He let Jean Bart join because he showed interest in him. And Jean was in his debt.
Bellamy has no debt for Law, only for Luffy.
Welp we'll see. I don't see him going with Luffy. He doesn't need to be indebted to Law to join his crew.

Let's go over why Bellamy is pathetic in many aspects.
1. Doffy's personal bitch boy
2. Devil fruit is a bootleg version of luffy's
3. Looks like a bad copy of Sanji that works out more but skips leg day
4. In his conversation with luffy he implied that he hurt the people of skypeia when he took the gold pillar
5. Shat all over the luffy's ambition in jaya
6. Landed the killing blow on the going merry
7. Refused to stop being doffy's bitch after finding out he was nothing more than trash in Doffy's eyes
8. Has done nothing to redeem himself
9. His only current dream is to die
When will the Bellamy bullying end
My interest level has gone up a lot :)
I hope this takes down some of those theories in the new nakamate posts.
It truly does, though ultimately I guess it's how Luffy reacts to this decision and how these allies act in the future. Kinda siding with sgamer82 with Luffy being hesitance/refusing given his stubbornness so I don't know if he'd be okay with all of them making these decisions without his input. Then again, it'd be just like Luffy's alliance to stubbornly stick to his side even if Luffy doesn't want them to.
It's all the more confusing since given the numbering, are these characters meant to be like the Division Commanders or more like Whitebeard's Allies? Or should they just be considered as a separate entity and this shouldn't be compared to Whitebeard's situation at all?
"Sakazuki Cups" WTF MangaPanda
I hope Lufft won't be stupid enough to decline them.
Welp we'll see. I don't see him going with Luffy. He doesn't need to be indebted to Law to join his crew.
No, but Law needs to show at least interest in him. Just like how Luffy showed interest in all his crewmates he got. And just like how Law showed interest in Jean Bart.
I mean, if the idea is for Bellamy to follow the guy he looks up to, then he should join one of the guys under Luffy or Luffy himself. Law's crew shouldn't be a consolation prize.
I hope Luffy doesn't turn them down…I mean he is supposed to be entering the big league and these are soldiers for the war ahead. I mean obviously they can't travel with him, but if nothing comes of this it will be a bit pointless.
Also, Fujitora still much more powerful at this stage. He blew Luffy away and kept all that rubble aloft, god damn.
So this is, of course, a huge change…
If they've really got that many people sailing around with them, how will the arcs go? Will they all be taking part? Will some of them die against emperors?
Worth noting that Bart is the only DF user of the bunch.
Being able to "see" through Fujitora's eyes was also a nice part of the chapter.
This chapter made the Rebecca chapter from a few weeks ago truly 100% pointless as I'd been saying all along. Oda manufactured the issue of them not being able to live together in the public eye from literally out of no where and then drove the final stake through it this week when he revealed the 'the citizens knew all along!'. All of this stalling just to depart at 800 and have a 100 chapter arc.
Seems more like he did it to talk up the citizens hating pirates, and what they were really doing.
Were you not reading previous chapter discussions? Oda had so many people fooled about their true intentions. That and Luffy was fooled just the same.
Holy shi* this chapter, literally cause fuckin panda, figuratively because 56000…
Because it feels like a very Luffy like thing to do precisely because of all that introduction.
Usually I would agree with this logic, but i have a feeling because next chapter is 800 (and its also the end of an arc), that luffy will say yes. They won't follow him around. but kind of like during the marineford war and how whitebeard called all his allies, Luffy will have heaps of allies leading into his fight with Yonko Kaido.

Agree with you 100%, that chapter makes no point whatsoever now.

Luffy was not initially interested in Jimbe
Luffy was not initially interested in Franky
Cavendish hadn't shown any prior interest in Sulieman
Who said anything about Law's crew being a consolation prize? He'd still be a part of Luffy's alliance by joining Law's crew.
Anyway; it really doesn't matter. We'll see one way or the other soon I'm sure.
Luffy is totally going to turn them down, obv., combined this with all the islands who would come to his aid, sabo/dragon…etc. Luffy's pretty well manned for a war.
I'd be disappointed if he doesn't. The break is going to kill me slowly.
Hardly. These guys are for his wars against the Yonkou, first and foremost.
Also you actually think Arabasta would send itself soldiers to Raftel or something? Drum? Fishman Island?
Fuji could easily drown the whole fleet. Finnaly he showed some admiral level.
I meant in pledging allegiance to our lord and savior.
While the seven groups identified in this chapter are offering themselves as subordinates for Luffy, Law stands as an equal to Luffy. The 7 groups can be called the Straw Hat Coalition, of which Law is but an ally, not a member.
So Luffy would be creating an alliance not expanding his personal fleet right? Meaning it's not like the 7 leaders are his commanders? Now all these coliseum fighters and extra characters make sense. Preparing Luffy for his battle against the Yonkou!
Just want to point out… a page like this doesn't come without purpose. These people are definitely going to tied in with Luffy's crew now.
"Sakazuki Cups" WTF MangaPanda
Isn't sakazuki a tradition of exchanging cups of sake, representing a pledge of allegiance in Japanese culture. I think the translation is most likely correct there.
Awesome chapter, even if Luffy might turn them down. Cool to see their allegiance to Luffy being outspoken like this. I also hope Luffy's old friends from the first half will join sooner or later as well in a grand battle. This development makes Bellamy tagging along a lot less worrisome. Barto for messenger a la Rockstar!
And where all of this Orlumbus people have been as shit gave been going on at Dressrosa?

Law's crew is not part of Luffy's personal crew alliance. He is on equal standing to him.
Bellamy would be following Law, not Luffy.
This is an exciting development and inevitable seeing as there is going to be an imminent clash with all the Yonkos.
But I'm curious how Oda is going to handle all these side characters, are they going to follow Luffy around all the time or they just going to come to Luffy's aid whenever the situation requires it?
I'm hoping it's the latter because I don't want the current dynamic of the Straw Hat Crew in terms of humor and their overall interactions with each other to be compromised.

I can see oda using them off screen .
Like you here about them fighting yonko crew members while the SH deal with yonko main crew members .
Law's crew is not part of Luffy's personal crew alliance. He is on equal standing to him.
I guess that's why Luffy literally calls all of the shots. Law tells him to go left and he goes right. He's just another one of Luffy's commanders only he doesn't realize it yet.
law will most likely be the one giving everybody their directions since you know luffy wouldn't want to bother. if luffy accepts it will probably be because law forces him to accept because he knows they will need all the help they can get.

Definitely the latter I'd say.

Law was introduced as one of his rivals though. I don't think he will want to serve under him. Remember how he disliked Kid and Luffy telling what to do as well.
Also, let's not forget that Luffy does listen to Law. Remember the Gamma Knife plan?
Not to mention that this doesn't matter now to Bellamy, so he has no reason to join Law.
where is burgess? why does he seem to always go missing?
Oh man, this topic is going to be buzzin' like a beehive for 2 weeks.
Ok, so suddenly the Mugiwara crew included Giants and Dwarves, Long-legs and Long-arms.
I'm not so excited about this massive recruitment though, I'd rather not see them as part of the crew but some sort of subordinates.
"Sakazuki Cups" WTF MangaPanda
HAHAHAHA! I was laughing so hard when I read your comment. Since I am ignorant of Japanese, I thought Sakazuki was some kind of Japanese alcohol.
There is also another weird thing in their translation. Fujitora said to Luffy,' by destroying Joker, one of the four emperors…' Now, the phrase 'one of the four emperors' is an appositive phrase that serves to further explain who Joker is/was. And that translation is plain wrong because Joker is not one of the four emperors. XD I can see why Psycrow is frustrated with Mangapanda's translation. XD
Goosebumps!!
I bet my eurocent that 800 will show us new bounties.
A fantastic chapter! Damn! What kind of suprise will wait for us in 800!? It will be a difficult to endure these 2 weeks…
Obviously Fujitora can ask Viola To make him see Luffy face with peeping mind. …
The translation wasn't that great. Could someone please explain to me why Luffy felt the need to say where he was attacking when fighting Fujitora? I really didn't get that (especially since Luffy knows about Observation Haki). Other than that, great chapter. Can't wait for the next one.
Bartho: "We've already decided the order. Make us part of your crew!"
Luffy: "Huuuh? No. Way."

it's for teh honorable fighting, of course. even though mp sux in general for translation, that part was clear. Luffy was trying to make the fight fair, as he made no assumptions about how good Fujitora is at using observation.
this was definitely a great chapter and I look forward to the new dynamics in Luffy's crew having its divisions :ninja:

Luffy doesn't hate Fujitora. And he knows Fujitora is blind.
Of course, there is CoO and Fujitora being an Admiral, but to Luffy, he is just this nice blind guy. He doesn't like the idea of attacking him silently.
It doesn't make much sense, but that's Luffy for you.
Holy crap as usual the translation was shit bu this chapter was amazing.
Luffy is so freaking coming, his interactions with Fujitora were great, and Fujitora laughing :).
The ending was great also, Luffy getting his own divisions/allies confirmed is great, we knew what this arc was about but this confirms it and Luffy will probably say "hey GTFO!" but they will still be loyal to him regardless.
Also no Bellamy to be seen, I'm expecting him to come with Law and like people suggested at this point, I'm expecting him to join Law.
Q> If they were accepted, will they travel with the SHs? Especially the Tontattas, since they are not Pirates, will they just stay at Dressrosa?
Well now Luffy has manpower to protect fishman island, if he ever takes its control from Big Mom.

Oh, okay. Something about how it was worded in this translation confused me.
We all know what Fujitora saw that made him decide to blind himself, right?
"Sakazuki Cups" WTF MangaPanda
Wasn't it made clear that Sakazuki means sake cup when Sabo remembered about his brothers when he read about Ace's death by Sakazuki?
I guess it might be redundant to say Sakazuki cups but it's still better than Doflamingo being one of the four emperors.
And on that note. Am I the only one who thought the Idea line was wrong?
He says that he doesn't stand a chance against Luffy at being stubborn, but he stands a chance at being a champion. Shouldn't it be the other way around?
I'm trying to control my spasms right now. The fact that Oda chose 5600 proves it. Go(5) Mu(6)
EDIT: I just realized Jinbe is finally coming back. He should see them soon.

He has no personal hatred for Fujitora and was thus, in his mind, fighting fair. Fujitora took this as a show of pity, which angered him. Right before Fujitora dropped the rubble, the citizens showed him an unbelievable liking towards Luffy. Indeed, Fujitora, upon seeing how loved Luffy is by everyone, smiles and is curious about Luffy. I think it's awesome that Luffy can be a person that makes Fujitora, for a moment, wish he could see again ("he must have a kind face"), given that Fujitora saw the world as a place ugly enough to take his own sight.
Law was introduced as one of his rivals though. I don't think he will want to serve under him. Remember how he disliked Kid and Luffy telling what to do as well.

Not to mention that this doesn't matter now to Bellamy, so he has no reason to join Law.
That's kind of an outlier. Remember when he blew the lid on what supposed to be their special move right at the start of the fight? Or when insisted on saving the meth babies/Kinemon at Punk Hazard? Or when Law said they had to leave immediately and he decided to throw a party instead? Competing in the colloseum and saving Law from Doffy despite being told to destroy the factory?
Sulieman had no reason to join Cavendish, but he did anyway. Same goes for Abdullah & Jeet joining a freaking martial arts club. Bellamy and Law make more sense than any of those allegiances. Dunno why it bothers ya so much that I think Bellamy is gonna join Law. No big deal whether he does or doesn't. We'll see in 2-3 weeks.
@Uncanny:
Q> If they were accepted, will they travel with the SHs? Especially the Tontattas, since they are not Pirates, will they just stay at Dressrosa?
Well, Leo talked about some permission from the chief. So, I guess they will leave.
