
Maybe they're two different people, but with similar powers for some reason.
-

I hope you're implying he does that while still in sanjis body.
But yeah, that was always the most adorable. -

I still hate saying "Caesar Clown". It's so awkward to say. I'll say it the other way for now.

The Hazmat guys never called him master M. they called him "M"… as in a short form of master. That was shown when the full word was shown it was like this; M (master). IT appearing like that showed that M stood for master.

Could make sense. With Kuma losing his free will and with Law saving Luffy Dragon could've seen an opportunity to reacquire a spy, and who better than someone who helped his son escape.
-
Also Law knows about D. possibly implying he knows more about Luffy's or other D.s purpose in future events.

inb4 Buggy D. Clown
