Huh, I was sure it was going to be either Moonstone or a Kree baddie.
Also, no relation to the Elder Scrolls god, I'm sure.

Ok, if you don't care about Spoilers read on:
! No seriously, this is THE big twist the whole movie hinges on. It's better IMO to see it actually happen in the movie so turn back now if you don't want to be spoiled
! >! The big twist is that the Skrulls are the good guys. They're a cell of Skrulls who just want to have their own home. The Kree are the real bad guys with Yon-Rogg (Jude Law) basically being the main antagonist.
I think they should´ve left hints about Riri earlier, instead we had Tony mentoring Parker and the possibility of having a son/daughter who's gonna take ages to become into something.
mostly because it's definitely gonna cause an uproar to just suddenly go for it with Riri.
Which makes me believe we're going for an easy path of 'all new-all different Avengers' for Phase 4, especially with Black Panther, Dr. Strange, Ant-man, The Wasp and Cap Marvel, whom none of them has joined the organization yet. And of course a new avengers with no Ironman or Cap America.
Question about Captain Marvel
! Why was Jude Law white? I mean, he was supposed to be a Kree, wasn't he? Are

You see, the Kree is a diverse "mutliracial" space empire, and as such you have Blue Krees, and you have lesser Pink Krees that just happen to match caucasian-white american standards.
Lol what are the bigots saying now that the movie wasn't a gigantic failure

Some youtubers are "apologizing"
but we know Youtube has a shit userbase and all youtubers are clickbait so everyone went it with when it was cool to hate it and now everyone's good with it now that's cool to love it
They are? Any links? I'd be interested in seeing if any of them actually swallowed their words.
Has any MCU movie ever flopped? Like I get it some underperform but it's rather annoying to see that twisted as "lmao movie is so bad it flopped"
It's The Last Jedi all over again.

The closest thing to a 'flop' MCU has had was Incredible Hulk. It didn't do 'bad'. It made about $100k over the movie's budget, which isn't amazing considering MCU's track record.
If you're reading into trolls saying "LOL! MOVIE IS BOMBING BS BS BS", don't bother. They're already making conspiracy theories of "OH! THEY BOUGHT HALF OF THEIR TICKETS!" and "INFLATION! [even though it's being competed to movies that came out 5 years ago]". They're going to make every excuse, and they're going to act like they won no matter what.
Also, The Last Jedi was the highest selling Blu Ray movie of all time, and is the 11th highest grossing movie of all time. It ain't a flop. At all.

Not really, no. Tho Incredible Hulk is the worst performing one and it probably either broke even or made a tiiiiiny profit.
Adjusted for Inflation it made about 310mil.
It's hard to call since we don't know how much they spent on Marketing, and since that was back when they were an independant studio without Disney money, it's probable they spent a lot less than is the norm now.
The measure of a success scales as time goes on and is relative tho.
Another example: Captain America: The First Avenger was definitely considered a success, and it only made 370 Mil, 435 Mil adjusted for inflation.
Phase 1 was again, before they had Disney money and also before they were a household name and just putting "Marvel Studios" guaranteed a certain return.
If a solo MCU movie for a new hero did those numbers these days it would probably be considered a modest loss, or breaking even at best
If a solo movie for an established hero like Cap or Iron Man did those numbers it would definitely be considered a flop.
If an Avengers movie did those numbers it would be considered a catastrophie.
That being said, the first Ant Man made about 610 Mil adjusted for inflation and it was a brand new character being introduced to the MCU right before he appeared in a big team up (Civil War) and it was considered successful enough to get a sequel, so I'd say a flat 600mil global is the absolute lowest benchmark Captain Marvel has to meet to be considered a success, and at its current pace I highly doubt it'll fail to make that.
Yeah that's what i figured, thanks.

Update on the whiny Youtubers!
The newest sad attempt to "Prove" the movie they don't like is taking is that they're now crowing about the movie havinga "71% Drop" from the opening weekend to the following Monday.
Mondays are not a particularly busy theater day. There's ALWAYS A huge drop on Mondays, especially for movies that attract kids since, they're in school. Weekdays in general are typically way less busy which is why industry analysts wait for a the second WEEKEND to really put much stock into drops.
Let's see a few other complete failures of filmmaking that had a ballpark of 70% drop in from their Opening Weekend to that Monday:
Avengers: 66.9%
Age of Ultron: 73.7% BO Total: 1.4b
Infinity War: 64.3%
Iron Man 3: 73.8%
All of these movies grossed over $1b total.
This means nothing.
The only $1b+ Marvel movie that DIDN'T have that kind of drop was Black Panther which came out President's Day weekend, so most people and kids had that Monday off.
I just got an app that allows me to filter/block whatever YT videos I want because I got tired of all the clickbait and other shit that's become prevalent on YT.
Oh? you getting tired of seeing Simon Gotch buries Enzo Amore too:ninja:

Wow, this shit is sad
are they really that upset about one female lead character having a role
like seriously, they say keep your politics out of our movies…. WTF is that supposed to mean, 19 movies and one female lead, good heavens there trying to brainwash our young kids
--- Update From New Post Merge ---
ANd the third Captain Marvel switched to Photon, Pulsar and Spectrum… (and no one cares about her at all...)
So you don't think she'll be getting her own movie?
Man, some people are pretty pathetic. I just can't believe how they can get sooo upset over a superhero movie with a female lead. Really saddening.
People need their hobbies, and internet facilitates destructive behavior more than rewards constructive behaviors.
We need a new model ships, or like turning garbage preparation for recycling into someting cool.

The exact same thing happened with the latest season of Doctor Who, too. So yeah, some people seem to think that having a female lead automatically makes your product "SJW Propaganda" or whatever nonsense like that. I've seen quite a few people who had more substantive grievances with Doctor Who, The Last Jedi, Captain Marvel and other such cases getting extremely frustrated by these kinds of people because it's basically reached the point where if you criticize these properties for anything at all, people will just assume you're making excuses to cover up the underlying factor that you HATE WOMEN or whatever…
Let's forget some of that nastiness for now and get some good feelings up in here
I really appreciate the fact that they've spoiled next to nothing about what will happen in this movie. Like, anyone who wasn't on-board with this franchise already is not going to go see Endgame, so there's basically no need whatsoever to sell this movie to anyone. Just give us some flashbacks to the events leading up to this point, some scenes to demonstrate that though the Avengers lost, they haven't given up, and a release date… and then all the hype basically just creates itself.
They spoiled 3 things. 3 obvious things, but 3 things nevertheless. Tony, Nebula and Carol.
Who is the dude with the mohawk again?
I'm really curious what the hell the plot of this going to be. I mean, making a 2½hour blockbuster out of "The Avengers go to Thanos farm and demands he comes out of retirement to fight them" sounds very unexciting.
They have to figure out how to reverse the Decimation, how to prevent Thanos from doing it all over again and maybe how to implement various countermeasures for any other lunatic who could try to abuse the Infinity Stones. And then actually accomplish all those things since things never go smoothly.
That's right, keep the plot vague. Forget the main story, they didn't even show Tony and Steve interacting. That's what I want to see. Wonder if Marvel's making Clint's daughter the new Hawkeye.
TBH we have no idea about this movie except a fraction of the avengers lineup.

And that Spiderman and Black Panther come out of it alive, or the rest of this phase is set in the past.
I personally didn't like this movie that much.
Saw the twist coming miles away, predicted much of the end.
Not much surprises with the exception being Samuel L Jackson being the highlight and stealing the show.
Couldn't relate to Carol as much as I did with the other superheroes.
Didn't even know about the internet thingy until after I saw the movie.
But genuinely think her speech was lame but hey, maturity demands we love the role not the actress.
Yeah pretty much forgettable .
I'm of two minds about this trailer. On the one hand, I'm glad they're keeping spoilery stuff out of the movie since I want to be surprised, but the part of me that wants to know what's going on is being driven nuts lol.
Looking overall awesome tho. Also loved Carol's moment at the end.
"I like this one".
I love Thor all the more now.
They spoiled 3 things. 3 obvious things, but 3 things nevertheless. Tony, Nebula and Carol.
Everyone and their mother knew Carol would be in it after infinity war already.
WAIT… Was... w... WAS THAT KATE BISHOP?!?!
It may be a very minor thing, and it's so minor I'm not even gonna spoiler tag it, but I like that it doesn't look like Carol herself named Goose.
Carol being a huge Star Wars nerd is a big part of why I like her in the comics, so I'm hoping future movies can still explore that.
So you don't think she'll be getting her own movie?
I think with four Captain Marvels to choose from, and them having already skipped the first one, the newest freshest one with a more unique power set, attitude, race and religion that hasn't really been represented yet, and whose entire gimmick is that she's the setup as a "next generation" hero following is the most likely if the franchise does at well.
Monica can absolutely show up and sidekick, ala War Machine, but Captain Marvel would have to be a ridiculous hit to warrant giving her a spinoff. (They've barely even gotten Black Widow going.)
After they've cranked out three Captain Marvel movies, if there's still gas in that tank, Khamala is certainly the next in line for a film in like, 2028.

The exact same thing happened with the latest season of Doctor Who, too. So yeah, some people seem to think that having a female lead automatically makes your product "SJW Propaganda"
TO BE FAIR
uggh
Please note I'm not defending those assholes or their starting bias against the new Who season before they ever even saw it based entirely on the new lead. And that I am about to use "SJW" unironically purely as a cultural shorthand to lump in all that it implies, good and bad, but I feel dirty in doing so.
But.
TO BE FAIR
The new season of Doctor Who started by loading up on a whole batch of racially diverse companions and then proceeded to actually focus really heavily on social and racial politics for multiple episodes, such as an episode about Rosa Parks and another about the Partition of India, during which people's races and religions were major discussion points…. rather than focus on alien robot invasions.
It actually IS a legit case of the current showrunner doing a major swerve on the tone of the established franchise in order to focus on SJW politics and issues into a show that largely has just ignored the racial stuff in the past. Who has dipped its toe very lightly in those waters from time to time, but moooost of the time "oh you have a girl wearing the union jack on her shirt during WW2" or "oh, you have a black companion, is she your servant?" are given a line or two of cheeky dialogue and then the historical issues are glossed over entirely, if they're ever brought up at all. Most of the time it's just ignored.
A lot of the season has felt a lot more like Quantum Leap, which dealt with those issues all the time (30 years ago!) rather than Doctor Who which is traditionally only able to go as far as "The Pepper shaker robots are a Nazi allegory."
Add onto that the fact that the current doctor is kind of .... dull? And has no really interesting quirks besides "being a woman for the first time" and a lot of the stories have been pretty dull, all while ignoring the entire archive of a rogue's gallery... well... The actress is fine but she's not leaving much of an impression, be that because of the scripts or just what she's actually bringing, I dunno.
It actually IS a legit case of SJW progressiveness completely stamping into a show to push a message, and not subtly or gradually.
Not for the reasons the assholes are citing out of hand, because the same show with the same scripts but having a male doctor in the role would STILL be a heavy slide into that territory... and it would still be a pretty dull and boring season. So... they're right? But not for the reasons they think they are.
@Daz:

Maybe they'll focus on the characters since they are getting rid of some. Generic plot but good character beats?
I like the trailer. It gives you a feel of the movie but not a plot.
Rumors going back a while for Infinity War suggest that… and uhm, spoiler, because its sort of speculation, but if its true it might actually be a huge spoiler
! Timetravel will be involved and that will be a lot of the movie's focus, taking us back to the first versions of the characters we saw like 10 years ago.
Cap with his shield back, can't tell if that's a flashback memory or actual last-fight footage.
There is no way Talus is forgettable.
I thought he was pretty forgettable, too. Felt like a character on a random episode of a decent cartoon. I truly didn't get the hype for Mendelson at all. Samuel L was the only performance that I really enjoyed.
Black Widow with red hair and Cap with his real shield makes me happy and ready.
World is ending everyone is depressed
Better make sure my hair is back in red
-War has started-
DCU- And we are hopelessly outgunned.
I'm guessing her hair being long and red is to show a passage of time. Instead of having a proper montage song.
The last scene on the trailer doesnt make sense. Why is Thor and Black Widow with their Infinity War Looks but Captain Marvel is there too. Did she travel trought time to that day before the snap?
