On a serious note, this was a fantastic chapter, especially happy to read it as soon as I wake up, when I was expecting spoilers. -

Not to say that ms didn't have its fair share of mistakes or didn't make any this chapter but they did a way better job than the mr guys this time.
The pages are nicer to look at, better typesetting and the translation isn't littered with grammatical errors and misspellings. Credit where credit is due. -

I love all the details in this chapter. I especially love that even this translation makes clear that Akainu and Aokiji fought evenly for awhile before the fight was decided. Cause otherwise people would assume that it was just Magma > Ice and that's it.
I still get the feeling Caribou will come back and mess things up for everyone. Big Mam sounds like a distraction the SHs can't ignore.

If crew were to understand the intention of Caribou trying to capture Shirahoshi and guess Caribou overheard Neptune and Robin.
We really might get to see a Reverie Arc.
And I don't think Big Mom's messengers should be that big of a deal. Messengers should be rookies thus shouldn't be a threat for the monster trio. -
So I just want to put things in perspective. Akainu leading the Marines full force into the New World is making them stronger? I guess this is a possibility, but I'd also think they'd be facing many casualties as well. But being this is what Jinbe said, we have to take his word for it. The newly or additional presence in the New World could if we are to consider the rising ambitions amongst all marines to be stronger, a great benefit for the WG.
As for Aokiji being missing in action, all I can think of is that he'll play a major role by the end of the series, where he'll take Akainu's place as Fleet Admiral. I think that's Oda's end goal for his character. What intrigues me about fights lasting days is that I just hope we get to see Luffy be in one of those type battles?
Now, for the issue with Big Mam, is Oda really going to have the SH crew stay and wait for her to either calm her down, or to fight her? Technically, if Oda wanted to, the factory could be rebuilt. Franky could help if he uses his skills, to help rebuild the factory, so as to end this potential conflict. But that's if the crew and Fishman Island want to be under this type of threat, that if they don't give her candy, she'll destroy the country. That could be the cause of perhaps Luffy wanting to stay and battle her. The thing is, is Luffy capable already to fight a Yonkou? Because I really hope not. Not that I believe it's impossible, but I would have at least liked to see a good battle of someone of slight lower standings, before going to this level.
All the other minor details were nice. Sanji and Zoro are able to sense through COO haki that something was going on above. Caribou, even though he isn't that great of a threat physically seems to be always lucky getting away from being beaten up badly by the crew. But now he knows something that could trigger a new campaign for the WG if this all gets out, which would be to capture Shirahoshi. And of course seeing the NFP all withered away was nice. I thought Oda last chapter was going to keep them as they were before in prison, because that didn't make a lick of sense.

I guess without gura-gura would make more sense, if there's "strangely enough" in the text.I don't think BB is consuming more fruits himself, and I certainly hope that not all of them are going into the crew. It's going to be a big trouble in case they all fall in water… Or is Wolf in charge of that?

The Tamatebako(which contained the ES) is from the tale of Urashima Taro in which he gets it from the Ryuugu palace and is told to not open it, he however does and ages as a result, so it makes sense bif it works the same way here.

Ok this chapter was pure genius.
Quite a few very important twists and basically set ups.
1) Caribou finding out about the princess being an ancient weapon is almost like letting Genie out of a bottle. Because if this information was secured and practically impossible for the rest of the world to find out. Now we will probably have to settle that once Caribou gets out of FI, this thing could spread like fire or in other words, there is no way telling who and when will learn of it, but any individual from that point on knowing about it. Oda can make it legit and that is a bit too dangerous for FI
2) It was now confirmed without any doubt for those who still had it. Luffy and in general the great trio can feel a presence of a) big power b) strong ill intentions.
That is how they found and prevented Caribou from taking the princess.3) Instead of simply catching the dude, they send him flying (this has to be one of the most annoying things in this chapter. Well the only annoying thing, but it is a huge one. However it sets off the entire let's go find Caribou and take his treasure theme and since Caribou said he will go to New World we can now only speculate which will it be, will they find and capture him first or will they follow him into New World (I personally hope it is not the later)
4) However to twist it a bit further. This gets a spin of epic proportions when we learn that Big Mam has actually sent some kind of convoy in the form of two men:
- Mr. Bokoms
- Baron TamagoWhoever they are, they probably ain't the type to just carry yonkou's luggage or messages and in the final sentence we get the confirmation that Big Mam is not the kind sort of a Yonkou some may have expected, since it seems, she protects countries or adds them to her territory BUT in exchange she wants monthly gifts in form of sweets (which in a way makes this a bit ridiculous (her entire character) however this is a shounen and yeah, although I would reather these kind of themes to be of serious notion, no matter the twist, I just can't take it that serious and likely that someone would be so obsessed with sweets but let us wait and see.)
5) Now we should be done right? This should be it by all standards, such revelations in just one chapter, such set ups… However there is more. We learn that Not only Blackbeard has taken his Yonkou position (that was pretty much clear from the get go ), but we also find out that Marines have had a great "incidents" and that even if Akainu taking the sit of a Fleet Admiral is not such a surprise the departure of Aokiji from the Marines surely must be.
It poses many questions.
For starters, we also learn that Marines have started to really get into the entire Absolute Justice thing, which probably means we will see a lot more cruel, brutal and less talkatative Marines from now on. What it also does is... that with the withdrawal of men like Garp, Sengoku and Aokiji (the so called good guys of Marines) we know get a more crystal picture of them and it isn't looking so much grey now as it does black. (Now personally I do not like that fact that this makes them much less complex and much more straightforward - bad guys material)
What I mean to say here is the following.
While we could before the war at marineford seriously think about who is in the right. The Marines the White beard pirates... Are Marines in general good or bad... there were no simple answers to that, just like in real life. You have good and the bad and do not get me wrong. I do not say that this has changed completely. No, however it does go in one particular direction and it does feel as the setting for the future state of events if you see where I am going with this.And another thing about this (Marines) They have lost Garp and Sengoku (at least in a fighting sense) they had to replace an Admiral and so naturally we were all thinking yeah so now they need a new Admiral. However wam comes Oda makes this twist and all of a sudden we see him almost bringing it all to ground zero.
They actually are missing two admirals now...
Not to mention that currently as far as we know they only have- Mihawk
- Boa
- Kuma
- Doflamingoin the ranks of shibukai. So they need to fill that as well I guess (and while we were laughing that they could take buggy and have in fact seen him receiving a letter from them…
Who will be the people to fill the Marines ranks? I personally believe that there will be some new ones but some old faces as well. Who knows at this point but this is one major problem for them. They were all panicking when they lost 1 one of those positions, are they in chaos now?
6) And I wanted to leave this for last. The above is not all what I intentionally forgot to write in my previous wall of text was that we learn about probably the 2 most important things in this entire Chapter.
a) That there are actually 3 ancient weapons
b) That BB can somehow extract more Devil Fruits*a) I won't say much about this, only that it is interesting and it will surely raise many debates I will gladly read and get involved in.
*b) This one however…is really really major. And I will say it here that my wish is, for this to please not go in the direction of Heroes and Syler (he is the man in Heroes who takes away the powers of other heroes )
The problem with that would be, that 1) he would get way overpowered 2) it takes away from the uniqueness of the DF powers and makes it dull in general for me personally. Ok he can take away powers, but he can't have them for himself. That is my hope, otherwise this one I do not like at all for valid reasons and not preference.Ok that is it. That way my take on the chapter. I hope someone at least reads it and I haven't wrote it for myself only

How the heck did BB overtake Whitebeard's turfs … I mean I do know he would know which islands were his, but what about the OTHER WB commanders? Won't they defend the turfs or something?
The whole world is now in chaos!! I love it! It seems that ONLY Shanks is the GOOD Yonkou!! I mean he did fight with Kaidou before the war (so I assume they were opposite sides).
And now we know Big Mam will come and "destroy" FI because of NO CANDY (classic)

Aokiji as he calls it is a follower of "lazy justice", which just means that if he deems it morally correct he'll let some things slide whereas akainu is an zealot of "absolute justice". They're just not compatible in general.

Either one of the monster trio (for example Sanji) will fight Caribou + Coribou (one alone is fodder) and Zoro/Luffy the 2 messengers
or Luffy will rest after his fight with Hody and Sanji and Zoro take care of the messengers… which may give them even higher bounty raises

I don't have a problem with the power itself but rather its none specified limitations which don't seem to exist.
As for your examples they're bad. In Naruto everyone with a sharingan has ability stealing powers which might as well be every villain.
Kuroro ability has several restrictions and by itself isn't broken. He even has to have his book materialized to use any ability and even than there might be some abilities he might not able to use due their requirements(for example if he were to steal Killuas ability of electricity he might not be able to use it since he doesn't have the same resistance to it).But anyways somewhat the wrong thread for this.

I think this chapter at least supports my idea that Impel down is now a part of the marines. Thus its personal will have marine ranks. Magellan an admiral at least a vice admiral. That it supports my idea, is that marines have been given greater power in the world government.

My bet is that the correct one is "with the help of the gura gura no mi" because that just makes more sense considering how he specifically aimed for that fruit to gain the power to conquer the world. -

Yeah, but Alina said that maybe he wasn't happy with the 2nd fruit (gura fruit), so he hunts powers which fit more to him.
But rite after he took WB's power he was proud "obtaining the 2 most dangerous fruits in the world". Seaquakes are serious after all in a world like OP.
I think he hunts them for his crew to get even stronger.
Spandam also had such thoughts when he fed Kaku and Kalifa.
But otherwise this means they are limited to 8-9 fruits to collect (if we count Stronger = 9, because BBs = 10 - BB - Laffite = 8 + Stronger = 9)
But then if BB can extract fruits from living people he can feed his crewmates with different fruits always searching for the most powerful ones.
If they find a strong fruit he feeds Burgess with it,
if they find an even stronger fruit he could extract Burgess 1st fruit and feed him with the stronger one. know what i mean? -

He's a total douche so I wouldn't put it past him to claim to be a logia when he isn't.
I'm pretty sure it's a paramecia with logia-like ability to nullify attacks due to it's properties.
