Sentry took Rogue's flower.
-
@RobbyBevard:
The big twist is suddenly Rogue has no accent?
I know its all to easy to overdo a southern accent, but… something?
So just about how close to Rogue speak is your accent bro?
-
@RobbyBevard:
For a DC comparison, it'd be like if a new monster showed up, and over the ifrst four issues took out Superman, Captain Marvel, 8 Green Lanterns, Batman, Wonder woman, Martian Manhunter, Lex Luthor, and the rest of the Justice League… and then in the last issue was confronted and beaten by a guy that looks like and has the powers of the Savage Dragon (which is an Image book)... but who was coincidentally part of the DC universe since its inception.
You could've just said Superboy Prime.
-
Sentry took Rogue's flower.
You mean it wasn't Gambit one of the several times she was depowered and they spent the night together?
Or Mageneto whenever they figured out he could touch her somehow?
Stupid retconned Sentry who didn't actually exist 10 years ago but pretends he did.
You could've just said Superboy Prime.
I kept trying to come up with examples but couldn't figure out a good one. Wonder Twins and aqua lad such. Superboy Prime works much better. (Even though he at least existed 20 years ago.)
@wolfwoof:

I'm actually south of Southern dialect. Hooey, outside of usin' the word "critters" ah don't have much in th' way of a southern twang, ya'll.
-
Too bad. I was enjoying reading you as some kind of male southern belle

The only good thing that came out of it was the hilarious reaction of the Rogue, Gambit and Romy fans.
-
Well fiddle dee dee sirrah Wolfwoof. Ah'd prob'ly sound suthern enough, just don't have the iconic words in mah lingo.
-
Yeah you do a good new yorker allright. Sigh if only you had the makings of a southern gentleman
-
Galactus beats them all, as does Stranger.
-
@The:

If you are still talking about Sentry then you may be interested know that I was researching him (because I had no idea who he was) and he apparently stalemated Galactus off-screen. I'm not sure if it was accurate and people were calling bullshit on it but there you go.

Yo they cast Chris Pratt from Parks and Rec as Starlord in their Guardians of the Galaxy film.
Thoughts?
-
What's a Starlord?
-
A Badass comic book character.
They're gonna use this teams story to get the audience familiar with Thanos ,who is rumored and all but confirmed to be the big bad of Avengers 2.

Peter Dinklage joins Days of Future Past

I'm pretty happy with the choice. I've only seem him in Parks & Rec so far so I know he has the comedy aspect down. I've heard he's great in Zero Dark Thirty so that makes me feel even better about it.
I'm just waiting on what they do with the rest of the gang.
-
Peter Dinklage is now in Days of the Future Past.
I have to say I'm very interested in this news. I just started watching Game of Thrones, and he is great on that.
-
First time I saw Dinklage that I can remember was in Death at a Funeral (British version). I have yet to see Game of Thrones. But I do like him as an actor.
I friggin love Chris Pratt. I've no idea who Starlord is but I'm all for it.

Starlord is the main hero, I guess you could say, in Guardians of the Galaxy. (The guy with the dual-pistols in the picture below).

Peter Dinklage joins Days of Future Past
http://www.deadline.com/2013/02/bryan-singer-eyes-peter-dinklage-for-x-men-days-of-future-past/Whoah I'm behind the times… didnt' know they were making a new movie. I'm reluntant to say "based on that storyline" since the movies like to diverge from canon so much, esp since watching a clip on IGN about the the movie, sounds different than the comic storyine of the same name.

Matthew Vaughn will be producing the Fantastic Four reboot.
-
First look at the new Spider-man suit for the Amazing Spider-Man sequel.
!
Gonna post this here, since people were bawling at Spider-man news not being posted here instead of rightfully in its own thread. Maybe I should post it in the Amazing Spider-man 2 thread instead of here, but this thread seems more active so fuck it then.
Seems like a fusion of Ultimate SpiderMan and Raimi suit to me….
-
I like the bigger eyes. Feels classic.
-

Maybe he'll present Galactus like he's suppose to be presented.

I hated the first ASM suit, but I love this one.
-
I don't recall the suit in the first one being different. I'd have to see a side by side to notice I guess.

Omar Sy from The Intouchables joins DoFP.

Playing Bishop is my guess.

I thought this movie was going to be good before. Now I think it's going to be fanfuckingtastic.
Now excuse me while I clean up my pants.
-
Oh, is it fair to talk about the other suits of armor now? I've been sitting on that info for months. Its cool stuff, I helped color some movie tie in things.
-
What I want to know is who's piloting all of them? Or is it going to be something really fucking cool where Tony has an epic final battle where he constantly switches armours with different strengths and weaknesses to suit different situations? Because that would be amazing.
-
On some level i'm a little sad that the Mandarin isn't as campy as he ought to be.
Still the trailer did wet my appetite
-
Yep. Definitely a great trailer that I think really got me more excited for this movie! The previous trailers didn't really do anything for me, but this one was much more packed(I suppose is the word) while the others just seemed to focus too much on being somber.

You… work in the industry?

I don't know. Madarin sounded kind of playful to me. Based off his lines it seems that he will be campy.

Well, according to a reviewer I watched, in the comics Stark is able to have those guys go into auto pilot. Will movie change things up and actually have real people in all of those suits? Maybe they will.
You… work in the industry?
Yes Robby, I'd also like to know the answer to this question!
-
One can always hope. Cause in my mind the mandarin will always be this hilariously campy karate chopping commie loon
You'll never escape the mandarin's lair you blustering capitalist fool!
-
You… work in the industry?
It amazes me that this still surprises people when I talk about it all the time.
Yes, I've worked in published american comics for the last 14 years, largely for Antarctic Press, but I do a ton of freelance coloring and have worked on Marvel stuff including Spiderman and Ironman, often as part of the coloring group Guru-EFX, sometimes as myself.
-

Yes, Robby works in the comic industry. I imagine he worked on some promotional art and ads for the movie that would appear in comic books (seeing as how its a film based on a comic)

Some promotional character shots, front, back and profile views of all the armors, and a couple action shots. I have no idea what its going to be used for, but I've known about the multiple armors since November.
The reference pics are hilarious because they did NOT want them leaked, so they have this glaring watermark all over the ref with the name of the person its given out to, so that if the pictures end up anywhere they'd know who let them out. (they also sent ref from a previous Iron Man book… that we'd colored.)
-
I always did figure the comic book stuff was just a cover.
And that old Robert was in fact an expensive Texas gigolo

That's…. awesome.... I want to ask you like 1000 questions now but I don't want to derail this thread grr. lol.

Guru-eFX! They color Greg Land. <3

We have, but Ponzer does a better job on his stuff IMO.

Really, I'm surprised you didn't know Rin. 1PceXperience I can understand since he/she's new, but…you've been here longer than I have (and Robby, apparently)
-
I Didn't know Robby was involved in the comic book business either and I've been here since about 09 (was under a different username) but I also don't really associate much with anyone outside of forum threads. Not too surprised tho.

This would be a perfect time to plug

Apparently I'm oblivious to these things…. I don't know how that missed my gaze either...
