@wolfwood:
That he was knocked down into a hole obviously for plot purposes as we need to get rid of Akainu for a moment to move the story on, we then cut to a crucial scene, once that scene is over we see Akainu again on his feet looking fit for fight with no time frame on when he got up. I say he got knocked down, certainly took some damage, but it was no fight finisher, more like a first bell.
You're using the no time frame excuse to argue Akainu could have just been plotting his re-entrance and not recovering from a critical injury. Only person I've seen disagree WB owned Akainu in two hits. So many other exchanges in the war where fighters take damage but are shown to be still standing(croc vs. Jozu) and the one time somebody goes missing for 2 chapters after sustaining, what looked to most like, heavy damage its not because they were out of commission but "just because" or they decided to take a time-out.
I feel like we are not using the word the same. To me one or twoshotting someone is what Zoro would do to someone like Higuma. He one hit kills them in a single move and they can't dodge, block, or otherwise fight back because the diffrence in their ablity is so huge that to them it's akin to him swatting a fly.
I meant to put "wasn't two-shotted" since he was able to keep on fighting after some time. Never going to agree that he would have taken another shot or two from WB.
And i call bullshit on being taken out. You can't be taken out if your up and fighting right after. It's a knock down, a brutal knock down even, damage was clearly dealt, but as we can plainly see he wasn't taken out of the fight. To me taken out means your out of the war, your almost out of your life, you're three inches short of being killed. Just coughing up blood and falling in a hole which you come up from in a few moments does not cut it for me.
Those are two different things. He was able to continue fighting in the war later. He clearly was not able to retaliate against WB and didn't continue fighting him. That means he was taken out of the fight, which is not the same thing as a war.
And you keep trying to downplay how long Akainu was out. Its fine if you think he could have been conscious most of the time he was out but he was most definitely out a relatively long time.
I can't down or up play something on which we have no leg to stand on. As we never saw when he got up, we do know he spent some time tunneling under the whitebeard pirates to cut them off.
You have no legs to stand on. We know he was gone a while. The most likely reason is because those injuries hurt him. You're the one now arguing he could have been tunneling for while as if we have any idea how easy it is for him to tunnel underground.
How much time was a on the ground groaning, and how much time was he plotting and tunneling? Who can tell.
I thought you'd be a little less blatant on the idea or even dismiss the idea you think he could have been plotting and tunneling underground. You're basically coming up with fanfiction. In your world Akainu wasn't owned by WB. He simply tricked the old man so it would be easier to go after his real target.
What kind of ordinary scenario would entail Jinbe sticking out his chin and asking Hody to take three of his best shots withouth him blocking, dodging or fighting back. It's like when people said the strongest man in the world meant that he could lift the most weight, yeah you could interpert it that way but it's obviously not the first answer that you'd think of.
Only a retarded would believe that. In shounen the strongest means most powerful. The person most likely to win any 1on1 fight. It is not an alien idea to only talk about damage when nothing else is explicitly stated. His comment was simply Hodi would three shot Jinbe like he's a nobody. That already entails he doesn't believe Jinbe has any shot of defending himself.
They could dodge, parry, block, go on the offensive, fight defensivly and counter. Just look at Aokiji

I think Aokijis comment at his supposed death pretty clearly defines my stance on anyone oneshotting a world power.
But to be clear. I'm not saying that i'm not leaning towards Whitebeard winning. Just saying that against a shichibukai, an admiral or a yonkou they'd make a fight of it.
No they cannot. Aokiji is Aokiji what he can do means absolutely nothing regarding anybody who is not a top tier. Warlords automatically loose to WB. They cannot block, dodge, evade, or counter anything from WB if he wants them dead. It would take luck for the M.Trio to defeat Jinbei, Kuma, or Iva pre-ts. It would take a miracle for Jinbe group to not be killed by WB if he wanted them dead. There is no leaning towards WB. They would not make it a fight it would Ronse&John giant all over again. WB, Garp, Shanks, Rayleigh, etc. massacre a warlord who tries to stand up to them. Why are you forgetting Ace's 100 failed attacks against a WB just minding his own business. Replace Ace with Jinbei, Kuma, Iva, Luffy now, Hodi, Shilliew, Oars, etc. the results are exactly the same and this is relaxed WB not WB with killing intent.
What discussion on a fan forum is not pointless?
