Old Ameterasu caused flames to erupt instantaneously at whatever you looked at. I can totally see how it's an upgrade that now it gets shot at people, yup yup
Naruto and Bleach: Let's put this thread to bed I
-
-
I can count at least 10 panels solely dedicated to showcasing Sasuke's eyes.
-
Oh look. Once again Sasuke re-affirms his hatred, and I'm not convinced at all. All throughout the chapter, I asked myself, "Wait, why is he murdering everything again?" And Sasuke needing Susanoo for Zetsu idiots was just unnecessary.
So Sasuke is up for another power-up via Suigetsu. Just the average amount of bullshit I expected.

Haha. I guess the plus side is that no blood spills out of his eyes anymore.

To be fair, looking at Naruto who now can beat five tailed beasts at once, he really needs one, even when one considers him probably getting Rinnegan sooner or later.
-
Haha. I guess the plus side is that no blood spills out of his eyes anymore.
I thought exchanging your shitty eyes for your brothers equally shitty eyes was supposed to fix that?
-
Oh look another Aizen clone!
As expected from the genius that is Kubo.
-
Embrace your inner Shinigami. Bleach is out.
-
Is it really going to happen? Sasuke vs Itachi 2.0? Wasn't their first fight horrendously bad enough?
Seeing how awful the fights are lately in Naruto, both in art and execution, I'm hyping this future fight as a serious contender for "600 billion armadillo penises".As for this chapter. . .Sasuke sucks. Suigetsu is lame. Juugo is boring. The white Zetsus sucks ass. So. . .yeah. There you go.
-
I have to admit, "surprise" Aizen second clone aside, this Bleach chapter was pretty entertaining. Had a good chuckle at some of the interactions.
-
This week Naruto wasn't bland and boring for a change. It was just awful.
Chapter starts with the usual Leaf ninja incompetence. Why did they leave a prisoner with his belongings which include a portrait with a full set of lockpicks and a pair of saw-glasses? Too busy playing cards, yo. Then we have Sakura breaking a random wall and finding top secret research of Orochimaru. Just like that. By pure luck and random idiocy. And for the rest, we Kish iindulges himself into a Sasuke-filled eye-fest and foreshadowing of a new, even worse Itachi confrontation.
Oh joy.
-
lol'd @ "get off my bed".
-
Looks like Aizen's lost Russian half-brother arrived.
-
I actually liked this week Bleach chapter, reminded me of the early chapters. Aizen's russian half-brother aside.
-
Sasuke everywhere. Even Karin looks like him in the panel where she takes off her glasses.
-
I don't know who you are
BUT GET OFF THAT BED
-
WTF Bleach? I though Kubo was going to wrap things up instead he introduces shitty girly-boyish-whateverish fodder shinigami and another generic "hurr durr" mastermind Aizen-lookalike guy. What the actual f-
-
Let's see here, another man from the shadows that's revealed in a shot from behind that has a vaguely Aizen face.
I hate it when I'm right.
-
In a decent manga, all the villains being Aizen clones would be symbolic of how Ichigo will never move past the trauma he received from his fight with Aizen and all the things he saw die.
In Bleach, it's just because Kubo's fucking lazy.
-
Naruto was shit, entirely expected.
I was actually unsure which of those two new substitute shinigami was in the bed talking to Ichigo. They look so fucking similar it's unreal.
-
Who were those people hanging out with Ichigo…they seem like they know him, can't wait to see their stories~
-
There's something I dont get. If Itachi was slowly getting blind, then why does Sasuke have perfect vision again with those very same eyes?
And Bleach has the most epic cliffhangers ever. "GET OFF THAT BED"
And my personal favorite from last arc. "WOULD YOU LIKE SOME….RAMEN?" -
It was once explained, that when you get 2 such eyes, you will never get blinde and you'll keep your new ability without risk or so. So basically its becouse… well it's the eyehax and its sasuke who has it...
-
Sakura you should see a dentist:

Naruto chapter:just awfull i dont care one jolt, karin bit made me chuckle bit and face palm because of the prison stupidity. This week bleach suprised me i kinda like this layback ones, that last page never happened.
-
So Chad and Orihime finally get to do something…
Off-Panel.
There's Kubo's gratitude to his fans and commitment to his characters for ya!
And we have our villain (or messenger?), Aizen 5.0, Foreign edition.
Rest of the chapter was meh, nothing actually happening.
-
And now Hiyori has stolen Peronas face. Joy.
Bleach was more boring than bad, but that "badass" 2-page spread is just incredibly pathetic. Not only is it rich that Kubo tries making Ishida, Chad and Orihime look competent given their roles last arc, it's just a fucking lazy spread. No particularly dynamic poses, Chads arm isn't even powered up yet, Ishida just lounging in the back with that sad little bow…For a full two page spread which only basis for existence is to hype up the Mains in the eyes of a new character, which shows nothing new and has no real dramatic resonance, it was kinda underwhelming is all I'm saying.
Also, Inb4 Ivan is the top secret unmentioned totally not asspulled Aizen Science pupil who has been restoring the arrancar in order to bring them back as fanbai- I mean, back to the story.
I see what you're saying, I'm just saying that a zombie resurrection of old enemies as a final arc isn't necessarily a terrible idea. For example, an old enemy can be treated or looked at in a fresh way, regardless of whether or not their "arc was resolved." They can simply have a new character arc to them.
To a point I agree with you Daz, but seeing characters whom we've only been told about as part of the Naruto World's mythos like the Mist Swordsmen and the real Madara is pretty cool and could've potentially made some interesting fights. And fights with old villains, even if their arc has been resolved, still would've at least made some potentially cool fights.
I agree that characters can always be looked at in a different way, but an author with foresight should try to mine them of all their potential before he kills them off; that way you avoid the stink of lazy, bad storytelling that appears when you go "Wait wait wait, I just thought of some more lines for Nagato! Crap he's dead. Here he is as a zombie! Ok, he said his lines, now he's dead again."
Mostly I'm annoyed because this is the friggin series finale, and we've been served up reheated leftovers as the main course. Before this war, the antagonist-checklist included Kabuto, Zetsu, Sasuke, and Tobidara and his pets. 60 chapters into the war we're only just starting to get around to them because of a horribly pandering series-extending zombie apocalypse noone asked for.
It mostly comes down to this for me: you know when a video game pads the game by throwing past bosses in your face just before the final boss? I hate that. You can argue that it's fun to see you/the hero take them out with all his new moves, but when the opponent is litterally copy-pasted, it just feels like a waste of time.
As for the new zombies, yeah they can give some cool fights, potentially, but for the finale I'd like the fights to have a bit more emotional weight, and not be that shallow. I.e. I hope that for the inevitable straw hat- Blackbeard showdown, there'll be at least some prior interactions under the characters belts, so that Usopp vs Van Oger is more meaningful than Usopp vs Chew.
-
That guy should get off Ichigo's bed, Ichigo doesn't like it when people stand on his bed.
-
-
^sound like he found Orochimaru's porn collection..hahaha
lmao nice one !
You can feel the passion and love when he draws Sasuke…
-
Hot damn Naruto was bad. Sasuke himself wasn't the worst part of the chapter because what did he do? Throw fireballs around and look crazy as he killed people while spewing stupid nonsensical lines of hatred? Same ol' Sasuke ever since the Kage Summit. It was all that talk and pandering revolving around Sasuke which grated on my nerves. Sasuke left Karin, Juugo, and Suigetsu for dead and this is how they treat him. With all the help they can give him~
As for Bleach, not bad. Sure as hell enjoyed it more than Naruto and Kubo's doing something Kishi should be doing. Trying to make the side characters even slightly relevant again.
-
Sasuke's wankery genocidal mania is so atrocious it really defies description. And stop trying to make his old posse seem relevant again, we all know damn well you forgot about them, Kishi.
Pew pew eye fireballs pew pew
Ivan is more of a Kenpachi clone than an Aizen clone.
-
That was the most anti-climactic villain reveal I've ever seen in my life. This guy just walks in and says, "'Sup, I'm the new villain." Why? Why wouldn't you build up to the point where when we do see him, we know him as this evil criminal mastermind. But, no. Just, poof, new villain. It's hilarious how bad this arc is starting out. Mediocre new characters and the same awful protagonists. I'm really hoping they won't be fighting next chapter. I mean, they probably will, assuming Ivan here doesn't just flap his gums for the next 7 chapters. Which he will.
-
I just skimmed Nauto… Who's the guy that looks like Sasuke on the first page?
-
I do like most of the Vizards, so here's hoping they have some involvement in this arc.
-
I just skimmed Nauto… Who's the guy that looks like Sasuke on the first page?
His crazy stalker.
-
His crazy stalker.
I wasn't aware Kishimoto was into self-inserting himself within his manga.
-
O god I forgot Karine or what the fuck ever her name is still existed. She makes Sasuke look decent in comparison, maybe because the only way to create a character worse than Sasuke is to make it a super sexist caricature of a woman head over heels in love with Sasuke. I'm not even a feminist, but she's ten times worse than all of Bleach's terrible female characters, including the bitchy pedo bait who got cut in half, combined.
Also, apparently Mangazone's pretty awful.
-
It's funny how Orihime, Chad and Ishida get a lot of exposure at every beginning of a Bleach arc, and whenever the story (tries to) progress, they disappear as if their only role in the manga was to show that Ichigo has some Humans friends.
-
"Yo bustin' through the window. Wassup!?"
"Oh gawd, get the hell off my bed, you're dirtying it!"WHO WILL CREAN THE SHEETS ON THE NEXT CHAPTER OF BLEACH
-

And lived. I just have to point that out every time this subject is brought up. She was cut cleanly in half and survived evn though she didn't recieve any immediate medical care. Nothing in Bleach is life threatening to the good guys and that's one of Bleach's main problems. There's no tension when it comes to 'Are the good guys in trouble'? Nope, they'll make it out alright. Not one good guy has died so far. At least I can't remember and we're on the final arc. Not one good guy has died so far.

Sasuke has a twin brother.
-

Well maybe all of the good guys will die at the end of the manga. A happy end, you know?
-
NEXT TIME ON BLEACH
Ichigo rips Ivan apart limb from limb for accidentally wrinkling his sheets
SAME BLEACH-TIME
SAME BLEACH-MAGAZINE
-
I like how this Bleach arc looks like the start of a anime filler arc.
-

Oh god, it's Hipster Sasuke

Oh god, it's Hipster Sasuke
I have this thing called "Eternal Mangyeko Sharingan", but you've probably never heard of it
-
O hai my name is Aiven Aizuko.
What the hell are you doing in my bed?
Did you already forget about last night?
Get out you whore!
Oh hell naw powers up to arc boss
-
And Bleach.
Yeah. As if anything of this has any relevance whatsoever. Ishida destroying a whole hollow, Orihime healing whole two shinigamis and Chad having a whole line.
And lol at the Vaizards. Shinji, Rose and Kensei had to be reinstated as captain and go back live in Soul Society. The rest of them were allowed to live in the human world. So does this mean that Love got lucky because his seat was taken and remained in the human world?
The only hope I have for this is that Kubo doesn't have a russian or any other slavic language fad this time.
I like how this Bleach arc looks like the start of a anime filler arc.
Kubo's learning from those who can make Bleach entertaining?
-
This week's Naruto only reinforced my deep dislike for Sasuke.
-
Kubo: "Ivan" is a Spanish name right?
-
Ivan is obviously a смертный бог Captain from the Russian Soul Society where Aizen Rasputin is trying to overthrow the Spirit Czar and control Russian Soul Society with his army of Hollow KGB agents.
