I feel like Mineta would get in legal trouble for merely existing as a hero student, yet here we are.
My Hero Academia II - A true Hero
-
-
Now we saw Camie, I wonder if the anime really made Midnight's uniform white or if it is just how they color a naked body and nobody explained it to Horikoshi…
-
In-world logic is one thing (questionable or not), but this is the anime dictating canon ex-post-facto because of corporate concerns.
-
doesn't the white make a little more sense though?
i feel like Midnight would get in legal trouble for wearing something that looks like actual indecent exposure around kids compared to just a thin white bodysuit
That doesn't stop people from making and using skin tone (for lack of a better color name) yoga pants.
-

Didn't Oda change shusuis's color because of the anime?
-
Didn't Oda change shusuis's color because of the anime?
Even if he didn't, he did change the Whitebeard Pirates' mark to match the anime.
Honestly, if the creator himself isn't up in arms about it, and it sounds like Horikoshi's reaction to Midnight is "Why didn't I think of that?", then I see no reason for us to care.
-
Nezu asked Midnight to change her costume into something less likely to get the school sued.
-
I still miss Whitebeard old symbol
-
I don't. It should be a sensitive thing.
I feel like small stuff like colour changes aren't that much of a biggie.
-
Wait, Midnight's suit was supposed to be skin colored? That would look awfully questionable, lol
-
Random question. But does anyone know what month it currently is in the manga?
-
The OP anime made Kuma's outfit black and white, instead of the orange and white Oda intended… and that's a case where the anime was absolutely right. Kuma in black looks way better than Kuma in orange.
(Especially since Oda inked it solid black when it was b&w anyway.)
Worth noting however that the anime got Marco and Jozu's colors completely wrong initially as background characters but Oda did NOT match to those.
Also go back to Dragonball and those weird green and orange colors Vegeta had in his first couple episodes before switching to the classic white and yellow.

I gotchu

@CCC:
I gotchu
Thanks!
Wait are you personally keeping track of the timeline in excel? That's awesome.
-
Comic book time is always weird.
-
…They don't pay me to know these things, but I have to.

@CCC:
…They don't pay me to know these things, but I have to.
Aww. I know that feeling lol.
I was mostly curious because I was trying to look up where it was stated the times of the year they do the provisional tests. I only remembered the September one but couldn't think of the other months.
-
Ooooh, since December is coming I hope we get MHA's version of a christmas chapter or two.
Could be funny and/or heartwarming to see how the different students celebrate it.
A "secret santa" amongst the students themselves sounds adorable. -
Someone with a Santa quirk…
But before that...They skipped Halloween! I kinda wanted them to dress as that promotional art from a while back lol.
-
what the hell is gonna happen to ruin christmas, i wonder
this has to be where hagakure betrays everyone and steals their presents, right
-
Can I say that a 4th character poll coming right now is super dumb? It has barely been a year since the last one.
-
Aren't they always this time of year?
-
Sorry one last comment on the wacky timeline: ~30/190 chapters took place on a single day in September over the course of a few hours. I don't blame people who found Overhaul arc too long.
-
My Hero Vigilantes chapter 34 is out.
! Cops using their quirks during an emergency should be allowed. At least it seems she won't get in trouble.
Koichi rushing to help. He's grown so much.Liked today's episode. The censorship was weird. Wonder if they'll give Camie a flesh color for the DVDs. That Todoroki implied filler was good so far. I hope Bones does the same for Momo's group.
-
Aren't they always this time of year?
Yeah, but other series takes waaay longer. One Piece for example has been around for 20+ years and only had 6 polls. Nowadays these new series such as Black Clover are making this an annual tradition for some reason.
-
I'm fine with character polls being annual instead of the once every three or four year thing they used to be. Especially with younger series still fleshing things out where a year can make a lot of difference. It also helps the author know which characters are hitting and which need more love.
Even the OP polls are every two years now instead of the 3 or 4 apart that they were.
-
I can't think of too many series that do the polls. Actually I can't think of any polls outside of One Piece and this one. Naruto? Did Bleach? I didn't have too much investment in other series to notice. But I like that MHA does it yearly. It does seem weird to me that Deku is so far behind a secondary character. Bakugo is my favorite but it's funny to see him so far ahead when he's not the lead.
Oh yeah. The episode today. I really liked the filler bits. Particularly that guy's quirk. How cool is that? Made me think of the Ant Man movie. Although it seems odd to give Todoroki more filler when he does get some focus because of Windy. I am curious to see how that one filler guy actually featured in the opening factors in.
Vigilantes just makes me hope for more stuff from there to cross into the main series. It's strange that cops can't use their quirks. I really don't get the reasoning especially if it's something that can be used in emergencies. I'd get why you wouldn't want a cop that could create earthquakes or whatever would only work in offense. But ones that could save lives easily? Seems odd.
-
MHA usually has such brilliant character designs that ten palette swapped ninjas feel obviously out of place, at least to me. Same thing, to a lesser degree, with the Tsuyu filler last season, though that might be due to being extra familiar with the manga.
Jirou's move didn't have the same visual flair to me but also I always need more Jirou so, you know.
-

Agreed.
I go over the chapters with a fine-toothed comb each week, and it never fails to amaze how every random unnamed person in crowd shots (at sports festival, in city streets, other classes at school, at billboard rankings, in Fukuoka during Endy vs. High-End) has a unique design. -
Hey CCC lately it was making the rounds that all might says hid quirk is all for one in the 2nd chapter of the english release and it was found in a volume purchased a month ago. Idk if you've mentioned this but was that previous to you working on the series or whatever but do you know how that happened and why it hasnt been changed? 9
-
I mean I'm the sole translator from the start, so yeah.
I'll, uh, look into it.
-
Blurb I found on tumblr
Horikoshi: I always wanted to include a chapter about All Might’s past, or rather, I thought that I definitely NEED to write about his past. In the movie, the young All Might is shown studying abroad in America, and I thought this might not be something that could be brought up anymore in the actual manga story up until now, so I saw the movie as a chance to present this. Of course, without a doubt, the movie and manga are adjoined, and the movie is connected to the manga story that happens after it.
So the movie is actually canon?
-
A Jump movie actually kind of mattering to the story? Nice.
For the episode, yeah, seeing similar-looking mooks in MHA is actually pretty jarring, which is in a way cool. Effort goes to designing even the most minor characters.
Also, "Camie" did look wierd with the body coloured that way, but don't particularly care for powers that require girls to be naked. I mean, like with Midnight there's at least a quirk reason for it, but ehh.
Side note (and just in case spoiler warning): This was such a great display of competency on Touga's part. It sort of melts together well enough with the chaos going on and it makes sense it would slip Deku's mind. Nobody else really met her, either. Still best element of the arc.
-

Maybe Hirokoshi himself wants the polls. I can see him using it to gauge which side character gets a mini-arc, like with Jirou.

She dropped from 7th to not even top 20 between the 2nd and 3rd though. Unless you mean he decided to try and give her some focus since she dropped and he wanted to see her higher. And he is trying to develop the ones towards the bottom as he method.
-
I need Endeavor to make the Top Ten purely for the trivial satisfaction of claiming to random people that a domestic abuser is one of the most liked characters of a superhero series.

What about…inserts Hank Pym meme?
-
Comic book Hank Pym is a beautiful character, but most people will ever know the live-action version whose worst crime is only being arrogant. And people only know and care about the Scott Lang incarnation.
-
You can like a shitbag character for being a interesting shitbag which I think Endevour is (mostly because shitty dads are usually just killed or hurriedly redeemed and don't have to live with the consequences of their actions like Endevour does). He got more nuance than I ever expected him to.
-
Earth's Mightiest Heroes does a pretty good Hank Pym,he was a relatable douche through and through.
Damn I miss that show. -

One Piece had a character poll every year until the 4th one where it took a 5 year break. Naruto as well took a break after the 4th poll so maybe Heroaca will do the same.

Bakugou isn't a secondary character also its incredibly common in these polls where the most popular character isn't the protagonist because it gives the incentive for fans of the extended cast to vote proactively (spam) for their favorites. The last poll allowed you to vote for three of your favorite characters (or up to three times) and on top of postcards you could text your votes and between Bakugou having twice the amount of votes as the runner-up and Shinsou making into the top 10 despite not doing anything you can see what happened.
-
Well I mean Bakugo is secondary in that he's not the lead. I thought the main was usually 1st and 2nd was pretty much whoever else was popular at the time. Luffy has always been first if I recall correctly. Not sure if Sasuke topped Naruto. I think Grimjow got to the top? But I can't remember.

Naruto lost to Sasuke twice and Kakashi is overall the most popular character in the franchise by votes, Ichigo actually lost his 1# spot to Hitsugaya in the final poll in the series. I'm sorry but Luffy technically lost that 6th poll since they added in "Lucy's" votes in to put him on top again since Law narrowly beat him yet still took 2nd which is insane given how recent he is. And yes usually mains don't top popularity polls, Goku lost to Gohan during the Cell arc and in the recent Super poll he lost to Vegeta and Bardock.
-
Sasuke beat naruto to no1
Hitsugaia beat Ichigo for the no1
Misogi Kumagawa (sadistic villain turned "friend", and later friend) beat Medaka (from medaka box) for no1
Nizuma Eiji (Main rival, Oda expy, mangaka extraordinaire) from Bakuman got no1 at least once, I seem to remember Hiramaru (Sorachi expy, mangaka prodigy who doesn't work as hard) wining once as well
Osamu (who is almost the protagonist but Yuma is the one who shows up in the main characters pages) from World Trigger got no1 both times
Karma (the class leader, not to confuse with the class president or the main student) from Assasination Classroom got no1 at least once
…The red haired guy (So not Kuroko, who has blue hair, even though he might be very relevant as it's his teammate) from Kuroko's basket got no1 at least once
Gohan won on one for Dragon Ball after Cell ended
in Reborn neither the baby nor Tsuna got no 1 on the three polls that I saw.But Luffy, Gintoki and Toriko never have been beaten. Gintoki even sat one out to make the poll "Who gets to be in the cover with Gintoki".
It is not uncommon for other characters to beat the main character.
-
I see I see.
Tsuna I can understand since he was painfully mousey the whole time.
Karma and Ejii is kinda funny since Bakugo's voice actor did their voices too.
Poor Gohan fans. He had so much potential lol.
Kurokuro makes sense.
-
Toriko never got beaten? Of course the shonen series with a bland protagonist doesn't get dethroned in the popularity poll. I would think that badass stoic pretty boys like Starjun or Coco would surpass him. I'm quite surprised.
-
I only found One popularity poll, and indeed Coco was second. And it was just before Livebearer was introduced.
-

they knew they had to do it before Livebearer appeared or else he would have dominated the polls entirely
-
Kazuya should've been winning all the polls after he was introduced in Bakuman since he was the best character. Though, I thought he was supposed to be Togashi, not Sorachi. Makes sense, though, since he does do comedy series.
Eiji was always portrayed as this god, but his series always seemed kinda lame. I still liked him, though.
Moritaka and Takagi were just assholes to Kaya so often and Moritaka's love story was annoying. I also was disappointed that their series that lead to the fulfillment of all their dreams and beating Eiji seemed way less interesting than PCP and Detective Trap.
