Thor's reaction to Hulk coming out and completely undercutting the tone of the trailer was absolutely hilarious.

I enjoyed the Thor movies more than the 1st Captain America and the 2nd and 3rd Iron Man movies.
This looks all sorts off awesome. Now to actually watch it with sound on lol.
Homecoming is really the first time I'm looking forward to a Spiderman movie too. And of course Guardians!
Then adding on Defenders and Punisher series, it's shaping up to be a strong Marvel year.
-
So how many times had Mjolnir been destroyed?

So how many times had Mjolnir been destroyed?
It's like asking how many times has Superman been kryptonited.
When you got a character like Thor you are pretty boxed in on what can actually bother him.
And messing with his you have to touch this to be thor stick is the laziest way to pull it off.
-
I don't care for the song but otherwise looks fantastic.
What's with all the hate that immigrants get lately?

So, anyone saw that Thor cameo on the Planet Hulk Trailer?:ninja:

I'm not sure what you're talking about. All I saw was Beta Ray Bill cosplaying as Chris Hemsworth for some reason.

Well I certainly am looking forward to this! I loved the first Thor film and I found the 2nd one to be decent.
It's hard not to get a Guardians vibe off of this one, yet it's derivative enough to be it's own thing. I don't blame them for taking that direction though, since not a lot of people seemed crazy about Thor 2, so to make 3 a bit more out there and fun is understandable. And this is probably one of the better ways to handle Hulk, since he seems to do best in small doses rather than his own films. So pairing him with Thor certainly doesn't hurt.
Just curious to see how the post-credit sequence of Doctor Strange fits into the movie.

I really liked the first Thor movie, but I wouldn't put it above Captain America. The second was . . . . okay.
This looks FABULOUS. Now I'm pumped.

Well when you set the bar THAT low…
And I thought Thor 1 was alright. Dark World never existed. Regardless, no group of friends is going to hang out and suggest that they pass the time by watching Thor 1 or 2 unless they're doing a whole MCU marathon lol.
-
Kevin Smith also thought this trailer was very good:
Although, what does he mean by, "that Kirby background"? What about that shot makes it Jack Kirby?

Or watching Rifftrax.

Also, this one is gonna be the most likely candidate to include the…
! Soul Stone
So that's exciting too!!
! I always figured Thanos already had that one. I'd find it weird if he gave the Mind Stone away - even for a limited time - if it was the only Infinity Stone in his possession. At the very least Thanos needs to get ahold of the Soul Stone at the end of Ragnarok.
Also, Thor needs to have his shirt off in this at least once.
With the new hair, let me sign your petition.
-
That music makes me wonder woman. I wonder if it's in the movie itself.
-
The new Asgardians of the galaxy trailer looked really good.
-

Kirby had a really distinctive way of doing architecture, especially outer space sci-fi sort of stuff and machinery, and the wall texture there is loaded with his style.
.
He also had a very distinctive way of doing energy effects and space backgrounds that's insantly recognizable as the "Kirby Crackle" and thats sort of there in the space stuff at the end.

The Thor films should've embraced the "living panel van mural" aesthetic from the start.

The first Captain Americamovie bored me so much. So tired of Nazi villains. And Cap doesn't have the personality I like if there's nobody for him to play off of.

2 ranks higher for me cause of Loki lol. I can't recall what happened in Ironman2 other than a whip guy hitting race cars. 3 was meh. Fun enough. But nit one I eagerly rewatch.
-
I don't think they should embrace the Guardians of the Galaxy silliness entirely. Hopefully there's actual drama here. At least that's what I want. The Dark World has a lot of problems, but what I did enjoy was the drama surrounding Loki and Thor and just the whole family dynamic. I hope that is still here.

Apparently the Kirby art isn't just inspired, it's straight up actual Kirby.

Kirby's stuff really is amazing. He has a style like nobody else.
I never get tired of geeking out over him and Ditko. Probably a 60/40 split to Ditko tho.

Thor 2 has a lot of faults, but also some good action and comedy bits, like Thor on the subway, and the Portal fight. Its a perfectly serviceable 6/10 movie.
Also, friendly reminder that Iron Man 3 is the best of all the marvel movies

It's funny that you say that, because I say that Thor 1's portrayal of Loki is better due to showcasing more of his tenuous relationship with Thor and Odin. Some of his character conflict was nice. I liked the shapeshifting gag in Thor 2 and the IDEA of having Thor and Loki team up, but everything else about Loki in the movie was forgettable. And I definitely didn't care for how he obviously faked his death.

That's cool. No superhero movie is ever going to leave me with a more ambivalent impression than Ant-Man.
-
Iron Man 3 kinda sucks when it tries to be an actiony movie but when it's a "Tony Stark deals with PTSD and past mistakes" movie it's pretty good

The faking the death thong is weird. Cause iirc…Didn't he take Over as fake Odin at the end too. Is this movie going address that? Cause even at the end of Strange Thor is conversating about Loki. I'm very confused lol.

Death by atomic wedgie, but the thong is elastic so you can fake it.

It probably will. Loki's hanging out with the Collector in this film. And we have word that Odin's a homeless person on Earth due to presumably being cast out by Odin. And Hela is supposed to be Loki's daughter. So it's all about putting the pieces together. The only real question is if Hela and Loki are adversaries.

Holy carp, Daz and I agree on a particularly out-there opinion.
"…because we're connected." drives off

RDJ's delivery of this line gets me every. Single. Time.
That, and the henchman's "Honestly, I don't even like working here, these guys are so weird".

Man i watched Asterix & Obelix : Mission Cleopatra again yesterday, and it's probably the best example of a comic in motion.
Would've been interesting to see a Marvel movie made in the style of the French Asterix films.
-
Now I'm just trying to come up with an image of what that might even be
Oh wow. I didn't even see that typo lol. If I had time for art I'd totally draw a Loki death thong lol.

She is? Oh man. There's so many questions. Who's the mother?
What did you mean Odin cast out Odin?

Fun Fact: Loki has at least four children in Norse mythology. The giant wolf Fenrir, who eventually devours Odin. Jormungandr, the Midgard Serpent, who can wrap around the entite Earth and kills Thor during Ragnarok. Hel, called Hela in Marvel Comics, who rules over Hel (yes, they're spelled the same), where the dead go. And an eight-legged flying horse Odin rides called Sleipnir. The mother of the first three is a female giant. Loki shapeshifted into a female horse to seduce a male horse to create Sleipnir.
But for Marvel, Hela is the only recurring character. So we will probably only see her in the movie. I wouldn't even be surprised if she got retconned into being Loki's biological sister or is not related to him at all.
Sorry, that was a typo. I meant that Loki probably casted Odin out.
-
Norse mythology is weird as fuck…...not that most pantheon mythology isn't but Jesus.

All pantheons where the gods are basically crazed dicks and/or petty jerkasses are just the best.
Jesus is way too goody two shoes, the dude probably never took a stupid dare or banged a horse in his life.

I remembered the Slepnir thing cause wtf lol. But the others I forget about.
There's a mini comic that cracks me up cause it's Slepnir giving Loki a mother's day card.
Found it.

A lot of the fucked-up stuff comes from Loki.
Fun fact: Loki isn't the god of mischief, he's the god of fire. He's just a fire god who's really really mischievous.

Always a great combination lol. "Surprise fire guys!"

I don't think the Norse Gods were Gods to a specific thing.
Only Thor was associated with lightning and storms and Odin sometimes is associated with war, but other times he is a wizard.
-
wizards are pretty good at war, to be honest
-
Wizards don't have much social grace though.

Nah, the Gods had definite roles. Off the top of my head, Tyr was the god of war, Freja was the goddess of sexual fertility, and Frej was god of agricultural fertility.

Vidar is VENGEANCE?!
Lol, this makes me laugh so hard because I know a couple who have two Bernese Mountain Dogs named Odin and Vidar. Both are the SWEETEST things imaginable and Vidar is still only 10 months old. Sweet, precious (BIG) puppy, the god of vengeance. Lol.

If memory serves correct, Odin spawned Vidar for the sole purpose of him ripping poor Hodur (Baldur's blind, ugly brother) to shreds because Loki tricked him into killing Baldur. He also survives Ragnarok and kills Fenrir to avenge Odin.

Norse gods family trees also make the Greek ones look tame and wholesome. Its a very good idea that they didn't decided to delve into the subject matter of something like let's say, Loki's sons.
I never watched Thor 1 before so I can't judge, but I actually had quite a good time with Thor 2 and found it genuinely enjoyable. Pretty hyped for the new movie.
