Flowers can move around in onepiece http://onepiece.wikia.com/wiki/Pop_Green?file=Midoriboshi_Humandrake.png so I don't really see Robins moving her flower clones around as such a big deal. Maybe Usopp has a robin pop green :D
Chapter 738: "Trebol Army, Special Executive Sugar"
-
-
What a great chapter. My favourite of the year so far. I loved the pacing.
-
Trebol vs Robin, it's coming! è_é
-
It's her real body, she can warp her self like when Luffy vs Jimbei…
in that case it was always a clone,if you notice,we never saw her walk to position herself between luffy and jinbe, and in the first panel you can clearly see the petals around her, hinting that it is a flower that just appeared, the real one came out of the forest immediately after that.
also think about it,if that was the real body, she would actually be one of the fastest characters in onepiece, sicne she would have to calmly postion herself between those two that they are going full force against each other
-
because it would be totally stupopid, and because if she was able to do that, she would have already done that multiple times.
also, who said her sole can't be the rootNo it wouldn't! The only reason plants don't sprout from air is because there isn't the needed nutrients, to do so. Plants try to grow from anything possible,if the minimal conditions exist very possible it will sprout. But that part, the nutrients, isn't included in Robin powers, so I don't see the problem.
Your "she would be able to done that multiple times" has a huge problem, time. All those hundred of chapters where she didn't used that it was in the past. Than it was the timeskip where she trained and improved. And now she is different. Why is so hard to see that? Think what she did has a new technique. Luffy didn't used the Red Hawk pistol for hundreds of hundreds of chapters as well, but after the timeskip training he is able to do that.
Do you think she could sprout a hand where the palm of her hand is connected to the surface? Or her fingers? Do you understand that she only can connect to the surface where it should be part of her body. The sole can't be the beginning of the connection because that is the end of her foot, what would be connected to the surface?
anyway,we are running in circles here…let's just say that we agree to disagree and move forward..this discussion is not going anywhere...that she created a flower able to walk and run,a flower that by definition must be rooted to something
Ok, best to end the discussion here.
Last thing: No, a plant isn't by definition rooted to something. You can cut the plant and keep it alive for days, weeks or even more. -
Usopp will beat Trebol quite easily once he realizes Trebol's power.
To fight something that is sticky you must use dust/powder.
Sticky stuff stay sticked only to clean stuff.
I think some of you know this
which is pretty close to Trebol power LOL
Roll one of those in the dust and it won't work anymore.
Once Usopp realizes it, Trebol power becomes uneffective. -
Because Dressrosa will became revolutionnary or Luffy territory
-
Will the whole discussion thread be focused on Robin's clone power? Seriously?
Also, the rules from 10 years ago don't necessarily apply after the time skip. Chopper says HELLO THERE!
-
But Usopp was just terrible. Usopp is a coward and we get it, and I'm against him becoming a brave warrior of the seas just because he had a rough training. He'll always be a coward. But even back at Arlong Park he had the freaking balls to shoot Arlong in the face when he saw his cruelty against Genzo and co. He got pissed off at him and stood for the people being crushed by Arlong's rule. Now? He's sending dwarves to get their asses beaten and even thinks to himself that if things go south he'll get the fuck outta there.
Now, of course in the end Usopp will man up and save the day, but I feel like Oda is going with this schtick for way too long and it's starting to feel a bit uncomfortable.
Yeah. I sorta console myself here by thinking how Oda did a similar thing with Sanji's nosebleeds back in FI. It was a plot point so therefore he emphasised it to the point it becomes over-the-top. Usopp will be fine after this arc is concluded I think.
-
I don't recall Robin ever saying she had to be "rooted" in oder for her body parts\body to survive, just because in the past it 'looked' as if that was its limited (and so we interpreted it as such) does not at all mean that it was truely a limit until explicitly said. For example, just because sanji only used brute force for potency in his kicks doesnt mean a 'rule' has been broken when he started using diable jamble. I'm not saying it was wrong to assume to know Robins limit, most of us made that assumption, but we where wrong accept it and Robin\Oda has said nothing I'm aware of to contradict that in the past. If anyone could reference a panel where she made such a claim please do . . .
She explains her power in the chapter 170, and (in my French version) she says that she can sprout member of her body wherever she wants to. I do not recall any other moment as well.
-
Turns out the ship Trebol threw into the executive tower belongs to the DANgerous Guy.
Dangerous guy comes out pissed.
-
(also Vergo has metal paramecia wooohoooo ).
Not sure if you are serious thinking this but I'm pretty sure Vergo doesn't have a df but he has a very strong Busoshoku haki and I believe until now he is the only one that have performed a full-body Busoshoku haki
-
ussopp says that he's retired from the weakling trio. i guess he's just doing what he does best. LYING!

Violet promise… Or do you really think they won't see other again and the others will simply wait at Zou for Luffy.
his job is clear, to take caesar + momo away from dressrosa and big mom and head to zou. do you really think he'll just abandon all that? and going to zou then come back again will take too much time. so IMO, it's really unlikely.
-
For crying out loud…
I don't remember people going this crazy over Robin's full body clone and "flowers don't move" argument wen we first saw body clone in FI… was there one at all?
Just because the "Hana" inHana Hana no Mi means 'flower' does not mean she is restricted in movement like a flower.
I have never seen Oda say the hana hana no mi is limited in range and has to be rooted to spot.
Oda uses hana because when a limb appears it seems to 'bloom' from a surface. Of course the range of motion was limited for the limbs, they were not attached to a body! Makes sense that a full body clone is able to move about. -
I have to agree with some of the comments here concerning the pacing. It feels so very refreshing to see a whole chapter dedicated to one group on Dressrosa that isn't the colosseum. I enjoyed the latter as much as the next one, but at one point it became really tedious to see nothing but all that fighting. And while I'm not the biggest fan of the dwarves, I enjoyed the focus Robin and co got in this chapter.
Sugar and Trebol were the biggest surprise of the chapter though. While I did expect the latter to be strong in his own right, I certainly wasn't ready to witness such agile and efficient movements; especially not from someone with Trebol's size. Sugar then displaying physical capabilities on a similar level was even more unexpected. But definitely not unwelcome.
-
Here's Robin's explanation of her powers:
!
Not the best scans, but it doesn't really explicitly limit her to have to grow her body parts out of a surface.
Like said above, it makes sense for her limbs and lone body parts to be stationary. A whole body would be only stationary if she didn't have legs sprouted to it.
-

We will see. I doubt that the Violet promise has been for nothing after the build up.

Dear god, there has to be some sort of limiter to Sugar's power. Like it being limited to her hands or something.
Cause if all she has to do is touch you with any part of her body, and has that kind of speed she is practically invincible.
Trebol was fun though. Somehow i thought he'd be smarter lol. And Robin upgrading herself to full on action cloning was a nice touch from Oda.
-

Yeah, but what if she doesn't need to walk there? She can always sprout herself where she want. Beside, she's WG most wanted (as CP agents target), so she must be have "how to get away" training in TS.
Maybe she can be the fastest, but it must be limited somehow to her stamina, so it can't be use freely in battle. -
We will see. I doubt that the Violet promise has been for nothing after the build up.

When did he promise something? In which chapter?

It's always been Usopps time to shine, when there's no way back.
Once he realises that he's the only one able to do something hes gonna step up.Problem i have with the "Gulp" being Sugar swallowing the Tatabasco is that leo still had it in his hands,
while Usopp was still hiding. This Chapter made me believe Trebol is actually the strongest Executive Officer.
Don't know how he hit that fly between the eyes, i jumped to the conclusion that he must have Observation Haki.
If that's the case, why didn't he feel the Presence of Robin/Ussopp/Dwarves tho,
PLUS he shouldve seen the Wasps.Im really curious about Trebol, i kinda like him. That Creep.
Sugar is awesome too, Little Black Bears just too powerful.
And could someone Explain to me who is talking in The Bottom right about the 500 dwarves?
This caused me some confusion, it looks like 2 dwarves talking, but it doesn't make sense to me,
my guess is, that the translation sucks. -

If Sugar were able to turn you into a toy just by touching you with any part of her body, she would be ridiculously overpowered, true. You'd basically have to rely on long-range attacks and some help from Lady Luck to hit her. It's gotta be the hands only, I'm sure. Makes the most sense.

well,a sniper doesn't have to touch anyone

Trebols Beta Beta no Mi reminds me a lot of how Gaspades Ame Ame no Mi worked from Movie 4 I just hope that he doesn't get defeated by flour …
-
dull dwarfs, dull robin, dull chapter.

Dunno if posted yet but MS version is out: http://readms.com/r/one_piece/738/2259/1

When did he promise something? In which chapter?
Since her meeting ending with 725… First he promised her to "kill" the one responsible for her tragic... Later he told her to go in safety and that he will come and take her up later... And after it he left her in 725 without a proper goodbye.
Their relationship was quite deep in this arc and I doubt that Sanji will simply wait at Zou... Luffy and Co will beat the shit out of DoFla come as well and they will move on further without proper goodbye between Sanji and Violet...
And well I still can't see an arc ending with a SHs x Kingdom without half of the SHs

yup, that much is clear. The pickle is the claim that its a requirment for her sprouted 'members of her body' to be 'rooted' in order for them to survive. What you just reference explains that she needs to 'sprout', and I'll even assume she says she needs to 'sprout' from an 'object'. I have yet to see her claim her limits regarding needing to be "rooted"
-

It can probably be protected against with haki, in the same way that Law's powers can apparently be resisted.
Also, yeah, probably limited to her hands in any case, and she consciously has to do it.
Else she'd end up like Midas/the guy in the skittles advert.
Trebol kind of reminds me of Borsalino in a way. I doubt he's quite as stupid as he was made to look in this chapter.
-
Interesting how Oda keeps reinforcing the notion of being a family in how much the Doflamingo crew cares for oneanothers safety. The moment Robin said "wounded" you could see Trebol get serious with a look of immediat concern.

I was just agreeing with you and saying that there is no reference to the "rooted" thing that I can recall, but nevermind. I know what the pickle is. XD

Yeah I also like the way he took care of Sugar at the end.
But I am sure he did that knowing that she will survive. -
So Oda continues with the theme that DD's family are really concerned about their underlings with Trebol rushing out once he had some of his men were wounded in the attack. Its beginning to paint a picture that unlike Crocodile or Moriah. DD and his people like being with people and just don't treat others like tool(Bellamy being the only exception)
-

See you start out making sense, comparing one huge idiot to another.
But the second part just makes no sense at all.

haha I knew we're on the same page, the rest of my reply was just me using your reply to support my previous iteration. Thanks

Sugar became Perona 2.0. Look at her. Crown, hax power, bears. It has to be intentional.
Calling it, Sugar is her mother. Or was, before she turned into 10-years-old. -

Considering all the shit Bellamy has pulled Doffy has been suprisingly lenient, by mob boss standards.
He gave him three strikes before he counted him out entirely.

post and misinterpretation. My bad!

I don't see the problem with Usopp in this chapter. It's the Tontatta's plan and they are ones carrying it out, he's just there if they need help. Which they did, falling for Sugar's lie, and he helped them out there. I have a feeling he'll realize that they probably had more friends with them and, knowing Sugar's power, they got turned into toys. All they have to do is knock Sugar out, and Usopp has already shown the ability to beat people just by terrifying them.
-

I'll try and explain it better.
I think Trebol is more absent minded, rather than downright stupid.
While he was made to look silly in this chapter by what is to us, a fairly obvious trick, I think it's more of a quirk rather than a downright lack of intelligence.

Sugar: "kill all the ones currently inside the executive tower!"
brave warrior of the see:" eh…me too!"It was not even fun.
-

Mostly joking. But they are really carbon copies of each other. They even have bears of same design.
Also, how do you know? It's still unexplained. -
Sugar: "kill all the ones currently inside the executive tower!"
brave warrior of the see:" eh…me too!"Eh, Usopp for you. He gets scared easily, freaked out, and reacts badly to being targeted. He's still there though, and I doubt he's going to run away, and despite his cowardice he still fights. I think the difference with me is that I don't see a problem with Usopp being Usopp; being brave isn't the same as fearless.

I like this part of Usopp as well, but he seems to have no consideration for the dwarves risking their lives in this chapter.
-

Thinking about it, its true, the fact that Bellamy managed to get in a second time is surprising but I still think that the second time around Doflamingo didn't really give a shit about him, he was just muscle that could be useful(more of a tool than a comrade).
I'd actually like to see him interacting with another member see what their opinion of him is.

Diamante and him seemed to be sorta friendly when he gave him the mission.
Heck, depending on how you read it, you could even say that he seemed to be kinda encouraging him.
-

Yeah, I can see that. Ideally it's Usopp's shock that she knows he, or at least someone other than the dwarves, is there and not him wanting to avoid confrontation. Hopefully the check part of this subplot will redeem him, maybe in the confusion caused by the freaking huge ship flying into the building he'll rush out, gather the remaining dwarves and book it to a safer distance to work on a new plan.
