Volume 25 extras bring information about Wonder of U, but until then the stand is:
The panel is falling on Yusuho, no now is on Josuke, not back to Yasuho, now is Kyo.
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part II: Do the Dio Walk!

I hate wonder of u. I hate this fight, I hate the flow of this battle, I hate the mistery of "what is in the bubbles" mistery that has lasted over 4 months now.
At least they finally drew blood.
-
Yeah this whole arc isn't very appealing to me either. I never liked spin in SBR so it coming back isn't something I'm excited for. And it's felt like it's been dragging for a while now. Kei coming back is cool but it probably would have been better if she wasn't completely absent for over a dozen chapters. And we still haven't seen Caato for a while too. Araki has always had trouble juggling characters and storylines but this feels like some of the worst in the series. Maybe it just seems worse because this is the first part I've read while it was ongoing.
I do think the setup with the falling plane part is cool though. I'm interested in what's going to happen there.
-
So, did Araki fully retcon Yasuho receiving her Stand due to the wall eyes? And how many plot threads are still left? It seems like there will be at least a few arcs after this…

I will be so happy when this arc ends.
-
Apparently Part 8 is coming to an end. And god damn Cesarino, Gappy is already too much characters into one get out of here.
-
What? No surprise Kato final boss?
-
Even if this isn't the final arc (though this seems climactic) I don't know if any further arcs will be good or if I will care at this point. He did the same thing with Ojiro that he did with Kei. I don't know why nobody saw it coming. Probably because her ability seemed like it might do something interesting with WoU. Also JJL will almost certainly surpass SBR in page count with the next chapter.
-
At least Kei got to impart some wisdom besides "your girlfriend is on the phone :eyesplorch:"
-
I mean, Ojiro wasn't really a main character where as Kei could've/should've been.
I could see this being the final fight and Kato simply taking over as head of the Higashikata family (especially if Norisuke and Joubin are actually both dead). Or she attempts to and that causes conflict with Josuke somehow, and everyone needs to pick a side.
Either way I feel like part 8 has really flopped the landing. The beginning and middle parts were pretty good but after the mystery was explained, stuff got out of control.
-
Either repeat the "made of jello" stand and be vulnerable to raindrops and leaves, or make the calamities be things that actually hurt you, not both, as it gets tyring to look out for rounded edges where the characters will cut off their fingers.
-
Whatever happened to Norisuke's ex-wife again?
-
She's around. It's a bit sus to me that she isn't in the Higashikata home when all this is kicking off. She's the only one.
Also I really hope Kato does do something after this fight and is the last antagonist, and I hope Hato gets involved as well. I was thinking about it last night and Hato really does feel pointless in this whole story, like Araki made more family members than he actually needed, just in case.
Also where's Karera in all of this?
-
I think it's weird and anticlimactic that after all the buildup, Joubin just gets his ass kicked and dies like all his planning and pathos was for nothing but maybe that's the joke and tragic irony of his character?
-
It is anticlimactic but I could see it as motivation for Kato to be antagonistic seeing as Joubin is the one she went to prison to protect.

Two months to find out what happens.

Why am I laughing so much?

The animated adaptation of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, Part 6: Stone Ocean have been confirmed.
-
Pucci be blessed.
-
Urgh. The only thing I am looking foward is Bohemian Rhapsody.
-
I'm just upset we didn't get Miyuki Sawashiro
-
-
Interesting that the woman voicing Jolyne is a JoJo fan.
-
The art style on the key visual looks good, like a melding of Takahiro Kishida's designs for Part 5 and Terumi Nishii's style for Part 4. Should be much more animator-friendly than Part 5; with how complex those designs were with all their lines and shading I'm amazed that Part 5 only really melted at a couple points.

That's a shame, but the new VA is really good. I enjoyed her as Hibiki in Dumbbells and her role in precure seems to be well-received too.
-
Yas, been looking forward to getting this part animated. Despite some stands that get really weird with their abilities, Jolyne is part of my trifecta of best Jojo protags and overall the part was a blast so looking forward to this.
-
Finally, we're going to find out where the fuck is Mickey.

@Cyan:
Finally, we're going to find out where the fuck is Mickey.
Easy he's too busy ruining other peoples IPs. Hope we get a tease of Giorno and Mista in Disneyworld while Pucci is meeting his brothers.
-
Ai is a great choice to be Jolyne. I'm really enjoying her performance as Cure Summer on Tropical Rouge Pretty Cure.

I've never heard of her but that's good to know. I hope our favourite priest VA remains the same even though that's not likely but David hasn't messed up any VA so far so that's cool.

! So now Kaato is coming into play finally. Is she crying because of what's happened to Joubin? Or basically the entire household? Where has she been all this time and will she have a connection to Tooru? Many more questions but I'm glad it's coming towards its end.
-
! I'm expecting Caato to just be cannon fodder like Ojiro and Kei. It was cool for Araki to bring a character back after so long with Ojiro but he doesn't seem to be using them well. Especially with how much emphasis Caato had when she was first introduced only for her to completely disappear until now. Can't say I'm happy about this upgrade for Josuke either.
-
Is it a theme at this point that Stands named after Prince albums get asspull powerups in the final arc, or we need a third to be sure?
Anyway, it really feels to me like Araki just wants to get over with this part.
-
This is honestly the worst part in the JoJo series. It started very well but it has not been interesting to me for a very long time. It is especially disappointing when this is an alternate version of the 4th part which i really liked and it also comes after the fantastic 7th which is my favourite. This is just weird for the sake of weird and it is not cutting it.
-
I still hate the head doctor.
Did everyone in the house die?

It gave us Damo. Thus can't be the worst part.
But yeah, both as a whole and in its signle arcs there's a lot of great premises that either go nowhere or fall flat of any hype. In hindsight it feels like in 2011 Araki was truly inspired by having a story stemming from his personal experience relating to the 2011 quake (and Morioh is the jojoverse version of his hometown as we know) and went strong for a mistery story, but then changed his mind a lot along the way (as he does) and couldn't really commit to any consistend direction or even tone.
Had its great moments though. -
The Head Doctor that turned out to be a stand of a pedo rock human was a mistake.
And it is a spit in the face that of all of the rock animals we didn't have a rock lobster. -
That's assuming it's even over, right? We still don't know about the Rock insect that Yasou had as a child.
And seeing how many times this arc has seemingly ended the main set of villains, only to have a new set show up, who even knows if this is the end.
Personally, if it is, I think Araki should've introduced Tooru much earlier and just had him be there as a background presence the whole time. Maybe that is something an anime adaptation can add in.
-
I was hoping they'd do that with Doppio in the part 5 adaptation and they didn't. Changing the story so much like that (needing to write the character in earlier and give him some screentime throughout the series) likely isn't going to happen.

! I'm pretty sure the equivalent exchange doesn't work like Caato thinks it does at the end. Tooru should be healed by doing damage to Tsurugi. Also nice to know that Caato has been chilling at a hotel all this time despite not being shown since her introduction.
-
This does not fix the year of the doctor fight, but it is a good start.
! Equivalent exchange will work as araki wants it to do, either they swap injuries AND the curse, or one of them will be the biggest loser and I know who I want to die since a year ago.
! After all we haven't seen 2 injured people trade stuff, the closest was Kira-JoBase to make dead kira and JosukeFor tradition, I fucking hate the head doctor.
-
! Toorugi inbound, I suppose!
-
Used my long weekend to catch up with the story again…just missed the dragged out head doctor fight-.-
Damn, all i saw is every character bleeding everywhere and what the heck is that new power of soft&wet? -
@Don:
and what the heck is that new power of soft&wet?
Just good ol' Araki nonchalantely bulshitting his way out of the corners his really cool but not really well thought through setups write him into.
About the new chapter:
! Kaato's gambit is really reminescent of Lucy's nasty handling of alternte Dio from 150 years prior, and overall pretty cool. Chapter was a fair bit dragged out though, exploiting the building of Kaato's charachter to repeat at length things we already knew all too well, but it was okay.
! Aalso, really a nice touch that, while having the same -king themed stand as every other Higashikata, she shares the namesake with her favourite son (as both Speed King and Space Truckin'(g) are Deep Purple songs) -
I really barely remembered this stuff, I got one am glad for the recap
