Just noticed Ornstein from your avatar and had to immediatly check this thread out.
 Holy shit. What are the chances of Smough following in the future?
Great work! And man do I enjoy the work in progress. Did you use some screenshots to orientate yourself? Or original concept art?
CCC's Sculpts

Ridiculous, especially the face. How long does it take to craft a figure like that?

And screenshots, yeah (concept art is kind of fuzzy on the details). Mostly this: http://static1.nexusmods.com/15/mods/162/images/12-1-1347991700.jpgRidiculous, especially the face. How long does it take to craft a figure like that?
This guy took about three days of work… maybe 20 hours total?
-
Oh my, what magnificent sculpting skills! You're quite meticulous. :)
This work deserves standing ovation…

you are inhuman

Oh my, what magnificent sculpting skills! You're quite meticulous. :)
Thank you both :)
I've got two this time around; both are indy game heroes…
First is the boy from Limbo. Super simple for the most part, except that the hair gave me trouble for a while (translating the 2D ultra flat sprite into 3D).
He's just 4 inches tall.@krule274:
That's outstanding, keep up the great work. Can't wait to see more La Mulana sculpts!
Well…
This is Kosugi Lemeza, the protagonist of La Mulana and (probably) the father of the protagonist of the upcoming sequel.
I've been wanting to do Lemeza for a while, but I had a really hard time deciding on the style and design. Then I came upon Jasmine Cote's momolana blog ( http://la-momolana.livejournal.com/ ) and this picture in particular ( http://www.diygamer.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/8836day54.png ) and I knew I'd found my answer. Just cartoony enough, without being a complete caricature.
Except I would adorn Lemeza with as many items/weapons/accessories as I could possibly load on to him (a la his paper doll in the game: http://static3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120919195205/lamulana-remake/images/5/58/Fullitemscreen.png ), because that's kind of the joke.
…So that's how this came about!Included in my version of Lemeza is
-Whip (in right hand)
-Axe
-Katana
-Key Sword (all three on back)
-Knife (in left hand)
-Shuriken
-Rolling Shuriken
-Chakram (interchangeable, in pouch on belt)
-Caltrops (on floor)
-Pistol (on right hip)
-Bomb (on belt near middle)
-Flare Gun (next to Bomb)
-Earth Spear (on left hip; see inset alternate view)
-Angel Shield (attached to left arm; see alternate view)
-MSX (in left hand)
-Ice Cape (fringe is visible under left arm)
-Isis Pendant
-Crucifix (hanging at chest)
-Hand Scanner (strapped to chest on left side)
-Ring (on right index finger)
-Glove (on left hand)
-Bracelet (on left wrist)
-Grapple Claw (on right hand)
-Gauntlet (on right forearm)
-Spaulder (on right shoulder)
-Hermes' Boots (on feet)
-Fairy Clothes (on torso)The MSX and knife can also be swapped out for a plate of curry rice w/spoon (see inset image)
Lemeza is 5 inches tall to the tip of his hat.
…And the writing on the tablet says "La Mulana" written in La Mulana text. -
DUDE, that Lemeza is insanely awesome! Limbo's protagonist is cool, too (I'd appreciate it a bit more if I had played more of the game), but dat Lameza!
Keep up the great work, CCC…
-
Hey CCC, I'm actually making La Mulana sculpts too. Just, I'm crafting artifacts themselves instead of any character (since my experience is in stuff like pottery anyways haha).
Ur stuff is still cool and good, go you.
-
While that sculpt is, of course, amazing as always, it does have a glaringly obvious flaw.
You forgot to include the super-secret special reward item!
-
How the hell can you make those small details/parts this good? :o
-
Hot damn, CCC. Keep it up.
-
Woo! Glad to see more stuff from ya man! The Majora's Mask stuff is gold!
-
Whoa! Holy crap! That's really good! I noticed momo's style right away too. Great design choice there!
You should submit this to NIGORO and get this featured on the Kickstarter campaign. This is too much for words. I just love how you were able to stuff so much detail on one figure. -
Wow, your stuff is so good. So many details.

Thanks!
Limbo isn't the end-all be-all of anything in particular, but I would recommend finishing it (it's pretty damn short).@Holy:

Ooh which artifacts in particular? What sort of scale are you doing them on?
And I hope you share them with us when you're done :D@Panda:

Haha at one point I realized that I'd kind of fucked up the ice cape by making the weapons on his back stick out way too far (so it couldn't really drape over without looking weird). Although I settled on having it just drape over one shoulder, I considered turning it into that and hanging it over an arm or something (given that that's what Dracuet uses to make it).
How the hell can you make those small details/parts this good? :o
Years and years of amateur tomfoolery. Just practice, really…

Already submitted via pm to the kickstarter group ;) (I actually kind of made it with that in mind…)
I hope they don't care that it doesn't really have anything to do with the sequel… -
…Long time no update. Hard to find time to do this stuff when I've got a real job.
Still on the Majora's Mask kick.
This time it's Majora Moon Kid w/Fierce Deity Mask and...Tingle. They're both about six inches tall.
Majora Moon Kid, MM, Fierce Deity, MMs from 10 years ago, 8 years ago, and present
!
I achieved the worn effects on MM by burning the horns with actual fire and by rubbing matchstick ash all over the surface.Tingle:
!
Only hard part about Tingle was the map, because I refuse to draw anything on with pen/marker/paint, so the lines are all just clay. -
Holy crap dude that's amazing.
-
When can I place a preorder
-
Do you ever take commissions on this stuff, or is this purely for the heck of it in your free time?
-
You sure you've not been practicing every day? The stuff from a few years ago looked petty cool, but some of this stuff now just looks professional
-
Thanks guys :)
Commissions/pre-orders happen, ironically, when I win the lottery and don't have to work a normal job.
And I wish I had time to do this every day… But no. Just a lot of learning from past mistakes and crappiness. -
Bloodborne got me inspired to go back and do my favorite boss from the whole Soul series. Sir Alonne is a beacon of light shining out from the crap that is Dark Souls 2.
I wanted to do him in scale with Ornstein, but he wound up being quite a bit larger (about 10 inches tall, despite his bent-knee stance).
Approximation of his ingame arena lighting using crappy web-based photo filters.
!
Back and side view:
!
Started with the sword. The first blade attempt came out reallllly nice but it was kind of floppy (with no wire in it) so I stuck it in the oven for an extra 10 minutes to try and harden it up. Big mistake.
!
Tried again, and the second blade attempt had the same thing happen for a reason that I'm still not sure of.
Third time was the charm, although honestly the first blade was the smoothest and nicest by far :(
Final sword:!
Work-in-progress compilation:
!
Katana hilt is supposed to be extra long, which meant his top hand shouldn't be up against the guard. So it had to be suspended between both hands. I solved that problem with a wire peg in the open bottom hand. I slip the hilt down through the grip of the top hand and hook it onto the peg.
!
Contemplating doing a generic Bloodborne saw-cleaver hunter next, because none of the bosses really scream out to me.
-
So CCC… are all the toy and model companies fighting each other to get you, yet?
-
CCC that is awesome, and if you go for a Bloodborne one you should do an Eileen the Crow sculpt with the Blades of Mercy.
-

Haha I wish. Translating manga and making anime/vg toys? I'd never have to grow up.

Not a bad idea! I do love plague mask motifs. Masks in general. Easier and more impressive than bare faces, usually.
Speaking of, perfect transition to another guy with his face covered…
It's Tomura Shigaraki from My Hero Academia!
Easily the most visually interesting character in the series' short tenure so far, and I wanted to get this done before bandai starts making dozens of official figures of every single character (when MHA becomes as big as OP).Alternate shots + base + in-progress composite + inspiration panel pose:
!
-
I don't read Hero Academia, but that is some impressive work, man. The Dark Souls 2 boss also looks amazing.
-
Wow, wonderful work as always~
-
I also love it.
Handanatomy also looks great and thats something rly hard i would assume. -
Thanks guys!
…Sorry for the hiatus... Recently moved and haven't been able to do art for a while.
This next set is from the amazing new indie game, Undertale, by Toby Fox.
There's Frisk, Sans, and Undyne.
Frisk's Real Knife is removable, as are Undyne's spear, her ponytail, and her eyepatch (revealing eye laser underneath).Individual + alternate shots
!
-
Oh my god yesss. These are fantastic. I especially like how Undyne's hair came out, it looks really good. And I love the concept on Frisk, too. It also looks good. Any chance you'll do a Papyrus?
Also you should totally post these to Toby somehow.

Thanks :)
Especially for the reassurance on Undyne's hair. I wasn't thrilled when I realized it wouldn't stick out straight to the side…
I was initially going to do a full-on Two-Face style Frisk (with a vertical line down the middle; all black to the right), but in the end, the idea of "potential" was more appealing than straight-up duality.Papyrus seems...unlikely nyeh heh heh.
I have a soft-er spot for more threatening "villains," and Papyrus is definitely not one of those. If there's a fourth, it'll be Mettaton EX ;)As for Toby... I guess I could do a tweet @ him? As soon as I research how Twitter works...
-
@ tweeting him alone might not be enough considering he's like… avoiding notifications. For obvious reasons. You can try along with the game's # tags.
Love the Undertale stuff. It's safe to say that I was totally expecting this! If you are on a roll with threatning characters, then you might as well do the Annoying Dog munching on Papyrus's bone.

Yeah I tried tweeting. Unlikely that he'll ever see it, but that's okay :P
And I am pretty predictable at this point haha…
Speaking of annoying dog, Undyne's head ended up being completely removable by accident, so there's still the possibility of making a swappable dog head and pretending she's Greater Dog. -

If I had money to burn, I'd throw it at you for the sake of Papyrus. Mettaton EX is a decent runner-up, though I suppose. No plans for full on Omega Flowey?
-
This is amazing timing, CCC. (Not to mention amazing sculptures, as always!)
I've been on an absurd Undertale kick these past couple weeks myself, and I happened upon a picture of various arts and crafts people have done based on it, inclusive of a clay Toriel figure. My immediate thought was how great it would be if you did some. Glad you evidently read my mind!
-

Well, I'll never say never re: Papyrus. Everyone does seem to want him, after all!
…Never @ Omega Flowey though. Photorealism in cartoony clay is above my pay grade ;)@Panda:

Happy to do it!
That same clay Toriel (which was insanely well done) you saw was the kick in the pants I needed to start this project, lest someone else do all the good ones first ;PEDIT: Okay I caved…
Gimme a few days.!
-
Hah, a picture of your figures has made it to at least one other place, just saw it in the Something Awful thread for the game.

Whaaaaa
Do you have a link? So I can go there and presumably get mad over lack properly crediting the artist? -
Knock yourself out. Not sure how to link individual posts, it's a little more than halfway down the page. Although you'll probably have to keep your anger to yourself, it's a paid access forum for posting.
Tangential, but I've actually been surprised about how good people in that thread have been about crediting artists, given how much stuff has been linked. I just double checked, though, and doesn't seem to be anything for yours.
-
Paid access…?
...I'll let them off. This time.
-
Papyrus, here by popular demand!
Goofy eyes are swappable, and plate of spaghetti and MTT-brand Anime Powder can be balanced in his open palm.Boots were really reminiscent of the MM robot masters…
Progress shots (right hand looked really goofy that far up on the spine, so I did some emergency surgery partway through):
!
-
You are my hero.
Plays that song that starts with DID YOU EVER KNOW THAT YOU'RE MY HERO, but doesn't bother to link it because that song sucks
I love how the head and hands came out and the little accessories are a nice touch (especially how they fit in his hand). Any reason you went with black bones? They looks a little strange. Great stuff as usual, though!
-
I really like the hands on him too… Expressive hands are much more fun than the alternative (like...fists).
The ingame sprite seems to have black bones (guess that could just be because they didn't want them more than a single pixel wide?) and I thought of it as thermal-tech skin(bone)-tight lycra. Or something. Even if that makes no sense given the gap between radii and ulnas.
-
Moving right along with Mettaton EX.
The plastic case around the heart is the corner of a Purell hand sanitizer bottle that I cut apart.
Right arm is inspired by JJBA.He's the tallest one yet at 10 inches, and probably the last major character I'll do.
Alternate heart case views, top view, and progress shots:

Yoshikage Kira would be proud of you ;)

@Don:
Yoshikage Kira would be proud of you ;)
Haha thanks, man. I'd probably have a sheer heart attack if he wasn't ;)
-
Last of the Undertale stuff (and the last anything for a while…)!
Heats Flamesman:
Mad Dummy:
Burgerpants:
Muffet:
Group Shot (very large image…):
!
-
That Muffet is adorable as fux!!! And the Flaming guy… I want it.
-
Oh, wow, these were you! I saw them popping up on the subreddit, but since you weren't posting here I dumbly assumed that there was some other dude making cool sculpts. I really like the Burgerpants one most of the new set. Him actually stuffing his pants with burgers puts it just a notch above the rest, haha. They're all great, but relatively burgerless. The face on Heats Flamesman is a beautiful runner up.
-

Thanks! I realized too late she really needs a haircut, but, well, maybe she went down an alternative path after the Frisk encounter…

It was my girlfriend's suggestion to actually do the burger going into pants. Not that she played the game- I just described the character and she asked why I was just going to do him standing there in a boring pose.
And I can't take credit for Heats' face… It was inspired by this piece of art:
