There's bound to be an universe filled with Saiyan like guys who all figth the same, and this Jiren dude will take care of it all personaly.
I liked this chapter a lot, as someone who has followed dragon ball for 20 years, Krillin is the OG rival.

I'm pretty pleased with non Saiyans getting some much needed love.
I don't see the point in hiding what's at risk from the ones participating. They're going to probably be told at the tournament and that might be much more jarring.
Gohan is planing to usurp goku as the main character .
He's setting up the reveal to do the most damage to his relationships with other characters. Once his popularity tanks, he'll take a rival from the tournament and be the main character, at last.
Just for goten to show up with the Real universe 7 team, him, trunks, future trunks, frieza, ginyu, cell, dabura, baby uub, ghost Napa and the jello alien, ready to prove himself the Ultimate Son.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Then goku, friendless and betrayed will have to scrap by with the bottom of the barrel: the rest of the ginyu, raditz, a saibaman, dabura, yajirobe and yamcha.
the bottom of the barrel: yajirobe
Yajirobe managed to survive the Androids in every universe which is more than any Saiyan ever did.
Has two victories under his fat belt, the third demon of king picolo and vegeta's tail.
Also, Mr Satan takes goku's spot in gohan's team.

Was half expecting 18 to just blow him up.
I actually also really liked how Gohan was handled this episode.
He's thinking of making a plan. Eventhough he had the learning experience of the Lavender fight, Krillin bested him by taking it a step further by limiting him even more - to the point of temporarily rendering him harmless - again, a lesson to be cautious no matter what. I like how the fact that Gohan never had tournament experience is used here, too. It's all interesting and smart character writing.

Well at least until Goku Black and Zeno decided to tie up loose ends.
Theory Time :
I was thinking about the last episode with Krillin facing against the much stronger Gohan and much, much stronger Goku. It then lead me to thinking about the "Mortal Level" that was mentioned by the Grand Priest as to the reason that Zeno wants to destroy the extra universes. It hasn't been confirmed, and there is still much debate on whether the Mortal Level has anything to do with the average Power Level among mortals, so this theory might be totally pointless.
Having said that it got me thinking about Krillin. He is no where near as strong as any of the Saiyans on earth. He is not even near the potential of the half saiyans, and honestly I can't comment on 1/4 saiyans; because there has been such vagueness as to how powerful Pan can become. If Krillin is the strongest human, then he currently represents the potential of the humans. These humans make up the main population of one of the seemingly only 28 planets that are being used when determining the Mortal Level of the 7th universe. This would seem to suggest that Earth as a whole will bring down the overall average because the mortals on it (as far as we know) aren't going to get past what Krillin is at now. You could also say that most Namekians are also low as far as power level, but Piccolo at least proves that some of them could have relatively high levels. There is not a single human currently at that level.
This is a disturbing thought as ultimately even if universe 7 wins the tournament, many other races that met the criteria and were potentially much more powerful would be wiped out simply because of a few super powerful beings in universe 7. I honestly can not see it going down that way, and ultimately I think Krillin might be the key to it all. There is a very good chance that he will end up being the weakest participant in the tournament of power. This excludes master Roshi; because honestly I think his power is part gag power, so it changes as he needs it. I am beginning to wonder if seeing how a weaker being like Krillin holds his own in the tournament will cause Zeno to change his mind about the weaker creatures out there. I'd imagine that the losing universes could still be destroyed, but perhaps the mortals would be spared and moved into one universe in hopes that they will prove as resourceful and entertaining as Krillin had been for future tournaments.
Give me your thoughts.
17… comes back stronger than ever... will fight with Goku... So hype!!!
Next week will decide if I will stay with my Sanji set or go back to 17
17 even gets 2 episodes <333
!
!
! Pico training Gohan again feels nostalgic for sure, wonder if he'll reach higher levels. Probably not Goku/Vegeta level, but not like we remember him from Z I figure, he needs more.

Well its going to be DBS version Hancock and Luffy in the future, perfect filler material after the ToP arc is done.

Sounded like a broad statement to me. Not a "That man is beautiful." But like she was being generic about mortals.
She calls everything beautiful as a quirk.
Again, great episode. Seeing the Kai and gods of destruction was cool and the Pride Troopers' entrance was a lot of fun. It's actually really interesting that they are essentially a good Ginyu Force.
Gone are the days of slow fights of the beginning of the Champa arc. Again, lots of energy and for Toei very solid animation.
The preview looked excellent, too. It's great that there are whole episodes of focusing on these characters.
Nice to someone talking sense. Vados right Goku gave the other 7 universes a chance. Yeah I hate that plot point but if your gonna use it I like to it acknowledged. But yeah the others universes are gonna ignore it.
I feel like this plot point wasn't elaborated properly, though.
On the one hand you could argue like Vados did, but on the other hand you could counterargue that Zeno might have done it way later (as in over 9000 years later) or might even completely forgot it. Sure, in the worst case that might only delay the overall problem instead of solving anything, but at least we hadn't such an one-sided argument. But considering Zeno's childlike personality isn't that farfetched that he really might completely forget - or everything would get delayed until some idiot from universe 9 3/4 brings it up 5600 years later.
By the way, do you have any clue on how powerful Zeno's universe wiping is? Considering that there's a future Zeno it doesn't seem that Zeno stands above time. So that means the past of an universe remains unaffected if he destroys it?
Can we just get 17 already?
One thing I still find it questionable, Did Gowasu not tell Ramushu the whole thing about Black and Goku was the main reason he is alive?
Can we just get 17 already?
I'm with you… So hyped for him. Even more than for climax of Cake Island... Sorry Sanji
17 next week <3
I feel as if the Vados defense was a last minute kind of deal. Yes Goku gave the chance for lower universes to survive, but who knows how long destroying would be on Zeno's mind, rather than him remembering to do so? Then again some have predicted this is all just a giant gambit by Goku and Zeno to force everyone in better shape…?
Buff Buu and the Pride Troopers were pure DB-style fun!
Fit Boo looks surprisingly cute, too bad I am a big fan of his "original" fat look so I still hope he will be back to his regular self when the tournament starts.
Talking about good character designs, it's a shame Jiren will probably have the blandest personality, because I REALLY like the simplicity of his design.
Great episode, btw. The scene with Piccolo got me hyped… (just make him be useful in the tournament and I will not ask for anything else in this arc)

Fit good Buu is….I dunno lol. It's odd to me. I assume he won't stay that way.
I had figured Piccolo could be at least stronger than Gohan since all he does is train and meditate. But Saiyans are probably always gonna be stronger just because. Even if they are out of practice.

How did he even get so fit by that training. I mean, all that Buu is doing since the pregame of Power is attacking stones that Satan is throwing into the sky. And that has been, what?, half a day?
Half a day of training with the champ is like a year of training in the RoSaT.
For being arguably the least important part of the episode, Toppo in the bar stole the show for me. Between this and the Hit scene in the first half of episode 71, I really hope we see more future/sci-fi cities.
I don't know if it was shown in a previous episode, but I really enjoyed Mosco (the robot god of destruction) talking in beeps and needing his angel to translate.
Does skinny Fat Buu even have a purpose? I hope it becomes more than a one-off thing, but does losing weight even mean anything to a bubblegum monster that can pretty much divide his mass at will? In any case, fat Fat Buu is still the best Fat Buu.
So taken with the huge grain of salt considering the inconsistensies of strength with DBS, we can say that Gohan's strength is only a bit behind Goku's when both in their base considering the sparring mach we saw between the two of them in their SS forms were pretty equally tied. Now of course this was a sparring match in Goku's yard with both of them not going at it like a life-or-death match, but it's pretty plausible Gohan would be at that level. Goku still gets leagues above him with SSB so him and Vegeta still are at the top, but it makes sense for his place in the story given he's likely not going to go SSB(outside of some inevitable DBHeroes release I'm sure).
Fit Buu was great enough that it has to stick around as a powerup form.
Vados finally said what the goku defenders have been saying. The tournament is a better way than simply the kids erasing everything.
After the tournament it will be easier to convince them to spare everyone as well.
for some reason I like to nitpick a lot, even though I really enjoy dragon ball super since the abysmal first 30 episodes, especially since it's a good mix between DBZ style fights and stakes and DB level of cast interactions. But come on, if you only have a couple of hours time to train, why FLY to Dende instead of, you now, INSTANT TELEPORTATION.
Before I binge watched super, I was afraid on how the show would handle the multiverse and gods, but I am surprised by how much I actually like the result.
I wonder if there is one above all, who is truly omnipotent and omniscient and who is aware of all timelines
Vados finally said what the goku defenders have been saying. The tournament is a better way than simply the kids erasing everything
That way of thinking means Goku is not responsible for the death of innumerable lives just so he could have fun, but it doesn't change the fact that he was totally going for it. He didn't knew the universes were already going to be erased when he went there to propose the tournament despite everything warning him of the possible outcome.
That said, the other characters are not much better than him. Even when they thought the tournament was the one to blame for all those deaths, all the other character in U7 were like "ok, as long as we win, things will be fine" - like, fuck if billions of billions of billions of people will die, as long as our group survive everything is fine.

But isn't that the entire recurring line of thought behind almost every arc conflict since DBZ? Deaths don't matter in the end because we can just revive everybody? Not that I'm morally justifying it, but it's nothing new besides being on a bigger scale.
I mean since the other 7 universes are weak-ass jobbers they can probably just wish for the inhabitants to be revived in the other 9 universes after the fact with their worlds intact
super dragon balls are OP in that kinda way

For me, the most interesting is Universe 10. Explains why Zamasu had that way of thinking.
Universe 10 is macho? What does that mean?
Universe 10 is macho? What does that mean?
Very masculine.
It's funny the fact that all the universes have an adjective except Universe 7.
Also, Eiji Hanawa is Jiren' seiyuu. Did Hanawa voice a charater in One Piece?
Seems like Universe 9 would be better off if its Gods switched places,
I knew that Arak would be my favorite God of Destruction.
Universe 10 is macho? What does that mean?
It means you're a boisterous, raspy voice having, loud colors wearing, person that hates hot-dogging and grandstanding and occasionally slaps blondes for corpsing:ninja:
Great episode, that was a great reintroduction of an old character (17), but what was up with the ominous music start playing when Dende was talking about Ubb? lol
Aww I really wanted to see 17's family…
Don't worry, I'm sure he'll upload pictures of his family on GodBook….for Android.
I'm surprised they didn't show his family. Now i'm kinda sad. And what was up with 17 being on par with SSB Goku? Goku trains with gods, and 17 kicks poachers. But well, if 17 is that strong, I hope 18 is as strong.
Even though 17's massive jump in power level was massively lulzy, him giving the "OK" treatment to Super Saiyan Blue was the best part of the episode.
