@Cyan:
What's that huge-ass church in Spain that they've spent the past hundred or so years building?
That's a pretty nice piece of work.
Wait, found it.
The view down from there is awesome.
-
All this talk of artists and architects is reminding me of "The Fountainhead" by Ayn Rand, which gives me a flashback of a painful time two years ago.
Either way, architecture is an amazing art, but one we often neglect.
-
the only architecture i've ever done is with lego bricks lol
-
Architecture… One time I had to draw, in school, the outside of an church like "Sagrada Familia". I don't remember what happened then.
The only architect that I can easily remember is Oscar Niemeyer because he did this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cathedral_of_Bras%C3%ADlia. -
Sea requests you to stop talking about him. He kept it a secret because he didn't want his private life to be discussed publicly, nor did he want people to pity or feel sorry for him. And he wasn't whining about studying architecture or something, it's just that he separates his attention into many things, like practicing drawing comic, so his results at university didn't meet his parents' high expectation thus they ordered him to pay full attention to it.
Just delivering it. Don't flame me for that. Thanks.
And now we really should cancel the whole talk about him. -

:ninja:
but he did Lots of other things

Ah !

I wanted to wait till someone overtook me in post count but the thread is dying.
So.
New year resolutions, anyone?
-
My resolution is to get out of Ohio, and since I'm transferring, that kinda works itself out.
-
Oh? Where are you transferring to?
-
HELL
Or New England. Can't be too specific or my mysterious persona will be unraveled.
-
-
Let's talk about the xfiles
It's basically the best show I never watched and I'm sad I was too young to watch it when it came out
-
I've mentioned before my mother was one of those people who were in "fandoms" before internet fandoms existed and then when they were very minor. Due to it she has a lot of weird memorabilia you'd get at gatherings that people would make, or wacky things they'd sell at conventions. This is how I can tell what kind of stuff she was into.
Well some of her remaining possessions include a dollar bill with Mulder's face on it. I'm not sure what to make of it,
But she was an X-Files fan I think.
-
Watched X-Files alot as a kid. Never really had much of an attention span to comprehend the plot. I just wanted to see aliens.
-
Episodic supernatural X-Files > Episodic conspiracy X-Files > Over-arching storyline conspiracy X-Files = "Black goo" X-Files
-
My dad was a pretty big X-Files fan, he actually looked forward to the 2008 movie even though in the end he wasn't able to see it. Always made me watch episodes with him and explained whatever was going on.
Although I never truly got into it I remember liking that old guy who basically kept Mulder and Scully in check from the "conspiracy" side. He didn't have any actual dialogue for awhile after first being introduced and went kind of crazy hippie near the end. You know I don't even think he ever actually got a name, but that was for a decent amount of characters.
-
You mean… The Cigarette Smoking Man?!
Taboo and I were swooning over him last night.
-
Yeah! I'm pretty sure that was him.
I always liked how he pretty much could have gotten rid of Mulder and Scully easily, but along with personal reasons(which are somewhat spoilery so won't say) he instead made their investigations work to his benefit. Especially because of the former's status as a joke actually helped them out in keeping things under wraps.

Pretty much my same problem.
My parents and oldest sister were huge fans. When I was a kid, I'd often try to watch it, but I'd always end up watching an episode that would actually have something that would scare me.
As a kid, I was afraid of just about everything, so I just refused to watch it out of fear. And the opening scared me pretty bad, whether it was the music or some of the images.
-
Saw a few eps of X-Files, but like Star Trek never got used to watching it enough to get into it.
The only episode I remember is the one where that kid could control the bugs.
I remember liking it, so meh. -

-
I leave to study for finals and come back to find a new thread? What the hell happened?
I never watched X-files. :<
-
This post is deleted!
-
I loved how Skully aged into this Dr. Quinn/Quymn medicine woman persona from what she stared out as
-
I never reallly got into the X-Files, which is a shame, because had I been born a few years earlier, that would likely not be the case.
-
I used to watch the X-files when I was little. But I don't remember too much of it, via a horrible memory.
-
i never watched x-files :-(
-
I have never watched X-files also. I wasn't into it, when it came. Maybe I should try watch it now?
-
i liked that one simpsons episode where x files was used.
-
@MDL:
i liked that one simpsons episode where x files was used.
me, too
… But I never was interested in x-files.
-
i'm the same XD
just didn't interest me at all. i preferred crime dramas and sitcoms.
-
I've taken a recent liking to The Mentalist.
I'm not sure why. I blame the lead actor's charisma.
-
you mean the one where burns was the alien?
-
yeah, that's the one XD
-
that was my first simpsons episode xD
so great :p
-
It scares me to realize that there are people on this board that I talk to regularly… and Simpsons has been airing their entire lives.
I mean, its been airing most of mine, but at least there was a time before Simpsons. That's kind of wierd. I can remember when it was outrageous and new and the earlier episodes when they originally aired... and now? Its kind of crazy.
As for X-Files, I loved it at the time, but got bored around season 4 or 5 after it became clear they weren't ever going to answer anything. Then it ended up running for like 10 years, and I came back for the final season. I've never bothered hunting down those middle seasons or tried rewatching it all from scratch. Probably should, someday. Apparently it works pretty well marathoned.
"We bring you peace and love!"
"It's an alien, kill it!"
"No no, it's Mr. Burns!"
"Aw, it's Mr. Burns.... kill it!" -
Wow.
The Simpsons are even older than me @_@.
I thought they started in 1991 or 92.
-
they are much older then me , but i still like them
in fact they were the first thing i started to collect things of
-
I've seen a couple episodes of the X-Files and liked them but never really watched the show all that much.
I never really thought about the Simpsons running my entire life actually .
-
1989?! Good gracious. It never clicked with me that The Simpsons are older than me. Wow.
Oh, and everyone, if you are asked to "whip you hair" by a few sorority girls while dancing…don't. My neck feels like someone took a sledge hammer to it.
-
Did you at least whip it good?
-
EMMA! tacklehugs
also, i've been into simpsons for as long as i can remember. i remember my parents had the first ever video tape that the simpsons released.
-
my chamber is for the half simpsons and for the half manga
EDIT: lolz , i turn on my tv and what do i see? simpsons :p
-
There was a time when Simpsons was on 7 days and 16 episodes a week. I don't know if it's still the same since I don't watch German TV anymore.
-
Did you at least whip it good?
You bet your sweet ass I did. If only I had Devo to whip to.
@MDL:
EMMA! tacklehugs
Middle!!! My buddy!
