In the trailer, Sanji sure looks mad when concerning nami.
What? For real? Sanji got mad over someone messing with Nami?

I wonder if Funi will get this to us fast enough when they get the rights.
What? For real? Sanji got mad over someone messing with Nami?
apparently so. remember how mad he got when he found out that absalom ate the suke-suke fruit and used it to peep at nami.

You're not used to sarcasm, are you?
just look at the trailer. sanji kicks the monster while yelling nami-swan!
woah awesome!!! I'm sooo hyped!!
But then again, trailer usually differ from the actuall movie. Hope this one didn't let us down that much.
Btw, apparently Nami is really kidnaped. And I sensed lots and lots of L/N hints in this movie to my content :grins:
Anyway, the anime movie special should be played this week isn't it? Can't wait to see what's the prolouge is ^^
just look at the trailer. sanji kicks the monster while yelling nami-swan!
Big whoop, I'm sure we'll be getting many similar lines from many a character given the plot, like Luffy's ''What the hell did you do to her?!'' for starters.
just look at the trailer. sanji kicks the monster while yelling nami-swan!
However says that this line is what he really says in that scene. This is a movie trailer. Placing statements in a totally different scene then in the final product is a technique used all the time.
The tiger ate all his squid sauce.
It's a damn shame they're making him shout Nami-swan when his intentions are obviously about his famous sauce being eaten.
This is a horrible dubbing by Toei - I'm vastly disappointed.
Sanji always yell NAMI SWAN!!!
I wanna hear he yell ZORO-SAAAANNN!!!!
No, it'll be ZORO CHWAAANNN!
And you'll have to wait till after the crew are reunified for Sanji to express his true feelings to Zoro.
I was thinking ZOOROO~KWUUUUUUUN~~!!! but I guess -chan works too…
As long as there's a W in there and lots of arm waving and flapping about, I'm good.
LOL. That will be so funny if that happen. Maybe that will happen since sanji live on an island full of okama's.
I really can't wait for this, now. It'll be awesome, and what with the anime's specials, and the aptly named 'Volume Zero' that audience-goers will receive with the movie.
With G Roger & G Lion - This'll be pretty damn awesome !!
I was thinking ZOOROO~KWUUUUUUUN~~!!! but I guess -chan works too…
your dream will never come true, brickhead
BESIDES, DUMMY, THERE'S NO WU IN KATAKANA
Is the main villain the same flying pirate who escaped from impel down in the manga? If it is, is this movie canon?
Yes it is and probably not.
Fellow Arlong-Parkers, I just encountered a serious problem and maybe some of you can help me. When I saw the teaser for this movie some time ago I was really excited. After I saw the trailer even more so! The only thing that bothered me was Luffy using some sort of gun-like weapon. And now after watching the subbed version the gun-part is the least thing that bothers me and all this “hype” has vanished… and I really want to get it back. OK, I will just utter my thoughts directly and please go fiercely against everything I say, because I really want to look forward to this movie again!
The first thing that created a little distaste was the scene of Shiki (I suppose it is he) taking Nami away. This whole “got your navigator”-thing somehow reminded me of Arlong, but OK, the trailer continues. Then there came this “everything is for a “nakama” – we will rescue her”- topos. Do not get me wrong, I love Piece for having this motif as one its main topoi, maybe it is even the most important one. But we just had this whole topos during the long “Rescue Robin”- arc. It was beautifully constructed and ingeniously developed but it also saturated my “need” for this openly “one gets taken away, we WILL get him/her back”-scenario for some time to come. And now in a movie... condensed into two hours of film, how should it be possible that this will not be a pale caricature of this motif? (And no, sadly, comparing the current situation with Ace is not helping me either, since the Ace-scenario is different with Ace not being one of the SH, Ace being Luffy's brother and Luffy being only one player in a much larger conflict. Ergo, for me: no repetition of this scenario.)
But it goes on, then there is this whole “Don't think you can do whatever you want”- part and for me it was like Enel all over again... Oh dammit. why did I watch the subbed trailer...
And then there are other things that bother me, for example that this movie seems to be "more" canon than the other ones, which should be a great thing. But honestly, Luffy against a legendary pirate? Someone who fought Gold Roger? How the heck can the SHs have a chance against someone like that when they were barely able to take out a Pacifista? The only way I can see this thing happen is that it takes place in the future (in relation to the current time period the manga/anime is in) or Luffy being able to beat Shiki with some kind of “natural” advantage, but then it will be the Enel-scenario all over again... Please movie, let Usopp, Brook and Franky be the ones to take down Shiki...
And did I understand correctly? Nami asks Shiki to become a member of his crew? I hope I am wrong on this one... Please, no “I will sacrifice myself for the others”...
Seriously I have no idea why this subbed trailer resonated so negatively with me...
So please, guys, help me to get this feeling of looking forward to it somehow back. Even if You just write: Chill dude, it is just the trailer, wait for the actual movie. Maybe if I see this sentence often enough... But then again, the trailer is supposed to create hype, right?...
The last movies were “retellings” of former arcs and they were criticised by some for that, but now I fear that this movie will be just a jumble of One Piece motifs.
The only thing that bothered me was Luffy using some sort of gun-like weapon.
Here's what's wrong with you.
Because that's the most awesome part of the trailer.
@GuessWhat:
The first thing that created a little distaste was the scene of Shiki (I suppose it is he) taking Nami away. This whole “got your navigator”-thing somehow reminded me of Arlong, but OK, the trailer continues.
Which happened … oh, WAY BACK in the Arlong Park Arc. While Nami's been spirited away since then it wasn't over being a navigator. In fact, we don't know WHY Shiki took Nami at all. No jumping to conclusions.
@GuessWhat:
Then there came this “everything is for a “nakama” – we will rescue her”- topos. Do not get me wrong, I love Piece for having this motif as one its main topoi, maybe it is even the most important one.
Oh, look. A One Piece theme.
@GuessWhat:
But we just had this whole topos during the long “Rescue Robin”- arc. It was beautifully constructed and ingeniously developed but it also saturated my “need” for this openly “one gets taken away, we WILL get him/her back”-scenario for some time to come. Because Oda is writing it, and it isn't three+ years of Enies Lobby?
@GuessWhat:
(And no, sadly, comparing the current situation with Ace is not helping me either, since the Ace-scenario is different with Ace not being one of the SH, Ace being Luffy's brother and Luffy being only one player in a much larger conflict. Ergo, for me: no repetition of this scenario.)
It's the EXACT same thing - brotherly bond or not.
@GuessWhat:
Yes, because Shiki fought Goldie and then WON. This is what happened. Absolutely.
Why the fuck do people think that's what went down? Or that they were even equal in strength? Or that Shiki fought Gold Roger when he was the Pirate King and not some time before he ever gained the title? LOGIC, IT CANNOT BE FOUND.
@GuessWhat:
Please movie, let Usopp, Brook and Franky be the ones to take down Shiki…
Er, no.
@GuessWhat:
And did I understand correctly? Nami asks Shiki to become a member of his crew? I hope I am wrong on this one… Please, no “I will sacrifice myself for the others”...
Now, you're just forcing what you THINKS gonna happen onto it.
@GuessWhat:
The last movies were “retellings” of former arcs and they were criticised by some for that, but now I fear that this movie will be just a jumble of One Piece motifs.
A One Piece movie with One Piece motifs.
Fancy that.
But honestly, Luffy against a legendary pirate? Someone who fought Gold Roger? How the heck can the SHs have a chance against someone like that when they were barely able to take out a Pacifista?
Obviously, there's not much to Shiki without his special levitation mumbo jumbo.
Little does Guess What know, that the movie is canon and Nami will in fact be leaving the crew forever, and Sanji will be killed trying to save her, thus ending all similarity to the rescue Robin or rescue Ace arcs.
dirt monkey AL, Captain Hypersock, you are beyond great!
dirt monkey AL, You really showed me that I already blatantly forced my opinion onto the Nami-scenes and ignored that we do not have some filler authors here, but Oda himself! How the heck can I already know that Nami is maybe wanting to join Shiki of her own free will or something like that. (Just thinking about the possibilities makes me smile.) Oda will not serve some “old dish” and just “rewarm” it.
One thing that did not help me was the part about Gold Roger and Shiki. My thoughts were: Even if Shiki was a weakling and completely lost to Roger, he is not called “legendary” for nothing. Even if he got that “Epitheton ornans” years after the fight, he should still be a “real beast”. And then Captain Hypersock comes in and gives such a simple and yet so all-out comprehensive explanation!
I just realised one thing. I was ALREADY OVERhyped for this movie. I was in the mind-frame that this will be one of my favourite movies because Oda is pulling some mayor strings in there and it will not be a simple retelling of some past arc. This movie would be something utterly new! Therefore I was really disappointed seeing so many of these already used topics etc. But thanks to Your words my further reflections pushed me into a new frame of mind. I would lie saying that I am hyped for this movie, no, far from it. It is even better. I am in a neutral state and, just like with the new Star Trek film, ready to be blown away while watching the new OP movie one day. Thank You both so much!
EDIT: LOL @ robbybevard! ;)

Quoted for truth, this post owned. In unrelated news I'm still trying to look at your sig without it seeming dirty, don't think it's possible.
It's not, but you should keep staring.

My current theory is that he's trying to activate Gear 2nd from his crotch that or he's getting acquainted with lil Luffy.
Al is clearly excited for the movie.
@Thousand:

Aren't we all? Let's see if it lives up to its hype. (Which, if written by Oda, HAS to blow our minds.)

In other news, I got my tix. And I found the theater showing it. And they're advertising Vol.0.

you are Lucky. :)
This thing lets you download videos from Youtube and convert them to AVI, MP4 or whatever and then download it. I used to use this back in the day, so I'm pretty sure this works.
Those online sites suck. They always produce crappy video quality. The best way to download YouTube files onto your computer is to get a cracked version of a software product that lets you download HQ versions of YouTube vids.
Here's a downloadable version of the trailer, same quality as the original: http://www.mediafire.com/?nyygj3ztn3d
And in case it still hasn't been resolved, the person Chopper is carrying when he's running away from those monsters with Usopp is definitely Nami. See the orange hair:
!

and they lived happily ever after.
Tha End.
Anyways robin + glasses = win. And, if you round that out, you get hotwin.
also, in Al's sig Luffy's clearly making the "I'm having a baby" face.
…Is that Dragon's tattoo on the side of Luffy's face?
Don't kill me.
Shiki was shown having a tiger/lion like attack that resembles Eneru's ultimate form? thats the most exciting part about the trailer!
yeah. shiki was probably related or he was the one directly responsible for nami's past (before bellemere adopted her)..

It looks more like a shadow effect to me.
i found that at yahoo japan and i think it´s the little girl from the trailer.
the quality is bad, i know
Okay, all but officially confirmed that Shiki is the flying DF user.
His card for the Japanese card arcade game shows his attack as 'flying boulder'.
What more do we need? The man has sword legs. His nickname is the fucking 'Flying Pirate' and he has flying islands and a ship.
Which camp are you in?
Tobu Tobu?
Hira Hira?
Fuwa Fuwa?
What more do we need? The man has sword legs.
Really? I thought it was sword stilts. :blink:
Which camp are you in?
Tobu Tobu?
Hira Hira?
Fuwa Fuwa?
Would be easier to decide if I'd know what these terms mean. :getlost:
Really? I thought it was sword stilts.
Could very well be. Either way, the man obviously has awesome balance or another means of movement.
Would be easier to decide if I'd know what these terms mean.
Pretty much the same except the first is a verb. All flying or floating things. It's a total grab bag. If Oda wanted it to sound cutesy for someone so powerful (ie. Kuma) he could have gone with Fuwa Fuwa, or if he wanted it to just make sense he could have gone with Tobu Tobu.
JUMP also gave a tantalizing footnote about Vol. 0.
It's been confirmed that Vol. 0 WILL CONTAIN CHAPTER 0
However, the footnote claims, "…and additional material."
It was not specific as to whether that additional material was actual comic, or simply the promised sketches.
