@Czechmate:
Why do people keep bringing up Fukaboshi? He's more than likely going to be the prospective king of FI after Neptune, and either way him being the prince of a WG-allied nation travelling with pirates that are bound to deal some harsh blows to if not destroy the WG by the end of the series is a no-no.
While I think you're right, I also think that we'll be getting to points in the story in which they'll stop wanting to be part of the world government. I don't think the tennryubito letter is all sunshine and lollipops; there's probably a catch that will piss people off, and then we have fishman island as yet another part of the revolution.
And that's an even stronger argument for Fukaboshi sticking around. We've been shown how powerful the princes are, and how Shira can summon sea kings. Their kingdom will need that strength much more than the Straw Hats if they want to be really free, especially if they turn against the world government.
@igetownd:
I wonder if anyone tried the "Horoscope Theory".
It's my self-described theory of which characters will join the crew. While looking up astrological signs for a CS assignment (summer school, and a dumb textbook), I read the description of Aries and thought "OMG it's describing Luffy! Luffy's an Aries! He totally is! Am I seeing things? No I'm not!" and then proceeded to read the rest of the signs to see if I can find other SH personalities. I found ALL of them.
Luffy–>Aries
Zoro-->Scorpio
Nami-->Taurus
Usopp-->Capricorn
Sanji-->Leo
Chopper-->Virgo
Robin-->Aquarius
Franky-->Sagittarius
Brook-->Libra
That leaves 3 signs left: Gemini, Cancer, and Pisces
Otohime makes a perfect Pisces, but I suppose Jinbe would fit too.
I suppose that anyone could have easily thought this, and it probably was posted on the forum somewhere before (couldn't find one, but I'm bad at searches). And maybe this theory doesn't deserve it's own thread, but it's not in it's own thread :P
Also, I remember there was an SBS entry where Oda commented that Luffy's birthday makes him a Taurus, but his personality is an Aries. Thus, Oda himself gives this theory credibility.
I think 12 is a nice rounded number too.
You are thinking too much about this. Sure, we could go all numerology and astrology on who will join next, but we could also NOT do that and just follow the story and draw logical conclusions.
edit: On the issue of Bonney, I agree with Don Quichotte in the sense that the potential is there, but it's sooo far off that speaking of it now is fanfiction and speculation. I do agree that given the hints she will play a role in future events, but it's better to speak of it when we get there.
Same goes for arguing against it. Saying there's not enough SH interaction is a silly argument seeing how we haven't gotten to a part in the series in which that is likely. Also, the argument that Law has more interactions but is not likely to join either is also poor, seeing how Law has an active crew that has gotten screentime, while Bonney's crew got owned by BB.
