@Horizon:
I'm not sure I'll buy that he'll be defeated yet. There have been several main antagonists that have never been beaten by the end of an arc. I don't know if it makes sense for one of Kaido's top warriors to be defeated before his actual arc especially since there are only 3.
Which main antagonists weren't beaten by the end of the arc in some form?
I want his situation to be like Lucci. He'll display his strength as the main antagonist of one arc but is defeated in the next part of that story.
Enies Lobby and Water 7 are the same arc. They both have the same antagonists, flow right into each other with no clear break distinction, and the Water 7 portion has plot points that are not resolved until later in the Enies Lobby portion.
Buggy and the Baroque works agents were always comedic in nature and are low on the totem pole in terms of power.
Does this really change the point? Comedic or not, they returned.
Mr. 3 didn't go full gag status until Alabasta. During Little Garden he was a calculating member of Baroque Works who almost killed half of the crew and Vivi.
He was still fought and got defeated fair and square. He even lost consciousness.
The entire point I was trying to make is that Luffy is always the one to face the main antagonist in an extended battle. I said this in the last post regarding Arlong fighting others.
Yes, other Straw Hats or people have clashes with the main antagonist… but they don't beat them "for gopopd
Don't be ridiculous. You're trying to diminish what actually happened because you don't want to admit they were actually fights and that you were wrong.
Robin, Nami' & Usopps situations were not even romotely comparable.
They were obviously counted as a joke, but if you're counting Zoro & Sanji vs. Arlong as some full fledged fight, then these should be great fights to you.
You deflected by saying "This is not a matter of trust". Then you acted like you could see the future and created a quote of what you "think" Luffy would say as if it were fact.
Now you're acting like what you think Zoro would do is factual and this still doesn't really answer what I said.
It's almost as if this is all theorizing in the end. What I've said is based on prior character actions.
They can still fight well. Everyone aside from Nekomamushi & Inuarashi is fine.
How do you know how they'll fight? Most of the Mink warriors were shown being poisoned and tortured by Jack's forces in the flashback. It was not just Nekomamushi and Inuarashi.
How did I contradict myself? You're not making any sense.
See below:
@Horizon:
Law rejected Luffy many times yet look what happened.
He did not fulfil his promise. Big Mom only wanted Sanji and that's exactly what she got.
@Horizon:
Pekoms didn't promise a thing.
You're purposely interpreting the scene that way to fit your own narrative.
That was not a promise and he never got the chance to act on his word.
And now it's not a promise again?
The strawhats were still captured. The only reason they got away from Capone is because of Sanji.
Agreed. Pekoms' initial promise was broken because Bege attacked him.
But it still doesn't mean Pekoms has any new obligation to do something that could harm his status in Big Mom's crew. He'll have that obligation after he personally witnesses the Straw Hats saving his country.
Stop making stuff up. Zoro never said anything about Kaido's forces.
You're twisting the words of a character to fit your own narrative yet again.
Zoro was directly talking about Kaido before and in that part of a scan you posted.
It's clear as day like any other time that a character is talking like this that he means Kaido and his forces. Why in the world would he only be referencing one guy in a gigantic army when he knows full and well that they'll be facing the forces of an emperor… which includes more than just the emperor himself.
He talked to a few select minks briefly.
They weren't even there in the day. They arrived on Zou during a sunset, moments before Nekomamushi's time to wake up.
Stop acting like they have some strong connection.
You're just viewing the series through your own headcannon.
It's like you've been ignoring all of the panels and pages where Luffy does interact with the Minks, and are forgetting how Luffy is as a character.
Just last arc he protected Bellamy in front of Doflamingo because he befriended him during the tournament, and got mad at the audience in the colosseum for booing Rebecca, someone he had just met and who had just bought him food. Luffy has been fed and has partied with the Minks, and has showed interest in their plight, and got mad at Jack/Kaidou in the process. His connection is just as strong as any by this point.
You see what you want to see and refuse to listen to anything that conflicts with that.
You also have some kind of complex where you're convinced that everything you personally "think" is factual.
Insulting the other person you're arguing with is a great way to show maturity.
