@mooseisrichie:
No, Zik, Luffy was not unconcscious when they woke him up and told him to try to help and he responded to the degree of "I don't feel like it." Go read the manga. And while the duration of being chained may not make you weaker, I'm sure that if you have those feelings of despair for a longer period of time they begin to ingrain themselves in you. Go read a psychology book.
Wait, wait, wait. You're talking about when Luffy was in the water unconscious at Arlong Park right? Then Nami's sister and the other guy stretched his head above water and performed CPR and he became conscious again right? I hope you remember your question:
was Luffy a pussy when he was under water in his battle against Arlong and didn't struggle while the town leader and Nojiko were trying to save him?
Why would Luffy struggle while they were trying to save him and he was unconscious at that point?
After he got up he was no longer under the effects of sea water.
You're going to have to link me to where Luffy was just saved from dying and when asked to go fight Arlong he said anything to the effects of "I don't feel like it" when he was already fighting Arlong before that.
I didn't use hyperbole. Go read an English book, and I did read what you said, and, again, do you honestly think Sengoku is just going to watch him skip off? No. It would be pointless for Ace to up and run, he wouldn't make it anywhere, would waste energy, and get hurt even more. Go read a book on logic.
So because it's pointless Ace shouldn't try anything? He should sit there watching everyone die without any attempt to help himself get out of the situation? Sengoku is stronger than him so why bother right? coughpussycough
Yea, garp is at the foot of the tower, so if, according to you, Ace jumped off, he'd probably get punched in the face. And don't say "oh ace wouldn't do anything to garp hurr durr," he's had plenty of chances to save him or let him escape etc. Not like Sengoku would let him get up anyways, and not like it's easy for him to get up. Again, get into Ace's position and try to get up without the use of your hands. it's not very easy, and then factor in that you haven't been getting the shit beat out of you for a good week, are malnourished, etc. Go read an anatomy book
So what if he got punched in the face by Garp? so what if it'd be hard to get up? Are those little obstacles worth giving up on living? Leave it all to the others to save you while you wait and more of your friends die?
I didn't say Ace should defy physics and logic and race over to his daddy. I said he should try to do something to help his friends. He should try to escape. He should risk a beating from Sengoku or Garp if it means he can trouble them enough that they'd have their eye off WB or anyone else coming to save him. HE SHOULD BE DOING ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING IN ORDER TO LIVE.
You know Robin would already be long gone if she didn't struggle while the SHs were trying to save her.
No, saying "Ace is a pussy" is character bashing, not just an opinion. Saying, Ace should be doing this this this and I don't think he's reacting in the right way would be an opinion. Go read the rules.
No I said Ace is pussy and gave a reason. go read my post it definitely didn't just consist of "Ace is pussy"
@tigerlilly:
But his arms are

So, even if he wanted to run, his arms are firmly shackled to the platform, which makes this whole "Ace is a pussy" discussion obsolete.
Thanks I long admitted I didn't know precisely how he was chained up or if his feet were so yes the argument is obsolete.
Funny nobody else bothered.
