@DEE:
I am reading chapter 776 Now 'Fight between Franky and Senior PInk' and guess what?
I think franky's senor's son lol.
Well everything is possible in One Piece, but Senor Pink isn't that much older than Franky.

That would have been funny but like kcity said Senor is only 10 years older than Franky and no everything is not possible in One Piece.

Still sounds more plausible than having a pregnancy of 20 months…
Still sounds more plausible than having a pregnancy of 20 months…
This made me look up the earliest known pregnancy age(should be around the same age for boys to be a father I'd figure); 5 years and 7 months… wtf...
Longest pregnancy is like 12.5 months, so yeah, definitely more plausible than a 20 month pregnancy
@joekido:
The government does not always prosecute a country unaffiliated with them, there are countries not under the government and look how fine they are
The problem is, they can become not-fine at any given moment.
Those poor people building that Tequila Wolf bridge, for example. They are either criminals or from countries that didn't join WG.
As always, notify me or Galaxy 9000 if you have questions or find any errors.

Thanks! I didn't notice anything, but the font change you used with Bakkin a cool detail. I also couldn't get what Law told Usopp in the other translations, this clears it up.
Weeble or Weevil ?
Went with Weeble for now. Didn't really see any clues in the character design that would indicate a connection to a weevil. Our translator checked Japanese forums just to make sure and he said there wasn't much to go by.
So Weeble for now. Will go back and fix it if there are more clues later on.

Yea, Tsukai pointed out that both MS and MP misunderstood the subject of the sentence.
Yep, that one indeed.

LoL I can't believe I almost missed this joke because of bad translations. Thanks powermanguys !
Belly, Berri, Beli or Berry?
Next chapter I hope that we will get "Many days ago, on Sea near Dressrosa" and flashback of Curlyhats vs Big Mom ship will start.
I want volume worth of chapters concentrated only on Sanji and co adventures, them getting as much of pages as rest of Strawhats gotten through entire Dressrosa.
That would be a blast to read.
As much as I wanted that, it sure looks like Oda wants to avoid it. and maybe keep the mystery over big mom pirates untill they are the focus in the story.
Right now with Weeble and Zou, minkmen, law's crew on zou, jack and kaidou, dd and marines, too much to focus right now to return back then. It eas just a mistake to send the sunny team away in the first place. Hope Oda learns from mistakes. No more crew separation, they had that for 2 years on top of ID, AL, Marineford. The point now is to stay together Oda.
I don't think it was a mistake. Can you imagine Dressrosa with four more main characters? It was already so crowded.
I do want to see the KHA aftermath, but I reckon it will be like Ace vs BB

It's more of a mistake to make dressrosa so crowded in the first place. And that should not be done at the price of main characters. There are so many arcs still left to introduce allies for luffy, no need to crowd revolutionaries, marines, warlord and big crew, yonkous, Royal family, dwarfs in the same country, many gladiators around the world.
It would only make other arcs look small in comparison.

I guess Feeble would be too mean?
Why isn't dweeble catching on?
Hasn't anyone here ever called someone a dweeb? Or at least heard it on a T.V. show?
Edit:
Also I just noticed it now but it's really hilarious that Robin tried to give Ussop some gum when she knew it would make him puke like the rest of Barto's crew.
She's a little mischief maker.

This sounds like a good point….SHIKAAAAAASHI : can you actually see this happening ?
All of a sudden Oda includes such an enormous pattern in the story.
Imagine the first captain of the fleet, even the second:
"We are the captains of the strawhat fleet...the two of us... the other guys will appear in the next arcs..."
It is much better in my opinion for the creation of a pirate fleet to be a once-in-a-story event.
I usually put my abridges in the chapter thread too that it's abridging… this one abridges four chapters but 802 is one of them, so why not?

Imagine this: '' we are the pirate king's crew. We have been separated much more then we have been together. The time skip alone was like 4 times bigger then the time the crew was together, and we are talking about the first members of the crew since poor Brook is like that Foreign uncle that lives in another country and visits us on Christmas. But we are a crew'' . The crew also missed important events like marineford and ID.
This arc had so many sides in it, almost like marineford. The only time the marines even did anything was at the end of the arc and they have been on this arc since the start. Just compare it with FI and Punk Hazard.
Seriously, would you rather have allies appear one arc after an other ? The sake cup ceremony would get pretty boring the 7th times.
Actually Luffy might not get any other captain under his flag. Of course some royal armies will join in the final war but that's it.
Oficialy? maybe another 2 or 3. The second time would be hilarious, of Luffy seeing the cup and being more nope than this time.
Small details that I only noticed by re-reading the chapter :
the back of the "Going Luffy" has the shape of Chopper's head and hat;
the den-den of Gambia's grandma is pretty… interesting;
Franky's new shirt seems to have "Corazon" written on it.

I thought she suggested that because they chewed gum to help with sea sickness… or was it implied that the gum made them vomit and I missed it?

With the focus they get, I expect Kinemon and Kanjuro as the new captains and leaders of the samurai group that join luffy allies, zou could also bring minkmen along with another captain. And that's only from the next 2 islands.
So yeah, I don't expect it to end here, amd get all the captains from a single island. And the point is I don't trade allies for main crew, as awesome as they may be.
As if "next nakama" predictions weren't enough, we now also have "next ally captain" predictions to fill the pages.
As if "next nakama" predictions weren't enough, we now also have "next ally captain" predictions to fill the pages.
And the awesome part is that there is not limit to Luffy's allies, unlike the actual crew, doesn't need to fit any pre made criteria and selection, so you can just name anyone you see and be a likely option.
Should make the break weeks a little shorter at least.
The best thing about Dressrosa was all the other characters. Every arc has a similar shape to it and even though it's been a long time (esp. with the timeskip) since arcs with all the Strawhats, we've had decade of Strawhats winning one-on-one battles. One of the reasons why One Piece has never gotten stale and hopefully will never feel so is that the universe is delightful, and even if each arc is just another notch for Luffy to win against a tougher opponent, it's also the opportunity for exploring the universe. That's what's wonderful about it.
Even if you don't buy that aesthetic reasoning, think about it also from a narrative point of view. This manga is not about one pirate crew's journey to Raftel. It's about a generation of pirates and their conflict with the entire world. The scale of world war is not to be taken lightly.
The paramount war featured the shichibukai, the navy, and one of the Yonkou (arguably 2/3 right at the end). In order to have a climactic world war, Oda needs to feature either before or during everyone at Paramount, plus the two other Yonkou, plus the revolutionaries, the World Government and the Celestial Dragons. In order to invested in those stories they need to develop. Time is running out. Arcs are running out.
We get 40ish chapters a year. Dressrosa was 100 chapters. Oda is 40. There's been 800 chapters already. He needs things to be done in parallel and he needs to skip over things unless he wants to be writing this series for another 20-30 years.
I would not be suprised if Oda spents another 30 or less years to finish the series, he spent a total three years to finish Dressrosa, who knows how long he'll finish Zou and how many new subplots is Oda is going to make. Plus back in spring, it was predicated that by October, we'll be in Wano, however as October arrived, we are in Zou.

Franky's shirt at the beginning of the chapter is the same he's been wearing since they left Dressosa. It says "Corrida", like Robin's. He's wearing a new black shirt when they see Zou, but that one's wordless. (He is sporting a cool new belt and hairdo, though. )
Plus back in spring, it was predicated that by October, we'll be in Wano, however as October arrived, we are in Zou.
This is far from the truth. The theory that Wano was going to start this fall was based on an announcement about the release of some figures named ''Wano something''. Some fans believed back then that this release siginified the future coming of the Wano arc and the introduction of new characters and not Kinemon and his gang. That and the constant whinning of many fans for Oda to hurry and get to the ''good stuff''
With the minkman, some kaido men and Weeble as potential Zou villain, samurai deal that ties Zou to Wano( like dressrosa's punk hazard)? I expect a 40- 50 chapter arc. Weeble should not be a long confrontation since his only crew is his mom. So law and rest of the crew could fight some kaidou people. With Doflamingo in the hands of Jack, maybe he's the one to take down Jack?( law)

And we knew we had to go to Zou before, so I would have been difficult to believe that anyway…
The nobles treated 500 million as pocket change.
So i imagine whatever bounty Dragon for instance has is covered.
Furthermore, Arlong was able to exact a montly tribute of 100,000 B$ per person from pretty much everyone from cocoyashi. Thus, montly earning per person must be at least about 100,000 B$ average (some poorer and some waaay richer).
If we use a conservative 50,000 B$ X an also conservative 500 millions persons in the WG (OPlanet is said to be a bit bigger than earth), we have a nominal gross domestic income of 25 quadrillions bellies.
Even a paltry 5% taxation rate would amount to about 1,25 quadrillion bellies of annual budget for the WG, that's 1,250,000 one billion bounties… so yeah.
I don't think your calculations are really working out for the real OPverse. For so many possible reasons.
so, Break For this Week?
is one piece on break this week
And we knew we had to go to Zou before, so I would have been difficult to believe that anyway…
The good thing about Zou is it may wander to Wano on it's own eventually.

No. The end of the chapter would say something about a break if there was one.
Unless it's a Jump magazine break, but there's not one of those any time soon.

You say this like every arc from now on is going to be at least Dressrosa-length, which is absolute nonsense

I predict around 4-5 more arcs.
Zou is supposed to be not too long. Wano will probably include Kaido so it might take a while. Then we have a couple of short set-up arcs and eventually a long final arc.
I give this series about 10 years. Maybe even 9.

Yeah I believe it'll be somewhere around there, if I had to be more exact I'd bet probably 8 more years or so for another 400 chapters, but I wouldn't put money on it. I'd definitely say the ending would be in the ballpark of around 8-12 more years or so

That doesn't mean anything. That Jump preview is missing more than just One Piece.
The only reported absent series next week is Gintama.

It has like 6 mangas on it.. there are much more than that.
Furthermore, Arlong was able to exact a montly tribute of 100,000 B$ per person from pretty much everyone from cocoyashi. Thus, montly earning per person must be at least about 100,000 B$ average (some poorer and some waaay richer).

Made a mistake, that's the mensual budget. Multiply by 12 so it's 15 quadrillions of annual budget for what I think is a very conservative calculation for an organisation that was stated to have 180 member nations…
Now, some of it must go to infrastructure (like the bridge Robin was on during the TS and the sea train), maintenance for hundreds of military bases, public fonction (impel down, enies lobby, etc.), to the world nobles, etc.
Now, it's possible most of the taxation go to local governments and that's why I hypothesised a low 5% taxation rate, it may be lower. However, the case I wanted to make is that bounties, even in the billions, amount to pocket change for an hegemonic organization like the WG.
