oh no that was Ace. The knight is Akainu and WB is the kid who throws a tantrum and swipes the pieces off the board.
It's my art interpitation of the war to "save ace"
Wrong thread this is about BB.

Not to mention that Blackbeard has no interest in the title Whitebeard holds, he'll settle for nothing less than pirate king. also his original plan had nothing to do with the Whitebeard pirates, they're just an add on. and throw in to that that he has already said that he considers Whitebeards era to be over, and that he's he according to him is just there to watch him die.
Shanks: Do you understand what I'm saying, Whitebeard?!
He was waiting for his chance… He didn't take a captain's position, he didn't take the fame.
He was spending all of his time hiding in the shadow of your name!!!
And when he gained his power... he struck.
Ultimately, he will seek the very top.
Of his OWN will!!
Eventually, he will even come to steal YOUR position!!
Felt the need to point it out.
With that out of the way, why can't Teach have the Yonkou position as his next stepping stone towards being The King. He's still very much an unknown quantity to the most of the pirate world, especially as his shichibukai status lasted for quite a short time.
Though, I'd personally would like to see Newgate go out unmatched.
Felt the need to point it out.
I'd say that Shanks got that part wrong, unless Blackbeard's given up on being the pirate king that is. If not then him saying that he will surpass Whitebeard would've been a more likely interpretation.
Then there is the fact that Whitebeard will be dead in minutes no matter what he does, so if he for some strange reason wanted a yonkou title one would be up for grabs in the new world anyhow.

Blackbeard doesnt seem like the kind of man who cares the slightest what those around him thinks.
Those who's respect it is worth having already knows that he's not a man to be taken lightly. And he'll probably cement that reputation with what he's gonna reveal here at Marineford.
I just dont see him playing into the constructs of the old generation. Unless it serves a particular purpose for him.
I'd say that Shanks got that part wrong, unless Blackbeard's given up on being the pirate king saying that he'll surpass him would be more likely.
They are just stepping stones towards his PK status you are almost acting like becoming a yonkou will make it impossible to become PK. He was pretty much unknown before this so he is taking steps towards becoming more powerful AND more notorious.
Those who's respect is worth having already knows that he's not a man to be taken lightly. And he'll probably cement that reputation with what he's gonna reveal here at Marineford.
You just gave me an idea, maybe he'll unzip his pants and whip out Teach junior to gain instant yonkou status!

That's why i added that part at the end, where i said that i dont think he'll just quietly step into the old power constructs.
In the way that I think Blackbeard sees things, things like the yonkou, and shichibukai are yesterdays news, who hold no alure for a guy who'll shape this coming era to his will.
Blackbeard will in fact lunge towards whitebeard when his gaurd is down and latch onto the exposed area of his skull.
His plan all along was to eat whitebeards brains….the true nature of his df is absorbing the lifeforce of other living creatures to enhance his own. His power will increase 10x and he will rule the sea with an iron fist.
can you say mmmmmmmmmm brains?

I don't think Shanks meant the yonkou position that Teach is going after but rather the strength and influence Newgate has.
As it was said, it's people who call the The Yonkou. Just a fancy name to describe the real powers of the ocean. After the fall of Whitebeard the equilibrium shatters. Many forces will make their move and Teach will be among the top, but not the top one. He still has a way to go, similarly to Luffy, and rise through the New World is that way. One does not simply walk into Raftel - and a middle stage is neccessary, whatever it is called - Yonkou, Shichibukai or Happy Gentleman Club of the Rainbow Sea.
I hope I made sense.
Blackbeard doesnt seem like the kind of man who cares the slightest what those around him thinks.
And yet, he was gaining reputation in the first part of the Grand Line, searching for high bounties, in his attempt to get a bukai seat.
Also, though he himself didn't say that, isn't being known around is kind of a point of fame and fortune stuff?
Those who's respect it is worth having already knows that he's not a man to be taken lightly. And he'll probably cement that reputation with what he's gonna reveal here at Marineford.
Shanks knew him from the old Roger days, when both crews rivaled each other. But to the other pirates, the Whitebeards' didn't have such a relation. As Newgate mentioned, there aren't many people left from those days. So the third and fourth Yonkou must have came afterwards. Would they know Teach? May be; may be not.
Anyways, the wave he starts today in Marineford will get him far. But he won't go endlessly with the flow.
I don't think Shanks meant the yonkou position that Teach is going after but rather the strength and influence Newgate has.
Well personaly i just cant see a reason for why Blackbeard would want to have influence over or rule a part of the sea.
One does not simply walk into Raftel - and a middle stage is neccessary, whatever it is called - Yonkou, Shichibukai or Happy Gentleman Club of the Rainbow Sea.
How about just calling it being a kickass era shaping pirate who goes his own way.
I just dont see him taking that old title, to me there is as little chance of that happening as there is of Luffy doing the same.
And yet, he was gaining reputation in the first part of the Grand Line, searching for high bounties, in his attempt to get a bukai seat.

To get access to impel down yes, and then he threw the title right away because it doesnt mean squat to him.
Like i said i can see him using it if there is a practical purpose for it, but i dont see him giving a rats ass about being a yonkou or being the worlds strongest man. Unless those things turn out to be absolutly neccesary to his end goal which i dont see.
As i understand his character, he like Luffy probaby hasnt got the slighest bit of interest in "ruling" the sea or having a famous name, he could have had all that at Whitebeards crew. he wants to be the pirate king and the rest can go hang.
can't believe blackbeard indirectly took down a yonkou and a commander of the whitebeard pirates…
can't believe blackbeard indirectly took down a yonkou and a commander of the whitebeard pirates…
2 commanders.
He probably gonna kill WB too.

@AdmiralYonkouMt.Bandit:

actually he killed one commander directly but I get your point….in the words of that australian guy from jurassic park.."Clever Girl" (quote directed at Blackbeard)
Actually he killed one commander directly but I get your point….
Actually you said "took down", to which Zik corrected you. Blackbeard "took down" two commanders. You never said killed.
When I looked at his post again I took the "indirectly" part in to consideration. So technically he's right unless BB does "take down" WB directly even though he's already been beaten up and is close to death regardless.
Whether "take down" means to fight or kill is up in the air. For some reason I always assumed he fought with Thatch before killing him.
Actually you said "took down", to which Zik corrected you. Blackbeard "took down" two commanders. You never said killed.
From general knowledge of the events that take place in OP you can infer I meant kill. What else could you possibly interpret from take down in the specified context? (you know Whitebeard will die and Ace is already dead)
The only argument you can have with my original statement is that wb could directly be killed off by Blackbeard…I prematurely assumed someone else would do the deed.
From general knowledge of the events that take place in OP you can infer I meant kill. What else could you possibly interpret from take down in the specified context?
Well, Luffy "took down" Crocodile, for example. "Took down" doesn't explicitly mean kill, so your statement is fairly ambiguous. Either way, semantics aside, I just wanted to point out that Zik wasn't necessarily wrong in correcting you.
Whatever BB does, I hope he won't kill Garp. We have enough source of angst for Luffy as it is.
And he better not kill Sengoku. Who else will feed pwngoat?
So…when is Blackbeard going to get his ship?
Me guess is that his ship is San Juan the Colossal Battleship….
I see this as a bigger theory than most, so I thought this deserved it's own topic. That's just opinion though, I do apologize if this has to be moved. It just seemed like a very One Piece universe changing theory that is a very possible one.
Blackbeard's devil fruit and crew all represent darkness, a void of nothingness. Blackbeard's very abilities represent this. He consumes things, then throws them out.
The hints lead me to believe his master plan is to bring down the World Government, or at least badly damage them, by announcing to the world their biggest secret of all: The Void Century. It makes sense, mostly because of the representation of darkness, it's portrayed as a void of nothingness. Also, the fruit's "Black Hole" and "Regurgitation" ability. It represents the whole secret. The secret was consumed by Blackbeard and the Gorusei, among some of Roger's crew. Regurgitation represents Blackbeard finally spitting the truth out. This would rock the world to it's core, without a doubt, and change damn near everything, giving more chaos to the New World.
As for how he learned it? Roger, Rayleigh, etc. A very big possibility is that he heard Whitebeard speaking about it it, who was likely told by Roger.
Thus, he began his plan to take the Yami Yami no Mi, thus be able to get into the Shichibukai. He noticed Luffy, and tried that. However, the plans changed, thus, Ace was his next stop. He planned the Impel Down Break in AND the war, because either luffy OR Ace being executed would've likely lead down the same path. Ace would've went to rescue Luffy, Whitebeard would've helped, etc. He needed he become a Shichibukai because he needed access to Impel Down, thus, bam. New crew that helps himself through the New World + easy access to Marineford where he could reveal the Void Century's secrets.
Any thoughts or opinions? I see that there is far more to Blackbeard than meets the eye, and his knowledge of the void century could be his secret.
It could be possible. But what will happen with Robin her dream then? It's her dream to find all the Rio Poneglyph with the True History… if Blackbeards tell it. What will happen with that dream?
To be honest, I don't see it happen.
Blackbeard is awesome so it wouldn't suprise me if he knew everything about everything. Good thread 10/10
Also if you follow his void darkness theme, his bounty is 0.
BB is a D. so he has to be connected in a way sooner or later with the void century.
but i think its more likely that he doesn`t rly want to revive that kingdom(or that century)..he more would aim for the ancient weapons to use them for his goods.
also as far as the story is in my opinion the revival of the void century will be done by luffy to chance the world and destroy the WG..
so BB aiming for it more likely with a dark motive and luffy doing it actually by accident with help of robin, but it brings world peace.
As mentioned, The entire Void History is so mistirious it is hard to unravel.
! ]
Than we have the Rio Poneglyphs and each being some sort: piece of a puzzle and you get to slowly put them together as you travel the Grand Line. If BB is to reveal it…that gopes to waste
Robin also has her Dreams completed in that moment and the very reason she decided to join the crew. (thought they are friends they dont need her in the history sense anymore)
Not to mention that BB knowing the history is imo far-fetched. Imo only rogers crew got to know it as if other crews did, it would no longer be a mistery, as I could imagine someone sooner or later would tell the tale and imo it would happen long before BB.
No I think BB has yet to learn it himself and the fact that he has come to gether such a crew and is probably going to use that strength in next few chapters...thats the SHAKING of the world sentence
But does BB, have a crewmember that can read that stuff?.
Sanji had his dream of wanting to be an invisible man and he turned out fine even when Absalom had it.
Well personaly i just cant see a reason for why Blackbeard would want to have influence over or rule a part of the sea.

I dont know I personally think there is a reason why each of the yonkou is "owning" a teritory
This is my Theory from way back. I dont say its like that but something along those lines:
When did he become a General ??
That is not why he went with Luffy as also not his ultimate dream
he went with luffy just because of nami
that was his dream and he achieved it…partly:blink:
Everyone has pretty much come to the conclusion that the last final stand, the fight for One Piece, the last part of the series… will take place at Raftel. We've all also assumed that The Strawhats will be fighting Blackbeard and his crew once there. If the Strawhats stay at their same size then it will be 9 vs 10. But considering it stays this way, with no added crewmembers, an epic one on one fest could still happen.
So who will it be? We need to pit each member against another. It would be perfect and epic for each character to have a good, one on one battle. Here are the matchups that I see most likely.
Luffy vs. Blackbeard
This is pretty obvious. Captain vs. Captain. Luffy vs. the "Boss" of the arc. It makes perfect since. The main problem is exactly how Luffy would beat Blackbeard.
Zoro vs. Shiryuu
Thats what we need. A good swordfight for Zoro. The only REAL swordfight Zoro has had was against Ryuuma. I wouldnt really count Kaku or the like. Zoro and Shiryuu just seems like the obvious matchup.
Nami vs. Lafitte
I know what you're thinking. It's because they're both navigators. While this is partly true, I would also like to see how Nami would use the weather to effect Lafitte's flying ability in a fight.
Usopp vs. Van Auger
This one is pretty obvious as well. I can see Usopp throwing him off with his questionable techniques, and I want to see more Usopp battles like his fight with Luffy.
Sanji vs. Jesus Burgess
This would be a good physical fight with no ranged attacks to adhere Sanji. I can just see them beating the hell out of eachother in a really good fight.
Chopper vs. Doc Q and Stronger
Yeah, I know, Doctor vs. Doctor. But I just know Doc Q has got up his sleeve with those scythes. I want a cool, interesting fight.
Nico Robin vs. Catarina Devon
This one seems likely. Two strong women characters up against eachother. AND I WANT A REAL ROBIN FIGHT, DAMN IT. Ahem. :ermm:
Franky vs. Basco Shot
Not much I can say about this one. Just looks like a good opponent for Franky. Very…. vs. Franky-ish.
Brook vs. Unnamed Criminal
Eh, I dunno. He looks very interesting, and Brook is an interesting fighter.
Combined Effort vs. San Juan Wolf
I think the rest of the crew might fight him while Luffy fights Blackbeard. If a tenth member is added, they could fight him.
So what do you guys think? Agree? Disagree?
^^ Sorry, but this doesn't warrant much discussion, let alone deserve its own thread. You are basically just telling people what you think will be the final match ups– an assumed prediction for something that might happen in, what, ten years?-- will be, and why. Even then, this is stuff for the Blackbeard thread, as it is more or less all purpose. We don't need a new thread for every piece of Blackbeard related speculation, and certainly not for versus speculation. Sorry, but them's the breaks.

Disagree. a little ;)
Brook vs Laffite. Agility of brook vs laffite's flying ability
San Juan Wolf Vs Franky and Thousand Sunny Mecha (similar to Mazinger Z)
For my, fights of robin, nami and sanji are far for clear now
The others are Ok
Boy this match ups are all ver the place constantly…
WTF go away with Mechas they fucking suck, i hate mechas mangas/animes i hope Franky doesnt do that to sunny(well i know he isnt) just let the crew beat it in a combined effort like Oars much better then that.
MECHAS SUCK

Indeed I have always avoided mecha-related animes so I sure hope Oda isn't going there.

Well I think burgess won't be Sanji's. it will be the unknown guy or Basco Shot in my book

Better stop reading the series before the Ancient Weapons appear then. ;)

No, that's just my speculation that vehicles will combine into a huge robot. You know this being a Japanese manga that's even called One Piece and all. :ninja:
Hmmm I wonder what that reminds me of~ :ninja:

The only time Oda used the mecha thing was basically to make fun of it, which gives me some confidence he won't go there but always possible ofcourse. But either way I doubt One Piece is a big mecha bot :P

He did say that he always wanted to do a Mecha series. Epic foreshadowing?
pluton is a huge battleship…its perfect the way it is:tongue: don
t mecha weapons which alone could rule the world...
gross thought to mecha them...awww would be horrible for the whole manga!!!!!
