    • RE: Chapter 791: "Rubble"

      Nice chapter, mainly for the Kyros part, which is pretty much the only Dressrosa character I enjoyed.

      Still hoping Don Flamingo has room for some "last moment" act. Sure, he was overhyped, which only made me expect more out of him, but…. it just felt like his battle with Luffy was a little too obvious?

      I know I'm being way too hopeful for a REAL twist from Oda, but isn't it right to say that Doffy is nothing but the "Crocodile" of the New World? Rules a city, looks invincible, but in the end is defeated and literally EVERYONE (I'm looking at you, Law) is safe and sound.

      @Sick_Fool:

      It's a bit dumb to assume that a mere half-page flashback is the totality of Doflamingo's history. C'mon people.

      Agreed. I find this backstory more interesting because we all expected Doflamingo to be a renegade world noble but it turns out it was his father who wanted to severe their ties with the nobility afterall, and that Dofla, all along, was just a spoiled brat who wanted nothing of the simple life his father sought for himself and his family.

      That's where Corazon will fit the role of noble-that-learned-a-lesson-over-tragic-event. We clearly see 2 kids on the bed scene, one standing and the other holding his mother, Oda just hinted that for a future Law/Corazon flashback.

      I'm betting we'll get a decent explanation over his mother's death, plus Corazon will have literally the opposite reaction to the event, turning into a good man.
      Not sure how Dofla's treatment of his family fits on this flashback, to be honest his attitude is kinda confusing when it comes to his subordinates.

    • RE: One Piece 724 : Law’s Plan.

      I'm not following the story as closely, so here's a question:

      If Law's true plan was to stop the production of Smile, why did he let the one and only guy that knows how to make it (Caesar) alive, leaving a remote chance that DD saves Caesar and manages to start all over the Smile factory?

    • RE: Chapter 694: A Very Dangerous Man

      I'm ok with this "twist" on DoFlamingo's personality, as long as we get some reasoning to the whole Bellamy episode. He did force the guy to fight his own mate (the last scene has Sarquiss presumably stabbing Bellamy to death), and now all of a sudden he's "not such a bad guy". Some background would be appreciated.

      Law stole the entire PH arc. Beats Smoker, makes an alliance with SH to challenge a Yonkou, and when you think he's done for, we get this chapter. Hardly any character can be as broken as Law.

      Smoker "losing" was more or less an excuse to not show everything he can do. After all, he's a rival to Luffy, so if one day he actually goes all out, it's gonna be against him. A full-blown Smoker battle right now would tarnish a final duel with Luffy.

      The more I think about it, the more I realize that Smoker is even worse than Zoro when it comes to handicaps in fights, hopefully Oda will manage to keep this without getting too repetitive.

    • RE: Chapter 652: "Grim Prospects Ahead" -Discussion

      We've seen only a bit of BB's powers, so it's kinda early to consider the yami-yami "nothing". So far we know that with the fruit:

      • He can cancel all devil fruit's abilities, not just Logia;
      • You don't need to take any special training or have innate Haki, all he had to do was eat the fruit;
      • He can "draw" enemies to his direction, avoiding the "long distance attack" strategy used by Logias, thus rendering their natural advantage useless;

      Regardless, you could also say he was just bragging about his new abilities, or simply that Oda wanted to make his first official statement that there are ways to stop Logias, considering that back then we saw Aokiji completely destroy the Strawhats. It just happened that BB chose, for whatever reason, to do it the quick, evil way: kill his comrade to obtain more power.
      Ace's surprise to that Logia counter could have many reasons, but I'd say it was simply meant to showcase how much of a monster BB is, managing to overcome a Logia so early.

    • RE: Chapter 641: "What are you?"

      You know, I like the "Hody is Fisher Tiger's son" theory, though I'm not sure how the entire population of Fishman Isle (including Fukaboshi) missed that the hero's lineage was amongst them all this time. Why hide that information for so long? Why is it supposed to be a secret, anyway?

      Not digging this lame excuse to have Luffy fight Jinbei, since we know it won't be a REAL fight, 'cause in the end they're still buddies. Aside from that, great chapter, I like Hodi's speech, let's hope he can pose a real threat.

    • RE: Chapter 627: "Indebted" Discussion

      Nice chapter, kinda predictable though, killing most of secret boss theories. Anyone really expected different reactions from Nami and Sanji?
      Everything points to the New Fishmen Pirates as the bad guys and possibly some mid-way intervention by Van Der Decken and Caribou just to keep things somewhat equal, since the "named" New Fishmen are clearly outnumbered by all the Strawhats, plus 3 princes and Jinbei's gang.
      Honestly, none of them look capable of posing a real threat, even if they use ES. Oda has already made that point with Luffy kicking Decken and Zoro slashing Hodi, both without much difficulty. ES is pretty much the leverage they need to avoid a complete beatdown and pretend they can have a "fair" fight.
      I think these battles will only be eye-candy of the new skills each Strawhat learned during the timeskip, since the rematch with the Pacifistas was kinda bland on that issue, just showing that they "improved", without much detail.
