I seem to be having difficulty with my headphones. The volume is supposed to be muffled when you plug 'em in, and that's how they've been working. but last night I noticed that the volume wasn't being affected by the headphones, and so now if I play late night TF2, the people next door might hear it. How do I change this?

Anyone have more info on miyazaki's new movie? Rumors are saying it's not happening.

I'm about to buy a new monitor. My brother says LED monitors are better, but my granddad claims there aren't many differences (between LED and LCD), only a few.
I've been reading through some reviews on the internet, but I'm still not sure.As for now, I'm thinking about this one. If someone could tell me more about it (as in you had/has this monitor before, have experience etc).
EDIT: I've also found this. Which one would you recommend?
-
I don't anything about those two specific monitors but i can say that the Samsung Monitors are usually better than the LG ones, better colors, better sound quality, better design and more customizable menus.
Also LED are only better than LCD because they have better luminosity, are thiner and consume less energy. But of course they cost more.
Personally i'll go with the Samsung without even thinking.

Thanks for the advice!
I got the Samsung.Another quick question: as things are standing now, my mom won't be able to afford a language course for me so I decided to get a basic knowledge with the help of the internet (and maybe a book). Could you recommend me sites/books?
Yet another tiny question: I'm planning to learn not just Finnish, but Danish and Swedish too. Which one should I start with? -
Never heard of Livemocha ? You can learn other languages by taking courses, give/receive exercises to/from friends.
Try it, it's pretty effective if you really want to learn practically any language.

Hmmm. Does any one here know what a blue/green/gray eye color is called? I've been looking around and can't find any sort of specific name for it–if it even has a name.
-
I believe its called hazel
ed–nope wikipedia says different. Dunno, then, sorry
My mom has that color, though, whatever it is...

Just curious but when someone gets banned and they have to make a new account. Do they have to make another email or not??
I just want to know how much effort trolls put into their work -

I just want to know how much effort trolls put into their workYes, you can't signup with same email address twice on vBulletin forums. Though there are some workarounds for this.
So how much efforts do trolls put in signing up depends on how intelligent they are :P

I've tried looking for the name of this color since forever, gah–
It's also my eye color (me and a family friend have the same eye color) but I've yet to find a correct name for the it. Hazel would be almost perfect if it just involved changing colors instead of changing colors between brown blue and green. (by almost, I mean my eyes are forever seen showing three colors at once instead of just one at a time… there's literally a 'v' of green in my eye, surrounded by light blue and gray)
Thanks for trying, Buster~ <3

Maybe this will have what you're looking for?

Nah, I already looked at that. They didn't have it. :/
Thanks, though~

So I've been trying to learn how to make my own animated GIF's to use as Avatars. I've been trying to make one from a clip, I got it working(seemingly) fine. It's under 97 KB, it's not above 150X150, however when I set it as my Avatar, it doesn't animate, however it will when I preview it in Firefox, and in photobucket.

I don't know how well linking avatars works on here, just save it to your computer and try uploading it.
Edit: When I look at the info for the image it says it's 600 kbs, which is over the limit.

I took the liberty of optimising that gif for you. Don't feel compelled to use it, but just giving ya an option.

I've been trying to learn how to make these, but their file size is always to large, even if the image size isn't. I try to keep the amount of frames short too, however it still is too large.

To be honest with you, I'm not that good at optimising file sizes either but reducing the colour palette cuts down the size considerably in most cases.

I want a pet cat; could you give me some advice? I'd be very grateful~
1. I'd like to know if it's good for a cat to live in a flat. I know there are certain cats who don't mind, but I'm curious how much space does a cat need? I don't want it to feel uncomfortable.
2. If I get a cat, it can't be sooner than summer when I'll have all the time in the world (no school) to spend on my pet. However, when school starts, I'm afraid it will feel neglected because there'll be no one to be with it for like 6 hours (although I don't know how my next school year will be because it'll be my last high-school year so I might be home earlier than now). What do you think?
3. How much does caring for a cat cost? Buying the food, going to the vet etc.
4. Can cats be trained not to mess up the furniture?

Don't get a cat, don't get a pet that you won't take care of and spend real time with.
Wait till you have time (not just one, two or three months.)
Seriously, think a lot about this before trying to do anything. -

Only one question: How much is considered "real time"?
-
Hmm…. I definitely agree that getting a pet is a big deal, but the thing with cats is that they generally tend to be the kind you can just leave alone and know they can take care of themselves. I'm not saying you should go for it because I think that depends on the temperament of the cat, but you could consider getting a cat after high school instead.

If you're gonna raise it from its early years, consider it like your own child. So 24/7 (minus sleep time). So try not doing it alone.
If he's a bit grown up, and it's a cat. Then i guess prepare his meals and it'll be okay.Even if 6h is still too much (Only if 6 hours straight though).

As ideal as it might be to be able to spend all day every day with a pet, it's simply not feasible for the vast majority of people, especially in today's economies where both partners usually have to work full time, and if no one but those who could be home 24/7 adopted animals, there would be an even bigger problem with adoptable animals overflowing shelters than there is, but there are ways to approach this problem. More on that later…
Cats are rather social Nolus, contrary to popular opinion. If you think you need to be gone large periods of time in the day fairly early on in your ownership, you might want to look into adult cats from a shelter--even just a year or 2 old would be good. The shelter could tell you of two that are bonded and best buds already, but who are still affectionate with humans. Its usually best to get two at the same time (if you get kittens, get them from the same litter if possible), since this tends to make it more likely that they will be bonded to each other--this bond and companionship would make it easier for the cats to be left for long periods of time, especially once they are full grown--which really does tend to take care of the away from home for large chunks of the day thing.
Things to consider--Kittens are like toddlers--they get into things that they can't get out of, they chew stuff a bit, they climb the drapes--it's adorable, but they need to be protected like a baby, so they need someone around most of the time--maybe not 24/7, but the majority of the day at least. When they hit teenager-hood, they go streaking around the room--they are crazy and wild at that age--all about playing and running, then eating and sleeping (Again--adorable and absolutely hilarious if you know what to expect, but some people are quite overwhelmed by this stage). Its older cats that are peaceful and affectionate, and who sleep upwards to 18 hours out of a day.
Indoor cats don't need a huge space--even for two cats, especially if they are bonded. In fact they can be ideal pets for a small apartment. I recommend making them exclusively indoor cats--once they get out they are convinced ever after that it is their God given right to go outside, and not only are they destructive to your screens and what-not in their zeal to get out, but they can be quite destructive to native wildlife and local ecosystems once there.
IMHO, I think your plan to be home full time for the first two or three months is a great way to get the cats acclimated to you and your apartment, making it a tad easier for them to be left once you do go back to school. Again, though, the youngest of cats will still be in need of supervision after that initial period--part of why I recommend older animals in your situation.
As for the cost of ownership--it varies widely depending on your location--you'd do best to ask around to friends and see what they have to offer about local costs. Also--adopt with the idea that these cats will be new members of your family--not disposable in any way. You should be prepared to commit to them for their life span. That's a considerable amount of time, and if you aren't settled yet, and anticipate moving in the future, it becomes much trickier to stay committed.
Anyway--hope this answered your questions a bit--good luck in making your decision.

I have had five pet cats in my lifetime, and they can really become your best friends. Buster Call really nailed everything you need to know about taking care of them, although I will say all my cats have been both indoor and outdoor and I've has never had a problem. It really depends on where you live. My current cat actually never leaves our property, which is surprising considering she was a stray. You'd think she would go where she pleases. But then again, my cat is fat and lazy.
-
Thank you all!
You have answered my most important questions; this is what I wanted to know. Although, as it seems for now, I won't be having a cat (nor any kind of pet) soon, but I can at least think about the whole thing and when the time comes, I'll be able to make a decision.

Okay, does anyone know what this is from? Because it looks cool.

Uhm, I'm assuming your'e asking for the source; its from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I think its part 2, but I'm not sure.

Oh. Thanks!! although that kind of disappoints me in a way because I would have loved to see an entire movie in this style.

What is a tag cloud on this forum?
-
I've got some virus from textsrv .com and it hyperlinks text to adds. I have adblock plus on firefox so it's blocking the actual adds(aside form a box where it would be) but the words are still hyperlinked. I've used Microsoft Security Essentials, AVG, and Malwarebytes(?) but none of them have helped find or get rid of it.
It seemed to be a problem with shockwave flash pluggin on Firefox, so I've uninstalled both Flash Player, and firefox and reinstalled, but I can't rid it.

I don't know how much trouble you are willing to go through, but I would recommend this malware removal guide. It not only got rid of a virus I had, but found a whole lot of other crap I didn't know was on my computer. As I said though, using this guide is very time consuming, and you need to follow it to a tee or you risk messing up your computer. But that's the cost of being thorough.

Are the staff really keeping up to date with this?

I doubt it. :P You could try reviving the tag thread and requesting tags for certain threads so it's more coherent.

Well i don't really use it. I think i'm just a bit perplexed why it exists if its not useful to people. Saying that i don't know if people really use this for navigation or anything else. :I
I guess its more spawned from the endless vat of curiosity i seem to conjure up.

Hm, well I guess the manga-related tags are kinda useful, if people want to revisit old threads. Plus they're the only tags I actually know what they link to since the rest are pretty much random phrases that make little sense. though I think that one animations tag is kinda pointless now that western animation has its own sub-forum.
