As if the pandemic or serial killings didn’t end humanity a fucking heatwave will. But remember Climate Change is fake news from the rhinoceros’s in office. Stay safe American kings and queens
So basically the same people ginning ip conspiracy theories of kids being mutilated are now pushing to castrate sex offenders?
Seemingly unaware that you don’t need that part of the body to sexually assault someone.

Yes, but probably sex offender is gonna be LGBT+ people and black & latinos like in Jim Crow times.
Apparently offenders only become eligible for castration if they commit one of the "most serious" sex offences
(rape, molestation, incest etc) with someone under 13.
And offenders can also refuse the castration, at the cost of 3-5 years extra time on their sentence.
So while it's still pretty shocking (and cynically co-ersive with the prison time factor),
I was actually expecting worse when I clicked it. (100% forced castration, and for a wider net of offences.)
But yeah, this still sets a horrible precedent.
When they choose to expand that net... it's gonna be pretty damn bad.
They'll do pointless shit like this but won't pay for the bottom surgeries of trans people who actually need them.
Julian Assange is finally free !
In comparison, Chelsea Manning had been in prison for 7 years...
If I had to guess, I'd say Biden has a hand behind this.
Given he had to plead guilty I don’t see what hand Biden would’ve had in that.
I mean his sentence went from 150years to 36 months… but yes apparently Biden didn’t make any move says the WhiteHouse. My guess was that it was one of these good actions presidents usually do before ending their terms.
Yeahhhhhh I don’t think that’s why any of this happened.
They probably figured “this cowardly motherfucker has already wasted years of time hiding out in embassies and fighting extradition let’s just kick him this plea deal where he doesn’t have to serve time and move on to other things”.
Also a friendly reminder that he's also a rapist.
I do think more people should be US gov't whistleblowers. They are one of the few USians I respect.
Not caring about whistleblowers is what brought you Trump
Pretty sure that was the media treating the Tea Party as people with legitimate economic anxiety rather than the astroturfed racist backlash against a black President that it actually was.
Don't think there was ever a non racist petit bourgeoisie political movement. And middle class screaming bourgeoisie economical interests is exactly what bourgeoisie owned media wants and loves.

On top of the idiotic narrative of “both sides” in trying to make Trump & Hillary Clinton seem like equally terrible candidates with similar negatives. Nevermind the objective fact of one of the two having zero political experience.
And constant bemoaning of “coastal elites” not understanding the common man. But the guy that was born in New York which sits on the East Coast and born the son of a wealthy real estate magnate and sued numerous times by common folk somehow did?
How long people are gonna keep on bitching that Hillary lost to the opponent she picked?
Both are horrible human beings for mostly the same reasons, white conservatives from petit to full bourgeoisie families.
Aside from COVID management and putting the white supremacist dog whistle on a megaphone, I can't see in which MEANINGFUL ways her economic and foreign police agendas would diverge.
The whole we wouldn't be here without the awful orange man is faux. Y'all wouldn't be there if you weren't a settler colonial project, but you are much like the vast majority of this continent and by being it the germ of fascism has always been present. And since Nixon yours bourgeoisie decided, as Killinger put it "save (capitalist) economy over saving democracy", that's the reason d' etat of both DNC and GOP.
I mean even if Trump hadn’t been boosted were Rubio or Cruz coming out with the nomination?
We know Jeb Bush wasn’t.
That aside it’s still a valid complaint. Again Hillary had a number of legitimate problems but even with that in no known universe was she equal to Trump in general shittiness or simply being unqualified.
This is violence against people and society.
Thomas is so predictable.
As is the rest of the conservative wing.
This is a sad day in the Surpeme Court. I'd dread that Trump immunity decision more, but I think it literally would requite the judges to give up some of their own power. I guess on Monday we'll knock if 6 of these judges are really willing to give it all up for this guy.

I wish I could, Randy.
Truly, the one of the biggest steps in authoritarianism taking over democracies is compromising the court.
What a way to kick off 4th of July week. Truly this is what the founding fathers fought and died for.
@Envy
The err is assume supreme courts serve the people and not the bourgeoisie.
Also annoying is the distinction that the President has immunity for official acts but not unofficial ones. What that seems to mean is that this'll be decided in a bunch of stupid cases that will try to distinguish what is an official act is for a President, and odds are it'll be all the shitty ones. If Trump gets back into office, it'll be pretty much everything.
However, I admit I do want to see if the next two or so Democratic Presidents use this. They probably won't, but it'd be interesting to see.

Set up in a situation where Trump winning means [] was official and Biden winning means [] was not official
which is what i figured would happen but christ.
Everyone assumed the SC taking this case was a stalling tactic so Trump wouldn't have his J6 trial before the election but holy crap, no on thought they'd actually come down with this decision. All the lower courts said "no, this is dumb, of course he's not immune."
But hey, a group that no one elected gets it sit in on a case about a guy that appointed three of them. There's no conflict of interest there at all!
And they're doing it now because they know Dems are too nice to abuse it, but the dictator in waiting absolutely will.
Additionally, didn't one of their wives support the thing trump just got immunity from
yeah totally no conflict of interest, i love america
Thomas & Alito both in particular were pretty damn blatant examples of conflict of interest.
And incidentally because of their wives. Funny how Trump himself who’s attacked individuals because of being married to people who supported campaigns or simply didn’t like him is oddly quiet about those two.
@pariston_hill the fuck? Why he said this publicly
@Nitwit we’ve kinda passed the point where they can’t talk shit publicly. Far-right wins everywhere despite being ignorants. Polls look good despite all the crap said.
Politeness and civility do not work in the face of facism, and are mere pleasantries afforded to the affluent liberals who do not have anything to lose under facism.

They been saying the quiet part loud since the Nixon years, reactionaries are proud to turn society back to the 1890s.

When you are bombarded with 100 years worth of anti-communist propaganda, when the corporate media worked so long and hard to make people politically defranchised, when their candidates have pornographic amounts of campaign funds because they will usher a new robber baron era, they don't need to be particularly well educated or witty.
@pariston_hill it’s not even about where « anti commie propaganda was done for a century and this or that » when countries that had historically strong communist parties like Italy or France are falling in the hands of fascism
@Nilitch CPF was pro keeping Algeria French, and Italy hada whole left behind operation to hinder their party in the post war - as if Palme Dutt hadn't wrote about how they failed to curb the ascension of Mussolini. Not exactly what I would call a healthy left tradition.
And I'm not even opening the can of worms that liberal, centrists and social democrat parties have failed to address the issues risen from the post cold war onslaught of capital.
Should go in random news given how random this is. But given how such a thing could only happen through years of political lobbying and shitty 2nd Amendment favorable laws

That's bordering on parody, but sadly it's real.
Like, the motivation is clearly money, but I wish someone at some point stopped and thought who is the kind of person who needed vending machine ammo. Like really, who stops on the street, realizes they forgot to buy bullets, and use this? No one good.
Edit: I just read that this thing requires a driver's license, which actually makes it better than some gun sellers. Crazy.
Saying the loud part quiet and the quiet part loud

And yet somewhere out there, they’re are still people out there that think Zaslev is amazingly insightful and intelligent businessman who made the right decision to shelf Batgirl, Coyote vs Acme, and a bunch of other projects.
Yet stood by Flash & Furiosa.
@Time-Control-Magician I’d be weirded out if companies support Project 2025. Are we going to see Christian versions of Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck teach kids about the Bible while getting hit by an anvil?
