Morrowind seems to be getting a graphic (fan-modded) overhaul.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

currently at a part where you dont now what you should do next.
too many quests. prolly gonna do more dark brotherhood and companion stuff first.
also is there any easy way to earn septim? it takes ages to earn some stuff.
-
Level up enchanting. Weapon enchantments sell quite good.
Or you could put some Skillpoints in the speech tallent tree.
It will give you a discount for items you buy, and items will sell for more. -
Okay, i played about 60 hours now (with my Level 38 Nord-Warrior and 10 with my Bosmer-Assassin) and there is still no end in sight. I completed the Main Quest, Companions and the Stormcloaks and now i'm probably doing Thieve's Guild now, since i want every dragon shout.
Let me say … this game is just amazing. On top with the best games i've played so far. I could sit here for month and do nothing else but search for every tiny little quest in Skyrim.
And i still have Arkham City lying around here ...In all the time i've played my game crashed once, but i never had any bugs that made quests impossible or something like that. Sometimes i get severel seconds of "bullet time" when Quick reflexes are activated while i block, but that's the worst/best glitch i've encountered so far.
-
I wish i could finish this game, but then i took an arrow in the knee.
-
Everyone's using that joke now. EEEEVERYONE.
I managed to get a full refund on this one yesterday. Was pretty happy about that. Apparently they've had so many people complaining about the game not working that they've gotta honour it even a month after release (considering this is mainly the problem with the game. The longer you play the higher the game save is and more likely to lag and freeze.)
-
I'll borrowed my ps3 version to a friend. When Bethesda fixes the lag/crashes, i'll give it another go. Just for Trophies.
PC version is so much better, and this is coming from someone who normally isn't much of a pc gamer.
Never had any crashes or annoying bugs. And with some mods this game looks even more amazing. -
I'd very much like to play this game, but the giant spiders don't permit me to. I had a hell of enough time dealing with those in Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, but the fuckers in this game bloody sneak up (or down) on you. Screw that.
-
Shield doesn't look that good.
-
Anyone know a good site to see where bugs could be addressed or places that know a good work around for the 360 version? I'm trying to kill a Dragon for Windhelm at Bonestrewn Crest and the dragon is flying around strangely…backwards...spinning slowly at the top of the sky...I can't hit it at all, it can't seem to land.

Ahhh the flying backwards Dragon. I named mine. Don't remember what it was called tho. It's a pretty common problem with the game. I thought there was supposed to be a patch last week for it tho?
Is it for a real mission or just a misc quest? Personally I'd just nick the word of power and ignore him till the patch comes. Plenty more Dragons out there

Do some more of the main quest. You'll eventually get a shout that forces dragons to land.

@Fire Fist:

lol. That shout's glitched too. Or at least it never ever ever forced a Dragon to land for me XD
-
Nah, never use the shout on the drunk backwards-flying dragon. My game crashed after i used it.
I hate that stupid dragon … -
lol. That shout's glitched too. Or at least it never ever ever forced a Dragon to land for me XD
Yeah I needed that Dragon for a quest. I don't think it's a mission, but I thought I needed to kill it I wanted to work my way up to having a house there. I might name my Dragon Dizzy….or Launchpad McRoar. I got the shout from up there but I don't like not finishing quests lol. Hopefully they release another patch...
-
Patch 1.3 is out now, supposedly fixes the backwards dragons and the magical resistances.
-
I kinda started the game a few days ago and im kinda confused on a lot of things. Can you make poisoned weapons and how can you make an armor which have effects on it using enchantment??
-
@Mark:
I kinda started the game a few days ago and im kinda confused on a lot of things. Can you make poisoned weapons and how can you make an armor which have effects on it using enchantment??
No you can't make a poisioned weapon. You can though make a poison potion and then pour that on your weapon. This will only last for a certain amount of swings I believe. Obviously that # of swings changes depending on the quality of the potion, which you can make with alchemy.
To make armor that has enchantments on it, you simply take the armor you want and go to an enchanters table. Then when the menu opens up, you select the armor you want to enchant for example "Leather Helment" then you select teh enchantment you want to place on it for example "fire resist" Then you select a soul gem that has a soul in it, it can't be an empty soul gem. The bigger teh soul gem the better the effects of the enchantment will be. For example if you use a grand soul gem you will get the max fire resists 30%. If you use a petty soul gem, you will only get like fire resist 10%.
NOW there is one more thing you have to do FIRST before you can enchant. You need to find an item that has "FIRE RESIST" on it first and take it to the enchanters table and disenchant the item. This will then allow you to "FOREVER" enchant any item you want with fire resist.
What I do is, I take and disenchant EVERY item i find in the game, unless its a unique item (which i keep). Then when I enchant I have many options, such as (fire resists, frost resist, heavy armor skill +, smithing skill +, ect). DO NOT SELL enchanted gear, UNTIL you have already tried disenchanting it. If you can't disenchant it because you already have that enchantement, then go ahead and sell it. For example if you find 5 things that give fire resist, you can only disenchant one of them. Then sell the rest. Obvioulsy try and disenchant the one that is worth the least in order to maximize your profit. It does not matter if the item your disenchanting says "fire resist 50% or fire resist 1%" disenchanting either of them will ONLY get you the fire resist. The % means NOTHING. Thus in this case, the 50% will most likely sell for more at a merchent so disenchant the 1% one. Then obviously your enchanting skill kicks in. That fire resist 30%, will increase to like 50% or something if your lvl 100 and have all perks. Plus the final perk allows you to put two enchantments on any single item.
-
You may also add the fact that you should keep an eye out for items that have exceptional stats like, let's say, you find an fire helmet with +60% fire resistance, it may be possible that it's better than a self-enchanted helmet using a grand soul (provides most charges/amount of magic) and with a maxed out enchantment tree, so it may be wise to keep that one (the fire helmet was just an example, I don't know if it exists in the game). You should also keep in mind that you can't put any enchantment on every piece of armor, helmets for example don't allow enchantments for resisting elemental effects (fire, ice and shock in skyrim), so that would be another reason to keep something like this. Lastly, you can't disenchant certain items (like daedric artifacts), which is a shame. Would have been nice to have perk for enchanting on 100 that allows to disenchant them. Two enchantments on one item is pretty nice, but taking the ebony mail effect and casting it on light armor would be the best thing ever.
-
From what I've seen, any item that has a stat bigger than what you can do by enchanting is only a single stat item, while you can produce two stats with enchanting. The single stat isn't high enough to make up for losing an entire extra stat boost. I disenchanted boots that had 50 carry weight or so, and my enchantment without potions is only good for 37, but it's good for 37 and another stat, like +40% sneak. You only sacrifice the 13 carry weight for it, which is definitely a win in the end.
If you have a choice, always disenchant the crappiest version you can find. "Enhance Carry Weight" is the same enchantment you get whether you disenchant iron boots or daedric boots that have the stat, and regardless of how powerful said enchantment is (+10 or +50).
There are also hidden versions of enchants that you might not even know exist. Linwe's armor, for example, all disenchants into stuff like "shadowweave" which increases a single stat by more than the normal enchantment version of the same stat. It also allows you to boost the same stat twice on a single item by giving you two separate enchantments for it, if you really wanted to do that, which would blow away any of those huge single stat items you can find.

♫~ Dashing through the snow, toward the dragon I will slay. O'er the fields I go, shouting all the way (FUS RO DAH!), fell it with my sword, steal its soul so bright, O what fun it is to sing a slaying song tonight. O, Dragonborn, Dragonborn, a dragon's after me. I just hope that I don't take an arrow to the knee! ~♪
Figured I'd share some holiday awesomeness with yall.

If anyone hasn't seen it yet and wants to take advantage of it, Skyrim is on sale on Steam for $40 until around 1PM tomorrow.
-
As much as I have enjoyed this game until now, I have come across two insanely shitty glitches that almost kind of killed off my motivation to go on further. First, my orc warrior is stuck the companions hall, because leaving the building results in Whiterun not loading properly every time, so yeah, until there's a patch for that, the character is useless. Maybe it's kind of my fault for not even having an autosave, but it still sucks.
And something I'm not sure of what it is, but my new Argonian mage has ridiculously fast magic recovery after doing the cleansing quest in the college. I know that was intentional, but should it really be this long? Hope this is not another game-breaker…
I kind of feel like an dumbass for believing I might actually go through a Bethesda game without at least one major bug fucking me royally in the ass. -
The autosave is evil like that. Leave it on and your chance of the game lagging and crashing increases by 200%
Leave it off and if you get a nasty glitch like that you can't just load from a recent save a few minutes earlier.
-
!
! Finished the main quest but kinda undecided on stormcloaks or imperials -
SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA CCCCCCEEE.
-
lol never noticed that in the game and went there tons of times. Or is it juts a cool mod?
-
Cool OFFICAL valve mod.
Cross promotion sorta deal, with steam now running a mod section for it's moddable games. Few clicks and poof game modded.
-
Man, I miss playing this game. Hopefully I can visit my cousin again soon…
-
So I bought the game yesterday and installed it. Going to go home tonight, install ~10 mods, and then get at it!

What mods are ya using? I hear some mods only look good in screenshots so I never know which ones I'd end up using.
-
I am using:
SkyUI
RWT Realistic Water
ENB
Vurt's Flora Overhaul
Nicer Snowflakes
Realistic Smoke and Embers
Alernate Sunglare
Enhanced Night Sky
Enhanced Blood
Realistic Ragdolls and ForceSo pretty much just graphics mods, I don't really care much for game changing mods.
Here's some screenshots if you care:
[hide]
[/hide]Runs at around 40-50 FPS most of the time with AA off. Only thing I can complain about is the camera's a little jerky for my taste but I hear that's just the game engine.
Edit: It seems a few of my mods were not working because of the official HD textures. I followed some instructions to override them so hopefully it works next time I play.
-
-
DO WANT!!!!!!!!….............
Also, this new mod system on steam is freaking sweet. I always wanted to play Oblivion and take advantages of it's mods, but I'm so chicken shit when it comes to fucking around with programs. If they integrate this mod system into the steam version of Oblivion, I'll buy it in a heartbeat.
-
If you have the Steam version of Oblivion, which it seems like you do, if you do end up screwing your game up you just have to redownload it. Or you could copy the whole folder to someplace else and just copy it back if you mess something up. It's not like the game's ruined forever. And unless you have a bunch of conflicting mods there's not very mych of a chance of messing anything up anyway.
-
Please let at least half of this be in the DLC. Mounted combat, spears, flails, fire&ice arrows and spell combination would improve the combat so immensely.
Also, while I understand that most of this stuff would have been too hard to include in the game short before release, but why the hell didn't the giant mudcrab make it.
Giant mudcrab > Dragons -
Werebear > Mudcrabs > Dragons

Aw man
http://www.awesome-robo.com/2012/02/farewell-adam-adamowicz-visual-mind.htmlEarlier today we learned that Adam Adamowicz, one of the main concept artists behind Fallout 3, Skyrim and other Bethesda titles, passed away today. It was silently announced, but I'd like to shine some light on Adam because he was an anomaly in the game industry, a veritable one-man conceptual machine, who unlike his contemporary counterparts, did a majority of his work in non digital mediums. Fallout 3 was pretty much visually designed from the ground up by one humble man who got little to no recognition, nor sought it.
For those who are unaware, I also work in the videogame industry as a concept artist and often sought inspiration from what other conceptual designers were doing in the industry. Back when Fallout 3 was released, it came with a making of DVD showcasing how the game was built from the ground up. When Adam's art pit showed up in the video, with his own hand drawn art covering every inch of space from the ground up in his cubicle I was nothing short of blown away, and filled with inspiration.

For those who haven't heard, we've got our first DLC.
"Dawngaurd"
That image and the title is all we know about this.
We've been promised more info at E3.As someone who has sunk over 300 hours into Skyrim with 5 different characters, and has actually cleared every dungeon in the game with one of those characters, I'm super freaking excited.
I've been looking for a reason to lose some more of my life to this game, and I can't wait. -
yep seen that.
just hoping its not about dragons. -
I heard they were going to put Spear type weapons in the game I hope that will be in it
-
I saw that there was a patch today. Any idea what was in it? Since last patch seemed to be bullet time arrows which my assassin loves greatly lol.
-

Nothing is confirmed yet, spears have been only shown in the GameJam video. Todd said he would like to include the stuff from the video (kill cam for ranged combat and kinect already made it, but they are also logically the easiest to implement), but what else might make it into the DLC is unknown.
Yeah, no real point in trying to predict anything about this DLC, the name Dawnguard is as generic as a Elder Scrolls title can be. -

Looks fantastic. Hopefully, you can actually fight with the vampires the entire time, and actually win.
My favorite character that I created is a Volkihar Vampire, as I love playing along with the mythology, so it be really cool to dominate with her.
Also, may I say that I love how it appears that we'll finally be able to feed on people who aren't asleep?!And, as a reverse, I'll enjoy decimating vamps everywhere when I play through with my paladin.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
I'm just annoyed that I'll have to wait for this, as I have the game on the PS3.
-
crossbows sound amazing
-
Man, that looks really nice.
Obviously they included the vampire lords from the gamejam video, another thing that made it from that presentation after killcams for ranged attacks, the kinect application (ugh) and mounted combat.
I assume the place with the blue sky would be Molag Bal's Coldharbour, since you can see some guy with a Molag Bal broach and an altar with his head, would make sense since he is the original source of vampirism in TES, it's also an effective way to promote the main villain for the coming TESOnline. Plot sounds kind of redundant, vampires plan to steal the sun, vampire hunters try to defeat them, join either one of them. Oh, there will also be something about the Falmer again, some leaks mentioned the snow king and you can see a Falmer being axed in the face during the trailer, which to me is much more interesting than the sun plot device. What I liked is that it looks like there are different designs for the vampire lords, maybe depended on race or stage of infection. There is also some new stuff that looks promising like the giant ice ogre, the dragon diving into the ice, a flaming horse mount which reminds me of Rapidash, except it's blue and undead, and of course crossbows. -
I look forward to scamming Molag Bal in the same way I scammed Hircine.
Also can't wait to see Meridia's reaction to all this.
