I'm sorry what does that have to do with anything, this guy's opinion is as valid as anyone else's.
How can you say with absolute certain what piece of music fits in a 'Shounen' anime and what don't. Does, Dvorak's Symphony No 9, fit in a 'Shounen' anime?
No, why would classical music fit in a children's tv show, that's ridiculous.
Fair enough if you don't like the new opening, but you are also not the final authority on anime music.
And when you start saying someones opinion isn't valid because they live in Washington and have not seen every anime on the planet, my bullshit detector starts going haywire.
This post is so funny I burst out laughing and my coworkers asked what was wrong and I explained that I read a post by dan2026 and they all cracked up because that's what all Japanese people do when they hear that dan2026 wrote a post because all Japanese people have all read so many of dan2026's posts and they know him so well and have grown up knowing him, being surrounded by him and absorbing his culture from their vantage point in the middle of the mountains in Japan so they are the ultimate authority on all things dan2026.
When they say dan2026 made a dumb post, that is the final verdict despite what others might say.
Similar to an individual from a foreign country that has seen a sliver of televised animation from Japan stating that because they've seen a few shonen anime with poppy childish openings, that means this is perfectly normal.
I suggest you reconfigure your bullshit detector and recalibrate your reading comprehension receptors.
Liking or not liking the opening has nothing to do with my snipe. I am the champion of Opinion's Suffrage. However, when people from foreign countries start saying that this opening is fine because 'so many others' have poppy openings of this nature, I'm hard-pressed to come up with more than a few.
The very fact that adults are listening to the song and enjoying shows you don't understand what genre this fits into.
THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT.
You're from a different culture. You interpret it as pleasing.
That's cool.
Some people eat dogs.
I'm not down with it, but that's their culture.
Just because this song is childish pop-junk in one country, doesn't mean you will or even have to interpret it that way.
However, to start making assumptions like it's 'normal' because other animated programs have had similar openings, I have to wonder exactly WHAT genre those openings were and what genre the animation was because I haven't seen something this mismatched since RK and that's not just me.
To put it bluntly, even if you've seen 200 or 1000 different animated works, if you don't understand the nuances in the melody, the lyrics, how the song was constructed/sold and the names attached to it, all you're really hearing is a pleasing melody. You don't have experience and thus, ignorance becomes bliss.
Nothing wrong with that. It's nice that people would enjoy the song just for a melody, and if you do, that's awesome. In some ways I imagine that some of those of us that do understand it are envious.
