@Cloud:
Dare I say… Vice Admiral Coby
At the most a Commodore, anything higher than that and he should be an Admiral in 6 months
Actually I really fucking love this idea because it provides an easy explanation for why things of the Marine variety might not go apeshit on Fishman Island.
Yeah, he is the exception which is…just...soooo strange why he'd choose to do that.
It's something I'd LIKE for him to explain but don't necessarily need him to.
I always thought his uniqueness was due to his zoan being a human-human fruit
This is a very interesting thread. Here is how I see it:
There are two sets of rules (law) in the bible.
One in the old testament that applied to the Israelites, which includes pretty much everything all of you have been describing regarding food, women, their menstrual cycle and many others that seem very drastic to our society standards these days. So, in the old testament a set of gears is put in motion to prepare for Jesus coming. There were a lot of prophecies that were one by one fulfilled preparing the road for God's plan to fix the relationship with humanity. They were under what is called the old covenant. The general idea is that since we are all sinners we are condemned to Hell (eternal death). In order to avoid that destine these people in the old testament had only one option and that was to follow these set of rules in order to achieve salvation. Salvation in other words was obtained by good deeds and following all these severe rules. In the new testament, Jesus comes in order to fulfill God's plan to rescue humanity. By Jesus dying he performs what one we could call equal trade he dies in our place for our sins. So salvation this time is a gift, by grace not deeds. Humanity is offered forgiveness. And we are only to accept it. Jesus establishes a new commandment in addition to the very first 10 described in the old testament. And then directly and indirectly many of the old rules fated into disuse because this new covenant covered them somehow.
Food wise, from what I can recall, in the new testament one of the apostles is given a dream where he is told that no God creation is unclean. It also says that any animal in the creation can be eaten.Regarding God being wrathful in the Old Testament and loving and forgiving in the New One… it's more a matter of seeing different aspects of God. He can be caring and loving but also a righteous judge who will punish the unrepentant and the wicked. This is shown through the whole bible, so his actions are not inconsistent or contradictory. God is usually portrayed as the Parent who punishes his children because he loves them.
This part is weird too
How is it moral for someone to die for YOUR sins
How can you trade a life for you to be able to have a chance in going to heaven? Is it justifiable by him being the son of god? Then even if he was all powerful why not just clear the sins away?
EVERYBODY picks and Chooses.
There is no such thing as a Christian who 100% follows the bible's teachings.
If there were, you'd hear about more Christians selling their Daughters into Slavery, and you would NEVER see a Christian male with hair longer than an Inch. [[URL="http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1 Corinthians 11:3-15&version=NIV"]1 Corinthians 11:3-15]
Fun Fact: The Bible says its a sin for men to have long hair. What does Jesus have in… EVERY SINGLE depiction of him?...Also, you'd have a LOT OF Dead kids. Striking either of your parents is punishable by death according to the bible. [[URL="http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Exodus 21:15&version=NIV"]Exodus 21:15]
Just not believing in god, that particular version of god, is also a death-worthy offense [[URL="http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=2 Chronicles 15:12-13&version=NIV"]2 Chronicles 15:12-13]
Actually, if that happens, fuck killing that one person. OH no, if one person in one town starts talking about worshiping another god, or not worshiping god at all, the whole town is no good and must be killed and sent to hell where they belong. [[URL="http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=(Deuteronomy 13:13-19&version=NIV"]Deuteronomy 13:13-19]Fuck, is there anything you can do without being put to death? What about being a hard worker? Working hard is a good virtue, Get some good work done to provide for your family. Oh wait, if you work during the Sabbath (Saturday and/or Sunday depending on who you ask) you ALSO deserve death… [[URL="http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Exodus 31:12-15&version=NIV"]Exodus 31:12-15]
Ok, ok, Fine, there's a lot of rules, but if we work VERY hard, we can keep from breaking any of them! We can be good Christians who have never done anything wrong! I mean, god only punishes us for OUR OWN sins right? I mean, if you go hermit and don't live in a town where someone can be blasphemous, you can't be held accountable for that town! It's just you! It's not like you can be born breaking a rule right?
[Isaiah 14:20-21]
" The offspring of the wicked will never be mentioned again. Prepare a place to slaughter his sons for the sins of their forefathers; they are not to rise to inherit the land and cover the earth with their cities."…... Shit.......
Well, so much for Free will...
This was my point
Where do you draw the line? How do you decide what to pick and not to pick
Why do you not follow it in its entirety, instead of being selective?
What do the god loving Christians in this thread do regarding the bible?
Do you follow all of it, or just pick and choose?
I have to say that Franky's new look has grown on me 100%
I love it
@Tommy:
I hope we hear a beastly Bounty Hunter when the SH reach the New World.
Since somebody brought up CP9, maybe the ones that are after robin are the new CP9…(?) They are dressed the same.
They don't necessarily have to be CP9, any of the Cipher Pols

UHHH DOH!~
Man, I'm really out of it today
Thanks
Sorry but I would have to agree with the person who said that it would subtract 10 years off his life. First of all, you can't really predict what 10 years of pain would feel like. That would be too absurd even for the OP world. Iva did mention "lifespan" so i think we could pretty much get what that would imply. It saddens me that luffy won't live to be 1000 years old though LOL hahahaha.
He says: "10 years of your lives pain from the life that you would otherwise have lived from this day forth, I will take ten years and do them now"
So he is predicting what the pain is
