Yeah, it only has Jimbei in the middle of everything and affected by everything going on, forming bonds with every character involved, narrating the story himself, and getting screentime every time Tiger or Arlong is on panel, getting his first bounty, arguing with Arlong… oh, and he was observing Otohime, so he was in that scene too.

Jinbe isn't in all the scenes. we don't see what Jinbe say to the mugiwaras, we see what oda tell us.

Well, as we've gone over a few dozen times, just about every flashback– literally all but Norland's-- have been about-- that is, central to and affecting-- one of the crew members. So this flashback not being about Jinbe, not affecting him, not being central to him, not being about his relationship with the listed three parties (Otohime, Arlong, Tiger), or about his decisions... it would not only deviate from all previous flashbacks, but it would also go against the reason Jinbe started telling the story in the first place. Him not joining would also make this flashback unique to the others, being the first flashback about someone who does not join the crew (who is alive), while still having all of the staple future-crew member features: sad past, dead mentor, current predicament, future goals, etc.

Wouldn't be to sure about that, I mean if we consider all of the other Flashbacks that have occurred for potential Nakama they all mostly resemble this one currently in the manga and if you think about it, the person who's narrative the Flashback is from weather it be psychological or vocal isn't necessarily the person the Flashback is about.

I was recently re-reading the Arlong arc and Nami's flashback was about Bellemere just as much as Nami if not more so, I noticed the Flashback revolved more around Bellemere raising Nami & Nojiko and overall sacrificing herself to Arlong for her children's right to live, and her own life long desire to be a Mother.

Same thing with Franky his Flashback was about Tom and his trial for making Roger's ship,his creation of the Sea train and his knowledge of Pluton.

Luffy's revolved more around Ace and the death of Sabo.

Zoro,Chopper,Brook,Robin all of their respective flashbacks have revolved around other people while they themselves are our Bridge to the history of it all,just as Jinbe is currently doing with Tiger and Otohime.

The way I see it the only thing holding Jinbe back from joining is Luffy's invitation and his own Dream.

Jinbe's "dream" could be seen more like Brook's promise to Laboon instead of something like Luffy's dream to be the freest or Nami's to make a map of the world. Honestly Jinbe's promise to Ace makes his "dream" more rooted to the crew (or at least it's captain) than anyone besides maybe Franky's and (obviously) Luffy's.

problem is Jimbe dusnt see Luffy as someone more powerful than himself and respectable enough to be his captain. He calls him Luffy-KUN, instead of Luffy-san like Brook, or just "Luffy" or "Sencho" (captain)

This Flashback isn't "only" about Jinbe just like none of the other SH members flashback was only about them,please just go re read all of their dialogue in their respective flashback chapters from Luffy right up to Brook they aren't the focus either ,they become the focus later on when the tragedy in their lives or the person closest to them dies which will happen with Jinbe after Tiger's tragic death and then again with Otohime.

Oda's not gonna write the same ol "This is me when Ima kid,this is my Dream" story,evidenced by Brooks own story which didn't give much insight into his past at all only his adult life before his death where he is already a pirate and his Flashback was less about Him and more about the Rumbar Pirates leaving Laboon behind [[which we knew since the reverse mountain arc]] Brook being apart of the crew was just a coincidence.

I can't wrap my head around how someone can say "Jinbe's there and being influenced, but he's not at the center of the flashback". If Jinbe's in and influenced by every scene doesn't that mean he's at the center of it? None of the other SHs had the world revolving around them in their flashback until the tragedy, everything until then was building relationships and history for the tragedy. Kind of how so far the fb is building the history and relationships around Jinbe for the later tragedy of Fisher Tiger's death (and possibly Otohime's). It is centered around him in a relationship/history-building sense, later we'll see it completely centered around him as shit hits the fan. You just can't write a fb with as much impact as OP's have without introducing us to the central character's environment, relationships, etc. This is what is going on so far in this fb.

And what do you mean by all the others directly influenced the course of events in their flashback? I'm pretty sure it wasn't directly related to Robin that the scholars were researching Poneglyphs so the WG attacked them. Everything prior to that was as relevant to Robin as things so far are to Jinbe: we're seeing relations and background, but nothing big yet. We got some hints of future (well as "future" as things are in a fb) tragedy through Saul, and here we get that from Koala. Both seemingly unimportant compared to the already introduced themes and known future events (Robin - we knew Buster Call was involved, and her being hated by nigh everyone; Jinbe - we know Fisher Tiger's/otohime's deaths may be involved, and there's a racism/slavery theme), but both will tie in to their fb's big event (theoretically in Kola's case, but it seems fairly apparent).

That's a very good point. Maybe later we can get a more centered flashblack like when the Fishman Pirates were made and the Sunny Pirates split.

We'll likely see how they split within the next few chapters; I don't expect the flashback to last more than 3, and 4 is the limit.

I may be stating the obvious, but what I expect to at least be covered is thus:

*Fisher's death, the humans on Koala's island refusing to offer blood, and the Sun Pirates' (especially Jinbe's) reactions and/or retaliation.
*Jinbe's taking charge of the Sun Pirates and their further retaliations on humans, with his and Arlong's differing ideals likely coming to the forefront more than ever.
*Otohime's further pleas to the people of FI and possibly even the SP directly or enacting a plan endangering herself.
*Decken's intro, possibly as a cause of Otohime's death, though I'm not sure he will directly, and his targeting Shirahoshi.
*Otohime touching Jinbe in some way and restoring, at the very least, his neutrality, and perhaps influencing him to split the SP.
*Jinbe's offer to join the Shichibukai, possibly even by Borsalino, as we see why Arlong's release into the East Blue is warranted.

I'm not on any band wagon,believe it or not I always thought Jinbe was gonna join since the first time he was introduced during Impel down in level six with Ace. [[various other reasons too]]

But getting back on topic,you said that future SH members are always at the center of major events, Ok I get that but do you remember how this Flashback started? because Sanji and Nami wanna know why Jinbe sent Arlong to East Blue. Hody taking over Ryugu is somehow connected to that obviously, but ALL of these events stem from Fisher Tiger
and Otohime and what they both believed, but there is also another common denominator in all of this and that's Jinbe himself:

He leaves the Army to join Fisher Tiger after he Freed slaves from Mariejoa.
In the middle of all of this Oda manages to write in How he grew up in the Fishman District an Orphan with Tiger,Macro and Arlong and most likely Hachi as well.

He along with Arlong are scolded by Tiger for trying to kill the Marines [[humans]]
notice how this isn't the Jinbe we know ,this is a younger more ignorant Fishman
who doesn't respect humans and has the same attitude as Arlong except less extreme

Tiger confides into him about the Demons of his own heart and how Tiger himself see's Otohimes ideals as noble.

Basically without ranting anymore Jinbe is just as much the center of this Flashback as Tiger and the Queen,he still hasn't acquired his trademark scar so who knows what can happen now and just like previous Nakama before him when those influences in his life die [[tragedy]] the Flashback will center around him alone,his choice to break up the crew ,joining the Shichibukai, sending Arlong to east blue etc. because as he says not even he knows who's ideals were correct,seems to me Jinbe has been trying to find a balance between the two.

Fisher Tiger is the only Legend I see in that Flashback

Queen Otohime is famous to her people of Ryugu Kingdom while Fisher Tiger is a Legend worldwide.

You can agree to disagree then because the way I see it Jinbe is essential to this Flashback just as much has Fisher Tiger and Otohime especially after they both die
then the stuff we dont know will be revealed like how Jinbe became a Warlord and why he broke up his crew. As for Jinbe being silent and observing that's expected since he has a stoic personality but like I said you are entitled to you're own opinion.

almost every flashback has involved a future crew-mate's families death (or loss of limbs) this could just be jimbei's version of that.

the 2 people in his life he looked up to the most….and their demise

if this was the case then of course they will be very prominent in the flash backs ala Bellemere and Zeff(sp) Dr Hirulak(sp) etc

ft is dead already in the flashback and alot of things are still about to happend. He is a plot point, jinbe is still at the center of everything. Hell now Jinbe dream can be showing that humans and fishmen can live together, since The queen and fisher tiger both wanted that shown eventually.

We still have at least three more chapters of flashback ahead. We need to see what Borsalino was planning, plus Otohime's death and Jinbe becoming a Shichibukai.

I disagree. That part dealt specifically with the new era of children that were not born in that hatred. Jinbe's obviously (even in that flashback) part of that old era despite the fact that it's mentioned how much he's changed and what we know of him now.

I really doubt anything in this flashback will stand out to say Jinbe is NN or that he has a reason to be a SH.

Well, everytime a new character appears, someone will try to make him the new nakama. Yes, he's a doctor, but anyone supporting that would overlook that simple fact. I'll check One Manga. I won't be surprised if someone is supporting Alladin.

The only way that i can think of to end this" circle of hate" between fishmen and human are by what Koala said: "its because we don't know anything about you". Human don't know fishmen and vice versa.
I think it support the theory:
1. Fishmen Island will be rebuild side by side with human. So it may be on the surface.
2. Or/And.. Some fishmen will go out to build a relationship with human, some say it will be Jinbei, but personally, as he is from the "old" era, i think it is the new fishmen pirates.

Luffy will not end this circle of hate by thrashing the new fishmen pirate. That's why Jinbei asked Luffy to not fight with Hodi.

However, If FI will be destroyed and rebuild side by side with human (maybe near Koala village). There are two alternatives:

2. Jinbei will stay to help the transition process. I think he is the toughest fishmen and a good leader.

1. The strawhat member dream usually personal and simple/tangible. I think the dream of peace between fishmen and human, is even larger than peace between black and white / races.
2. The dream of peace is transfered from Orohime and Tiger, not his own dream. It is like a mission given/responsibility, not a dream.
3. As i already mention. If Jinbei join, what nationality will he be? Japan? The strawhat already have Zoro. Of course it doesn't mean that the SH cannot have 2 members with the same nationality. But currently they are all different (brazil, swedish, france, rusia, usa, african, canada, etc.)

There's a way I would see him joining, but for that to happen Shirahoshi should join as well. I too have been investing time in a theory which shares relationship with the Little mermaid movie plot. I don't need to explain it though.

If Oda is doing with Shirahoshi the Little mermaid plot with a little mix of Rapunzel as I think, then she somehow will end up becoming human in exchange of losing her capability to swim. She would be forced to live in the world she has always been interested in, the surface. A curse you would call, and I know of only one thing in One Piece that is comparable to a curse.

All this is a theory like yours, and I won't say I'm certain till there're indications. It's all theory.

For the meantime she already has a very tragic past not comparable with Jinbei's.

So you think she'll become a human and no longer be able to breathe underwater or even swim for that matter? What purpose would she possibly serve at that point?
