I'm sorry, but what?
Donald Trump’s transition team has dismissed the CIA’s reported findings that Russia intervened in the US election in an attempt to ensure his victory, comparing them to investigations into Iraq’s non-existence weapons of mass destruction.
The President-elect previously said he did not believe the Russian government had interfered, after making friendly overtures towards Vladimir Putin.
“These are the same people that said Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction,” said a statement from his transition team.
“The election ended a long time ago in one of the biggest electoral college victories in history. It’s now time to move on and ‘Make America Great Again’.”
Mr Trump ranks at number 12 of the largest electoral college votes and is currently lagging behind Hillary Clinton by at least 2.7 million in the popular vote.
The CIA has concluded that hackers backed by the Russian government targeted Democratic officials' email accounts with the specific aim for Mr Trump to win, The Washington Post reported.
“It is the assessment of the intelligence community that Russia’s goal here was to favour one candidate over the other, to help Trump get elected,” a senior official said. “That’s the consensus view.”
Asked about previous allegations Russia was behind a damaging leak of emails from the Democratic National Committee and Ms Clinton’s campaign team, Mr Trump told Time magazine: “I don’t believe it. I don’t believe they interfered.”
Members of his transition team have also cast doubt on the findings of government and security agencies they will soon be running.
Michael Flynn Jr, the son of the President-elect’s pick for national security adviser, was among those supporting the debunked Pizzagate conspiracy theory that led to a man opening fire in a Washington restaurant.

WASHINGTON ― President-elect Donald Trump said in an interview airing Sunday that he doesn’t need to receive a daily intelligence briefing, stating he only gets the briefing when he needs it.
“I don’t have to be told ― you know, I’m, like, a smart person. I don’t have to be told the same thing in the same words every single day,” Trump said in an interview airing on “Fox News Sunday.” “I don’t need to be told … the same thing every day, every morning ― same words. ‘Sir, nothing has changed. Let’s go over it again.’ I don’t need that.”
Trump is reportedly only receiving an intelligence briefing just once a week. The president-elect said the people who are giving him the briefings are “very good people” and that he was always available if something changed. He also said that Vice President-elect Mike Pence was receiving the briefings.
President Barack Obama has a briefing six days a week.

I guess the "good" news is that Pence really is in charge. Maybe he'll find a way to dump Trump before day 1.
"Y'know, I'm, like, a very smart person."
Here's a non-political, non-partisan statement of fact: less information is not as good as more information. If you're preparing a response to this that is anything other than, "You're right – everyone, especially the President of the United States, should have more information instead of less," please don't bother posting it. It's not true. And it's stupid. If you think that, you're either stupid or you're knowingly saying a stupid thing because you have love for Donald Trump that outweighs your acceptance of his stupidity, which, in my opinion is worse.
And here's why. When we're talking about intelligence work and the president's daily intelligence briefings, we're talking about life and death. George Bush either ignored, misunderstood, or forgot about information in one of his briefings that could have prevented 9/11. I know it's funny to laugh at Trump selecting Linda McMahon to head the SBA, but it has practically no effect on our daily lives. But whether or not the commander of our armed forces knows about the threats we face? That has an immediate impact on our lives for better or worse. ONE ignored briefing allowed 9/11 to happen. Trump has already missed at least 20, and he's not even president yet.
And why am I posting this? I honestly have no idea. Because guess what, friends? There's nothing any of us can do about it. Our time to have done something about it was last month, but 60M of us thought it was more important to stick it to the elitists telling them to be politically correct and to give hybrid cars a try. So now we have someone in office whose actions could directly lead to Americans being killed in terrorist attacks. Not hyperbole, reality. Not complaining because I think his hair looks funny. Death. Buildings toppling. Planes exploding. Nothing we can do about it.
We may as well wrap up the thread with that post.
I've had an ending post for this thread in mind since the election.
So if you have final thoughts, go for it now.
Will there be a Trumpocalypse thread? Otherwise Trump news will just take up all the discussion in the random news article topic.

Final thoughts: Hillary was a bad campaigner, but the fact that she had to fight Trump, Putin, Wikileaks, Bernie Bros, Jill Stein, the FBI and a lazy media and still won by 3 million votes is not that bad.
Why would being smart be even remotely related to intelligence briefing? It's not a mathematical equation. You can't just guess the information that are given to you.

Is that information that comes from some investigation of the event or is it a conclusion you came to? I'm genuinely asking since I don't much about it.
