Heh, I never noticed the Zoro–>Zolo change in the eyecatch. shudders Now I'm gonna see it, and it's gonna make me twitch. Thanks. :getlost:
So, I suppose I'm in the "I don't care" camp as well? I don't get involved enough in anime fandom to really notice bitching, so I guess I'm good to go.
@Demon:
Not to mention I've yet to see a single mistranslated line of dialog
Whoa, wait a sec. Have you seen Funi's translation of the eighth movie? There was most definitely a translation error in their subtitles.
When Luffy confronts Crocodile for the first time (shortly after meeting Kohza's dad in Yuba) he says something that Funi translates as:
"I'll never loose to the sands of Yuba!"
When in fact, he's really saying,
"Yuba will never lose to your damn sand!"
Now, I'm paraphrasing, but you get the general idea. If you really want, I'll pull out my BluRay and get Funi's exact line and exactly what Luffy says in Japanese. Heck, Funi's translation doesn't even make sense if you know the plot line!
That's the only translation error I can think of, and it's probably nothing compared to what some fansub groups have done (like, K-F creating the idea of a physical "pirates' summit," an actual meeting, due to a mistranslation). But, Funi does make mistakes, too. It elicited a "Heh, dorks" reaction from me rather than bitching, though. I still buy their dvds and watch their simulcast.
