not anime only Nice episode really got that feeling of Pop's got luffy's back the main point. Knowing what the anime is capable of found the animation was nice didnt mind the commander's placing nor the fillers was happy to see Buggy!. Vicious D ending of course. all in all 'happy mood' type ep & I can barely wait for ch 571 animated.

Finally, we return to the good animation, and this week made up for the disappointing last week's episode.
Great episode, great build up to Luffy vs Garp.

I don't take it we got a name for "Frenchstache" in the credits yet eh ?

That would be good. Until then, I'll just call him Pierre:ninja: The anime really loves him, he's everywhere. Come on, give him a name Oda!
-
Dont hate on the buggy filler it actually has some importance to explain as to why buggy doesnt make another flashy appearance on TV and gave some good comedic relief

Lightning McGuy you mean?
-
@RedDog:
doma was my favourite character in that whole episode, such a gd character…
its gd episode for those anime only viewers. moved quite quickly as well unlike the one chapter per episode.I'm not sure what you think you just watched, but that episode only covered one chapter. There was a lot of filler in it.
-
Monkey shot a guy in the manga so why so puzzled by him now?
Croc vs. Mihawk was the worst part. Guy Luffy thrashed hundreds of episodes ago is implied to go toe to toe with a top tier guy who won't be beaten till late in the series? Gonna be real weird for anime fans when Mihawk "gets serious" and slices islands into multiple pieces and blitzes around more than Lucci&Luffy in his first "serious" duel. Make Mihawk seem so weak in this war.
Buggy was dumb but kinda explained why he wasn't KOed by Luffy's haki. With all the strong guys surrounding Luffy who exactly is keeping Moria, Kuma, and Don busy? Episode was actually a pretty big letdown considering how epic it should have been. Enies Lobby was a clusterfuck why can't this war?

Actually we did.
His name is Kaiser Moustache, or Kaiserbeard (Kaizeruhige).
-
Lightning McGuy you mean?
No, I meant that Vice-Admiral who looks like a frenchman. He is Frenchstache.
-
I loved this episode. I enjoyed the mini fillers fights between the New World Captains against the Vice-Admirals. i liked how Jimbei said "I'm not a Whitebeard Pirate, I don't have to obey your orders" after WB chastises him…
Great episode. Really enjoyed it. But please God, no more buggy fillers.

Once again how is it the Anime's fault for the Croc/Mihawk fight when it was not only implied but shown in the Manga! This arc is taking a lot of heat for shit that people just blown over in the Manga. Luffy was basically running in place for 5 chapters, they were just 15 and 16 pages so I didn't look so bad.
Anyway about Croc being weak because he lost to Luffy early….thats stupid. Just because Luffy beat him and now Luffy can't beat Mihawk, that doesn't mean that Croc can't fight Mihawk evenly. Because Luffy beat Eneru, does that mean Eneru couldn't beat anyone stronger than Luffy? Probably the only reason that Eneru hasn't been shown again is because he is too overpowered.

That's one of the things that makes me like One Piece so much. It's not like Dragon ball where Frieza could never beat Cell. The powers of the world are not to be compared because some abilities nullify others. If Croc was a schichibukai it just means he was super strong, which he actually is, Luffy just got the better of him

i would have loved this episode my if the animation done a little better. But i loved all the filler fight that they should have done in earlier episodes.buggy was annoying and unnessary this week. they could have had G8 johnathan which we only saw once at the marines gathering scene
-
I agree with RedRing in that all that running could have been handled a whole lot better this, in which there was no real sense of speed. Too many scenes felt like he was on a treadmill, making Luffy's running up the cut-out pathway to the scaffold that much more glorious.
Agree that the Buggy filler was badly placed, but it at least got a laugh out of me. That and Kizaru fumbling over after Whitebeard disrupted his phasing (or whatever)
-
just pumped for next weeks episode
! we better see sengoku's transformation
-
Terrible animation. I was especially bothered by Ace suddenly lacking a tattoo.
That aside, the new world captains were really entertaining. I hope they actually live up to their names and make appearances in the New World once the Straw Hats get there. I especially loved Doma's monkey trying to shoot the vice-admiral.

Already ?
Christ now I am pumped .

I liked this episode very much
the fillers were ok and FINALLY luffy reached the platform
can't wait for the next episode -
just a little consideration, I don't know who made this episode but he must clearly hate hancock: what's with that slow and lame snake surfing walk! it looks like the pacifistas are waiting on purpose for her to get in their way . also, sentoumaru is supposed to have got those few bruises from hancock (he's no fodder so he shouldn't get wounded against random pirates, damnit!) and hancock is supposed to have destroyed those pacifista with force, not just getting in their way!
-
. also, sentoumaru is supposed to have got those few bruises from hancock
That's only a supposition, we can't be 100% affirmative about that.

Another gripe I haven't seen brought up. What was up with the Declaven brothers? While not confirmed I always got the impression they were conjoined twins in the Manga.

Croc attacked Mihawk from behind in the manga. Oda had it go that way because Mihawk made Jet Gatling speed looks like nothing to him. No way Croc, who is slower than base Luffy, could survive a direct confrontation against Mihawk a top tier. Bet you think Luffy really saved WB from Croc?
Enel is not overpowered, entire point of Enel was that godly fruit does not make for a godly fighter. The participants of the war(and later characters) are the "Monsters" Luffy spoke of when he called Enel an idiot. He'd only be able to take out fodder in this war with all the experienced Haki users around. Even people who couldn't touch him like Iva, Moria, and Jimbei could evade and tank his lightning.

I think there was a shot of them after Squardo's stabbing showing them apart, but don't quote me on that. And defnietly when they attacked in the chapter of this episode.

Actually we did.
His name is Kaiser Moustache, or Kaiserbeard (Kaizeruhige).
Kaiserstach is what I will call him from now on. If I remember.
And people, Doma's monkey just is too awesome. It shoots people, it was discussed over in the tournament. (Though anime-only…)
I've nicknamed the monkey as Reino with my mate. And Reino always looks manly, no matter how badly the animators may screw Doma's face(glad I didn't see face-screwing in this episode). And Reino's gun-action was awesome. Momonga even evaded them, because he NEEDED to. Otherwise it would've been BOOM headshot because that monkey, Reino, is too awesome. The rest of the episode was nice too. Though I would've loved some Horny filler.
-
Other than the continuation of Luffy's marathon running, I really liked this episode. New World Captains and Vice Admirals…pretty sweet.

Frenchstache no more, there's only Kaiserstache! Now, only Horny reaimned, (and the giant squad but oh well). With names like that (Dalmatian) I can imagine his name is actually Horny:ninja:…. and where is he anyway? We didn't even see him animated.
Love the name. Momonga's face was like: I want a monkey like that too! Does he know any tricks? Reino shoots Oh shi... -
@Monkey:
Hmmmmmmmmmmm no ?
You might want to look at the position of Mihawks arms. He turned around to block Croc. Croc didn't directly clash with Mihawk…but I guess Croc has faster attack speed than G2 now. My bad.
@S.C.:

Yeah the anime separated them before but their bottom half is always covered up in the manga even when they helped Luffy.
-
Great Episode, next week looks very promising!
-
there was a moment where Whitebeards Sword" dissapeard xD

there was a moment where Whitebeards Sword" dissapeard xD
I laughed at that part.
The episode was good, nothing special about it except for the ending when the "happy song of victory" was interrupted by Garp. It was great.
And that part with Buggy and the prisoners staring at the Den Den Mushi will haunt my dreams. -
While watching with my brother (who doesn't know too much from the manga and can't remember what I rant to him about) when we were at the Luffy running up the bridge with the happy triumphant music playing, I was like "Wait for it….wait for it....BITCH YOU'VE BEEN GARP'D."
Doma's monkey needs no explanation. It simply is. And it has a gun.
Eh, I enjoyed the episode besides Luffy's running with people someone appearing in front and behind him. I kinda laughed when Inazuma just raced past him.
-
Pretty good ep but everyone was so off model. Kinda killed the enjoyment. I actully laughed at the part when the heroic music swell only to abruptly stop once Garp entered the scene. Fantastic. Just a few more eps left before…the scene.
-
After a few episodes, I prefer Mihawk's former VA. The new one is badass but feels stern. Whereas Aono's voice is badass but more memorable.
-
it bothered me so much this episode. Luffy running with the speed of a snail and everybody just getting ahead of him I was like face palming as he went
-
Guys, this episode had BARON LIGHTNING MCGUY and lots of him, what more could you ask for?
-

I didnt think this episode was overly great, but the moment where whitebeard said for them all to back luffy up just made up for any momens of facepalming

It's a bit late, but anybody notice how skinny and Chicken-like Makugai's legs are in his clash with Doberman?

Yeah, I noticed. The art wasn't that good in this ep.
