Tigerlilly
! >! I assumed you were nice…
! > Really now? Let us recap: The only ground that really determines if a crew member joins is if Luffy likes and trusts said character. The rest is really secondary. Hancock, Marge, Jinbei and probably even Galdino have done him a favour at one point of the story and Luffy was shown grateful to them.
! I hate to actually shoot this down, but that's basically half of it. You are correct that Luffy invites people he likes, or people he thinks are "cool" for some reason. However, everything in BOLD matters not.
! The level of help someone does for her or towards him doesn't matter. It has been proven that even if you cuss out Luffy and totally beat the heck out of his friends, you are still in the running to be a crew member.
! Let's do Zoro, he wasn't even shown to have helped Luffy once prior to the convincing hint that allowed Luffy to gather all his "being" towards inviting him. The things that Zoro did weren't even related to Luffy in any sense, Zoro was compassionate and basically saved a girl from a wolf, and also would later eat the 'dirtball' as a means of making sure her feelings weren't hurt. After Luffy heard the situation, he was then willing to invite Zoro without any care about him declining or anything like that.
! In the end, Luffy was willing to invite him even though Zoro did nothing for Luffy.
! Take the case with Franky, who basically had just decided to make a ship for them, and that was the only good deed that Luffy directly saw Franky do, the only thing that made Luffy say "Oh, so he is a good guy!!" and that was very late and it was surprising how he forgave him for all that he did to Usopp. Interesting, ain't it?
! Then, he was even willing to make a claim that Robin was a 'good guy' because he heard that she let Vivi follow her, which is interesting on the whole situation that she blew up the boat that Igarum was on. Case in point, Luffy is basically very easy to tempt to get him to invite you.
! Therefore, this isn't a reliable means of finding out who will be the next nakama. Not even remotely close. So, in order to have a better chance to figuring out/ predicting who will join, people would have to add new things for people to basically consider… New factors.
! The first and easiest one is to find a clear pathway for the character to get into a position of being able to be invited by Luffy. If this isn't applicable, then the character has very little support to join. Then, if this is applicable, the character must be examined in a deeper sense.
! Clues like "position requirements" are searched for and if there isn't any given foreshadowing of a future role, this is basically without merit since there isn't anything to base it off of. However, the smart and assertive thing to do is examine the known details and check if the position the character may be able to perform isn't taken. For instance, if a character is a captain of a certain pirate crew, then chances are that the captain position isn't needed for the Straw Hats anymore. Same goes for all of the other ones:
! 1. Captain
- Swordsman/ First Mate
- Navigator
- Sniper
- Cook
- Doctor
- Archeologist
- Shipwright
- Musician
! If a character holds any of these positions, by title of an infobox or word of mouth, that character can safely be removed or at least lose support towards that character joining.
Perona: she has no named position, and she does seem to be able to hold one of a unique name as well as bring something to the crew.
! So, Perona has a probable potential to hold a position because she did not officially join Moria as the title she held when she was introduced, in fact, without Hogback on the crew, she'd never be able to join with that title in effect, and since he wasn't there prior to her, she couldn't have been the Surprise Zombie or Animal Zombie commander due to Hogback being the one to make them all. Perona joined with a position/ role that we don't know of, and if Moria could have survived with just three people (including him) before he got Hogback ten years ago, she must have been of some use to him with some skill that she can bring.
! Case in point, Perona has potential to bring that to the Straw Hat Crew.
! –---------------------------
! The next thing that is needed to join and remain on their crew officially would be a dream. Now, this is a very difficult one to bother with, but the point of discussion in a summed up version, Perona hasn't stated a "dream" as of yet. So, she still holds that potential in the future.
! Now, people like to claim that her statement of a DREAM COUNTRY would translate to her actually hinting towards a specific dream of some sorts, but that's not the case... As the dreams have been very direct:
! * Luffy wanted to be the Pirate King. [Is basically ongoing… According to dramatic structure, he is bound to succeed due to all the recent misfortune. Blackbeard may get it before him and then he'll defeat him for it, or it may be that Luffy does it on his own some other time...]
- Coby has wanted to be a Marine. [Now, he wants to be an Admiral.]
- Zoro wanted to be number one swordsman. [Ongoing]
- Kuina wanted to be the number one swordsman. [Dead, passed on to Zoro]
- Buggy wants to be the Pirate King. [Ongoing…]
- Nami (originally) wanted to collect 100 million and buy a village. [Changed to draw a map of the world…]
- Gaimon wanted to find treasure. [Completed, he found the people on his island as his treasure.]
- Usopp wants to be a brave warrior of the sea [wasn't known at first, and the actual hinted dream would best be that Usopp wants to be like his father… this one is like the biggest misleading piece of shit dream in the manga.]
- Onion wants to be a writer.
- Carrot wants to be a carpenter.
- The other member of the Usopp pirates (I'm drawing a blank for his name…), he wants to be an owner of a tavern.
- Kaya, a doctor.
- Sanji wants to find All Blue.
- Zeff wants to find All Blue.
- The workers there want to have a place to stay where they can act like they act, basically they want to remain at Baratie.
- Kreig wants to be Pirate King.
- I don't want to do Gin since he is indirect and not direct… He has a dream too, but it's not on point with this...
- Arlong has a dream for an empire.
- Bellemere wanted to be a mother, a good one…
- Tashigi wants to save the swords.
- The sword shop owner wants a good swordsman to do what he never could do, basically a swordsman dream. A "man's dream" if you will…
- Laboon to meet Brook and such, promise.
- Broggy and Droggy have the same one.
- Mr. 5 had one but I forgot. Probably fixing things…
- Ms. Goldenweek wanted to be a realist painter.
- Ms. Valentine had one, but I forgot. I think it had to do with chocolates.
- Mr. 4 wanted to be a pizza guy.
- A princess is what Ms. Merry Christmas wanted to be.
- Paula I forgot…
- Chopper wanted to create a medicine to cure all sicknesses.
- Dalton wanted to free the country.
- Wapol just wanted to be king and powerful…
- Ace says he wanted to make WB the PK, but in reality he wanted someone to tell him that it was okay for him to live.
- Vivi wants to be a princess with her country and for her country.
- All the political blabber is easy to do, most of them aren't worth the detail.
- Gunfall wanted to have peace between the two societies on the Sky Island.
- Robin wanted Rio Poneglyph and learn of True History.
- The Saruyama alliance has dreams too, especially Montblanc Norland.
- Blackbeard wants to be Pirate King.
- Crocodile wanted to be Pirate King.
- Wyper wanted to Light the Fire of Shondria and ring the bell for the promise to be completed and end the regret of Calgara as well as many others…
- Enel wanted to head towards the Moon.
- Can't remember anything concerning Foxy.
- Franky wanted to be the best shipwright and surpass Tom.
- Iceberg wanted to basically save Water 7.
- Brook with Laboon and the promise.
- Spandam wanted to take over the world.
- Mr. 1 wanted to become a SUPAMAN…
- Hogback wanted love, Cindry's.
- Absolam and Lola seem to dream of marriage.
- Moria wants Pirate King.
- Etc.
! Ms. Perona has a very interesting quote, which I've argued over a billion times… And I cannot deny that you can read it as her wanting to basically have a dream country under her control. It's true to the reading comprehension, however, it's NOT true to the validity that this is her dream. For instance, Crocodile had a lot of World Domination and taking over with the Ancient Weapon, however, it wasn't revealed until much later that his REAL dream was actually to become the pirate king. Same with Nami who stated that she wanted to buy some island, but in reality it wasn't even close to her official dream.
! So, this is something that forces me to think over and question the dream, especially since it was never stated or shown directly. Perona could easily have a dream outside of this when you include the idea that Moria had NO zombies at all, and there was basically NO way that he could bring them back without Hogback, so Perona joined him without any known reason at all. Therefore, according to the manga, we can assume her with at least some backstory and at least some motive aside from the shown stuff, because they cannot hold up towards the past. Whatever the young Perona wanted, she seemed to slightly BLOCK that as Nami BLOCKED her own desires. So, it could very well be that Perona has a dream of some sorts, one that we don't know of.
! ---------------------------
! I get ridiculed a lot above this, but the other important thing is "size" and the reason why is because of Franky. If he didn't have a dream ship and his dream revolve around that ship, we could have a bigger character in the crew... But, the dimensions of a ship are scaled towards the blueprint that is drawn perfectly well to apply all the physics of the sea towards the very design. If you were to increase the dimensions of the outside of the whole entire ship, you'd cause problems... For instance, if a character is too tall, the whole ceiling must increase and that would affect the buoyancy of the ship. Which will make it less likely to stay a float through major storms and currents... Making interior altercations are very well possible as well as fixing things that aren't against the overall design specs. However, increasing the ship's size even by a tad inch will change everything inside the ship and create misfortune towards Franky's dream and the crew's survival.
! Take a tower, if you make it too thin and too tall, chances are that powerful wind will topple it over... If you don't plan for earthquakes, the house will break and topple over... If you don't create an airplane that is scaled, the airplane will break and topple... If a spaceshuttle is basically even a micrometer off, the chances of it exploding or having damages from the atmosphere are higher.
! So, as every other occupation does basically expect some things being engineered towards the blueprint, and then basically having to be remodeled with reasonable specs and balanced completely, the same applies to that of a ship. However, the ship isn't on stable ground and as the airplane is basically flying in the sky, the ship is moving on the water, if the design isn't well done, the ship or the plane will basically break. That is natural and Oda understands this because he has many examples of how the whole damage will lead to things being broken or worse. Even Zoro says "each wave will inflict damage onto a ship, unlike a human that can heal, a ship cannot."
! So, since the Thousand Sunny was already shown, we can expect that any future nakama to JOIN, Oda will basically make sure that their size fits on scale of the ship and won't trouble them. Otherwise, the whole thing reflects upon the skill of Oda himself and if he ignores this, he would basically leave trouble towards the "realistic" aspect of the manga... Which he tries to follow quite well. In fact, he researched the time needed to make sure that the physics of Kizaru were correct, not incorrect and exaggerated.
! Due to the ship being already made for the past 200 chapters, anything concerning a future character that is bigger than it would ultimately be eliminated by default.
! -------------------------
! Other than that, the other common thing is the past and as far as Perona goes, she has a whole hidden backstory that can resurface.
! So, when that stuff happens, she'll be in the running to be a full-pledged nakama.
! So, since I've spent a long time on this... I'm just going to sum it up:
--Position = can be
--Past = can be
--Dream = can be
--Everything else = can be
! The reason why it can be is because Oda can use Perona as a character that was either connected to Kaidou, where he can use her as a rescue arc material... He has done this with Nami and Robin, where they join without any backstory and later have it shown after a few arcs, so I assume he'll continue since he did it with Vivi as well and did it with Conis too as well as some other females.
! So, the only thing needed to prove that Perona has a shot at being the next nakama to argue on a means of her being able to head to the ship and get an invite.
! You should agree that there's now no doubt that Luffy would invite her if she helped Zoro out, in healing his wounds and taking him to SA.
! Since, I spend my time stressing that she's bound to be the one that takes him to SA, the point would also explain how she gets there...
! The only thing I cannot explain is when and so on, the reason is because this isn't my point to explain since I didn't make One Piece. Oda can be as flexible as he wants with this... he can make it where she's there at the end, when Luffy recovers and is ready to depart, or he can do it when Luffy is unconscious and isn't awake.
! Heck, he can do it prior to this war arc even... But the problem with all of that is that she basically has to end up on SA and follow this path, she does. And since Zoro would be there, it'd be highly likely that he and Perona would enter the war, probably for their own reasons, however, since Mihawk is there, chances of this happening are zero.
! It leads to an unknown time, but that time seems to point in the direction of AFTER the war, and that's basically up for grabs concerning when.
! It really doesn't matter though and none of it is relevant, to her at least.
! > He showed zero interest in Perona to this point, save for her ghosts amusing him.
She'll most probably travel back with Zoro. Cause as much as your neverending discussions about her made me grow tired of her character, she is entertaining and it would be a waste to re-introduce her for no reason. But the Perona we see at this point of the story is hardly strawhat material. When she actually reappears, and she gets a little bit more screentime, maybe even a little change in her attitude, come again. But until then
I'm sorry if I made you hate her, but I've been timid with all of these anti-Perona people.
! I agree that she isn't yet a SH character, however, the future can change that… You have to look at how each former female was a nakama... They weren't shown crystal clear that they would stay forever, in fact, they lacked a lot of the stuff many think a SH crew member must have.
! Nami:
! * lacked a shown past.
- lacked a dream worthy of travel into the future…
- lacked desire as well.
- so on and so on.
! Robin:
! * Lacked everything except a dream…
! So, the result was that each character had to "change" over time…. Robin started to show her characterization and same with Nami, and as the story went on, they bonded with the crew. After that, they both left... They left them and the rescue arc came in.
! In that rescue arc, we were shown everything that dealt with the SH material nonsense and then they rejoined...
! So, in the sense of a female, Perona can follow this rule too. Even though she lacks basically EVERYTHING, the one thing she has is a different personality and various other characterization that isn't the same. So, in the end, Perona doesn't fail any point [except the Hax DF, which could be fixed by Haki]… She's set to join, if Oda wants her to...
! Does he want her?
! You decide:
! * Oda removed her from her former lifestyle and isolated her away from everyone else…
- Oda made sure that she was unhappy for about 2 weeks before Zoro landed, or at least a week.
- Oda kept her a secret for so long and brought her into the story plot with a way to basically NOT meet Moria at all.
- Oda moved Moria to a war, and showed him getting his butt whooped, might have killed him even.
- Due to Zoro and Mihawk, Oda has ensured the reader that she's not coming to the war.
- Due to Zoro sucking with directions and being foreshadowed to fail, Oda has shown a clear way for her to head to the ship.
- Due to the belongings she may hold being placed on the Thousand Sunny, Oda has given her a chance to jump on board and just follow them without the need of getting her supplies and such.
- Due to the whole entire situation, Oda has shown her to have a lot of support in her character and has left enough space for him to introduce her as a full nakama in the future.
! So, what do you see? I see that he is working his magic to force Perona to travel towards the ship and then jump on and head to FI with them… Furthermore, the idea that Perona knows some things about the future islands as a toddler helps her have a future connection, after all, she was shown being with Moria prior to Thriller Bark -crossing- the Red Line from the NW side.
! If you have any questions concerning her potential to join, please ask me, I would love to try and answer them as best I can...
Deicide
! > Well, there's a lot of foreshadowing for Hancock. Nami's playing with clothes way back in Logue Town made her appear both in clothes that looked like Robin's and a dress that has a vague semblance with Hancock's current dress.
Hancock was created way back, she's a major boss, and there's the rumor about a major boss joining the crew before they head to the New World.
Hancock's first appearance happened in a chapter whose colorspread was showing all the Strawhats first appearances.
Hancock must go with Luffy if she wants to live because she loves him.
! * The rule is that Nami wore the first outfit and it matched the OUTFIT that Robin appeared in… So, that means the second must match with the first event concerning Robin... It clearly isn't the same since Hancock's current outfit isn't the same as Nami's second outfit on there... This is a pattern, and one that fails. So, the rule isn't applicable and this doesn't hold up.
- That rumor isn't applicable, and Greg says so too… He was the one that started that, so take it up with him if you want... In my opinion, it was never even remotely applicable and always inconsistent, nor accurate to claim it refers to any character...
- Perona's first appearance was on the ship with the rest of the gang… Obviously, the first actual appearance wasn't with anyone ... I know that title page and art quite well... It's total BS. The title follows the Shichibukai rule. The artwork may be a random one for no reason, we don't know... It's a coincidence and a damn good one, I admit, but I don't buy the intentions of it.
- That's a terrible reason. LOVE SICKNESS is an assumption you take for granted, the truth using science proves that "love" cannot be a virus, unless in literal form, and if it's in the latter, it's total BS and wouldn't kill at all, harmless. So, you are basing it upon one criteria, what Nyon says. If you base it upon her word, then you'd have to question how she survived… Cause, obviously, the thing that killed the others was them not eating. They were doing what Hancock did before hand, stopped eating... Idiots, I know they are. So, the culprit of death = starvation!! Love sickness is a pathetic argument if you understand the descriptions concerning it. Furthermore, the idea that some character will join for romantic reasons is false-- it can't be because Oda claimed he won't do it in the interview for the playboy magazine thing... He literally can't do it then.
! Result is that I only agree with the coincidence being vaguely accurate, but I disagree that it helps… Next!!
! > But the thing is: all that can mean nothing. It's very easy to spot foreshadowing after the foreshadowed event happened. In hindsight, anything can be foreshadowed. Even Perona Joining.
! Try checking the manga for consistency, because I've given you many examples being always shown, and you've offered nothing to rebuke it.
! If you want to get into it even more, it seems like he is setting her up:
! You decide:
! And there's no reason to doubt that, it's just there… For Hancock, you have to question things, because some of them are questionable and that's what kills her entire chance to join. She doesn't have that connection towards the future.
! > I'm not biased. I admit I just want Hancock to join and I'm not shoting down others' opinions. You are the one who hides behind fallacies.
! Even if you were, I've heard worse… Seriously, I'm sick of Hancock thanks to OMF, they drove me crazy over there...
! As far as the rest goes, being passive is no fun... It's so boring and such, without a debate, the life on this thread loses interest, at least that's my humble opinion.
! > But can she go on without him?
! On OMF, I've heard this over a trillion times… It was such a pain to hear.
! The answer is "yes" because Nyon was able to survive and that's proof alone. If not happy yet, check up above and read that thing... It's pretty clear that LS didn't kill anyone, it was their nutrition retardation that did.
! I'm positively confident that Boa Hancock can go on, like she went on and lived from leaving Luffy back at Impel Down for like a day or more... If she can last a whole day, she can certainly last two and then on... It's not true that she'd die, that's just what you consider as a myth within a manga, as in a false truth being used to trick you... For instance, check this week's spoiler and compare it to what people assumed when all the ships had left Impel Down.
! I can't prove to you that LS is a false statement, but if you think over it and apply logic and fact [yes, from real life], you'd see it my way. A virus, to be deadly, must be in the form of a physical specimen. The literal version, that one isn't going to lead to death… It's nothing big at all.
! > No, judge you because you're being an ass to everyone else in this thread.
! I've been treated far worse than I treat some people… I can be friendly and kind if people wouldn't do one-liners full of mockery and continuous big sized font with "PERONA <<<<<<<<<<< USOPP" when I've already showed them the entire thing they base their argument on, and proved that it's not true.
! I'm usually a nice guy, but I have got fed up with a lot of the sarcasm in the forum... Nothing against you, but my lack of patience makes it hard for me to keep my cool/ passive voice.
! Furthermore, let's play games!!
! > Your "sure path" is not so clear as you try to make it. You shot down the possibility that Zoro could stumble upon a ship or shipyard because "nothing so far has shown it existing in the island", so how can Perona lead Zoro out of the island if she couldn't by herself? Let's remember that Sabaody is an archipelago, so they need a boat. How will Perona provide it to Zoro? Is Perona a navigator?
! The supplies to create a ship are present, the time and effort to do that is also there… The skill, which is in question, can be there and since Zoro has said "I am good at cutting" in Usopp's arc, it seems that the supplies and material needed to make the raft/ ship are able to be provided.
! The country is in ruins, or it looks like it... If there is a ship on the coast, then it's possible they take it. Otherwise, they'd have to make one and the time since they were out there has been a week, so they could very well make a ship in that length of time, or at least an able substitute.
! Now, Perona needs no reason to be a navigator... She can "follow" the vivre card because she has been shown to be able to track down a ship after the flash bullet went off and get inside of it through a fog and then some. She's your modern day GPS... That's all we need from her since the Vivre card only points in one direction anyway, so as long as she can follow that path, she's able to head there...
! Of course, they need supplies and they have an entire island for them. Furthermore, she's been there for at least a week or more, so she has to have some food and water to survive... Since the basics are basically those, they would have everything they need to survive.
! If you disagree, then explain why not. Or make up something concerning an unknown character... I'm just not jumping to conclusions with the island being populated when we've yet to see any "person" aside from two people that arrived there thanks to Kuma.
! > You're also ignoring all the foreshadowing that Perona likes where she is, but regrets the fact that she has no toys or servants to do her bidding. She's also a traitorous spoiled bitch who wants servants to do everything she wants and have the means to negate the willpower of others.
! That's your personal view of her, but in my opinion _, she is a lonely spoiled child that has had a tragic life and came along with a beat up, or left from Kaidou to help the beat up Moria… She basically found comfort in the guy's presence, so she basically was able to find someone to keep her company, even if he looks like a freak.
! However, in her situation, she's got no "company" [servants = company (you can't define servants since it is unique to the character and therefore you would have to basically be her, just like you can't define some meanings for certain characters that have a unique word they use.] and would prefer someone over being alone. Oda has shown this, and he has shown things that she wants which she can gain from the SH crew, as well as a means for that entire thing.
! I feel that she's bound to go with them because she's basically innocent in nature and character. She's got nothing for her here, so she's following, or will accompany, someone that she can literally talk to … Someone that she has at least saw for a little while. So, she'd basically drop this island on account of the lack of people and the extreme loneliness...
! Take Chopper, he basically was able to not go with the group, but that was the first group he saw in forever, so he went with them. Same with Brook, even though he basically didn't want to join, he accepted because they were the first people he saw in like 5 or 50 years... They were very lonely, and same with Robin and Nami. Perona is on pace to have the same situation, plus she's already got it set... Sure, she's basically been there for 2 weeks, or less, but she's been there long enough to understand that having her dream island and such isn't worth it without anyone to talk to ...
! That's the lesson and motivation on why she will follow him and then [when there are no better options on SA] board the ship.
! As far as the traitor comment goes, wouldn't that work even worse for Boa Hancock? Regardless, I'm going to ignore Boa Hancock and address Perona. It's false. Perona was with Moria for 10 years and she had to have a certain devotion outside of "zombies" since he never had them prior to Hogback joining… If he didn't have her "dreams" and desires, then she'd have no reason to join him... However, she did. And she stayed for 10 long years, through all the stuff Moria, who was defeated and probably half-dead when she met him, went through.
! You are basically ignoring those 10 years and then some by what her recent actions were: leaving his group on account of his own monster looking super zombie going out on a rampage and a bunch of powerful pirates going around doing carnage... Furthermore, someone that she'd basically lost to recently and was scared because Oars went around beating up and defeating the people she knew... She's basically scared for her life since she thought she died when Usopp hit her with a ten ton hammer... If you think about it, Nami and Robin betrayed them as well, and they aren't even remotely as loyal as Perona was... She's a very loyal person, she's been with the group for 10 whole years, if not longer... Then, when she "sees" total chaos unfold, she naturally and instinctively fears for her life.
! That treasure, what's to say that it isn't hers? She is the one that raids the ships and performs the duties and it's next to her room, which is interesting... Perhaps, that's her stuff and belongings.
! So, when you think about it, she's perfectly loyal...
! > Also, your entire argument is based on the fact that Perona is the likeliest to reach the ship. But that has nothing to do with her joining. You expect her to appear with Zoro, and Luffy then will ask her to join. Why would Luffy even ask that? What's foreshadowing that Luffy would even want her in the crew? And why would she even want to stay with the crew, since they are not dark and their ship's not spooky or with lots of servants to do her every bidding?
! Yes, that is true, but the point is that Luffy invites anyone and anything, there's no point to try and breakdown this… As long as she has done something for his nakama, she's fair game.
! If she reaches the ship, she's set.
! Why she would join:
! * She has helped Zoro's wounds.
- She has lead Zoro to the ship.
- She has watched over his crew member.
- Indirectly, she has given them money.
- She's got a nifty power.
! Those are all acceptable reasons on why she'd be invited…
! Why would she want to join:
! * She'll have people around her.
- She'll be able to sing accursed songs with Brook.
- She'll probably have toys that Franky makes, after all, he did protect two little sisters of his, and Chopper… She's basically a "female" Chopper in the sense of immaturity.
- She'll have food from Sanji, who called her a cutie-chan and he would do it since she's a girl.
- She'd have a warm bed…
- Chopper could force her to love it there…
- Robin seems to like the same hobbies and spooky stuff…
- Did I mention that she'd be very tempted to head with anyone since she stayed on an island alone for two weeks…
! Good enough? I can go on all day!!
! Foreshadowing:
! * Luffy wants to tame a ghost.
- Luffy likes her ghosts.
- Luffy may want to fight her ghosts…
! Good enough?
! > In the coverstory, she appears hovering behind Zoro, so she's not in her physical body. Sounds like someone who's trusting him and trying to help him leave? Maybe she's just following him, ready to unleash her ghosts on the "servant" who's trying to leave, and that shadow with a sword is actually a kind pirate that will cut the ghosts and save Zoro, showing him how to improve his fighting skills and giving him a way out of the island.
! I get this one a lot… I just don't understand why people make a big deal of it...
! Yes, she is floating. Reason is unknown, but here's some speculation [which really doesn't stop the point…]:
! * bird's eye view of the island…
- her physical body is tired and she won't manage the walking due to being the caretaker of Zoro and not sleeping the whole time.
- she left her body with the supplies, or something.
- she's able to look better by heading through walls and grow in size and stuff…
! She has some trust due to the "swords" being returned to him, the reason why is unknown, but he has his swords back…
! As for the last part, why? She's not like you state her as, she's very caring and compassionate. Don't watch the anime, it's very wrong. In no sense had Oda created her character to that extreme, the anime made her look far too snobby and such. Oda left her to be compassionate and kind, as some may think...
! She's a good girl and basically helped Zoro out even though she wouldn't gain anything from it, cause he could easily kill her... Usopp was a very scary man and this guy's bounty is higher than Usopp.
! So, chances are that the "shadow" is someone that will attack Zoro, not her. But, that's pointless to speculate since it doesn't change anything due to the "object" being unknown...
! > So, my friend, to copy your modus operandi: please give me logic answers that prove that Perona has the greater chance of joining. There may be reason for her to go with Zoro. There may be foreshadowing that she will go with Zoro. But there's zero evidence of her joining.
! If you need more, please tell me. I like constructive debates… But please look at those posts, don't just think "You're a jerk!!" and then dismiss them, or due to their excessive size... I hate when I read a "You type too much!!" comment or reply, it pains me.
! > Except that back then there was nothing saying Franky was even a shipwright. We only found about his dream later, when he kidnapped Usopp and was beaten by CP9.
! True, but his name was mentioned by Iceberg, which is a truthful thing… And, the whole career and ability of Franky was already indirectly told when we found out that the Franky Family were scavengers and dismantlers... When we knew that, the chances are that they were capable of creating a house and so on grew... So, it was there for you to look into, but it wasn't easy to notice it and Oda actually had to tell people directly at one point.
! Much like how he HAD to directly convince people that Freaking Ace is DEAD... Speaking of direct, it's amusing to see how much effort he puts into things just to SHOW people what he wants them to see...
! > [sarcasm]Wow, that proves 100% that Perona's going to join. Now everything is clear![/sarcasm]
So, you can use bullshit as "proof" but others can't?
! Alright, she was shown next to the whole crew, which wasn't done with any other character in any sense, except Robin… Vivi wasn't shown that way. Robin was.
! I figured you'd laugh at it, so I won't bother getting into the whole point of why it matters... It's not like I need to mention it, it's pretty much just supportive, not required.
! > TheFallen wins. AGOG loses. Fatality! Flawless Victory!
! When I answer it (I haven't answered it yet), I'll hope that you have read it and if I find something not true, I'll snicker about this…
! > Wow, man. That link's pure ownage. That's just cruel, you know.
! Sad to say, but I've countered the whole post… With relative ease. Dr. Manga no longer seems to doubt Perona joining... Seems to be that he now doubts Boa Hancock.
! Oh yeah, he was dead wrong on that post... Didn't even understand the post that he based it off of, just made fun of my character of choice for no reason... Moreso, that's just typical OMF behavior... Rude people, they are (so am I went I post on there!!)...
! Do not ever quote OMF, I've already heard all their replies and silenced them.
! > Of course, but would she join the crew? Or would she just tag along until she reaches her stuff and then negative-ghost all the Strawhats and rob them?
I still think that in the next coverstory, she will betray Zoro, and then the mystery swordsman will save him by cutting her ghosts.
! What would she gain from all of this?
! Furthermore, why on earth would the Perona from the MANGA have any of this in her characterization. She's not like she was shown in the anime, she's actually a good person.
! I really don't like Wikipedia, nor do I like Anime when involving Perona because they really screwed up on their characterization.
! Perona's an innocent little girl, inside, and a selfish naive brat on the outside… Gotta love characters that are dynamic!!
! > Can Perona be worked into a Strawhat? Yes. However, is she a great candidate right now? No.
! Robin wasn't either, but we didn't expect to see her get thrown off… With time, she will be on that position if Oda wants her.
! However, before that, she's bound to head with them towards the Vivi-part, and if she has a deeper backstory, she's going to stay forever!!
! > The problem is that people confuse "Helping Zoro = Joining the Team". By that logic, Heracles and the wizard guy are also candidates.
! No, I think that the idea is obvious concerning the character she helped… The other crew members aren't lost and they have ways of heading off of the island... Perona is with the retarded Zoro... Who can't do any navigation...
! Think about it again and then understand that she's pretty much set while the others aren't even remotely needed as plot devices... Nor are they even wanted.
! > AGOG's contribution to this thread: turning it into Perona bashing!
Ok, the little spoiled brat deserves to be curb-stomped…
! That's a damn lie… I've done quite a lot for this thread... Quite a lot...
! Look at that Perona support, people are starting to see her for what she really is and Jinbei is addressed as a fatty!!
! Go me!!
! As I am AGOG for PERONA!! ha ha ha...
! > But we had glimpses here and there that they were not bad persons. Nami cried when she betrayed the SH's. Robin saved Luffy's life twice before she joined.
As for Perona… read the link in my sig.
Can that change? Yes, it can. But it's hard to defend her until we get more facts about her. You like her? Good for you, and I'll defend your right to state your opinion, so long as you don't try to force fallacies into your logic.
! Perona's not bad either, nor does it state it that way… She's just young and childlike; furthermore, spoiled.
! That whole link has been countered, it holds no merit.
! It's so easy to defend her, she's like the most easiest character to defend, and for some biased reason, the hardest for many to accept... I hear things like, it's her ears, eyes, and even lips!!
! kmohyudin
! >! > I am just saying that stuff like that is not enough to disregard a characters potential recruitment. So, no I don't agree that Jimbei has ZERO chance because he is fat.
! It is enough when a crew member exists with the whole ship as his dream… Conflicting dreams cannot exist, therefore, some character being oversized and forcing the ship to be left behind is a big "no-no" and as Franky has said, he'd leave the ship before that...
! > Who said you can't be short and concise??
! I can't… Believe me, I can turn things into pages, within minutes...
! > "when the Shichibukai has already had their role finished, they'll be withdrawn from the plot like all of EB is." (I quoted this again for emphasis) What!? BB, Hawkeyes, Daflamingo, Kuma etc will be withdrawn like Kuro and Krieg?? Are you serious? Take note that crocodile was BROUGHT BACK in the story.
As for the bolded part… NO you are wrong. Sichibukai as a group are too important with too much importance to be side tracked they will remain till the very end. Either as allies or as enemies.
! Do we need to see Moria again? No.
Do we need to expect Hancock, who probably never been to the NW at all, to show up again? Probably not.
! People like Crocodile, Doflamingo, Mihawk, and Jinbei will still have future events to come… But the other three, they aren't seeming that impressive.
! Kuma is said to have died, unless he has any future to come back after all that he has done, he isn't important as a key player anymore.
! Doflamingo is foreshadowed to bring about the New Era, and we are supposed to see an arc or so dealing with this clown.
! Jinbei should be in FI if he doesn't die... If he does, we won't see anymore of him.
! Mihawk is stuck until his title is passed over to another, or until Zoro defeats him...
! Crocodile is stuck until Iva-san tells us his secret, anything else is not important...
! So, the Shichibukai don't matter, they aren't that important for the New World... They can already fulfill their characterization up to that point, so no need to bring them back.
! We don't expect to see Foxy, and Gedatsu, and CP9 and Enel coming back; why do we need characters that have the same result as these others?
! > You really place high value to foreshadowing don't you??
Okay I read this a while ago its from some dude called Miniluffy, he talks about all sorts of weird foreshadowing and stuff… Hope you enjoy
http://forum.onemanga.com/showpost.p…&postcount=104
Personally I think most of what he said is well… unorthodox.
! I read all of those long posts on OMF, in fact, I've pretty much made the longest post ever on that site, probably the ten longest posts ever…
! I've read that one, as well. It's "fail" at best. Especially since it is outdated...
! If you want, please read that post and understand that the whole post is biased completely after the first 4 lines. Everything after the first 4 lines is false and nothing more.
! It's a terrible informative post and such, although he took a lot of time on it, but it's totally not going to hold up and has already failed.
! > Here is another one for Perona. To me this one was even weirder, but I'd like your opinion on this…

I've already given my opinion and in the end I proved it to be baseless beyond belief. I proved that post FALSE in every way in and out. Guess what? Dr. Manga now believes that Perona has a chance, and starts to doubt Hancock…
! How surprising, and that was one of the most incorrect posts. It just mocks anyone that supports Perona, and therefore, the person made a bunch of mistakes...
! > see I can't find where Oda said this. The closest I could find was Oda reply to the will there be romance in the manga question being "of course, they are in love with adventure" and something about not wanting to write shojou manga… both vague

! Open the spoiler: An interview of Oda in January issue of Shueisha's Men's Non-No fashion magazine[DEC issue for us].Translated by greg
!
-It’s exactly 10 years since the animated series began and on December 12th the 10th movie will debut so to begin, you handled the story this time around, how was it?
! - At first I outright refused. I’m the kind of guy who can only take care of one thing at a time so to deal with both the comic and a story was just impossible. I know that about myself best so I asked them to let me off the hook but the producer who’s been good to me in the past wouldn’t give in so I explained my terms and said that if Mr. Children did the main theme then I’d do it. (laughs)
! - So that probably made your your already packed workload for the serialization even more difficult right?
! - I thought I was gonna die for sure. Even just dealing with the drafts of the serialization, there are other jobs that come in and the movie filled all of that up to the point where I was just thinking about it day in and day out. It even opened up a few gaps in the serialization and there wasn’t much left of me after the whole thing. That’s why I made a declaration to the movie staff that nothing like this would ever happen again. In exchange for that, I made absolutely sure this film will be a smash. I told them that’s the only thing they can expect me to be responsible for. I guarantee the excitement of this film.
! - It’s been 12 years since the serialization began and in that sizeable chunk of time, the tension has never once let up, it’s only gotten increasingly more exciting. Is there some trick to how you keep your readers thirsty for more?
! - I don’t think there’s any trick to it. If you’ve got a serialization that runs a good number of years, then your readers are going to become adults and there was actually a time when I worried that they might drift away. But then on the other hand, when I realized that means there are children being born too so if you don’t drift off target and aim straight then you just need to hold onto the reality that while you might lose some readers, they will always be replaced and that helped me come to terms with the situation. If you just believe in continuing to draw what you think is interesting, new readers will come and sometimes there are even cases where people who stopped reading for a while, will come back.
! - Why made you think about writing a pirate story from the start? Is there some work that influenced you to that end?
! - I don’t know if it was an influence as much as it was just a starting point but that would be the animated series ‘The Little Viking Bikke’. When I saw that, from that point on ‘adventure’ simply became synonymous with ‘pirates’ to me. Actually, I always wondered why people weren’t writing about pirates. I thought if I drew pirate stuff it would let me draw a grand adventure.
! - And oh how grand it is. You even had a ship fly through the air.
! - Anything’s possible. I set it up so that the impossible is the norm on Grand Line so I can do whatever I want. The weather is hazardous, the sea is rough, there aren’t many ways for people to come and go as they please, so it isn’t that strange if you’ve got these cultures independent of each other. For example, if I wanted to write about some kind of school drama story, all I’ve gotta do is draw a School Island. I can go about my own way as I please because of how I set it up so anything can happen.
! - Before you began serialization, did you have most of the plot decided?
! - Nope, I didn’t have much. Just the ending.
! - Huh? You know the ending? [Bad interviewer. Baaaaad. No biscuit!]
! - Yeah I know it. So however crazy I make it now, all I’ve gotta do is reach that point and if I do that, everything will be fine.
! - I don’t want to push too hard so I won’t ask anything beyond this but do you think it would be safe to consider the ending a long way off?
! - Since it’s already decided, there’s a part of me somewhere that wants to hurry up and draw the last image but in reality, I don’t think that will be for a long time. Because, I want to think about how I handle each of my characters appropriately, I don’t want to just throw away a pawn just to set up a checkmate, if I just think about writing in the moment, it’s bound to get long no matter what. Recently the crew has grown in number again and even when just one thing happens, I wind up wanting to draw all of their reactions so that takes even more time. But wanting to portray each individual character’s story like that that is something readers sympathize with me for so I just don’t want to overdo it. So when that happens no matter what I do it just ends up getting longer.
! - One Piece can really be a tear-jerker.
! - I didn’t think about myself as that kind of author. Mainly because I loved drawing action scenes. That’s something I realized about myself only after serialization began. That’s typical me.
- Have you ever been writing and started to cry yourself? [Bad interviewer! BAD! In the cage!]
! - Yes definitely. Other people’s work doesn’t make me cry, but my own work makes me fall apart. (laughs) Probably because I think so hard about it.
! - Now there are 56 volumes out and whenever I read it this always amazes me but with material so much material it’s remarkable how tightly woven the story is.
! - Yeah, I’m pretty good aren’t I. (laughs) Of course I handle it on a very minute scale but when I look back on some things, there are just some things that have worked out miraculously all by their own. But I don’t want to disappoint anyone so I don’t really talk about those things. (laughs) I think that’s even more impressive than the things I actually intended.
! - When you’re drawing are there any rules for yourself with respect to things you absolutely will not do?
! - I like to draw party scenes. So I don’t want to draw anything that would ruin that atmosphere. And this is a manga for boys so I won’t draw anything about relationships. I get a lot of letters from female readers asking me to cover some kind of relationship but if that’s what you want to read, go read a girl’s manga, that’s not my job. I don’t care if someone falls for Luffy, but it’s something that would be over before you know it. But knowing Luffy, I don’t think that kind of thing would be a problem. (laughs)
! - When you were 17 the short comic WANTED! Won 2nd Place in the Tezuka Awards but when did you first want to be a manga author? [BAD interviewer! Get in the basement! Git!]
! - It’s something I had already decided by the time I was four. My dad went to the company and worked and my mom stayed at home and did chores. I thought being an adult meant doing those kinds of things but at one point, I learned that there were people who could make a living drawing pictures and it seems that I actually said, “That’s what I wanna be.”
! - When you got the Tezuka award did you think you had already made the big time?
! - There was definitely a part of me that thought I could instantly go to the top. I took manga too lightly back then. Cause I was stupid. (laughs) I thought if I could get that far with just that kind of work, it would be smooth sailing, so I made the pilgrimage to Tokyo and from that moment, everything came crashing down. No matter how many sketches I handed in, none of them got approved. Back then I had way too much pride in my own work, to the point where I would read someone elses’ work all the while thinking that my own was more interesting. I was a real piece of work back then. But, thankfully, I came to realize how much strength I actually lacked and when you do that, you finally see how big the wall in front of you really is. To write an interesting 19 page comic in just one week, one after another, is not something humans are capable of. I now believe that people meant to be manga authors are born into it. And that was a shock. There were times that I fell face-down and wouldn’t be able to move of my own will for a week.
! - Did you ever think about giving up on becoming a manga author? [Good interviewer! Gooood boy!]
! - Yeah I did actually. It was only once, but I thought to myself, “Well, there’s still time for me to make it as a salary man.” But I was saved by the words of my editor at the time. The two of us were always fighting but one day he said to me, “In all my years, I’ve never seen a guy like you who works so hard but has nothing to show for it.” That brought on the tears. Just those few words put me at ease and I thought about going for it with everything again.
! - And so One Piece was born and its popularity spread like wildfire but did you ever think it would be this big?
! - Well of course I knew that if I drew pirate stuff it would be interesting but I never thought it would happen that fast. It instantly spread and flared up in popularity. But since many things in this world have a way of vanishing before you know it, it’s pretty scary when I think about it.
! - What kind of things about the serialization make you happy?
! - Yeah, that’d probably have to be whenever I make a good story. I’m a wreck when I can’t do my job well. I wind up moping if I don’t feel I’ve fully completed a good story. More than just being unable to stand myself, if I don’t think my prints for the previous week went well, I can’t rest until I make up for it the next week. Manga is something that if I fail at, the only way I can make up for it, is with manga. I’m weird that way. (laughs) No matter how busy my private life might get, if I can’t devote time to manga I’ll just end up being frustrated. That’s just who I am. I make it harder for myself.
! - So you’re a perfectionist.
! - Only towards the comic. I’m really trailing when it comes to my private life. Yet again, I’ve only been home once this year. I’m busy so there’s no choice there really.
! - How do you handle your family? [Gooood interviewer! Who wants a treat?]
! - They come to stay at the workplace once a week. I have two children and they’re adorable. (laughs) I want to spend more time with them and right now that’s really bugging me. As far as work is concerned that which is ‘cute’, is a nuisance. If it’s your friend or something, and you don’t see them because you’re busy it’s no big deal and they’ll understand but for my kids there’s just no way that applies.
! - By the way, what characters do your children like? [Good interviewer! Who’s a cutey?]
- They like Nami-chan. Nami-chan and Chopper. But basically it seems that they like ‘Pretty Cure’ better. And so it is that Pretty Cure is that which stokes the flames of rivalry in my heart. I wanna take Pretty Cure down. (laughs)
! - I think you probably hear this question a lot but what Devil’s Fruit would you like to eat? [BAD INTERVIEWER! WE’RE TAKING YOU TO SEE THE MAN IN THE WHITE COAT AGAIN!]
! - Purely as the dream of any man, I’d probably like to eat the Suke Suke Fruit. (laughs) But ultimately I’d probably want the Hana Hana Fruit. If I had lots of hands I could do my work much faster.
! - It’s a strange way of saying it, but you really love manga don’t you.
! - I like it and I also feel like, “Well I started this thing so…”, However, I believe that manga itself should always be ‘The Lord of Killing Time’ so I don’t want to cram any deep messages into it. I just write it as something that should be easy to enjoy, something you can read when you’ve got free time and at best, I’d be happy if it could help students make friends at the start of new semesters. Because that’s what can happen when lots of people read it. If everyone is reading the same manga, it doesn’t matter what school some kid came from, if you’ve got something to talk about in common, then it’s easy to make friends. Something that’s really mysterious about One Piece is that since women read it too, I’ve actually gotten fan letters that tell me mutual fandom has led to marriage. So I’m not really trying to say something about the world, I just think the reason I draw manga, or maybe you could say one of my roles in life, is to connect people.
! They are in special colors and bold, the question is underlined… That's the thing you are looking for.
! TheFallen
! > My apologies for posting this again. I just don't want this post to be buried in this forum so that the recipient gets a chance to read this
! Saw the old one, too lazy to go and find that one though, so I hope this has everything on it that you want to talk of…
! > Zoro always got lost, but he never failed to find his way
! I know, that's why I explained HOW Oda makes this happen…
! So, unless you can prove my explanation is false, which it isn't because it's just "FORESHADOWING" that leads towards that being true.
! Oda DOES it by his own force, not Zoro randomly heads off into the unknown and appears somewhere, Oda makes this consistent for a reason, so it should be looked at...
! If you don't know where that stuff is, I can either make one up for you or look for an old post... Tell me about it.
! > That is incorrect. They look at Boa Hancock's previous actions. For example. If luffy never asked Boa Hancock to agree to her summon, Boa would have refused and her island would've been on the attack list. If it wasnt for luffy….........you know.......
! Doesn't matter… If it wasn't for Luffy, it just shows that she's not SH material in the first place... And a lot of people say that is what stops Perona, but then they claim Hancock holds those values... HYPOCRITES, that's what they are.
! They basically don't do anything special and just rely on fandom to argue... It's not even one percent acceptable, yet they assume they are better. I've seen the extreme of Boa Hancock fandom, and I hated it... OMF is full of them, and I'm the biggest anti-Boa Hancock person on there... Yet, I'm basically able to get them to lose faith in their character... It's true, Boa Hancock shouldn't join.
! > You're missing luffys outstanding relationship with Boa Hancock. No one else comes close. Well, mabey Bon-Queer but untill the Manga shows that he lived and is out of prison, his chances would stay at 0
! You know why I don't see it important?
! It is because it DOESN'T MATTER… That's why. She could be his MOTHER or his WIFE and her chance to join would be ZERO if everything else is the same...
! Luffy can invite a freaking ZOMBIE, yet you assume that he has to follow Boa Hancock because of some "friendship" that's totally not serious, to him?
! Sorry, case closed. Brook joined without a name, no relationship, and then some... What's that say? Same with Chopper... It's pretty obvious that this "relationship" stuff isn't needed.
! What's needed is "compassion" and that's something that's hard to imagine in her, from the getgo.
! > Best example is in SA when zoro went the opposite direction and ended up with his crew
! He looked for help, he asked for directions, and he basically got lost and was shown asking for directions…
! So, my point stands true towards every situation... This "luck" argument is just you without the same "deep" analysis that I hold. I am explaining it in detail, you are basically scratching the surface.
! Think about this as an author and then try to make that connection, it's obviously fixed or else it wouldn't be connected... If it isn't consistent, then it's false.
! According to that, Oda is going to have some character help him, and from the known, it's bound to be Perona.
! The rest of the replies below this, they are pathetic... Seriously, use your head and compute the plot and take it from a literal approach, not the other way... It's so uneducated.
! > In my opinion, perona healed zoro to help her get off the island. She doesnt know that zoro is bad with directions. She wanted to get off the island and saw zoro as the answer
From her cry we can tell that she's still loyal to moria. "Waah~~!!. Where am I anyway, Moria-sama. I want to go back to thriller bark.
http://read.mangashare.com/One-Piece…4/page010.html
! Didn't I already explain that the quote is being misread by you?
! Here's it again: Moria-sama!! <–- has a grammatical punctuation added onto it, an informal one. The two of them express deep, deeper, and the deepest range of emotions/ tone of the shout. In this sense, she's "outcrying" because of her character and the fact that she's whining... So, according to that grammar, she's NOT in any sense actually showing DESIRE towards being with him, she's more likely saying "HELP!!?!?!" in a loud way, but due to her being on TB for the past ten years, she's basically only able to mention his name in agony.
! Second, she's only saying "I don't wanna be here!!" with that whole phrase, which you probably can tell... She's never said anything about going back to Moria, she just wants to literally "GTFO" of there...
! Yes, the first part is somewhat correct, but she's still going to feel lonely when you factor in the time, the only reason she wants to leave, it's because she's lonely. And for a good week or more... If she follows Zoro, she'll be back to square one, and forced to pick between Zoro again or some random on her own thing...
! Obviously, she's a pushover and going to pick him and his crew... Cause they're strong and they basically are able to be "someone" she knows.
! > This speculation is based of speculation that zoro would need perona
! And you never proved it wrong…
! > Boa has betrayed the WG. When the word of her treason reaches sengoku she will be striped of her title.
! That's your opinion, she's not even remotely convicted or troubled… She's basically 100% a Shichibukai still and will be unless she does something totally direct.
! The rest of the stuff don't matter, it's baseless.
! Anyway, that's it for you... I feel like I've answered all of this already, meh... Oh well...
! Vaayu
! > Time/Situation has nothing to do with anything. Baseless.
! Time they arrive to SA is important, if they arrive a little after the war ends, chances are that she's not heading there where the war is over… If they arrive at a different time, we can be sure that things will be different..
! It's been a week, since that Zoro landed there.
! > She can't find him? A Shichibukai? Whom she spent a lot and lot of time with? Baseless again.
The only valid argument I can see there is Moria being actually dead. But that is impossible, we all know that.
! She's been stolic on one island for like ten years, she's not going to know where he would be and she's probably never gonna see him again.
Wow… I'm tired already, might deal with the rest of this tomorrow...
! > Papers are just one source as I said. Why won't Luffy himself tell her?
! Why would he?
! > Meh, I know for a fact that you can't argue this point, no matter how hard you try. Its a major plot hole. The precise reason why I rate Perona's chances as a big ZERO.
! I did: time of arrival. Depending on the time that they arrive to SA, the war may have been weeks ago, or seconds ago. Weeks is different from seconds. And therefore, the whole thing changes…
! So, you have wait for this since the only way to know is by future events, but the point isn't against me since it doesn't matter...
! Done with you... Wasn't even that long...
! SMUDGE:
! > Why would she be at that level of confusion, when she stated to Kuma the settings she wished to reside in. The only thing she had shown any displeasure at it the lack of toys waiting on her every whim.
! She said so herself… And that's that.
! > It focuses on negativity and amplifies it. But if you didn't have any negativity then you would remain unaffected. Similar to Usopp though he remained unchanged because he was already in a negative state of mind.
If Zoro truly mastered his swords, and released his past memories of Kuini then he himself may become one, thus gaining a positive disposition.
Though this is just a text book example seen in similar forms in many famous manga & anime.
! That "negativity" isn't the same as "this" negativity… Do you know the difference? She's based upon things that basically are low-esteem, not that stuff that you take her for.
! Those are assumptions, and I do understand what you're talking about, but it's nonessential and Oda won't do it... It's SHONEN.
! > Oda's purposely not writing the full mini adventures in black and white to keep suspense, speculation and intrigue. This should be apparent by the cut-off point for each character.
! Yes, but the others are already defined, Zoro's screwed to fail and Perona's doomed to be of help for him to return…
! > Translate this in to something remotely coherent and I might consider responding to it.
! She's in AP form with a parasol on her… Meaning, she made the object turn that way too unless she's able to "touch" things in AP form... She's not, so that means she can create objects into AP form as well.
! Get it yet?
! > Your an idiot to think she isn't there for some beneficial use in Zoro's strength increase.
Why would Oda change the trend?
! There was never a trend, genius… It's just people being spent somewhere and forced to return.
! This isn't some super training stretch, they are basically trying to return to SA... If they get stronger through the weeks, then that's fine by them.
! Oda won't give them access to a "power-up" automatically, cause this shit ain't bleach and there's no cut-off to some specified time they need to master HAKI or something.
! I'm not an idiot, it's not even possible with her DF being defined as it was, reference it if you want, but at the very moment, the negativity is just self-esteem.
! > Why would Kuma send him to this island with the intention just to have Perona lead him back to the crew. She will aid Zoro in improving his abilities one way or another. Then he'll leave….the end.
! How would Kuma know what she was able to do?
How on earth does this even make sense?
! Sure, the ISLAND can have some obstacle to train him, but Perona can't help him when he never even met Zoro prior to her being sent out… So, what's up with Kuma? He is a legend or something? Super smart?
! Or, you have no basis at all... She's not supposed to help make him strong, she's most able to help him return to the island... She could have even killed him, but Kuma knew better, right? Afterall, he knew exactly where to send him 3 days from when he did so Perona would be able to find him...
! Seriously? You sound like a troll with this crap.
! > Quite possible the worst use and set-up of a character. Oda wouldn't waste all the page space required knowing he'll gain nothing in return.
! Good for your bias opinion, but the things she can provide in the future are beyond measurable… Probably, he wants her to HEAD forward with Zoro so that she can join...
! Obviously, she's not training him.
! > Zoro improves, Perona stops being a childish teen and finds a purpose. Then they both go their separate ways…...Simple.
! Once again, it's basically rejecting the whole "build-up" that Perona had when she was zapped there… She's not getting her problems solved, and Zoro isn't even able to return back until he finds someone to help.
! You need to consider characters... Think of a better reply than dismissing it, please.
! > I've already covered this. But I'll reiterate and say that they all covered the majority (80% plus) of requirements set by Oda.
They all followed the trend, almost to a T. Perona doesn't even come close to one of the aforementioned requirements. Which equates to her chances of joining being totally non-existent.
! If you can't tell, that trend failed the moment you tried to place it towards the situation… So, once again, you fail at using a failed trend as proof against Perona.
! When you get one that works for EVERY character, and explains the random invites, then come apply it towards Perona and try claiming it fails.
! Otherwise, you aren't using a trend, cause it's not even defined as a trend… Reference a dictionary, if you can't grasp the point.
! > READ MY FUCKING POST YOU MORON!
Robin had only a slight deviation from the trend set by Oda, but made up for it with huge levels of ties and foreshadowing throughout the entire Arabasta arc.
She doesn't have the ties nor the set-up to put Luffy in the same position as before as seen with Robin.
Why can't you accept this blindingly obvious fact?
! I read it, and I told you again, the trend failed… If Robin had a "complete" deviation, then so too can Perona... You should consider this, or base it upon genders, or something that is "COHERENT" cause this is lame and worthless... It's totally INCOHERENT.
! > Oda mysteriously giving Luffy the sheer luck of picking people that are not only needed but are experts in each of their fields.
! Yes, sir. That's what is going on… Glad you learned how to read into the manga for once...
! > Brook always had an ambition, which didn't change before or after he joined the crew.
! He wasn't REVEALED to have one until after he joined… Which is the first time they met him and at the end of the chapter.
! > That was just a gag scene created by Oda to show the shock/awe and repercussions of Luffy being in such an entertaining place.
I can't believe you even considered mentioning this gag moment, let alone treat as evidence in your migraine inducing cause.
! It's not for you to dismiss it as a gag… Cause that shit is there for you to take... Regardless, it's as fact as Oda making Brook able to join without any of your trend crap...
! Rework your failed trend and then come talk to me...
! > A. Gag moments don't apply to the serious structure set by Oda.
B. You don't understand what or how to apply the word loophole.
C. Nor do you appear to have a grasp on what the term 'Fact' means
! That's called an excuse and that means you FAIL… Try again when you include this...
! > Did you have a point to make, apart from the fact that you can't find any trends, symmetry or similarities in crew joining?
! Yes, there aren't any except these two:
! * Meet Luffy.
! That's about as general and correct you can make it be…
! > Conclusion: **You've completely deluded yourself with these metaphysical fantasy's regarding Perona, and overlook common logic in a quest to justify her remaining a possible crew candidate.
Not only this, but the majority of your post just reiterated the same points you've made before without considering any of the counter arguments I made.
Which all boils down to it being fruitless continuing this argument as you will respond the same material you've used the last 20+ pages. And when I say material, I mean more of a shitty compilation of fanfic styled text.**
! you've ignored everything… Oh well, when you get a working trend, come talk to me...
! Urouge, I'll do it tomorrow or something and I removed the repost of the whole argument for Tupac's Ghost…
! Probably will do them in the morning or something... I apologize for the tentative wait...
! EDIT: Tupac Ghost, here's all your answers:
!
! The topic is about this quote:

! That's the question, the question is in RED…
! Oda's reply is in BLUE…
! In reference to the question about Usopp, Oda replies that Usopp is closest to a "human" and everyone else is "superhuman"...
! He doesn't state physical meaning, for he has the applicable option of meaning both mental, physical, and various other definitions known to man.
! Moving on to the rest of the quote:

! The RED stuff isn't even important… So, you don't have to care for it...
! The BLUE is what the whole conversation is about… One such as yourself should be able to understand it... "He always wants Usopp to be the weakest..." is one of them, and the other is about Chopper's lies.
! Of course, the whole entire sentence can be read many ways, especially since it is vague... But, the context of it applies towards this whole "human vs. superhuman" dilemma that Oda sparked.
! So, let's reference them, for our purposes:
Superhuman
Human
! Obviously, the both of us were wrong as we were totally off-topic by stating "strength as a means of judgment towards his context. It isn't stated in that whole quote, so we shouldn't have done that… Even though I was aware of that, I just replied to continue the worthless argument anyway...
! Anyhow, the point is that Usopp will remain "closer" to Human, which you can pick anything in that whole thing... So, it means that Usopp is more human than every other character in the crew. That is the fact that we can claim it to be, everything else beyond that is an automatic assumption.
! So, if you wish to go on, please tell me…
! I need to find the original one, since it had more detail towards it a BIG LIST of all the characters that basically didn't do this… Can't recall which post it was though.

! Another one: http://apforums.net/showpost.php?p=1469515&postcount=8999
! I reckon there are others, but the post system on there is hard to find.
! All I got left is Urouge, and that's a boring page or two…_
