@KiShiDo:
But Jinbei had chances in the same or above the scale as Boa before the chapter and NOW after this I have no doubts.
That I disagree. Until now, Jimbei felt to me more like a plot device than a character. This chapter turned him into a character in my eyes. It gave him depth, thus his chances in my opinion have skyrocketed with that little flashback.
It still seems hard to me that anyone will really join. I hope for Hancock and see many signs that she may join. From this chapter on, I now see signs for Jimbei as well.
However, I still think he lacks something. This is purely based on personal opinion, so there's no need to try to counterargument, because this is not an argument.
But I dislike all that sruff some people are saying like Boa or Perona has by far more chances cuz "random theory" if Jinbei have shown even more for now than all others
The truth is: the biggest chance is that no one will join. People will see every little panel of his favorite bet as a sign that this character is the chosen one to join. It's normal: you see things in Jimbei I don't see, and I see the same things in Hancock.
Granted, Hancock has been missing for quite some time, only appearing in a few random panels. It may mean that Oda's planning something important for her later, but Jimbei actually has this huge advantage of appearing in almost every chapter. In the other hand, Hancock's personality is still more developed than Jimbei's, but this chapter has been a breath of fresh war for the fishman. He finally gained more depth, which was my main concern about him.
