I never was a big WB fan but after 576 particularly the flashback scene I am in awe by him. I could not see the WB pirates being lead by anybody but him. Ace is dead Marco is a pussy and the next known commander is Vista who I do think still has a big part to play but is not capitan worthy
The Future of the Whitebeard pirates

Marco's too crappy to replace Whitebeard. Jozu only has 1 arm left. And Vista is too weak.
I'm have absolutely no idea what they'll do next.
-
They probably form a new crew. Someone suggested their new name to be "Whitebeards sons", I like it.
also Marco's pretty strong. It's not like they get crushed like insects.
-
Wow what’s happened To Marcos popularity back in the summer he seemed to have quite the Following what went wrong for him?
-
@Lion:
Marco's too crappy to replace Whitebeard
Man, you don't know who you're messin' with.
-
It's probably the fact that he didn't manage to actually do anything worthwhile in the war. The extent of his contributions so far is "Oh cool! A phoenix!" and "Oh, Croc saved him, I could have done that :whistling:"
-
@kuma:

Nothing, people here just change their views more often than the wind the direction. In one chapter Marco is awesome because he's a phoenix. In the next chapter the same people find him lame because he get's a laser through the chest. If the next chapter has Marco doing something impressive again I assure you that the same people that found him lame will consider him to be the best thing since sliced cheese.^^
-
34 People still believe in Croc.
-
Considering the WB pirates have a theme of "family," disbanding wouldn't make much sense when we've seen all of these guys are willing to die for their crew. Wouldn't it be a slap in the face to the late Ace and Whitebeard?
-
They will keep on going with their new captain Gol D. Ace… The chapter title was Portgas D. Ace has died, but I have a feeling he will come back with a new name. Oda really hates killing off characters that obviously should have died, like Pell and many of Eneru's victims.. Maybe Luffy will convince Dr. Hogback or Dr Vegapunk to save Ace and he will become a cyborg like Kuma!!
-
The various division commanders will go their separate ways, some maybe head back to the New World. Without a captain they will disband, the same way Rogers crew did, the same way The Fishman Pirates did.
-
Most of them will disband and never be pirates again. Others will still be active pirates and have a cliche scene in the future where they save a SH from a deadly attack.
Marco will probably die.

Just for arguments sake (since I think they'll disband) Brook's crew didn't disband after their cap was fated to die. They're dreams of meeting Laboon on the other side were still lively.
Yeah, there's a pattern but I don't think all of them will retire from piracy.

I honestly don't think it'll be as simple as what the poll suggests. What I can see happening is a sort of combination between the first two options. The Whitebeard pirates can't just go and disband outright, since doing so would undoubtedly destroy the balance between the three world powers. Not to mention, all the islands under Whitebeard's control (most notably Fishman Island) would be thrown into chaos were this to happen.
I apologize if from here on out this starts sounding like some sort of fan-fic, but please bear with me.
I think Marco will realize these consequences and attempt to become the new captain in order to continue Whitebeard's duties. However, not all of the commanders would be in agreement, leading to some divisions staying with Marco under Whitebeard's flag and others breaking off into their own crews. I also believe Jinbei will want to stay with Marco in honor of Whitebeard's final request, though saying something along the lines of feeling that he has a debt to repay to someone, and that he will join up with them in the New World after escorting that certain someone to Fishman Island.
After that I don't really care what happens to the Whitebeard pirates, but I do like the suggestion someone made earlier that one of the yonkou – Kaidou, perhaps – will hunt down and kill all the newly formed factions in order to hype him up for an epic fight in the New World. I don't think Jinbei is going to be out of the picture just yet, though, so if this does happen it should be before he departs Fishman Island again.

@Cyan:
Butters will become a tank?
Naw, he'll become the fireman. Atomos will be the tank. Jose will deliver pizza, which leaves Vista to be the chocolate girl.
-
Does that make Blenheim the superhero and Squado becomes a master artist?
-
I'm expecting Oda to throw a twist in somewhere. :ninja:
-
I think the biggest question is what exactly is the goal of the Whitebeard Pirates at this point?
If you can figure out the answer to that question, you will likely predict what will happen to them.
Right now, the immediate goal is to escape.
Long term? They weren't exactly pursuing One Piece when Pops was alive, so do they all of the sudden shift gears and seek it now?

The new WB pirates (Croc's pirates) goal will be to annihilate the BB pirates.
-
I think they won't disband; rather, they would carry on WB's work - creating a family for those who need one.

I think they will still do that, but by disbanding they could spread it out more.
-

To spread, they could branch out.
Bit like Disney. When Walt died, they didn't change the name of his company. By keeping the name, they pay respect to the man who started it all (there better be at least a bronze statue of him) .

If they recruit Moria they don't have to miss him at all.

I wanted to vote on this but I couldn't decide, so I read the whole thread to find out what side has the better arguments.
Here now I stand, poor fool, and see I'm just as wise as formerly. Both sides have good points. It could work either way. Good writing Oda! You still have the choice. -
The White Beard pirates seemed to already have a lot of great leaders. They prob will go their seperate ways, but still willing to help each other out if needed
-
They will resume their actions in a few cover stories and join Luffy for the final war against the WG near the end of the story.
Interesting point there. Remember what Whitebeard told Blackbeard and the World Government when he was about to die? When someone finds the One Piece there's might be a chance that it will start another war between the World Government. That is why the WG are much more aware of getting rid of all the pirates than taking out those Revolutionaries.

Man, if there is a war, I hope all strawhet members are there, I missed them in this last arc
-
Wait, I've got it: they take Luffy to the New World. Then they vanish from the story until the very end which is when they suddenly pull a Big Damn Heroes moment and kick some ass.
The new WB pirates (Croc's pirates) goal will be to annihilate the BB pirates.
You're really persistent about the whole "Crocodile will become the new captain thing".
-

Whitebeard Pirates' Adoption Agency. Interesting…
I think they should just disband. Like the Rogers did. Maybe a few of them will become pirate captains themselves (like Shanks and Buggy), and old-timers like Marco and Mr. Frozen-Diamond can just retire like what Rayleigh did.
-
I think Marco will become the new captain of the Whitebeard Pirates but it xould go any way. And as for the name of the crew if they stay together, what's stopping them from keeping the name? When Jango succeeded Kuro as the captain of the Black Cat Pirates, they remained the Black Cat Pirates. Plus they all wear his mark with prride, right? Why wouldn't they keep the name Whitebeard Pirates if they stay together.
@Brook:Pretty Much Like "What will happened to spade pirates since their captain is dead"
Voted for #2
I think by then the Spade Pirates, like their former captain, enjoyed being in Newgate's crew. And I like to think that the former Spade Pirates were in the 2nd Division so that they could be led by their former captain again.
-
Buggy will become the leader of the WB Crew :D
LolBut seriously. They'll probably have the alliance a little disorganized since WB was the glue that kept the people together.
The actual WB crew will probably stick together, and probably under the WB name in honor of WB but they probably wont be nearly as strong or fearsome as they used to be.
-
They just aren't the Whitebeard pirates without Whitebeard. The 2nd strongest is seemingly Marco, and that's a big step down.
I predict them splitting up by divisions, and helping the Strawhats in the New Age, since they'll all have a lot of respect for Luffy.
-

Can we please stop this ridiculous "Jose" spelling? Aohige explained why it is dead wrong weeks ago.

Hmm, what's the correct spelling, then?

I know it's wrong, it's a joke.
-
@Sir:
Hmm, what's the correct spelling, then?
A definitely correct spelling doesn't really exist. But Jose is definitely dead wrong.
I know it's wrong, it's a joke.
Oh you sly little weasel you.
-
I use lots of incorrect words and names. Words like nakamate and hakition/hackition/hacki/haxi. Names like Jose and… umm... Butters (ok maybe not so many names). Dammit, why haven't I been using Clifford?
-
here is how it will go down…. lafitte (member of BB b pirates) will hypnotize all the whitebeard pirates and make them BB's sub-division. Then BB can really be yonkou. ... u never know with how clever bb is it could happen.
-
They are gonna die like 1980's rap.
-
The remainder of the Whitebeard pirates will become revolutionaries and fight the marines in the name of their fallen father… you heard it here first...
P.S. They will call Dragon their "Step-Father"...
-
I could definitely see Crocodile taking over as Captain. . .perhaps by revealing his secret, which would then have to be a close connection to Whitebeard.
Otherwise they'll just disband.
-
They will continue as a much reduced pirate crew probably under the leadership of Marco. They will most assuredly show up again, if for nothing else than the final war against the World Government–for them now it's personal, and they will back up Luffy for sure.
-
All I know is, if the rest of the Whitebeard Pirates decides to go after Blackbeard, they will get slaughter. I think Blackbeard will kill most of them and thus raising his bounty higher than everyone. Whitebeard pirates will cease to exist.
-
Jimbei joins the crew and Marco becomes the captain!
-
Marco isn't a pushover at all . I think they are gonna stick together it would be interesting to see what Crocodile is gonna do next since Whitebeard is dead.
-
The crew will most likely disband, WB was the glue holding them together. Remember the reason people most likely go out to sea with a crew is because of the captain himself.
-
They will semi disband and just join the revolutionary army by following Ivan.
-
I think they will disband and form pirate crews. maybe not all the captains will but i think marco and joz might end up making their own crews and the rest of the guys will split and join either one of the crews. whitebeard probably beat many of his now commanders back in the day and they ended up becoming his sons like he did with ace. they probably had their own aspirations in the past but let their desires go to form a family with whitebeard. although i think shanks might end up making an alliance with the new captains so they won't get destroyed in the new world. their former fame and power is what is going to get many pirate crews to target them so they can make a name for themselves and i'm sure the other emperors probably want to take them out for good. if they want to survive they have to for an alliance with shanks no matter what they do. either way they are in for a world of hurt now that whitebeard is dead.
although shanks not having any direct contact with whitebeard since he was on rogers ship makes me think that they were in separate parts of the new world and never had much contact with each other. maybe kaidou is the one that is closest to whitebeard and always had skirmishes with him and his allies. that might end up making it hard for shanks to get the word out to them that he wishes to ally himself with them.
