Magellan isn't a Marine, he's a World Government Chief Warden.
Being an Admiral isn't just about powers and such; you need to be familiar with the whole idea of the Marines. Being the chief-warden in a prison is very different to being an Admiral.
I still can't understand why people want Magellan. I see that he's more popular than the VAs generally, but still, him being an Admiral seems illogical to me.

Well there's several reasons.
First, the Marine is part of the World Government, i don't see a reason why Magellan couldn't be made a marine and "be familiar with the whole idea of Marines" in 2 yrs. Anyway, is job is mostly dealing with pirates, in colaboration with the Marines, it's not like he's newbie on Marine's stuff.

i don't think Magellan will want to continue as chief-warden, and will instead be chasing those lvl 6 people that ran away from Impel Down, and also as i already said, Magellan is the strongest contender in "power level" that was shown.

Either way, this is just speculation, but his character name is after a known portuguese navigator known as Fernão Magalhães, which is commonly translated as Ferdinand Magellan. It's weird Oda choosing such a name to the character and not making him be a "marine" or somekind of.

Also, i think Luffy might want to revenge Bon Clay :P

So Magellan will be promoted to Admiral just so he can chase down the escaped prisoners? He doesn't need the promotion for that. He can do that with like the permission of the higher ups.

The name thing is good and all, but that doesn't mean anything. Momonga, as far as we know, has no relation to the cute little animal and Strawberry, well, you know what I mean. Names can be good for gags, hidden jokes, or hints about the person's abilities (like Onigumo having a spider zoan, or hmpf, Dalmatian~), but they aren't what make a character important.

I don't think Luffy would want revenge.

Does anyone else think that Kaidou will have a Badger Zoan? Badgers can be very ferocious animals and they're fearless too, and they prey on Gekkos (Moria's animal theme). I think it would be very Oda to give Moria's former rival a Zoan that preys on his animal (theme).

I know this ain't new,but my ideas about Big Moms potential tree powers/overall strengts:

Her ability could be tree manipulation/growing trees.

But on a very large scale,abd very fast,it's a potential life-buster,buy controlling tree roots that can wrap around abd kill people,destroy buildings,break up ground.And cause it's controlled by magic,abd prolly manipulated easily,this is a pretty powerful ability.

Hell,maybe her ship is made up of tree rootes,

And as a Yonkou, she has god strength,and hell maybe even all three haki colors,too.

Here's a brand new theory since Oda likes to hide things in plain sight. How about the mermaid statue on this page (the third page of 651) is in fact a real living mermaid who was turned into gold with an ability? She'll be restored to her true form later in another adventure and turn out to be a survivor from the Void Century. And as with all characters she'll be a candidate for the spot of the final member of the SH.

Mihawk was a rival for shanks, crocodile for whitebeard, and moriah for kaidou.

Could this be a patron, whoch means that doflamingo was a rival for big mam or at least has some connection with her?

Mihawk was a rival for shanks, crocodile for whitebeard, and moriah for kaidou.

It's a possibility. Slavery and Big Mam were two of the biggest issues that were brought up during Fishman Island, and Doflamingo is connected to one of them. I believe the SH Pirates will meet him during their trip towards Big Mam's location.

I think Kaidou has a mechanical motif to his crew. We know that one of his crewmates, the ones that Drake met, is a cyborg or something like that. Also, the anime shows the town/city the crewmate came out from to be rather high-tech looking. I know that the high-tech town/city was only seen in the anime, but I doubt Toei would randomly come up with something like that unless Oda told them to do it or if they got their consent, though I think the former is more likely. Judging from his silhouette in Garp's explanation of the Yonko, Kaidou's face also strikes me as rather mechanical-looking.

So yeah, I think Kaidou may either be a cyborg or has a mechanical motif in his crew.

Well, I don't know if you were looking at the anime version of the silhouette. I look at the silhouette we see in the manga, as more accurate. There are subtle differences. I usually try not to trust the anime at all, with what they show. Anyways, here you see Kaidou a little more clearly, but because of the dialogue box, the left side of his face is a bit covered up. Kaidou just looks more maniacal. Sort of how Kidd looks sometimes. He has a sharp nose pointing downwards and sharp evil grin. I can't tell if it's mechanical or anything. There's really not much to theorize on at this point based on the picture.

But it's possible his crew is mechanically oriented. I wouldn't doubt it just yet. My theory is that Kaidou is related to Kidd in some way. Brother? Father? Maybe even a relative? But there's nothing to base this theory on, other than Kidd being shown in that Supernova Pic, having a mechanical arm, and both their names are slightly similar.

okay i got this idea about dragon and why he is the ancient weapon or has the ancient weapon or he ate the ancient weapon

what we can tell for sure is that Dragon's power is related to Air right? So how does he render his power?

I'm going to assume that his power came from a Devil fruit. why? it's because it is the most viable out of:
1. him having a device to control the air –-- it's lame right? just like nami's
2. he uses advanced haki techniques to control it ---- means that anyone can possibly control the air then!
3. or another ability not yet seen that lets you control it (in parallel to life return) ---- gets too complicated if it is

now if it is a DF, what type is it? it can be...

1. Paramecia - he can control the air, just that
2. Logia - he can transform into air but being simply logia means that he can't control the weather!
3. Zoan type - he can transform to a dragon, no air bending shiz

OR! since what im trying to prove here is that his power is one of the ancient weapons, WHAT IF... his DF is a tri-type DF - he can control air, and transform into an air dragon... that's just the real thing for the WG to be afraid off!

Shanks didn't seem to indicate he had any - Neither did WB although where he and Ace was buried might be a contender.

I would be of the opinion that if they stoped patrolling or being Mobile in their Teritory then they could be picked apart by the others - Although that could also explain Captain Kidd being such a concern.

Caribou will (at least try) join the Big Mom pirates. He can pick up almost endless amounts of candy and be the greatest deliverer of candy to Big Mom.

Probably baseless, but it could be a good introduction to her powers, by seeing her defeating Caribou.

I've found a really interesting theory on another forum, credits to milkis and 홍이D . It's not mine. I just thought it would be interesting to show. I haven't found it on apforums yet :)

Reasoning:

On an SMS, a reader points out that all the strawhat devil fruits can be numbered (gomu – (5,6), hito -- (1,10), hana -- (8,7), yomi (4,3)). From this, missing is 2,9 -- "Nikyu". the reader asks if this means Kuma will be joining Strawhats -- Oda responds by saying he's surprised, but his response is "no comment"
Blackbeard and Luffy are polar opposites (bunch of evidence, blah blah). From this, notice how Luffy's Gomu Gomu would "counter" Blackbeard's Gura Gura -- basically, rubber would handle being shaken quite a bit better. This is followed by oda reasoning that he has thought very thoroughly giving Luffy the rubber fruit and there's a specific reason for it (for example, luffy survives many situation because he is rubber).

Because of this, Luffy still needs a way to counter Blackbeard's Yami fruit, which pulls things in with Gravity. Notice how Kuma's Nikyu fruit "repels" -- the fruit is a polar opposite of what the Yami fruit essentially does.

Essentially, it'll be a battle between Gravitation versus Repulsion, which makes sense.

Kuma works closely enough with Vegapunk, and given Kuma helping out Luffy -- one of the conditions could be a way to pull out the devil fruit from Kuma at one point and giving it to Luffy (this part is speculation)

This has been mentioned many times here on AP. Most of us know it, but there's nothing much to talk about, until we see actual evidence within the manga pointing to this.

Blackbeard's fruit would even suck in the Nikyu Nikyu fruit. And Luffy's fighting Blackbeard alone. Why would he need Kuma's help? Whitebeard showed us readers that it was possibly to hit and damage Blackbeard with his Yami Yami fruit. It's just the combination with the Gura Gura fruit that will make it challenging.

That would be kinda stupid. What would be the point of training for two years if they are just going to be curbstomped a few days after entering the New World? Luffy will most likely beat her through dumb luck or the fight will be interrupted midway after some traded blows. Luffy is not going to lose that early.

Luffy has fought enemies stronger than he was (Crocodile, Enel, possibly Moriah) and still won somehow. The same could happen in this situation.

You are underestimating Luffy incredibly, untill Luffy is actually shown getting stomped by Big Mam's crew don't assume so. Luffy defeating Big Mam is the best way for the WG to know he and his crew are officially back, it would also be a huge and needed update to the crews bounties after the SHs defeat Big Mam.

I'm not talking about Luffy winning against a Yonkou. I'm talking about him losing this early. If he loses, all that two-year build-up would've been useless. The point is NOT LOSING against Big Mom. IF he does win, it will be through clever exploitation of a weak point, luck or outside help. Luffy doesn't have to win all the time through his own power.

Luffy doesn't have to be stronger than Big Mom to be able to beat her.

I expect Luffy will defeat Big Mama in an eating contest and they will become friends. Luffy was trained by Raileigh, Zoro by Mihawk. But some of you are making a huge mistake which is inconsistent with the philosophy of the story. The other supernova will have found rare and incredible means to boost their own power just like Luffy's crew has. That's a huge theme in this story, they have ambition and nakama just like Luffy's crew. At least some of the Supernova are on par with the new and improved strawhats. Some may be even stronger at the moment, depending on what means they found by miraculous chance or feat (The strawhat's was that they befriended Kuma the Shichibukai, the other supernova's will have done other things like that which have led to their own strength increases, or the story doesn't make sense and there was no reason for supernova going to the new world at the same time of luffy in the race for one piece.

Big Mam has already been portrayed as a cruel and aggressive person. I don't see Luffy befriending her even if she actually turns out to be Lola's mother.
