Zoro's 3 swords style will be now called: FULL HD CANON
And anyone thinking as well that poor Smoker is waiting for nothing now and that the SHs passed G5?

My heart skipped a beat when I saw that white whirlpool, thinking he'd go to try and head them off, alas no.

Poor Smoker, now will have to chase the SHs even in New World.
Dunno why, but seeing those island whales put a big smile on my face. I can feel you Brook. I can feel ya…
And anyone wonder why baby Laboon got separated so far away from his original home? I mean he has to cross calm belt to reach West Blue, it seems impossible for me.
So, when is Caribou joining the crew?
Is it just me or does it feel like Oda is trying to re-introduce these each of the Straw Hats before they enter into the New World?
I mean Oda your manga is basically a cultural institution these days, I doubt there are any Japanese youth left that couldn't explain the character archetypes of each Straw Hat pirate.

@Sonic:
So, when is Caribou joining the crew?
His role on the crew is replacing the old padlocked fridge.

After Perona does.
Great chapter. I was worried when I read the spoilers. They made it sound sort of boring.
Nami being OK with Chopper being in the shower with her was an odd change of character. What happened on Weatheria? :-|
LOL Usopp the fisherman! Only fisherman I know that can hook a fish with a slingshot. Even if the fish was KO'd the water currents and pressure would interfere with most being able to shoot straight lol Not only did He get it, he got three fish for one hook!
Funny how Usopp wasn't bothered by the size of the fish, only that it may upturn the ship. Before timeskip he would freak out. He's grown up so well ;)It was touching with Brook not listening at first that they weren't Laboon, he was emotional over it.
Well when they saw that rabbit fish that ate Caimie, he didn't freak out either. He actually thought it was pretty small.
My take on the chapter.
Before I start with my opinion regarding this chapter, I warn all of those who usually dont like critics or bashing of the chapter and Oda to simply look away. It will go in the negative, the rest I hope you can take it for what it is my opinion coupled with the feelings I felt after reading this chapter.
So let me start.
This time I will mention the cover. I liked it and was pleasantly surprised with it. Didn't expect Lola to reach water 7 and meet the Franky family. Nice take Oda.
The Chapter
It starts with some really nice scenes and puns/jokes. Nami taking the shower by using her clima-tact and clouds, Chopper mentioning he is fine because he washed himself 2 days ago than thinking the cloud looks delicious and getting smacked by lightning, and naturally Brook and Sanji peeping.
It was a nice start to this chapter, it was that daily life on the Sunny feeling all over again and I liked it.
But than in my opinion Oda goes into "extreme" to justify the plot and the way to go about it. I'll explain myself.
Basically the majority of the remainder of the chapter is one big mess of a fishing gone bad…The problems I have with these are the following:
The only thing I felt about the entire scene was irritation and in the end it didn't feel all that funny and heart touching it was supposed to look like, because of all the unnatural way all the above happened. And I must admit my heart probably stopped a bit too when they were counting members of the crew in the process because I was thinking, god please dont make it to be the next somebody has gone missing thing…
However when they resurfaced I felt better and that last panel was really nice. The scenery and the phrases the crew members used (especially Nami's about the needle gone crazy and Luffy's perfect words...) I loved that part.
All and all for me, not a good chapter for the simple reasons stated above and personally I feel that Oda could do better, much better.
That was it for my "review" I hope nobody has the urge to assault me right now. Now I am off to read some of yours intakes
BTW
Sanji needs a zoan DF to replace Chopper in the shower
So the whales and the current transported them away from Smoker…Smoker rly is an unlucky fellow. :(
Oh Nami, you should know better about leaving anyone from your crew alone and in charge of anything. Even if it is for a shower/fanservice. And why was Chopper allowed in anyway?
But aside from that… BROOK AND WHALES! I don't think I've squeed like that since Brook first mentioned Laboon however many hundreds of chapters ago. I thought it was beautiful that he started playing for them and trying to tell that Laboon was all right. It's so something he would do, and with the whales being related to Laboon, why wouldn't they enjoy it and lend a ride? And hey...
WE'RE FINALLY IN THE NEW WORLD!!
Smoker really got trolled in this chapter.

Related.
nice chapter, i would of liked to see smoker but hey im sure when they finaly do meet again it will be good, so untill then im just going to sit back, relax and wait untill he catches up to the strawhats.
just a side note, i wonder how far that current actualy took them into the new world.

Considering the weather, I assume they're still near the Red Line, just far away from the hole.
Smoker really got trolled in this chapter.
Yeah can't wait to see his expression when he finds out and I do wonder when will that be. Hopefully only when they will be mentioned in the Newspaper again.
Great and funny chapter. This is why I like OP so much :D
And doesn´t matter that they skipped Smoker, the next adventure is surely coming. Can´t wait for it.
@Blue-san: these kinds of accident are typical for the SHs…thought it was pretty cool :D
Great chapter with loads of really funny moments (sanji's counting was priceless) and some really great artwork!
A Brilliant way to start the New World!
caught up in some strange first seen deep sea current
What's this supposed to mean? Don't get me wrong, I respect your opinion and don't hold anything against you for it, but isn't it absurd to think everything needs to be foreshadowed? Especially when the New World is supposed to be full of strange phenomenon?
How else would you propose Oda should have handled this?
And why was Chopper allowed in anyway?
I think the reason Chopper got a free pass was because he cannot ever find Humans attractive sexually; well according to Oda(SBS) atleast. But then, he didn't enter the shower room in Thriller Bark…
Yeah can wait to see his expression when he finds out and I do wonder when will that be. Hopefully only when they will be mentioned in the Newspaper again.
Perhaps it is less "confront Smoker at a marine base" and more "give a reason for Smoker to leave the Marine Base"
Smoker is a chaser and no doubt he is probably tired of the whole pirates in a barrel effect of Marineford - now he can charge out to chase down Luffy rather then a head on fight with the marines showing the SH's strength to marines too early in the story.
I havent seen anybody mention it but its suppose to take 3-4 days (approx by assumption) to get to big mam's cake island, not only did they get diverted from smoker, they might have gotten diverted from big mam's island as well.
My take on the chapter.
fishing gone bad –--> caught up in some strange first seen deep sea current ----> saved somehow, by a bunch of big whales = ending up on an entirely different surface that smoker is on
It was foreshadowed

I know it was mentioned that strange currents exist and what not. No problem with the current itself what I am getting at was all of those things I mentioned put together in order to justify the plot line which at least for me seems over the top, too messy and could have been handled better.
I understand however if none of you felt the same way about it though…

Each to their own, I guess, but if I'd have to criticize stuff that is ridiculous and over-the-top in One Piece It would be a very very long list, lol. It's been ridiculous since the first chapter, that's why people are so easy on this series.

Well real whales move around a lot.
I wouldn't be surprised to discover that Island whales migrate from sea to sea in the OP world. It would explain those scars on their heads too.
Another boring chapter, nothing happened really =O Only fanservice Nami :P
Wow a lot of Nami service this chapter.
This was the funniest chapter I have seen in a while.

the whales are the ones who created the strange current

Very nice, Sanji and Brook crack me up.
I miss one of those "big events" pages that usually go in this kind episodes (like Shanks meeting with Whitebeard) but it was a very pleasant episode. Keep it up Oda, make us forget Fishman Island!
Replace 'us' for 'me'.
This was, to me anyway, a rather boring chapter. I do appreciate that it's a little breather chapter before getting on with a new arc. Still I thought the crew interactions were alright, although I disliked the Nami fanservice scene. I think what it comes down to is that this would be better animated, particularly with the Binks Sake scene.
In any event I'm excited that they're finally in the New World. Looking forward to next chapter.

Actually they created another current which is different from the one the ship got sucked to at the start

eh right i was wrong then, my bad
Cant wait to see this in the anime.

One Piece is an Adventure Manga, not a Battle Manga,
Battles are just part of its adventure…..
Remember Luffy got sucked into maelstorm at very beginning of his adventures. Am I mistaken or theres certain symmetry to this?
Also: Island Wales come from West Blue yet they are in new World, can they cross Calm Belts or is All Blue near?

I don't think it was about the absence of battles. There just wasn't that much going on. My favourite chapters are the ones about the government (so no action) and I still thought this one boring.
I don't know which Brookism to go with,
NEW WORLD
NEW WORLD
or
LABOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON
Could anyone, please, tell me what the heck means 'GAM'?
Definitely pumped for next chapter now!
Hilarious facefaults.
Sanji getting charred and counting only Nami and Robin.
Deep-sea fishing.
A throwback to the Grand Line entry, now with gigantic Laboons.
Surfacing on the vehemently raging and dangerously wild New World sea.
Perfect chapter, couldn't ask for more.
There was some interesting symmetry but the humor and crew interaction felt really off at the beginning of the chapter. I think Oda was trying too hard with with the fanservice scene because it really wasn't funny nor arousing. After that though things picked up and my heart literally jumped when I thought I saw Laboon but thankfully it really wasn't him because it would have been too early. Overall, an alright chapter because really the only thing that happened was them reaching the surface. If you think about it though it was pretty quick compared to the time it took for them to reach Fishman Island.
Ok'ish chapter, Sanji saved it for me.
Really good chapter. The Nami bits were fun for the most part, but the last spread with the whole crew (minus NotMansopp) bearing big excited grins over the prospect of this strange, terrifying New World was satisfying.~

My take on it is. Don't fret over it. Sounds like your upset over how all these crazy things happened all in order to skip smoker. UM HELLO, smoker was shown only at the end of last chapter. If he wasn't shown waiting for SH, would you find this chapter fine then?
Its really just Oda trolling smoker. He could have easily had smoker not be waiting and had this be just some neat entrance. Seeing how everything unique in the one piece universe the strawhats encounter, its not surprising they encounter a worm hole of sorts.
Also: Island Wales come from West Blue yet they are in new World, can they cross Calm Belts or is All Blue near?
This …

I see… but how could it explain those scars? the only reason Laboon got those scars was because he's been desperately waiting for Brook, it's nothing to do with their behavior. Unless you wanted to tell me that those island whales also had a promise with someone.
This …
Why could they not cross the calm belt. They SWIM, they don't need wind to navigate. And look at their size in both being a school of whales and how big they are. They could go through it and not encounter trouble I'm sure.

Considering they in the new world, crossing the calm belt they could encounter some trouble with sea kings.
Luffy found the fabled Warp Zone! Always seems to be his way of getting places
