Just beat Klonoa: Door to Phantomile for the PS1. The game reminds me of a fusion between NiGHTS into dreams and Kirby and I love it! And the ending, all I can say is that it'll slap you in the face and make you go "What?" but in a surprising way. I just hope I'll one day get Klonoa 2 and a PS2 or they can make it available on PSN hopefully.
What are you Playing?

Ok, I beat Ittle Dew.
That was definitely a charming little puzzle game. Another cool touch I liked was the fact that you could play through the 'levels' in whichever order you wanted. Since you get new abilities by beating the levels, though, what that ends up meaning is that a lot of puzzles have different solutions depending on what order you play through the game, which lends it a nice bit of replay value (combined with the fact that it's a fairly short game to start with).

Played through Senran Kagura Estival Versus game definitely looks nice on the PS4.
Wish shit wasn't fucked up this weekend that way I could buy a few things on the flash sale. Along with AC: Unity
-
After buying it like…a year ago I finally finished LISA:The Joyful RPG on steam. It's a sequal to "LISA: THE PAINFUL RPG" (at least I think these are the official names, I feel a bit stupid for spelling these titles like this). I would have played it right when I bought it...but after the end of the first game I couldn't take the beginning of this game. It's a really heart wrenching, emotional game and despite all the 32-bit violence and suffering I'm glad I played it.
It's an RPG in the same veil as Earthbound and Undertale--a game full of quirky characters in a unique world with game music. The difference is, this thing is sad and centers around characters tortured by their relationship with the title character. I don't want to give it away, cause if you load up the title screen you get a good idea of what happened. At the end of the day though, I'd be happy for any of the games listed, but it's pretty great that I can list three of them.
-
Since I got a PS4 with Star Wars Battle Front last week I play that.
Finally trying Journey today though -
Playing Front Mission the original Super Famicom game, it's a very good tactical rpg with mechas!
you can actually customize your own mecha with guns and armors! i love it.
although the combat seems very luck dependent with levels playing a smaller role in it. some hits bypass armor and kill faster, some don't. some guns seem to miss alot and others don't. im sure there's a logic to it that i still didn't realize. -
I started xenoblade chronicles x finally.
I'm not as invested at this point of the game as I was with xc, the stakes seem artificially low, too many people are just too "ok" with the destruction of earth and the responsibility of rebuilding the human race. The party isn't as memorable as the first 4 characters of xc.
Mechanically is as fun as the last one, but I'm frustrated with the text size, too small for everything except the subtitles.
-
Playing Resident Evil for PS4. Now I get to be completely lost and die by Hunters, but in HD!
-
Still trudging through Yakuza 4 trying to finish every substory…...and then I fight the Amon clan one of whom has a hammer that can blow you away along with regenerating health.......fun times:getlost:

I've never played a Dark Souls game but been wanting to for a while. Well I got a PS4 after trading in a bunch of stuff and decided to get Bloodborne because it was really cheap. Dang is it a fun game. It can be brutal and at any moment you can get killed by not being aware of your surroundings and getting too greedy by trying to get that one extra hit in. Many of times I just wanted to get back to where I died but being impatient just leads to more death. I don't get too frustrated and most of the time it feels fair and I just get more motivated to take that one thing that killed me and come out victorious. That said, that boss in the graveyard sucked, because he kept attacking me and with all those graves it was really hard to not get stuck because after rolling around 5 times you have no idea what's around you. Beyond that I'm having a blast with it.
-
I'm going to dive into Mother 1/Earthbound Beginnings tonight, and I'm mentally preparing myself for the too-frequent enemy encounters.
And Duncan's Factory. I mean, holy crap.
-
I'm playing the Dragon Quest 7 remake on 3ds! :)
-
Polished off HyperDimensionNeptunia;Rebirth a year after I downloaded it…......on to the next one.
-
I've been playing Fire Emblem 7 on the Gameboy Advance. I want to beat all of the GBA Fire Emblem games before I move on to Awakening and Fates (Id like to play the GC/Wii Ike Fire Emblem games too but im too poor). And holy crap does this game make me feel like an idiot. Between the enemy critical hits, bad positioning/army makeup and just pure bad decision making, ive lost so, so much. Everytime i lose a unit i restart. Granted im playing on an emulator and i could use save states but thatd feel cheap so i barely use them. Im having good ol, fustrating but entertaining fun. Currently on Chap 22 on Eliwood's story.

Fire Emblem 7 is my absolute favorite game!
So you're on the desert chapter? In every GBA Fire Emblem game there's a bunch of loot hidden around the map in different places- you can find maps of their locations pretty easily. It's a Luck% chance of finding it, but guaranteed with a thief. If you tall to Hawkeye with Eliwood, he'll join your team immediately (you'll get him either way though). Lastly, there's a bonus chapter after this one that is unlocked if you total 700+ Exp. on this chapter; you're basically required to go rescue Pent to keep him from killing everything if you want it though. It also happens to include a bunch of strong promoted enemies so be aware if you choose to go for it.
One more thing: Chapter 23 has two versions depending on whether the sum of your three lords' level is above or below 50. Wallace is re-recruitable if it's below 50, but a different character is there if it's above. Just something to keep in mind if you're close to 50 total.
We have a dedicated Fire Emblem thread if you're looking for more tips or just want to share your experience.

Yeah this chapter is kicking my ass. Ive never lost so much in the first turn before and Pent just keeps one-shotting everything before i get a chance to get him rescued. Its hilariously fustrating. Kind of had to take a break.

Played through a lot of Mafia 3 earlier which is probably the longest continous play time I've had with it. I gotta say the game has some really weird design in it between the glitches, the bizarre setup of the story, other aspects.
-
rainbow six siege. Probably one of the best shooters/multiplayer games out right now. It's really tactical and different style of gameplay that really emphasis teamwork. The community is great too.

Just finished playing No More Heroes (a Wii game) and now I'm playing Zack and Wiki (another Wii game).
Man…I never realized how cumbersome the Wii motion controls are. Say what you will about Wii U. At least it has a standard (albeit large) controller.

I don't think there was any problem with the way No More Heroes controlled. I will agree with you that in Zack and Wiki the heavy motion control usage is plain gimmicky. But that game is still a seriously overlooked Wii treasure (pun intended). I hope you like it.

Well, to be fair, the bigger problem with No More Heroes was that the mission system was incredibly tedious and repetitive. And the overworld was very uninteresting. But I still think the controls were uncooperative at times (and there's no way in hell I'm ever going to finish the one-hit-and-you're-dead missions).
And I like the idea of Zack and Wiki. I like a good puzzle game and I like the art design, but…damn those controls. Especially the music segments where you shake the Wiimote to the beat. I think I might try it with the Wii motion plus, see if that makes a difference.

Playing owlboy on steam wish I was playing it on my Vita. Charming game, super fun but so far nothing insanely brilliant about it besides the pixel art being really good. That is not a sleight because the gameplay is super solid it's just kind of once you play it a while the stuff it does, you're expecting most of it.
Ah maybe the story deserves a mention. It's charming and did affect me to some extent. -
I just hit the 100 hour mark in Dragon Quest 7. There's so much to do, and I still haven't finished the main quest yet!
-
Finished Owlboy liked it. Don't quite understand how the game is so extremely highly received because it's not really all that special gameplay wise and level design wise, it's biggest strength being the great pixel art and pretty endearing characters but I definitely have played much smarter/more interesting variations of this genre in the last 2 years.
Good game also super relaxing to play, despite how much I want to get back to Symphonia it takes a bit too much out of me currently.
-
I've decided: I'm going to replay Golden Sun 1 & 2! If anyone has any restrictions they'd like to have me include to make this run stand out, let me know.
-
I've been playing DnD with my Skype mates, and in a battle I took random inspiration from RPGJay's old thread about things he was banned from doing.
Against some skeletons, I yelled "EL KABONG!" and hit one of them with an instrument for 58 damage.
The DM said I pounded it to dust and then pounded its dust to dust. Nice. -
Been playing Mother 1 aka Earthbound Beginnings for a few days now.
As people have said, it doesn't really compare at all to its sequels, but I'm still enjoying it. That said, some of the more annoying aspects are:
-Random enemy encounters that happen too frequently
-Too few item slots
-Most useless overworld map I've ever seen
-Too many large pointless empty areas that you can get lost in
-Equip items don't even tell you how much they increase your stats
-In general, just lots of cut corners I guess due to memory limitations where the game expects you to figure out too muchBut like I said, I'm still enjoying it for what it is. A cute little 8-bit game that had some great ideas, but, like so many NES games, just couldn't live up to its potential.
-
I'm about 150 hours into Dragon Quest 7 now, having beaten the main quest and all of the DLC so far.
-
I had recently splurged on myself and got Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain. But thanks to not having much money to splurge on things, I had to settle for a Xbox 360 version. But still, got up to mission 13 and I can tell I'm really going to be hating these patrols.

Im waiting for heroes of storm FIRELORD thanks blizzardfor making one of my gaming dream scome true
-
Been hearing from friends who pretty much waste their life on MOBAs not really say good things about Heroes of the Storm. What are your honest opinions about it? (I myself am a pretty big Blizzard fanboy…Diablo, Warcraft, and Starcraft will always be a big part of my life)
-
No RTS ever topped Total Annihilation for me.

I enjoy it because it has Blizzard characters, but I don't like playing MOBAs with people so…I've only ever played it alone. Not sure I can offer a real comparison because of that.

I like it. I generally find MOBAs hard to get into (the sheer number of heroes, stats, etc. is overwhelming), but Heroes of the Storm seems easy to get into (unlike League of Legends or DoTA, you don't need to get in-game items to power up your character - that just happens naturally), and the fact that there are bonuses in other Blizzard games helps. (at the moment, playing 15 games with a friend gets you an Overwatch skin)

I finally beat Bravely Second. While it did get a bit too saccharine at times, I think overall I liked it more than the first game; the job system was fantastic even though some of my favorite jobs from the first game were either cut or heavily revamped, the time travel/groundhog day loop was implemented in a much smarter way than making you replay through the same chunk of the game five times in a row, and there was a lot of charm to go around, whether it was in things like the character interactions (Yew was a much more fun lead than Tiz, and even with Tiz present taking advantage of his vanilla yogurt personality to turn him into the party's straight man was a good decision) or touches like the illustrations and banter within the bestiary.
! Even if it felt a bit like a deus ex machina, the Adventurer time traveling back to Bravely Default to give Tiz the hourglass made me go "damn" out loud when I went back to the first game to check that scene myself. Very clever.
! If they make a third game, either a very late 3DS title or a Switch one, I guess they'll have to use Ringabel and the Planeswardens as a springboard, since as far as Luxendarc and its cast of characters are concerned it feels like there's not much more to be done with them. Hopefully we'll get to visit the Moon, since I was a little disappointed that we never did. -
Man I just can't find anything I want to play even if it sounds like it would be nice. I decided to start up Aurora again and do some more stuff. Dropped some infrastructure on Mars and was going to colonize it but I don't have any colony ships and not only did I build a new shipyard to use to make them (which took a year of in game time), but the shipyard I built only supported a fraction of the tonnage of the ship I wanted to build and I didn't feel like waiting even more time to expand 3 times. I feel like I'm dumping time into this stuff and at some point some alien race will come and just wipe the floor with me because I don't have any military ships at the moment.

Replaying Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines
Malkavian of course…
-
I've got three games focusing my time currently:
World of Warcraft
Wild ARMs
And yesterday I got Overwatch.Blizzard is selling the Overwatch origins edition for $35, $5 cheaper than the base game, until November 28th.
-
Mobile gaming… I've been really addicted to FIFA Mobile lately... it's basically ultimate team, but in your smartphone... trying to build a complete Liverpool team...
-
I recently been playing Persona 3: FES (The Journey). I am currently in the month of September, and getting close in beating this game. So, I can't wait! ^^
-
I'll be playing Pokemon Sun and Moon nonstop until Dragon Quest 8 comes out later this month.
-
I just recently found out what Fightcade is so I've been binge playing Darkstalkers 3/Vampire Savior non-stop online competitively. Found out I'm a pretty average player but I'm having fun with it. Also tried out Street Fighter 3: Third Strike and found out I'll never in life be good at that game. I love it's soundtrack though.
-
Fairly recently started playing/streaming Undertale, on recommendation from a few other AP people. Really awesome game, the characters are so lovable (and I recognized one or two of them from a few AP member's avatars and signatures, lol) and the story is solid. I greatly enjoy how meta the game is, too. (I tend to really like stuff like that.)
I did a fairly aggressive Neutral run for my first playthrough, so I got what I think is one of the more depressing Neutral endings, haha. (But hey, I'm not planning to do a Genocide run ever, so I won't get the worst ending.) Currently working on (and streaming) a Pacifist run this time. I don't know if I'll call it quits after this one, or eventually try for a better Neutral ending than the one I got, but I do know that I plan to end on a high note and make a Pacifist run my last.
-
Playing Shantae Half Genie Hero. Fun. Kind of a slow start. It's a little less Metroidvania-y but it's good. Annoying you have to buy the back-dash again tho.
-
For some reason I am playing Far Cry 2. think it was kinda underrated
-
Thinking of picking up some Kirby games I missed and mixing it up with a playthrough of Gimmick! The later looks really brutally fun
-
Playing Half Genie Hero and not sure if I like it. I mean it's really good and fun, but my biggest hook for the series was the Zelda 2 dungeons and I was not expecting that to be completely gone from the game. Now it's just… a generic stage based collectathon-ish platformer with an end level boss... with the only "exploring" being revisting stages to fetch x amount of things with transformations you get.
I'll probally still finish it at some point, but discovering labyrinths and seeking out their treasures within were THE charm of Shantae games for me. Sigh. Very conflicted about it and I'm not entirely sure what would be my personal verdict in the end.

Good to know (I mostly come to this thread for the Hiroy reviews).
I'll wait until it's on sale, on Steam :p -
I've been really looking forward to playing that new Shantae game… being away on vacation has kind of gotten in the way, otherwise I'd probably have finished it already.
With HGH it definitely seems like they went towards a direction of it being more of an action-platformer than it was in previous games, that much has been evident from the trailers. What I'm interested to see is how the stages utilize the transformations and the overall design of the platforming.
But yea, overall I think even without playing it I expect Pirate's Curse to remain a favorite, if anything just because of the sheer degree of joy and comfort I got from the pirate tools over having transformations.
