Let's not be hasty and call them nazi racists. They're just """"worried""" citizens.
I've seen globalism used a lot lately. It's actually something the far left complains about a lot as well.

P sure globalization is founded on some Revelations bunk where people inferred that there would be a single world country and that's bad. Also all people will be getting the mark of the beast (previously thought to be some kind of identification tattoo, now assumed to be a computer chip implant or something), after which the rise of the antichrist, etc.
Piled on top of a big mound of xenophobia of course
Anyway that's what I kind of feel like is the big thing, too many people watching Left Behind or something
Edit: like I know it sounds dumb lol but I swear it's fueling some, if not a lot of this

Look at this map of the US if we leave. You really want a huge Foam Finger shaped hole in the map without us???

Anyway I don't think it will happen because while I love TX, I also love to come and go as I damn well please and I know a ton of blue collar people commute between here and Louisiana. I don't think there's any chance it'll happen. But then again, Greg Abbot is a fuckwit
Hahahaha. It's almost like the missing Texas is giving you the finger.

Wow, I'm surprised and relieved.

Lawsuits in states with similar laws will be affected by this and we'll probably see challenges in the remaining states that have these policies soon.

Those laws have become quite popular in the past few years as a way of restricting the right to an abortion without actually challenging it in the courts.
I wonder how the bullshitters spin this especially in light of 4-4 deadlock on Obama's executive order on Immigration.

Explosions rock Istanbul once again, this time at the airport.https://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/jun/28/turkey-airport-explosions-ataturak-istanbul
10 dead.
Death toll rose to 28 :(
Just checked in with a friend in Istanbul and she's saying that people think it's ISIS.
Unfortunately the death toll is now at 50 and 60+ injured.
This is most likely not a PKK attack.
My god.. I was in that airport myself only a little while ago.
36 dead 147 wounded
Jesus Christ…
The numbers are still fluctuating btw.
In a way it should be surprising bordering Syria didn't create circumstances like this earlier.
When I was there last November I don't remember seeing much police presence within the tourist areas, but immediately outside on our way to a pier with my friend, the whole road was stopped and each car checked because there was news of suspicious Isis-related figures in the vicinity. So seems like the police has definitely been active when a threat was imminent.
But seeing attacks in Istanbul is just too much. There's too much to lose :(
There's been 6 attacks in Ankara and Istanbul since this year has started, 3 have been claimed by PKk.
One of my students is from Istanbul and he still has family there. His mom looked so upset when she told me about the attack. This is just horrible :(
Sorry for another depressing news.
Eight injured in bomb (hand grenade explosion) in Malaysia. It is speculated to be a result of business rivalry.
While millions of Muslims all around the world are fasting and observing the holy month of Ramadan these supposedly super religious and strict muslims are killing innocent people and blowing themselves up. Makes sense.

I'm glad that this happened! People should not be banned because of who they are. So, this is a good thing that it was finally removed, and transgender individuals can finally serve without restrictions.

And just when Turkey was trying to build back up relations with Russia.
Well, maybe if this is true Russia and Turkey can work closer together in nabbing terrorists that plan to do harm in either of their countries.

Former USSR, meaning they aren't in Russia.
And really this isn't all that strange. ISIS did it, and ISIS has people from all over the world.
In the light of the supreme court ruling, i cant believe there are people who are still pro-life. One guy was like, it's in your body, but it's not your body. Lol that makes zero sense. Rape is just one of the many things that makes pro-life dumb, ignoring the psychological and physical stress of a rape victim.
But in other circumstances you canno't consider abortion first degree murder, because a fetus is not a person, therefore it doesn't have the same rights as a person.
It's true, one of the requirements of a homicide is that the person must be outside the womb of her mother. AG REF iirc. That is part OF UK criminal law, derived from common law.

This isn't really good news. They're permitting for the federal minimum wage here for younger workers to be lowered to $4/hour which is fucking ridiculous. I only see this increasing the crime rate here and making things harder for us.

I'm not a fan of austerity measures either and that pay wage sounds ridiculous but from what I read without the legislation Puerto Rico would default on its bills and unfortunately Puerto Rico can't declare bankruptcy. You'd lose utilities a lot of jobs and I imagine some basic government functions. I'm not on the ground there so I can't feel the effect of what these austerity measures will lead to and maybe there's a better way like direct federal aid (money) though you then have to take the precedent it sets into consideration. Anyway, we're hoping everything turns out alright over there. Not only because you all are fellow American citizens but because that's a shitty situation all around that no one deserves.
I'd appreciate it if you could keep us updated on the situation and I'd be interested in hearing your opinion on what should be done since you live there.

Yeah I understand that, but I don't see how lowering the minimum wage specifically helps us directly. There's a lot on the bill that will help surely, but letting the minimum wage go down to $4/hour for young workers is pretty devastating. We already have to pay 11.5% tax for pretty much every purchase we make here, which is also ridiculous but in a way understandable considering the circumstances, but adding that $4/hour minimum to the mix is just making us suffer more for it. Life here is getting more expensive everytime, and while it ain't horrible it's not looking good for the future.

I'm not sure but I believe the thought process is by cutting the minimum wage you help employers because now they're spending less? And if businesses have more money they can grow and hire more people, and if they're doing better then that's good for the whole economy?
On the other hand that means less money in the pocket of the people and less money circulating around in the economy. In other words it doesn't help you all directly but it's intended to help indirectly. Didn't look like it was working in Greece though.

Austria is getting another chance to elect a fascist president.
This is such a farce. The reason for the nullification was that the voting cards were opened a little too early. And the election observers that fucked up the most were from the FPÖ (Hofer's party) anyway.
I feel like this will also only help them, since I already heard many people talk about how they don't want to go vote again. Well, at least the president can't do that much in Austria, it's more about the chancellor.

Now that i think about it, i'm actually a little bit suprised that the idea never came up in the American south.

As MDL said, the article clearly states it's the families of victims suing the FBI, not the shooter.

A fluff piece, to contrast all the awfulness. The Chinese are warming up to cheese, and by extension pizza, thanks to pizza hut.
Italians are, i'm sure, outraged that it's not buffalo mozzarella, basil and tomato sauce. But hey it's a start.
Now they just need to work on adding cheese and dairy to Chinese food to make some lovely fusion dishes.
Saying Buffalo Mozzarella is kinda redundant….
Saying Buffalo Mozzarella is kinda redundant….
It really isn't. Not since there is no rules in place that dictate what kind of milk must be used for it be called mozzarella.
Case in point, go into a store and pick a pack of mozzarella at random. See what you end up with.
