Thank you very much ^_^! goes off to download
Yay, 2nd post! Amazing chapter and thanks to Carly and NeoShweaty!
Ah good somebody else started it. Let me thank NeoShweaty again and you Carly for bringing it over here from mangahelpers.
I didn't do anything, Ashen posted the link… fixes
Wooo! Finally! I am looking forward to this!
Amazing doesn't even come close to how this chapter was. And yet, I predict that many a long-winded discussion will now come up on the reasons for Zoro's Ashura thing. Great chapter nontheless.
Before Sanji v. Zoro comes up, I propose that Ashuraman from Kinnikuman could beat Zoro…:ninja:
Omg~!!!!!! So Good!!!!!!
Kaku cut it really close at quite a few points in this chapter it was only a matter of time before Zoro took full advantage of one of the openings and finished him off. He just did it exceptionally flashily and cool much like Zoro should….
This chapter changed my outlook on the whole fight, some serious attacks actually happened instead of the goofiness that was going on until now.
Thanks Battl…oops, NeoShweaty, Ashen and Carly!
Now let's see what Asura really is.
Thanks, awesome chapter!
aewsomeness thanx a lot for this
So Kaku CAN use his swords in giraffe mode. How cool
Also, for people hoping for Mr.1 level violence, this fight got close. How many bigans and ryankakus did Zoro take? Also, I can't tell but it looks like either Zoro or Kaku got cut in the middle of hte fight.
And lastly, Kaku's a mutant/contortionist giraffe. I now find him awesome too.
:D !!!!!
translation in progress…
Awh snap~!! Kaku's gots his swords again!!!
yes, go for it eblob88

Whoooo 1st Page!
Coolio~! Slow download time, but super worth it~!
Jeez. Kaku almost had the same freaked-out expression during the entire fight. Longest time I've seen that. But I enjoyed the way he was adapting and evolving his techniques during the fight.
Guess Jabura was right when he said his emotions would get the best of him, he was so freaked-out by Zoro's newest technique he decided to lay all of his cards on the table. Thus resulted in his defeat.
And now, finally for the main event….
WOW, Oda really took the whole idea of Giraffe fruit from a joke into one of the more badass fruits in the entire series. I have to admit I love Kaku's moves. Congradualations Oda you once again amaze me with youri imagination. Reading the spoiler this chapter seemed kind of boring, but after seeing bad ass move after badass move from both fighters, I'm impressed. Ths is definately one of Zoro's best fights, its had Zoro badassness, comedy, and great move sets and choregraphy. I think Zoro's final move is just a projection of how strong Zoro has gotten as a fighter. Now for Lucci vs. Luffy, Buster Call, Sogeking, Gates of Justice, Spandam, Robin and the keys.
…Kaku just rose way up in my books from square usopp to cool guy to badass.

I don't remember, when did Jyabura say that to Kaku? I'd be cool if it was right, not that I'm doubting you.
Anyway, good chapter, it's funny how different the spoiler topic and real thing are–I feel a little silly now. Anyway, onto Zoro's Asura move...
I thought it was speed, while others felt it was spirit. However, this chapter kind of discourages my theory, since he seems to be able to move around with his 9 sword mode. Strange...
I'm really glad that Kaku started using his swords again in this chapter. When the Zoro & Kaku fight began, I felt like this would be the first time that Zoro was gonna have a fight with another really good swordsman (excluding Mihawk of course), but then as soon as Kaku started using his DF powers he stopped using his swords, so it was nice to see him use those again in the end.
I thought it was a really nice chapter overall, but I would really like to see an explanation of the move Zoro used at the end. I understand that it was just a projection of his spirit, but it'd be nice to see a more in depth explanation.
What in the world happened here
The pure comedy fight evolved into one of the most badass fights ive read in this manga
This fight is awesome. I actually always assumed Oda would not have a giraffe fruit if he couldn't think of cool moves, but WOW.
Now if only we knew what Asura is. My bet: The physical manifestation of Kietsu's aura.
I don't remember, when did Jyabura say that to Kaku? I'd be cool if it was right, not that I'm doubting you.
Check Page 9 of Chapter 402. I would give you the page, but the MSN group is currently running a systems check or something.
Jyabura mocks him for letting his emotions get the best of him after Zoro and Sogeking make fun of his form and he casts "Rankyaku: Amanedachi".
The end result of this battle: Kaku gets scared of Zoro's Asura and launches a BIG attack which left himself open.
This is tops all other fights as my favorite, and boosts Kaku's awesomeness level by a lot. I mean, he moves like a piece of paper, he's a giraffe, and he uses reverse hold katana? Kaku=OP bad guy God.
man, oda using some of luffy stretching techiques with kaku neck, i'm loving that
It was nice to see Kaku pull off all those interesting moves. Same with Zoro.
dang thats a weird chapter the Kakuraffe with swords just looks stupid even more so than he already did and then at the end we have spider Zoro who magicly manages to grow 4 arms it seems as i said strange stuff going on in this chap cant wait for a trans so i can grasp what Zoro did with his arms.
Yeah I'm with Ashen, you had to know the kneck would turn out to be a major part of his fighting style.

Anyone else notice that those swords seemed a little bigger then normal? Those swords looked kind of giant to me…
Kaku's swords were extremely long originally I think, a convenient device so they didn't look like butter knives when Oda turned him into a giraffe man - I'll have to look back and check, but I could swear I remember thinking they were really long swords
The Asura stance is a super powerful swordsmanship stance that raises his combat effectiveness to the point that his aura or spirit actually causes his opponent to see the illusion of a demon. So its basically eye candy for saying Zoro has reached the next level of ass kicking.
Yeah, Asura remains a mistery. Definitely not speed effect, and i'm not sure if it's simply some kind of illusion as the spoiler made it seem..it's cool, but just weird. Well, at least the battle was very intense here.
I think that those are different swords. I don't know where he got them, but those are definatley longer swords than Kaku used in chapter 401.
I think Kaku looked like an 8-headed hydra when he went berserk for no reason.
HELL YEAH!
Now thats what i am talking about.
Zoro owned kaku

Yeah, well, good fighting techs should confuse the opponent/victim. It's a fighting anime staple.
@igetowned:

Ha, that may be another reason for the 9-sword stance. Way to one-up Kaku.
You people seem kind of hung up on the spirit thing -__-'
Anyhow, I think that Zoro actually transformed into that form, in a way. Mabey the arms were some kind of images, but I think that they're similiar to the "Kage Bushin" type images that can actually cause damage. I don't know, we may find out more in the next chapter when Zoro goes back to normal.
massive nosebleed
omgomgomg…. !@!! aaah....! !!!!
ok. wow what an amazing chapter. and a freakin AMAZING fight. i'm sorry but i can't contain my excitement over this fight, its just.... more awesome than i could have ever imagined.... !!!!
Dammit I can't wait for a translation, this is too good!! Ah... I think I'm gonna faint now....
and i don't care what Zoro did it , spiritual or not....it was H-O-T!

Good Chapter !!
Yeah New chappie! Thanks guys!
Kaku, we'll miss you. Your fights proved that you were truly a great one Piece character. It's too bad you could never join the crew.
And Zoro's Asura…well...I'm going with his spirit. And Kitetsu probably factors in somehow. But overall a lovely fight chapter, and absolutely my favorite Zoro fight. Only one minor complaint. Zoro didn't lose umpteen gallons of blood, but I can live with that. Live on Kaku, live on!

They kind of look like tachi to me; it's more likely that their just big katana though. :/ Still fun to watch him use them; can't wait until it's animated.
Hallelujah! Thanks, Ashen, Carly, & NeoShweaty.
yay!!
Goodbye Kaku, it's knowing you but you are never going to be an next crewmember and you are defeated.
Kaku: 323-417
An shipwight, an CP9 and ate a DF.
Zoro got spirit power, I hope Oda makes some aura villians or spirit-powered villians
Actually, I don't care if he DID transform. I'll say this though: All of Zoro's "aura" moves started AFTER he got kietsu. Oda said all "magic" had to do with devil; fruits. Mayb Kietsu has some kind of demon-manifesting devil fruit Zoro is using without knowing?
