It's hard for me to work out some good predictions going forward at this point. What I'm sure of is that Ace will not be rescued in ID, but at the execution platform at the HQ. Also, something legendary is going to happen to ID itself. It may be destroyed, but that somehow seems too simple for Oda. All the prisoners who've been named will definitely escape, along with thousands of others probably.
Will Shiryuu be an ally or an enemy in ID? I've liked the idea that he'll go head to head with Magellan, but that leaves quite a few big name pirates with nobody to fight. I doubt that pirates will pick a fight with each other when they have a chance to escape instead, but I could easily be mistaken. The demon guards are nice, but against a platoon of level 6 criminals they wont stand much chance. Luffy, Bon, Iva, Jimbei, Mr 3, Buggy, Mr 1, Croc, Catarina Devon, San Juan Wolf, Busco Shot, and whoever is entering ID from Kizaru's tour of SA will all need to escape. Mag, Shiryuu, Hannyabal, Sadi, Saldeth, and the 3 demon guards are all potential enemies, with Shiryuu and Hannyabal being potential allies at the same time.
The real showdown will happen at the HQ, so I don't expect a very grueling fight in ID anymore from Luffy's end, there's no time. If he does get into another serious fight in ID, it will likely be similar to his fight against Blueno, showing off his new power for the upcoming war.

About the 10 years lifespan cut. Though i have just a little knowledge in biology, but I know that body cells have "age"'. Youth is when cells are the most productive in regenerating, and then they keep regenerating less and less (thats why we grow weaker as we age). So by forcing Luffy's body cell regeneration into a rapid state, Iva reduced the cell's age. Techically, I think the process will make u look older, but this is manga.
I cant wait to see how that will play out. The explanation Iva gives him kind of states that out flat, that he is loosing 10 years of life he would live from this point, not from the end of his life span. That his immune system and organs will be healing and regeneration a 1500 times faster than normal (I am roughly guessing here, assuming a year = 365 days so 10 years = 3650 days divided by 2.5 days that the process should take). It kind of makes sense, a dose of poison big enough to kill you in a day would be less effective if it was spread across ten years or 3650 days of living. Since Luffy gets rid of the poison effect after 18 hours instead of expected 58 hours, that could mean he only lost 3-4 years, than again maybe all 10 years just faster than expected.
Aside from that, it is likely that after he eats to regain strength and all the blood he lost in the process, we will end up with an physically much older looking Luffy. Even if its only 3-4 years of aging then he will be in Zorro or Aces age range now, along with physically bigger and stronger body. If Luffy ends up looking the same, how will we be shown that he actually paid the 4 or 10 years of his life for this healing process?

DF respawn after the previous user dies. If it was done around Golden Lion's escape that would be 20 years ago. So the "tunneling" DF user was probably the previous owner of Merry Christmas's DF. The previous owner was probably more experienced with that DF which would explain why they could dig so well. Of course it's possible it's a drill type DF instead and not a Zoan DF. Guess we'll have to wait for movie 10 for more info. Also doesn't Golden Lion have a "flying" ability. So I would think the "tunneling" DF user was his accomplice and not Golden Lion.

I don't see the point of even bringing these "parallels" up since Zoro isn't anywhere near here and most likely Luffy or some lvl 6 prisoner is probably gonna have to fight Shiryuu.

Anyway a M. Bison based character would be cool. I wouldn't go much off of the look yet though. Oda has a few character with that type of face like that one vice admiral.

These two MF's are the most OG people to come out of One Piece in a while.
You have Shiryu who cuts bitches for fun and gets locked in his own jail as a penalty and is still a chief guard because he's that much of an asset. He's a sadistic motherfucker and seems to be a homage to M. Bison/Vega. Bad Ass.
And then we have warden Magellan. A constantly shitting poison user who sits on the toilet for 18 hours a day, but that's ok because when off the john he brings the pain. He looks like Satan and can sprout a poison Hydra from his back.

Closest thing was Kuro, who technically used 10 swords lol. I doubt Mr. 1, a lvl 4 prisoner is gonna fight the other chief warden of ID who's held in lvl 6.
As for how Luffy will beat Shiryu if he even fights him 1 on 1 or if he even has a real chance to win period it'll be because of haki sadly or gladly depending on the OP fan.

Luffy fought Zoro. He's fought against pointy objects such as spears, spikes, shark teeth, axes, rankyakus, and finger-claw-swords. I don't think swords are major issues, per se. Let's not forget that Luffy successfully evaded Magellan 100% before going Gear 2nd, Magellan got owned by Luffy's first hit in Gear 2nd, and was afterward not quite keeping up with Luffy outside his poison hydra's kamikaze attacks against Luffy. It's more like Luffy is unable to touch Magellan without, you know, dying due to poison. Take that factor away and Luffy very likely could have fought on even ground and/or defeated him. Unless M. Bison has a logia or similar paramecia/zoan ability, Luffy can physically hit him without major complications. That should make for a fairly balanced and believable fight, no?

Why do people keep bringing up swordsman as if its something Luffy has never encountered before. He fought evenly with Zoro at Whiskey Peak. His other fights eventually have him facing a bladed weapon eventually. Buggy used knives against him. Arlong had his teeth and used the Shark Teeth Sword against him. Kuro had bladed fingers. 10 of them to be exact. Don Krieg used spike bombs and his spear. Eneru had his trident. Crcodile had a hook and then a hidden dagger once the hook broke off. Lucci had the Ryankyu kicks. Bladed weapons aren't really some huge obstacle for Luffy. As long as Shiryuu doesn't have a broken DF Luffy should be fine.

The one big difference I see between Magellan an Shiryu is that Magellan is (as far as we know) a long range fighter. Luffy normally has advantages over long range fighters because he is one as well. His stretchy appendages allow for him to strike hard from far away which allots him many victories. Shiryu on the other hand is (from what I can tell, which is very little, but stick with me here) a close range fighter. If he lands a single hit on luffy, being the powerhouse that he is, it's game over. Luffy never fights the swordsman. That's the way it's always been. So9 someone is going to have to step up to help him out. People say, Mr. 1 isn't strong enough to take him on but you never know. Perhaps so, but that doesn't mean Luffy cannot fight Shiryuu. Luffy is – if anything -- a mid-ranged fighter. He's technically a close-ranged figher, but with his stretching abilities he can be -- and frequently is -- mid-ranged. I mean Kuro was more or less a sword user. Axe-hand Morgan and Krieg were certainly blade users. Luffy always just dodges or gets cut/stabbed a bit. Never stopped him. Remember, Luffy is a pimp, and that changes everything.

I agree with just about everything you said except for this one line. Luffy is too tough for anyone in the world to one shot him I think. His fight against Rob Lucchi is my reference for that.
That being said, Luffy doesn't have time to get beaten up in ID anymore, so it wont happen again.
Edit: I just want to add that just about all great close range fighters seem to have some long range capability (except sanji, ooh powerup?). Luffy stretches, Zoro has his cannon, any strong swordsman has shown the ability to create flying attacks recently really, and CP9 has their kick that I can't spell. It's too much of a weakness to be useless at a distance.

There may have been another. Most translators choose to leave haki untranslated, for good reason. My guess is that haki is a focused form of willpower.

Why do people think Luffy won't be able to beat Shiryuu? The main reason Luffy couldn't beat Magellan was because of the poison. Without that, I believe Luffy would have beaten Magellan. And since Shiryuu is as strong or stronger than Magellan but without the poison, I see Luffy beating him rather quickly.

Well sure Luffy could beat Magellan without poison pretty easily. He could also beat Zoro without swords prety easily. Shiryuu isn't as strong as Magellan without poison, he's as strong as Magellan with poison. True Shiryuu doesn't have poison himself, but he'll have something else that's nasty that will make him just as terrifying of an opponent.

Yeah I'm kind of confused about Shiyruu, obviously Oda wants to use him in the near future… but it doesn't seem like there really is anyone to fight him.
I know Luffy can fight him... but I thought Luffy's big battle was going to be Megellan... are we expecting Luffy to take both of them down one at a time?

My only conlcusion is that someone from level 6 will have to fight him... perhaps someone we haven't met yet, but will start playing a big role in the future as Luffy's new friend.. or potential SH crew?
I'm surprised Iva hasn't broken out of ID... Iva seems pretty damn strong to me... I don't think anybody will have a easy time of taking him on, He also needs to teach Duval how to wink!

Looks like a pointer from Oda: Magellan probably won't show anymore, Luffy or someone else will bump into Shiryu and defeat him easily. Just to show how strong the new contender is, or how much Luffy improved after the healing.

remember that we still haven't had an update on all those pirates captured on the shabondy islands. they may still play a role in all of this. maybe they are being detained in some facility close by impel down while they get processed? they may end up escaping when luffy and friends escape from jail and cause a bunch of damage outside of impel down. would be funny if all the supernovas are captured and they all get released by luffy.
