Hmm, why are vivi's eyelashes going in the same direction on both eyes? Seems odd ahaha. Still, nice movement in those figures. At least it's not as static as 90% of the other OP figures out there.

I have a question concerning trading figures, such as the WFC line. When you go to buy a full set, do you get one of each in the set, or do you risk having multiple figures of one or more of the characters? For example, buying a set of Vol. 0 and getting 3 of Sengoku, 2 of Garp with Ace, 1 of Roger, 1 of Shanks, and 1 of child Hancock. In other words, is it a gamble?

no. If you buy a set of wcf you get them all.

WCF Sets aren´t random. If you buy the Set you can be sure to have 1 of each figure in it.

It usually depends on the manufacturer. For example with I bought a Strong World keyring set from Bandai. The set be this: Luffy, Usopp, Franky, Brook, Robin, Chopper A, Chopper B. I bought a box of 12 or so from HLJ. I think it ended up being something like Luffy x 4, Chopper A x 2, Franky x 1, Brook x 1, Usopp x 6. And ended up with no Robin or Chopper B.

But it really all depends on which sets it is. Its usually only stuff like this. But I think it's also with ones like Mini Big Heads and the recent Busts.

I see. Thank you for the information! It's really helpful. With this in mind, I'll probably be wary of the Hetalia One Coin sets (2 of them) now. I've been eying them for a week, but now that I know about this information, I'll probably be skipping them. The manufacturer is Kotobukiya, by the way.

The thing is that the WFC aren't really a set. They are not sold as boxes, they are individual prize items, just released as a themed 8 at time.

Otacute sells them as random 50, HLJ sells them as random 12, other places have organasied sets of 1 per character.

Sets like Styling or most of the other Bandai/Banpresto stuff will have a complete set in (+ extras and/or secrets if they are listed in the set).

Most of the time HLJ or AmiAmi would say "random set of X" it's not random in reality. But it's very individual so you need to know about the very set you're talking about. No way you can be sure about some Hate-alia box judging by OP merch.

Depends on the characters you want really. I imagine trying to get the backlog of GLM would cost quite a bit too.

You want to have all the characters that have a GLM figure? The ones released so far are

Luffy (4 ver.) , Ace, Shanks, Mihawk, Law, Kid, Rayleigh, Sanji (2 ver.) and Buggy

and upcomming Iva, Mr 2, Zoro, Beckman, Yasopp another Shanks and Timeskip Strawhats.

DX Marines vol. 1 came from HLJ today. As usual it's nice to be able to finish the set.

Sengoku is a pain though. Too many "accessories" that would've been better off as part of the main sculpt. His cheap flimsy glasses snapped in half in my hands! Had to superglue them back together and I think they got stuck to his face afterward…which isn't actually too bad of a thing. Goes nicely with Garp from Will of D. too, even with the size difference.

I now have 18 DX / GLM figures. Oh lawd, this hobby.

Aside from Luffy the set looks pretty decent. Although for some reason there is something stopping me from liking them as much as I should. I just have the feeling of 'they're ok. But should be better.' vibe I had with vol. 0

Ha, I had this problem the first time. Though I started with POPs. I thought it would be hard and expensive, but hasn't been that bad. Still missing a few, but not much.
I then went onto GLM and a few IK figures. Almost have all the GLM. Just missing Law now and done. IK has been the hardest so far. Though I only want a few of the unique stuff. It's also been the most expensive.
I like WCF, and would like to get them, but too much money playing catch up with it. So I have to skip getting them. Though I'm tempted by some figures, like the recent Boa Child.
Figuarts also seem to be getting better. I haven't bought any other than Hancock, which is ok, but the recent Admirals look great.

So I guess it depends on your budget. I think Figuarts is probably the easiest to start with followed by GLM, then probably POPs and lastly WCF.

Unless you've got bagloads of money. WCF just re-released 1-10 recently or something right?

If I had lots of money, I'd get the IK Monster Luffy and Oars, they look fantastic. And the marineford IKs too, those look pretty nice. But still prefer the TB ones.

I don't see the appeal of WCF, too expensive and hard to get for what they are. I think that most ppl that are into this line can be categorized as hunters rather than collectors (as referred by this page @http://www.actionfigureinsider.com/blog/the-superfly/the-thrill-of-the-chase/).
If I wanted some little figures to supplement my "realistic" POP/GLM figures, I would rather go to the MBH (well all the xxx Heroes line as the Japanese actually call them) or even Bandai FC.

I just found a GLM Kidd at the Sakura Con. in Seattle and was wondering if I should just buy it here. But I already made a pre-order on Otacute and since I can't cancel it, I'm debating if I should get or not. Were you guy able to get backorders of GLM on otacute?

Not really no. I only get them because they're small enough to fit tons on a shelf and are of a decent quality (usually) that way I don't mind buying them. They're also doing chars who wouldn't normally get a GLM/POP/Figuarts figure. Bandai FC has been focusing on Marineford (Although they actually bothered to do a Hina which was nice.) for the past 5 sets or so too :/

Some people had success with backorder on Otacute. But if it was me, I'd go and buy that GLM at the convention.

I would pick it up to make sure you get it if you are afraid you may miss it from Otacute. I am sure if the Otacute order does come in you can find someone here who will want to pick it up. I had them cancel a backorder item recently so now I am scrambling through a bunch of different sites trying to find a replacement.

Good call. Thanks guys! I've picked up a GLM Law & Rayleigh at the convention as well both under 25$ so it wasn't that bad. I think I'll go pick Kidd tomorrow juuuuust to make sure I have him. If I happen to have an extra Kidd I'll let you guys know!

Ok, I may have it wrong about ppl motivation. But WCF has quickly begun a pain in the ass to get a complete set, and each set is really expensive…The 2nd argument is why I never started to get any of these.
I agree for FC, it's become boring, so I didn't get the last 2 sets. However, MBH just fills the bill nicely, so it's the only SD series I'm still collecting :)
