)Hentai doesn't necessarily imply fanservice, actually. Fanservice is distinctly rooted in the ecchi style that bled into shounen because of Go Nagai. Hentai has a uniqe plot structure, whereas fanservice can be just an accessory to a whole range of styles and approaches (including hentai).
In many ways fanservice is much worse, because it can get away with undermining social mores more subtlety than H-titles simply because it's not always a focus and has access to larger audiences.

So…. Is Kakashi OFFICIALLY dead now? He was shown in the flashbacks with Juraiya and the 4th. I mean, he's been obviously dead for a while, but Kishi hasn't come out and said it... so... is it official yet?
And also, the closeup of hinata's boobs was to sho her heart. or something.

Well…this chapter was actually good. Very good. It has all the requirements of a good finale for an epic shonen fight.
-The characters use their techs in creative ways. Naruto uses his clones just a little differently. Yes, holding himself up with them counts for me. It's a matter of style over substance. Meanwhile, Pain blows up something. Always nice, and the art for that scene seemed...good? I'll have to check that again. But anyway, Naruto fought skillfully beginning to end (of this chapter). That's pretty great.
-The hero endures. In a manga that constantly throws big attacks that ultimately never hit the target, Naruto takes/counters Pain's attack and keeps fighting in spite of it.
-Cool effects. In this case, the 5 second countdown in this fight. Hey, it worked.
-Content. This felt like a fairly eventful and filling chapter. I dunno...I might need to go back and read that.
-The proving of one's resolve. Mainly Pain's whole "answer the question thing." In cliche shonen sense, Naruto wins as he finds his answer. Yeah, saying "I'm not gonna give up" might not feel like an answer, but it brings up a good point. Pain's actions, though somewhat logical, are clearly those of a man who isn't considering other options in spite of the murder and....pathos they cause. In a battle of right and wrong, for a man with the resources and ability of Pain use tunnel vision like that is just unacceptable. Naruto wins the argument not because he's right, but because Pain is just wrong.
-The final blow. Yeah, it might seem like a common rasengan, but this came after Naruto withstood an attack. Standing up to the enemy, going forward, and knocking down your opponent is just...classic shonen cool. Well done.
Of course, this is Naruto so none of this counts.

Yep, this was another good chapter. Kishi continues to keep the ball rolling. Good to see that Hinata is getting medical attention and, in addition to Naruto, I wonder how Sakura is going to react to this whole confession thing. Anyway, could've done without the "Don't get in Naruto's way" thing. Yeah okay Katsuyu we get it, you stupid f*cking slug.
As for the battle, if this was in fact the climactic the end then I must say it was done very well. Loved the use of the 5 second countdown. We also get an epic blast, good use of shadow clones, Naruto showing some manly endurance and Pain sure as hell didn't go down easy. I really do hope this is the end of the battle though, I'd like to move on with the story.

Heh, I felt the exact opposite. Naruto now is just so… dry. It just feels like it's going through the motions of telling a story without any of the passion. The Pain fight has long overstayed it's welcome, the Hinata stuff is just making the fandom even more unbearable, and you have all of this dangling plot threads (Danzo, the group looking for Nagato, Yamato and gang, etc.) that aren't going anywhere and will probably end very anti-climatically (I hope I'm wrong though). Once this fight is over and we can get to the characters I think things will pick up and become more interesting.

am i the only one who thinks it's weird when the puni fucking rasengan, which has proven that it never ever was that harmfull or good of a technique, is now supposedly ending the fight with the biggest boss so far in naruto!? that seems totally ridiculous to me!
…but i guess it'll work now that naruto said "it's the original technique jiraya tought me"... of course it does, hell let's just skip all logic fuck-a-didle-doo.

Wow if Pain gets done in by a ordinary Rasengan. I know it's supposed to symbolizing Naruto getting revenge by using the move Jairaiya taught him but seriously. That shit only mattered in part 1. At least use a Oodama Rasengan or better yet a Fuuton Rasengan. He can do either of those and doesn't need SM. Kishi always seems to find a way to get a wtf climax to a fight.

LOL so many haters here today… anyway, move's like that is always super in shounen manga, gets all punped up. I can only hope Pain goes down with that move what is sure Naruto's coolest looking technique. Simple but that power, its cool. Nice chapter indeed.

I know that this probably is a lot like other fights, but I liked this chapter. After using everything that he learned from the paths of Jiraiya, the 4th and Kakashi, Naruto used essentially a combo of their moves (and his own) to take Pain down. Now, hopefully, the fight is over and we can get back to the story.
BTW: I think Tenten got as good a view of Hinata's "assets" as Sakura…no wonder she didn't speak this chapter.

YE YE .. that's the worst along the fight.. that noone could help him, not even rock lee who was the only one to fight in equal terms with gaara, kimmimaru and gai who can fight any akatsuki as easily as kakashi not to say more efficiently with the gates open.
An even weaken pain was no much for gai or lee even with open gates, while naruto who has changes 10 different chakras, has tried to land a hit on him 100 times and is so exhausted is able to win with a common attack as rasengan.(compared to his new abilities and powers. rasengan atm may even be weaker than kage bushin no jutsu.) -
Couldn't that slug have said that "they're too far away to arrive in time to help Naruto" or something? Cause this "You'd be in his way" is annoying the f*ck out of me. First, Naruto was there just being watched by an entire village of freaking elite warriorswho weren't allowed to help because they'd have been a hindrance, and now another powerful team consisting of two freaking Jo-nin, Lee, and a girl that (despite getting to do nothing in the series) would have been the best match for Pain to counter his five-second-interval with her weapons, aren't allowed to go.
Apart from that, I enjoyed the last few chapters. I think that it was someting that Kishi had originally planned. That would be the only thing to explain why they were so good in contrast to the rest of part 2.

Kishimoto just needs to come up with some bullshit ending….like how about this? the nine tailed fox breaks right through naruto's chest despite everything that happens and goes "Plot jutsu" than a view of the naruto earth from space is shown and poof it's gone with the letters: SORRY FOR WASTING ALL OF YOUR TIME and below that in the smallest print: the end.

Thats really innovative, really. He disuised the shadow clones as something different, brilliant.Thats so cool. I mean i have never seen him doing this before, never ever he used disguised shadow clones to bring a rasengan attack.Kishi! Kishi!

And Hinata and the old frog live. What a relief, the short death scene of Hinata was horrible. I mean a few people could think it would be meaningful if she was dead. But who cares about a good story if you can please the fans.
Still this Manga feels akward withou Sasuke using his sharingan.
I mean that would be very creative if Sasuke would use his sharingan to create a illusion and we all think what happening is real, just think about it.We see a fight and when we all think Sasuke is dead, he is just using an illusion. That would be so cool.And all those other characters. Who needs them? Choji,Shikamaru,Lee,Tenten,Neji.
They would only disturb the nice flow of shadow clon, Rasengan and Sharingan attacks. Kishi should really remove them.Yeah was a real nice chapter.

It's actually a little clever since, one, Pain is weakened at this point and, two, if Naruto used a stronger rasengan then Pain's body would be completely destroyed. I'm guessing, based on the color page, Kishi might do something with Yahiko despite being possess...and dead I guess...thanks to Nagato.
It's like this. The Ulitmate Rasengan is like a nuke, the normal rasengan is like a shotgun. Getting hit by either kills you, but one kills you a lot harder then the other.
Not that there's anything wrong with the rest of your anger at this chapter. I'm just saying...the normal rasengan is enough.

The rasengan has fallen victim to Kamehameha syndrome and has gotten stale. Even though it's powerful technique, it's been used so much that we depreciate it whenever we see it.

Well, with the Kame Hame Ha…I don't think it ever defeated a big opponent. Piccolo was being with a punch, Junior was beaten with a headbutt, Raditz with the Makankô-sappô, Vegeta got sat on by a big monkey, Freeza just chopped then blasted to pieces, and Cell...well, actually for Cell he DID get destroyed by a Kame Hame Ha. Not Boo, though. He got done in by the Genki Dama.

I think it's a little anti-climactic that he used a rasengan. But whatever… i haven't really had much expectations for this series as of late, which makes it more enjoyable to read. I liked this section of the fight the most (Pain repelling all those shadow clones was cool and reminded me of The Matrix).
And Naruto disguising his many clones as rocks was pretty refreshing (what with all the DBZ shit happening as of late). It helps remind me what series i'm reading. (one about ninjas or whatever)
