That is not what Jinbe is afraid of. He's afraid that it would inspire another Fishman like Hodi or Arlong. Not humans. The whole p[oint of this arc is reparations between Humans and Fishmen, and for it to end in violence with a Human beating a Fishman it could be viewed as more of the same. How are things really different?

Now, most of the fishman on the island won't think this now that Hodi has announced his cleansing, but most of the alos believe the Straw Hats to have kidnapped mermaids and to have attacked the royal palace, so they're not exactly the best people to beat Hodi.

Yeah…the Fishman Pirates invading already hate humans. Luffy beating down Hodi won't change that. The people who want to migrate to the surface would get a POSITIVE message from a human beating up the Fishman that wants to enslave / murder them. What is Jimbei's logic here?

Also, I still don't think Hodi killed Otohime (neither did VDD) and that there is more going on below the surface here. The attempt to migrate was not only stopped 16 years ago, but also several hundred years ago. Given the Poneglyph and this "Joy Boy", I think it's clear something bigger is going on in this arc that has been ongoing for centuries. Hodi seems to be just a pawn. I think the real villains of this arc will take action after Hodi is defeated when it seems like everything has been wrapped up.

You are looking at it the wrong way. Hodi was inspired because Luffy took down Arlong. If Luffy takes down Hodi, another fishman who would be inspired by Hodi would arise. Luffy would be known as someone who hates fishman to that fishman and who knows, he could come to be a strong foe. Thats Jimbes logic expanded.

Considering how much damage a single sword attack did to Hody, why didn't he use a more powerful attack to get him quicker? Couldn't Usopp and Brook have done something to help? I get that he couldn't breath, I'm just very underwhelmed by how this situation played off. I thougth 3 post time skip straw hats could do more than that, even under water.

I understand what Jimbei is saying…I just don't agree with it. Otohime proved that the hearts of the people of Fishman Island could be swayed. Luffy's greatest strength is his ability to make allies wherever he goes as Mihawk pointed out at the battle of Marineford. Any confusion about the Straw Hats kidnapping mermaids could easily be cleared up by Shirahoshi and Jimbei.

It makes perfect sense. Not everyone agreed with Otohime. There are probably many who champion what Hodi is doing, and a human beating Hodi down will do nothing to the sentiment for those who hate humans. This is a Fishman/Merman problem, and it needs to be solved by Fishman or else the cycle will repeat itself again. Hodi became the new Arlong, and someone will take his place if Luffy defeats him.

remember that one attack already incapacitated Hodi. He only came back because one of his subordinates stuck Evil Drugs down his throat while he was passed out lol

I know this probably a stupid idea but what if it was Koala that made the poneglyph and it was meant to apologize to Fisher Tiger or the Sun Pirates in general for what
happened to him, i'm almost certain it's not the case but Robin did say it looks like an apology letter so who knows.

Hody is and iiiidiot. Those ES pills have warped his fishbrain. I expect Luffy vs Jenbei to be like Luffy vs Zoro on Whisky Peak. Nami and or Robin will spank some sense into them.
Seeing both Zoro and Usopp both yelling at Brook was great. Good to see the crew still doing impressions of each other.

The Poneglyph seems to me like an apoplogy from the ancient kingdom, that they regret that the fishman and merman had to hide in the deep sea, because they lost the battle in the VC.
Could mean that those fishman already lived above sea, but when the WG gained power they were forced down there.
"Joy Boy" could either mean a person who was that important hundrets of years ago, or it could be somekind of prophecy which would point at Luffy.
Iam a bit curious why the poneglyph lies there in the sea forest..not that hard to spot for the WG to take it away.
Maybe they left it there on purpose, because that shows how much power they had.

About Jinbe fighting Luffy…Never it will be any longer as a few hits on both sides.
Iam a bit disappointed that Jinbe couldn`t see that coming.He should know Luffy never would stop, even when Jinbe may be right.

If Jimbe only takes down Hodi (not kill him) than everything will be fine. Jimbe knew Arlong so he can easily win the favor of the fishman district. Its definitely more probable that fishman hating Luffy ala humans is worse than fishman hating Jimbe and Jimbe alone.

I thought Jinbe's logic is easy to understand, in fact it's really simple and straight to the point: do not feed any more the hate cycle.

Of course, conflict will happen, and there's no way in hell the SH won't fight Hodi and co.

But the 3 princes + Jinbe taking care of Hodi's gang while the SH take care of an hipotetical Hidden Big Boss would be absolutely perfect.

Anyways, good chapter. The humoristic parts and the "Joy Boy" thing made the chapter.

Great chapter, very tension fill and we now know whats on the line and where everyone is (save for Caribou). So with all the exposition out of the way, time to do some battling! Next chapter, plz =D.

My thoughts exactly… There's NO WAY these two are gonna square off...WTF???... If anything it's gonna be like the luffy zoro fight. I kinda feel like either Jinbe is gonna try and stop him of he asks him to let him join him and lead the attack or something like that. I just can't see these two really going at it. Especially when they only have three hours to sort this out. Like my man said ^^^^ up above Nami is gonna sort those two out.

Because Brook is real useful underwater right…. Unless they wanted brook to die Usopp had to save Brook. And like people said above Zoro's under water. Give the guy a break. As far as Zoro was concerned he judged Hodi's strength, dealt him a critical blow and then tried to get out of there so that he could help Usopp and Brook so they don't die. How would Zoro know the guy was gonna pop an ES and be back in the game like that.

I know what you mean by being disappointed but the odds were stacked against them. Zoro had more on his mind then deal Hodi a killing blow. And like I said as far as he was concerned he put Hodi out of the picture for a little while.

As far as the actual chapter went. Great chapter. Favorite part had to be the Robin impression. So true lol. Usopp's eyes were just like Robin's eyes haha. But all in all the ball is rolling now.
