Yeah but The New World Arc will be ridiculously huge, there are so many people and characters involved that will require a MINIMUM of 5-10 chapters each to 'resolve', I mean the Yonkou, probably 30 chapters each MINIMUM, Crocodile, the admirals, the shichibukai, the Supernova's
! Perhaps any new supernova's that may have sprung up since the timeskip?
And yet there are probably still a significant amount more than I just mentioned. OP has a good potential for like 10 years more worth of chapters, Oda doesnt seem like he intends to rush them.

I really doubt it, but since Mihawk is the strongest known swordsman, and all we've seen shanks use is a sword and Haki.
It's unconfirmed if Mihawk is stronger than Shanks. Considering that Mihawk still holds the title of "World's greatest swordsman" though, it can be assumed that Mihawk is at least the better swordsman.

I would assume it's something very long and tedious like docking on the Redline at the place where the Marines do to get to Mariejois, then traveling along it to a place where it intersects with another sea. Something pirates could never do, not least because they'd have to leave their ship behind for a while.

Rayleigh said that he would teach Luffy the basics of haki (all the types), and since Luffy said that he mastered all of what Rayleigh had to teach in a year and a half, we can probably assume he knows all 3.
If he hasn't got The Color of Armaments down i'ma be so pissed. Luffy you better go kick smokers ass right now or i'ma eat my own foot and blame it on you.
I would assume Luffy focused more on the color or armaments rather than the observation haki, Luffy is already flexible with extremely fast reflexes, he doesn't even need that haki to avoid the majority of the attacks.
But I guess both hakis can be used as offensive and defensive.
Yeah observation seems too intelligent and tactical for Luffy, he's more of a 'Go nuts and see how it pans out' kinda guy anyway, until things get really tough anyway

To answer your question, Oda invented these words, albeit they were in Japanese. We just translated them. We didn't made up these different types of haki; Oda did. If you wanna bitch about the three types of haki, then bitch at him.

Very likely, or at least it will make his life longer than without fruit. Real reindeers live about 10-20 years old, so chopper should be very old already if his lifespan would be same as reindeers. But, maybe reindeers in op world live longer?

I would like to add my two cents to the controversy regarding Mihawk's title.
So here goes…
I believe Mihawk's title, "The world's strongest swordsman", can be interpreted in two ways.
The first interpretation:
Anyone skilled with sword(s) can be called a swordsman; Mihawk's title means that he is stronger than anyone skilled with sword(s).The second interpretation:
If A is considered to be a stronger swordsman than B, it can mean that A's swordplay is stronger than B's swordplay.Now Mihawk, "The world's strongest swordsman", is a "stronger swordsman" than any other man in the world.
This can just mean that Mihawk's swordplay is stronger than anyone else's swordplay.
On first glance, the two interpretations may seem to mean the same thing. But look closer.
Going by the second interpretation, Mihawk's swordplay is stronger than anyone else's swordplay.
So if anyone relies solely on swordplay against Mihawk, defeat is certain.
However, if the rival uses other abilities (like kizaru's lasers), then there's no telling who will win.Which interpretation do you agree with?

mihawk is the best swordsman period. shanks would most likely beat him in a fight since he is most likely a great swordsman and a fighter as well. i imagine shanks being zoro and sanji rolled into one. well he would obviously have to fight with his legs since his one hand is busy with the sword. although i'm sure he would still be a great fighter with his sword gone. i don't know if mihawk would be able to still beat a good fighter without any sword or knife.
I'm not sure where the difference is relevant. If he's the strongest person with a sword or the best swordplay, he's going to win against any other swordsman in theory until his title is taken by whoever defeats him. And up against someone not using a sword, it's already a given that his comparative strength is uncertain as of yet. Top tier, but uncertain. So as long as he's not up against like Wapol, he could win or lose. And just because Kizaru and Aokiji made swords doesn't limit them to swordplay, and neither are swordsmen, so neither distinction would matter.
And I think this will be moved to a thread with a broader topic. It seems small and irrelevant, not a novel idea like the Kuma theory or a popular topic like Moria's fate used to be. Although, to be honest, if we just broadened it to our own takes on what "strongest swordsman" entailed, it could be worthwhile, for a short time. I doubt people would debate it for long, but who knows.
