lol I was just thinking that. Besides the fodder, not one member of Dofla's crew has been defeated. The only one that has actually started to fight a strawhat is Senor Pink, Pica, and just now Gladius. Lol they haven't even all gotten an opponent yet. Sugar was suppose to be defeated but nope. This is going to be the longest arc ever lol
Sugar did NOT need to come back. Her purpose was already fulfilled. Now there's going to be 10 chapters wasted on trying to get rid of her again. You're also forgetting the fact that she's a little girl. Yes she's most likely older than she appears, but her appearance is of a little girl. Nobody is going to "kick her ass". The most that will happen is that somebody accidentally falls on her or something like that.

Hell man, his officers are supposed to be strong! Who cares if they are all not down. They are some of the most interesting villains Oda has given us, and they are all in one crew.
Fishman Island and Punk Hazard without the running around, crying children and useless other filler.
Cutting those would just result in around 3-4 less chapters. Hardly a difference.
And the children were necessary to show the giantism experiment anyway, so they couldn't be cut.

Nice set up chapter this week, but WTF sugar is back!!! this is promising!! and of course why on the earth would Oda put a tag team robin and barto vs gladius, I was waiting for a 1 vs 1 since decades, well that's better than seeing her stabbed by snowwoman, hope barto will deal with the toys, as for viloet her power is very cheated, I dunno what usopp and kin are up to, maybe a rematch against sugar for usopp, as sugur came back, i think jora would eventually come back again.

Technically Jora is still running around somewhere. But I don't agree with him anyway.
This arc has been fucking gold. Save for the last chapter, the way Jesus and Bastille were treated by Sabo, and Sanji and crew being omitted from the arc, this has become one of my favorite arcs thus far. I look into the long run and know that when I reread this in its entirety, it's going to be glorious. Hell, the arc isn't over, maybe Jesus does something awesome, Franky redeems himself (absofuckinglutely), Big Mom becomes a huge entity after this arc, so we may all be happy that this happened eventually.
I can see why Doflamingo is being taken out now. He is the last ordinary villain (rather serious) we have. The new world has some freaking weird shit and I'm not giving up hope that that will be fully explored once his face is pummeled. Big Mom is weird as hell and I'm expecting Kaido to be ridiculous. Anything with Vegapunk or the Tenryuubito is going to be out of this world. The only thing keeping normality in all of this are the Revolutionaries and thats not saying much (ehem* Ivankov)

Jora is not unconscious, she ran away from Law and Doflamingo fighting. We haven't seen Buffalo in 15 chapters, we have no clue if he's still down or not. Oda is seemingly setting up all of these members to be taken down sequentially. Oda lets you know when someone is officially out. He usually shows their unconscious face a few times after they are beaten.
And uh, when Jora fought with the rest of the straw hats, the fight didn't consist of dodging at all. I'd love to see an extremely trippy fight with Kanjuro's bad drawings and Jora's obsession with ugly art. Add Ussop and Sugar into that and it would be amazing.

Actually, I'd say the biggest "filler" of the entire PH arc was the "smiley/slimey" part of Shinokuni. It didn't amount to much and, in the end, that being was to be turned into gas anyways, so being a sentient mix of a slime and an axolotl that basically made the Zoro group run away for too many panels, or just. . .make a couple of combo moves with Caesar. . .yeah, we could've skipped directly to the gas weapon without all that and skip some good 5-6 chapters.
Smiley was created only to show us how fruit rebirth works. Oda doesn't kill characters so he created a "thing" that he could kill just to show us that one mechanic. All that so we wouldn't be confused when Doflamingo showed up with mera mera no mi.
All those things people consider filler have some kind of a reason to exist other than "for the lulz".
I'm not defending it becasue smiley really was meh but it wasn't totally pointless. It would have been better if CC just dropped a nuke but what can you do…
Can't wait for Usopp vs. Sugar round 2! Kanjuro vs Jora is inevitable.

Smiley was used to show DF rebirth and Kin'emon's fighting style. And the Axolotl fruit might end up being reused in the future.
Pretty good chapter. A lot has happened which in a way has its pros and cons. I feel like we are jumping scenes to quickly but then again it can't be helped cause of these established subplots.
Barto is really growing on me. I don't really care who gets the spotlight between him and Robin in their tag team match. Barto is as good as a SH for me even if unofficial.
That frame with Tyler and Becca? Badass. Looking forward to it colored.

I for one am glad that Sugar is back up, I think she is a fun character, and her being terrified of everything that is long and really pissed off at the Strawhats has some nice potential for future moments.

I personally was quite worried about where the arc was heading when Ussop made Sugar fall unconscious, Zoro was fighting Pica and Luffy was already charging at Doflamingo at a point where neither the villains nor the conflict between Luffy and Doflamingo had been properly built up. Now Oda is delivering that buildup and Im enjoying it, because I now trust him more to bring this arc to a satisfying, cilmactic closure. Diamante, for example, was a character that I felt, as a Top Executive, hadnt gotten enough panel time to hype his threat level compared to Trebol, or even Pica, who was being hyped up by not being shown for quite some time. But here is Diamante now, facing Rebecca, whose mother he killed, and looking really threatening and badass. Awesome

You're damned if you do, damned if you don't. Even the worse quality Manga have this, such as Bleach or Naruto. You could do stuff to actually make the story better, but the main fans won't like it while those who been wanting it to improve will like it a little better. The main thing though is that there is a diverse number of opinions on this forum, with everyone liking the series, but there are certain things they don't like about it. I don't mind if this arc goes for a while longer, because we have set up and there is a reason for this arc to be going, but for some they don't care for the set up or other things about the arc, and either just want the arc to end, or feel that it should speed up a little bit. It's something that will happen due to the massive following it has.

Agree. Despite having only read chapters weekly since the time skip, I could see that there was always set up, and the more going on, the more time it took to set up. I remember reading water 7 and it was a long time before an actual fight, but I loved every minute of it.

Anybody else think those last few pages were pretty dark for OP? We get a shot of Sugar turning long nose people into toys then one of those same toys has a hole punched threw him and his head cut off. All this right after the horse has his skull crushed.
I don't mind these scenes they just seem dark for OP. I get Oda glossing over the entire underground full of broken toys and the fact that these broken toys are dead humans. However, by showing those guys getting turned into toys then getting ripped apart makes me think of the hundreds or thousands at the bottom of the pit.

In Left 4 Dead 3, someone screams tank and you see a giant lumbering Ussop running towards you. Worse part is he can snipe you and grow boats to chase you in the water. He's the worst zombie to have to fight.

Its the one thing that bothered me really this arc is how long Usopp was laying down.
It seems as if he went through worse in Water 7/Enies Lobby arc and got back up faster.
I mean think of what he went through in 2 days=
on arriving at Water 7, he gets mugged by the Franky Famliy, then encounters them a 2nd time where Franky uses his steel fists to punch him, then left Usopp for the rest of his gang. That evening Usopp battles Luffy. I don't care ewhat people say of "Luffy went easy on him" Luffy did not pull his punch to Usopp's gut there.
Next day, Usopp is interrogated (read really beaten up) by Rob Lucci himself then arrested for piracy. HE gets freed and joins others to free Robin (and Franky at that point) He encounters Jabra, then he's on top of the Tower of Justice, tallest building there during the Buster Call. He doesn't have time to use stairs to get down so when the building is under fire, he jumps. Neither Zoro or Sanji catch him. Usopp is down and they have to carry him
…. but once they reach the bridge a few pages later he's able to stand again. Read that's a few pages if that -not chapters- later.

Yes, I fully acknowledge this is the first time Usopp has faced an officer that works for one of the shichibukai that is as strong as Trebol, but still annoyed me that its take this long for him to move.
So his actions in this chapter made me happy. I really had to chuckle at his yelling at, then hitting, Kinemon and Kanjuro.
That golem guy was confirmed to be the strongest of the three… If I were to guess since their introduction, that Vergo is the strongest after Doflamingo.

When I think about all the possibilities with Sugar this is what i see happening, Ussop will go to Sugar even though we will see is cowardice reserfacing again. He will realise that it is important that he takes her out. Kanjuro will draw something for all of the persons on the platau to travel to the palace (I really want to see Ussop help Konjuro draw). I also think they will run into Jora along the way and this will set up a Kanjuro and Jora fight.
Thing to note we know that two executive have already move from the palace that only leave Trebol, I think he is also in a key location waiting on the next person to show up and who could that person be, possibility includes Kenimon he can cut fire and Cavendish revenge for his horse and for getting turn into a toy. The thing with Cavendish though is that his horse is down and i don't think he would want to leave him alone especially where they are at now so he will either stay there and help or move Farul to another location maybe coming across Trebol.

You know whats weird i always wonder how Ussop is able the take massive damage and still stand and he is'nt even a part of the monster trio, but to your point maybe because the damage was internal this time just guessing don't even know if Oda think of these things.
with sugar up, anything can happen…she turns some SHs or everyone in dressrosa into toys and DD gets away...or Sugar is taken down before she can do anything..this is where ussopp is gonna shine!

she had no physical damage whatsoever,only mental scars,and those are still there :P
that being said,it would be definitely a useful power..but why would they need it now like Viola said?oh,maybe to give kyros his leg back?even though that would be an easy job for law.

Can anyone else see Oda using Sugar to really over do the … "nakama" aspect of One Piece?
I mean, when Robin was turned into a toy, we never got any panels showing everyone forgetting Robin, but what if Sugar gets Luffy, and instead of everyone forgetting we see all the Strawhats struggle for a second and then they all pause and we hear Usopp come flying down on an escape sparrow and yell
"Did you really think, we would ever forget, OUR CAPTAIN!?" Then he snipes sugar, Luffy is freed, and tada we continue.

I got better scenario. Luffy gets forgotten so everyone will wonder who the captain is…. then naturally captain ussopp comes to play. Zoro will hear usopp call himself captain and wonder why the hell he follows a guy like that. And ussopp will feel obligated to defeat sugar as captain only for hilarious aftermatch when he realises hes not captain at all.
Also i feel like its great way to show full fight of sugar vs ussopp since last time we got cheated out of this fight. More running away than actuall fight....
