Eh, not a huge fan of the who share universe thing(I'm a guy who didn't care for the Avengers the first time I saw it). I think superheroes films should be separate from one another to tell the strongest standalone story. I'm not saying its a bad thing they've built towards a shared universe, I think that's a kinda neat innovation in cinematic terms, but still meh.
However eventually your gonna run into a mess of problems along the way, they can't do this forever. When all the key characters in this verse have gotten their trilogies in order what will Marvell do then? The Avengers 3? But then what else? Reboot? I'm not sure what else one could do differently with these characters, they just don't seem to have that longevity as much as something like Batman has.
This is part of the reason I love Batman, he is a character who has such longevity and as Nolan said he can go on forever on film unlike say Iron Man, Thor, or Captain America which just doesn't have a varied a history with a strong rogues gallery to keep them on support.
Batman has much more material to draw upon, so much variations/interpretations that he is the crown jewel in comics to use for cinema. You can James Bond Batman easily since there's no set in stone version of him anyway, and he's a character who's thrived on reinterpretation. Some people will prefer Millers insane anti-hero Batman, or some will prefer Neal Adams heroic batman. Just like in film, some people might prefer l Keaton's killing Gothic sociopath Batman, or some might prefer the more humanized, heroic Batman of the Nolan films. I love that about Batman, he's so enduring. He's immortal…really he is.
